Developers and Investors today are banking vacant plots of land with high building potential, profiting from their trade at the expense of building affordable homes. This project explores the notion of adversely possessing said vacant sites, throughout London, by a group of squatters. A discrete kit of EPS moulds are used to assist a quick initial occupation of the sites; they are a set of 1/2 moulds which allows the users to attach their units onto one another, enabling the user to negotiate living space with their neighbour by rotating the combined uncast pieces. Casting the moulds adds permanence to the squatter’s dwellings, but more importantly becomes used as a negotiation tool. Negotiated Living Space. Ossama Elkholy
