ACADEMIC CLASSES

Our passion for learning, innovative education model, and small class sizes with a maximum of 14 students support a diverse group of learners, including those with dyslexia and ADHD. Classes are with Denver Academy teachers on DA’s campus June 9 to July 3 (no classes June 19). Students should register based on the grade they’re entering in the 2025-26 school year.

DA’s academic classes are designed to build confidence, foster social growth, close gaps, and prevent the academic summer slide. We recommend tutoring or academic coaching for intensive one-on-one instruction.

Each Elementary course has three levels (grades 1-2; 3-4; 5-6). Flexibility in student placement allows for remediation, review, or enrichment.

Elementary Math & Science

Math and science concepts are taught at each level through small group instruction, the use of technology, textbooks, games & projects. Concrete/tactile, representative and abstract forms are used.

DA specializes in teaching dyslexic students and those with a wide range of learning profiles. Reading and writing concepts are taught at each level through smallgroup instruction, phonics-based, and multi-sensory techniques. DA uses the Orton-Gillingham approach for reading fluency and spelling. We use comprehension strategies for passage, short-story, and novel reading. We will also work on the fundamentals of writing at each level (sentence structure, paragraph development, and essay writing). Keyboarding and speech-to-text technology are available.

ACADEMIC CLASSES

Our experience with the Summer Program at Denver Academy was nothing short of wonderful. Our student was able to hone skills from the previous year and prepare for the next. The teachers are top-notch, providing exceptional feedback during and at the end of the program. It’s also an opportunity to cultivate new friendships and fun!
