But as time goes on the Hotel Aurelio’s visitors book will no doubt receive further praise – for it has only been open for three years. Every hotelier knows that he will only succeed in the premium segment if he employs highly professional and friendly staff. At Hotel Aurelio, it is not only the ‘software’, but also the ‘hardware’ that has completely won over its discerning guests. From the outside, the building makes an understated impression with its vernacular construction – that of an Alpine inn with a curved gable roof, overhanging wooden balconies and

window frames. But as you walk inside an involuntary “wow” escapes your lips. There is nothing here to remind you of the traditional Austrian mountain hut. You enter a world of contemporary luxury. The interior designers Mlinaric, Henry, Zervudachi (London, Paris) have created the most elegant interior that combines modern elements with the typical atmosphere of a cosy winter chalet. So the chimney breast is adorned with deer’s antlers, which are perfectly complemented by the extremely comfortable seating in the lounge. The cosy atmosphere is achieved through a mix of bespoke furnishings and antiques. With nineteen rooms and suites, the hotel is very private and the manager knows each guest by name. From the balcony of the 110-square metre suite with bedroom, dressing room, seating area and bathroom, you look out on snow-co-
vered mountains. And if you are looking for company, you can sit in front of the open fire in the Licca Lounge. Here you can enjoy an après-ski brandy or an Armagnac, more than 100 years old. And to go with it a little reading matter from the extensive library of some 1,000 books. If you want to warm up, you can pay a visit to the hotel’s spa. With an area of some 1,000 square meters, it contains two pools, a thermal suite comprising a herbal sauna, an aroma steam room, a jacuzzi and a multi-sensory shower, and a fitness room. All the facilities have a sophisticated lighting concept giving an ambiance which guarantees relaxation and wellbeing from the first moment on. There is naturally a wide range of treatments on offer, from full body massage to unusual treatments such as the caviar wrap.
