WILLKOMMEN ZURÜCK Wegen eines Brandes in der Nacht vom 15. Juni 2016 blieb das NENI Hamburg vorübergehend geschlossen. Seit Mai dieses Jahres sorgt die lebendige Gastronomie im Restaurant jedoch wieder für echte Erlebnisse. Die Gäste erwartet ein kulinarisches Mosaik aus persischen, russischen, arabischen, marokkanischen, türkischen, spanischen, deutschen und österreichischen Einflüssen. Alle Gerichte sind eine Hommage an Haya Molchos Liebe zum Kochen und an ihre Familie – hinter NENI stecken beispielsweise

die Anfangsbuchstaben ihrer Söhne Nuriel, Elior, Nadiv und Ilan. Unter ihrer Regie wurde das NENI am Wiener Naschmarkt Kult und eroberte im letzten Jahr Hamburg. Die Tischkultur im NENI ist entsprechend bodenständig und familiär, es geht gelassen zu. Bei NENI essen heißt, sich als Familienmitglied willkommen zu fühlen.

However, since May of this year, the vibrant food in the restaurant has once again been helping people to enjoy authentic experiences. Guests are met with a culinary mosaic of Persian, Russian, Arabian, Moroccan, Turkish, Spanish, German and Austrian influences. All

dishes pay homage to Haya Molcho’s love of cooking and her family – NENI, for example, is an amalgamation of the first letters of her sons’ names: Nuriel, Elior, Nadiv and Ilan. Under her leadership, NENI became a cult restaurant on Vienna’s Naschmarkt and last year also conquered Hamburg. The dining atmosphere in NENI is down-to-earth with a family feel and a laid-back attitude. At NENI, eating means feeling as welcome as a family member. So, welcome back!

GENTS’ BEST. Adam Bows was launched on the back of a big question asked by the two founders Julian Schramm and Tobias Adam: how can you get hold of a decent bow tie for your own wedding? A long-lasting battle to find one in both the real-life and virtual shopping worlds didn’t meet with success, so there was only one thing for it – do it yourself! The idea and dream of manufacturing bow ties became reality this year. Every stage of manufacturing is carried out by hand at the company’s own Hamburg manufactory. All bow ties and packaging are made from natural and renewable raw materials; Adam Bows does not use any synthetic fibres or animal materials. 1972 in Arizona geboren, ab dem zarten Alter von einem Jahr in der Hansestadt aufgewachsen, begann er seine Fernsehkarriere bei MTV, bevor er zum Lifestyle-Magazin taff auf Pro7 wechselte. Kennen tun ihn die meisten Zuschauer aber als Bezwinger von Stefan Raabs großen Prime-Time-Shows. INTERVIEW Eigentlich könnte er in jeder deutschen Stadt wohnen, doch für ihn kommt nur Hamburg infrage: Wenn die Zeit reicht, geht es an die frische Luft des Elbstrands, zum Sport, mit Freunden zum Essen oder auf ein Interview mit LE DELUXE. Uns verrät er, was man als Showmoderator alles braucht, und erzählt von einem Familienprojekt der ganz besonderen Art! It´s Showtime! In Ihrem Beruf geht es rund um die Uhr um Entertainment. Was zeichnet einen guten Showmoderator aus?

Gätjen: Er muss Spaß am Job haben, Leidenschaft, Flexibilität, sollte immer offen für neue Herausforderungen und Abenteuer sein, auf Menschen, Kandidaten und Stars eingehen und zuhören können, agieren, statt nur zu reagieren.

Bei Ihnen hat es mit dem Erfolg geklappt: 2015/2016 holte das ZDF Sie für die großen Shows. War das schon immer Ihr Traum?

Gätjen: Ja, absolut! Ich habe mich sehr über das Vertrauen gefreut. Neben all den wirklich tollen Sachen, die ich in meiner Karriere schon erleben durfte, ist das auf jeden Fall ein weiteres Highlight.

Ein kleines Comeback gab es außerdem in diesem Jahr: Ihr Ex-Sender Pro7 holte Sie zurück an den roten Teppich der Oscar-Verleihung…

Gätjen: Das ist für mich etwas ganz Besonderes, vor allem, da ich die Filmwelt so sehr liebe und schätze. Ich habe viele Jahre dort vor Ort gearbeitet und viel Leidenschaft und Engagement in die Sache gesteckt. Das zahlt sich jetzt durch das Vertrauen der Stars und dass sie mich mittlerweile kennen, aus.

Bei den Hollywoodstars wirken Sie immer absolut entspannt. Was ist Ihr Geheimnis?

Gätjen: Diese Menschen haben großartige Leistungen vollbracht, sind aber sonst ganz normal und wünschen sich, dass man ihnen auf Augenhöhe begegnet. Ich bereite mich immer sehr detailliert auf meinen Job vor, das wissen und schätzen sie. Ich vertraue dabei immer voll auf mein Bauchgefühl und meinen Instinkt.

Ein paar ganz andere Stars in Ihrem Leben sind Kinder. Für die haben Sie nun gemeinsam mit Ihrem Bruder Andreas Karlström das Buch „Die unglaublichen Abenteuer von Wilbur McCloud: Gefährliche Mission“ geschrieben.

INTERVIEW Gätjen: Die Idee kam mir bereits vor langer Zeit, Anfang der 2000er. Auf einem interkontinentalen Flug habe ich mich gefragt, warum es eigentlich nicht so richtig etwas zum Thema Reisen für Kinder gibt. Daraus entstand schließlich diese Idee. Wir wollten anfangs eine Zeichentrickserie, dann eine Show à la Muppets machen und sind am Ende zum Buch zurückgekehrt. In den Figuren und Abenteuern von Wilbur steckt vieles von meinem Bruder und auch von mir: die Neugier, die Abenteuerlust, Dinge selbst auszuprobieren und Erfahrungen zu sammeln.

Sie und Ihr Bruder tragen ja ganz unterschiedliche Nachnamen, wie unterschiedlich sind Sie im wahren Leben?

Gätjen: Wir sind ja insgesamt drei Brüder, und ich glaube, wir sind alle unterschiedlich, am Ende aber doch gleich: Andy ist der eher introvertierte, sehr versierte Schreiber und großartige Schauspieler, ich bin eher extrovertiert, aber brauche auch meine stillen Momente. Wir schätzen uns sehr und helfen uns, wo wir nur können. Auch beim Schreiben haben wir uns perfekt ergänzt: Andy hat geschrieben und mir Kapitel für Kapitel zugeschickt, dann sind wir gemeinsam alles durchgegangen. Die Geschichte haben wir zusammen entwickelt, der Großteil der Charaktere stammt von mir. Es war eine wirklich wunderbare Erfahrung, mit ihm zusammenzuarbeiten.

Der Held, Wilbur McCloud, startet eine wilde Verfolgungsjagd quer durch Süddeutschland, Sie selbst leben aber im Norden, mitten im Herzen Hamburgs. Wie oft schaffen Sie es bei all den Projekten nach Hause?

So oft es geht. Ich brauche meine Freunde, meine Familie und vor allen Dingen Hamburg, die Elbe, die Nähe zum Wasser, um abzuschalten und runterzukommen. Ich schätze diese Stadt und ihre Menschen sehr.

Man munkelt, Sie könnten eines Tages „Wetten, dass...?“ wieder aus der Versenkung holen.

Was sind Ihre Pläne und Träume für die Zukunft?

Gätjen: Ich habe eine ganze Menge Ideen und Träume, aber man sollte ja nicht zu viel verraten, sondern lieber hart dafür arbeiten. Oder wie der Hamburger sagt: Butter bei die Fische machen!

He could live in any German city he chooses, but Hamburg is the only one he wants: if he has time, he loves to head to the Elbstrand to play sport, meet friends for meals or even enjoy an interview with LE DELUXE. He reveals what you need to be a showmaster and tells us about a special kind of family project he’s involved in!

It’s showtime! Your profession is about entertainment around the clock. What characterises a good show presenter?

Gätjen: They need to have fun on the job, passion, flexibility, should always be open to new challenges and adventure, should be able to approach and listen to people, candidates and celebrities, and act rather than just react.

And you’ve been very successful at it: in 2015/2016, ZDF brought you on board for its big shows. Was that always your dream?

Gätjen: Yes, definitely! I was so happy they placed that kind of trust in me. In addition to all the really amazing things I’ve already experienced in my career, that was definitely another highlight.

You also enjoyed a little comeback this year: your ex-broadcaster Pro7 took you back to the red carpet for the Oscars...

Gätjen: That was really special for me, especially because I love and value the film world so much. I worked there for many years and put a lot of passion and commitment into it. That’s now paying off through the trust celebrities place in me and the fact that they now know who I am.

With Hollywood stars you always look completely relaxed. What’s your secret?

Gätjen: These people have achieved great things but they’re otherwise really normal and want others to treat them as equals. I always prepare for my job in great depth and they know and value that. I always completely trust my gut and my instinct.

Children are the other stars in your life. For them, you’ve now written the book “Die unglaublichen Abenteuer von Wilbur McCloud: Gefährliche Mission” (Engl.: The Unbelievable Adventures of Wilbur McCloud: Dangerous Mission) with your brother. How did that come about?

Gätjen: I had the idea for it a long time ago at the beginning of the 2000s. I was on an intercontinental flight when I asked myself why there wasn’t anything out there for kids about travelling. And that’s where this idea came from.

We wanted to do a cartoon series to start with, then make a show in the Muppets vein, but finally we came back to the idea of a book. There’s a lot of me and my brother in the characters and adventures in Wilbur: the curiosity, craving for adventure, trying things out for ourselves and garnering experiences.

You and your brother have completely different surnames: how different are you in real life?

Gätjen: We’re three brothers and I think we’re all different but also the same: Andy is the more introverted, very gifted writer and amazing actor, I’m more extrovert but I still need my quiet moments. We appreciate each other very much and help each other where we can. And we

also complemented each other perfectly when it came to writing: Andy wrote it and sent it to me chapter by chapter, then we went through everything together. We developed the story together and most of the characters come from me. It was a really wonderful experience to work together with him.

The hero, Wilbur McCloud, goes on a wild car chase across southern Germany, but you yourself live in the north, in the heart of Hamburg. How often do you manage to get home with all the projects you have on your plate?

Gätjen: As often as I can. I need my friends, family and above all Hamburg, the Elbe, the proximity to the water, to switch off and come back down to Earth. I value this city and its people so much.

There are rumours that you might be able to resurrect the programme “Wetten, dass...?” from oblivion one day. What are your plans and dreams for the future?

Gätjen: I have lots of ideas and dreams but you shouldn’t give too much away, instead work really hard to achieve them. Or as Hamburgers say: Put some butter on that fish! In other words, see it through.

Interview mit Doreen Koch, Inhaberin Twinkle Brow Bar Interview with Doreen Koch, owner of Twinkle Brow Bar Als Inhaberin der Twinkle Brow Bars hattest du sicherlich irgendwann den Impuls, dich voll und ganz den Augenbrauen zu widmen – wie kamst du auf die Idee, die erste reine Eyebrow Bar in Deutschland zu eröffnen?

Ich war über elf Jahre auf der ganzen Welt als Hair & Make-up Artist unterwegs und hatte mein Faible für Augenbrauen immer im Köfferchen dabei. Richtig in Szene gesetzt, komplettieren sie jeden Make-up-Look – das gilt für Models und Schauspieler genauso wie für uns normale Frauen. Was mir auf meinen Reisen auffiel? Die Wahrnehmung für Augenbrauen und Wimpern ist in anderen Ländern eine völlig andere! As the owner of the Twinkle Brow Bars, you must at some point have had the desire to dedicate yourself completely to the world of eyebrows – how did you get the idea of setting up the first eyebrow bar in Germany?

For over 11 years, I travelled the world as a hair and make-up artist and I’d always had a particular love of eyebrows. When done right, they can complete any make-up look, and that applies as much to us normal women as it does to models and actors. What did I realise on my travels? The perception of eyebrows and eyelashes is totally different in other countries! In other places, they’re the foundation of

a neat appearance – and regularly visiting a brow bar in England or the USA is a matter of course. But I couldn’t find a similar specialist shop in Hamburg or even Germany. So why not do it myself?

Can you rescue all eyebrow disasters?

A typical disaster is “over plucking” the eyebrow, which means it loses its shape. The best way to rescue it? Stop what you’re doing and go to a professional! We advise and help our customers to get their perfect eyebrows back.

Last year, the eyebrow trend was the fuller and more prominent, the better! What’s the trend for 2017?

Bold brows, full and prominent eyebrows, are still THE trend – but not everyone has naturally bushy brows. With microblading, an old Japanese craft, any customer can get very close to the eyebrows they desire. This involves drawing in eyebrow hairs individually and very precisely – for a deceptively authentic look, from prominent to natural and subtle.

What brow tools can’t you do without?

In my make-up bag I always have an eyebrow pencil, eyebrow brush and a thread to pluck the hairs.

The EUROPA 2 belonging to Hapag-Lloyd Cruises will be docked at Kirchenpauerkai during the Cruise Days and looks forward to people marvelling at her. She will then be heading off on a big trip again, first to Amsterdam, Oslo, Gothenburg and then Lisbon in October. All suites on board are veranda suites and there are seven restaurants where guests can feast to their hearts’ content. This is precisely why the EUROPA 2 has won the “Gastronomy” category of the “Kreuzfahrt Guide Awards” four times in a row now.

There is also a large wellness area located within the luxury liner’s 225 metres. By the way, this luxury liner really is a true Hamburger: in 2013 it was christened on the harbour’s anniversary in the Blankenese district! And that should give you something of an idea of how it differs from its sister, the EUROPA: Hanseatic casualness, easy-going and relaxed but still luxurious. In addition to its two luxury ships, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises also operates the expedition ships MS HANSEATIC and MS BREMEN on which passengers can travel to the Amazon river, parts of Russia or Canada and sometimes all the way to the Arctic or Antarctic.

And the pop star has apparently brought the ship luck: the constantly expanding Mein Schiff fleet shows just how successful the comfort-focused concept of Tui Cruises is. With its latest treasure, the Mein Schiff 6, the company will be heading to Central America for the first time. The start and destination harbour for the 14-day cruise is La Romana in the Dominican Republic. ‘The first destination on the trip is Jamaica’, explains press spokesperson from Tui Cruises, Godja Sönnichsen. Then it will travel to the paradise island of Cozumel and ‘in colourful Belize City, guests can look forward a vibrant mix of colonial and modern architecture and a Caribbean dream on the island of Roatán’, says Sönnichsen. Costa Rica, Panama and Colombia are also stops along the way. AM STEUER DER EUROPA 2 AT THE WHEEL OF THE EUROPA 2

215 Fahrten haben Ulf Wolter als Kapitän für Hapag-Lloyd Cruises bereits aufs Wasser geführt, zehn weitere werden es noch in diesem Jahr. Am 8. September ist es wieder so weit, dann läuft sein Stammschiff MS EUROPA 2 mit rund 500 Gästen zur Parade der Hamburg Cruise Days in den Hamburger Hafen ein. Für ihn das „Tor zur Welt“, so nennt Wolter Stadt und Hafen ganz liebevoll: 1992 ging er in Hamburg für sein Nautik-Studium vor Anker, lebt seitdem hier und startete 2003 seine Kapitänskarriere. Wie eng verknüpft die Stadt mit seiner Liebe zu Schiffen ist und der Beruf für ihn quasi ein Muss, erzählt er im Interview: Lieber Herr Wolter, was hat Sie eigentlich zu Ihrer Liebe zu Schiffen gebracht?

Sehr prägend war für mich, dass mein Vater ebenfalls Kapitän war. Er hatte einen eigenen Frachter, ein Küstenmotorschiff. Da bin ich als Kind und Jugendlicher häufig mitgefahren. Außerdem bin ich quasi am Elbstrand aufgewachsen und konnte immer den Schiffen zusehen. Da kann man nur zum Schiffs-Liebhaber werden.

Hatten Sie schon einmal besonders kuriose Situationen mit Gästen an Bord?

Bayerischer Frühschoppen auf der HANSEATIC mit einer japanischen Reisegruppe! Es gab landestypisches bayerisches Essen, und Schnäpse wurden natürlich auch dazu gereicht. Die Japaner haben alles mit großer Begeisterung mitgemacht.

Ihr „Stammschiff“, die EUROPA 2, wird auch Teil der Einlaufparade bei den Hamburg Cruise Days sein. Was ist hieran so besonders?

Das ist ein besonderer Moment, es gibt so viel Schönes zu sehen an beiden Seiten des Ufers.

Besonderes Highlight ist natürlich auch die kürzlich eröffnete Elbphilharmonie als neues Wahrzeichen von Hamburg. Auf der Elbe gibt es ebenfalls viel zu sehen: die vielen Barkassen als Begleitfahrzeuge und die anderen Kreuzfahrtschiffe. Ich glaube, auch die Gäste lieben es einfach, Teil der Parade zu sein. Es ist eine ganz besondere Atmosphäre, dieses Spektakel vom Schiff aus zu erleben.

Mr Wolter, where did your love for ships come from?

A huge influence was that my father was also a captain. He had his own freighter, a coaster.

I often went sailing with him as a child and teenager. I also practically grew up on the Elbstrand and was always able to watch the ships. That can only turn you into a ship lover.

Was würden Sie sich selbst auf den Cruise Days anschauen?

Ich würde mich an den Elbstrand setzen und mit dem Fernglas das Treiben auf dem Fluss genau beobachten. In diesem Jahr freue ich mich allerdings, an Bord der EUROPA 2 zu sein. Das ist ein nautisches Highlight für mich, im Heimatrevier unterwegs zu sein.

Ihr Gefühl, wenn Sie mit dem Schiff in den Hamburger Hafen einlaufen?

Für mich ist das ein emotionaler Moment. Die Elbe hochzufahren und in den Hamburger Hafen einzulaufen ist wie nach Hause kommen.

As captain, Ulf Wolter has already taken to the water 215 times for Hapag-Lloyd Cruises and will go on ten more trips this year. On 8 September it’ll be that time of year again: his regular ship MS EUROPA 2 will be docking in Hamburg harbour with around 500 guests for the Hamburg Cruise Days parade. For Wolter, this is the “gateway to the world”, as he lovingly describes the city and its harbour: in 1992 he put down anchor in Hamburg to study nautical science and has lived here ever since, starting his career as a captain in 2003. In an interview, he explains how closely linked this city is to his love of ships and how his job is practically his life:

Have you ever experienced any especially strange situations with guests on board?

A Bavarian alcoholic brunch on the HANSEATIC with a Japanese tour group! We had typical Bavarian food, and schnapps was of course also served. The Japanese took part in everything with great enthusiasm.

Your “regular ship”, the EUROPA 2, will also take part in the closing parade of the Hamburg Cruise Days. What’s so special about this event?

It’s a special moment, there’s so many great things to see on both banks. A particular highlight is the recently opened Elbphilharmonie, a new Hamburg landmark. There’s also a lot to see on the Elbe river: the many launches that act as escorts and the other cruise ships. I think that guests just love being part of the parade really.

It’s a very special atmosphere, experiencing this spectacle from the ship.

What would you be looking at if you were a spectator at the Cruise Days?

I would sit down on the Elbstrand and look what was going on on the river through binoculars.

However, I’m also pleased to be on board the EUROPA 2 this year. It’s a nautical highlight for me, being on my home turf.

What feelings do you experience when you arrive in Hamburg’s harbour on the ship?

For me, it’s an emotional moment. Going up the Elbe river and entering Hamburg’s harbour is like coming home.

Wer nach Kuba fliegt, reist in eine andere Zeit: Nach der geglückten Revolution 1959 schmiss Staatsoberhaupt Fidel Castro buchstäblich alle großen Firmen und Ketten aus seinem Land – Coca-Cola und McDonalds sucht man hier vergeblich, dafür findet man Traumstrände, ab und zu einen Pferdewagen, der über die Autobahn galoppiert und die besten Cocktails der Welt! Mojito oder natürlich Cuba Libre mit eigens hergestelltem kubanischem Rum? Die gibt es nicht nur in den Lieblingsbars von Schriftsteller Hemingway wie dem La Bodeguita del Medio im alten Havanna, sondern überall auf Kuba.

Holzvertäfelte Restaurants und Bars, in denen der gute Tropfen zu einem gehörigen Schluck Livemusik gereicht wird, gehören quasi zur kubanischen Kultur. Ebenso wie die ausladenden Chevys, die in der Hauptstadt Havanna an jeder Straßenecke stehen. Eine Stadtrundfahrt mit den alten Amerikanern zu den wichtigsten Spots ist daher unabdingbar. Neben Havanna ist Varadero ein beliebtes Ziel für Touristen: Weiße Sandstrände dominieren die Inselfront Kubas, ebenso wie mittlerweile viele Hotels.

Trotzdem ist die Region gerade für Wassersportler ein Muss – oder für die letzten Strandtage nach einer Rundreise durch Kuba! Nach Viñales zum Beispiel, dem wohl charmantesten Städtchen, das Kuba zu bieten hat. Bunte Häuschen grüßen mit Schaukelstühlen auf der Veranda, fußläufig geht es in die Natur der Finca Agroecologica, auf der man ebenfalls übernachten oder frische „Coco Locos“ schlürfen kann. Tipp: Restaurant Casa de Don Tomas.

If you travel to Cuba, you’ll be travelling to a different era altogether: following the successful revolution in 1959, head of state Fidel Castro quite literally ejected all the major companies and chains from his country. You won’t find any Coca-Cola or McDonald´s here, but you will find paradise beaches, horse-drawn carts galloping across the motorways from time to time and the best cocktails in the world! Mojito or a Cuba Libre with rum made in Cuba? And these aren’t just available in author Hemingway’s favourite bars, such as La Bodeguita del Medio in old Havana, but everywhere on Cuba.

American cars is essential. As well as Havana, Varadero is a popular destination for tourists: white sandy beaches dominate Cuba’s front, as do many hotels now. The region is a must for watersports fans – or for spending the last few days on the beach following a trip around Cuba! Viñalesv, for example, is probably the most charming town Cuba has to offer. Colourful houses greet you with rocking chairs on the verandas, and you can explore all the nature the Finca Agroecologica has to offer on foot, where you can also stay the night or slurp fresh “Coco Locos”. Tip: Restaurant Casa de Don Tomas. If you’ve got time, you should travel to the oldest town in Cuba, Baracoa, over in the east. It was the first place where the Spanish conqueror Diego Velázquez landed, is located directly by the sea, surrounded by long mountain chains and situated in amongst mangroves such as the tropical palm forests with unique flora and fauna – and some friendly residents. Tip: Book a guide for the day trip (e.g. via the Hotel El Castillo located on the mountain directly above the city) to take you to the neighbouring bay. Not so far away from here is Cuba’s friendly capital Santiago de Cuba with its expansive and magnificent squares that also reflect Cuba’s history. A look inside the Catedral Santo Tomás is worth your while. Santiago is also located by the water in a bay that looks out over the open sea. It’s a particularly relaxed place in the evenings and the light installations

Sie war der erste Anlegepunkt für den spanischen Eroberer Diego Velázquez, liegt direkt am Meer, umgeben von langen Gebirgsketten, inmitten von Mangroven und tropischen Palmenwäldern mit einzigartiger Flora und Fauna – und mit freundlichen Einwohnern. Am 4. April leuchtete im Hafen das neue Private Work Your Champ-GYM auf. Der Initiator Ismail Özen hat sich seinen Traum von einem Private GYM erfüllt und lud 350 Gäste aus Wirtschaft, Politik, Medien und Sport zu der sportlichen und glamourösen Neueröffnung ein.

Für kulinarische Köstlichkeiten sorgte das Nobelrestaurant Il Tramonto, inklusive der begleitenden Getränke von Moët & Chandon Ice Impérial Rosé Champagner. Die Moderatorin Susanne Böhm führte die Gäste im Rahmen einer großen Box- und Yoga-Show durch den Abend, die musikalische Begleitung bot Sängerin Celine Love mit einem ausgesuchten Kinderchor.

Nicht nur die neuen Räumlichkeiten standen dabei im Vordergrund: Das Charity-Projekt „Kampf Deines Lebens“ von Ismail Özen und Janina Özen Otto gibt Jugendlichen die Chance, diszipliniert an Sport und schulischen Leistungen zu arbeiten. Dafür wurde nun der ideale Ort geschaffen – das Work Your Champ-GYM. BATTLE OF YOUR LIFE. On 4 April, the new Private Work Your Champ-GYM opened at the harbour. Its initiator Ismail Özen has now realised his dream of a Private GYM and invited 350 guests from the worlds of economy, politics, media and sport to the sporty and glamorous opening. The upmarket Il Tramonto restaurant provided culinary delicacies, including the accompanying drinks made with Moët & Chandon Ice Impérial Rosé champagne. „Die Liebe zu meinem Job und der Selbstständigkeit“ „Sei anders, sei du selbst und nicht eine Marionette der Gesellschaft.“ Nadine Geigle hat sich vor zweieinhalb Jahren Bereich im Bereich Grafikdesign, Marketing, PR und Event selbstständig gemacht. Sie berät nationale wie auch internationale Unternehmen und baut Newcomer-Marken auf. Mit ihrer Tätigkeit verfolgt sie ein genaues Ziel und es ist ihr wichtig, dass ihre Arbeit für sie spricht. Wir unterhalten uns mit Nadine über ihre Ziele, ihre Zukunftsgedanken und über das unternehmerische Risiko.

Klassisch kommst du aus der Werbung. Wie hast du dich von der Werbung weg und hin zur PR und zu Events entwickelt?

Ich bin gelernte Mediendesignerin. Mein Vater war im Bereich Werbung tätig. Sein Rat lautete damals: „Kind, wenn du Geld verdienen möchtest, gehe nicht in die Werbung.“ Da Kinder bekanntlich fast nie den Empfehlungen der Eltern folgen, bin ich doch in die Werbung gegangen. Ich habe in vielen bekannten Werbeagenturen gearbeitet – allerdings tagelang am Rechner und Schreibtisch zu sitzen lag mir nicht so ganz. Mein großer Wunsch war es schon immer, mit Menschen zu arbeiten. Viele Marken wollten mich als Vertrieblerin einsetzen. Für diese Tätigkeit empfinde ich großen Respekt. Doch mein Weg ist ein anderer, denn: ich wollte immer auf eigenen Beinen stehen, also selbstständig und kreativ sein, innovative Lösungen finden, neue Wege für Marken entwickeln und diese gut beraten und betreuen.

Welche Events betreust du und was treibt dich an?

Als Jungunternehmerin kommen viele Firmen auf dich zu und möchten gern mit dir in Kooperati-

on ein Event aufbauen. Sicher, am Anfang der Selbstständigkeit macht man das gern, man möchte Referenzen sammeln und sich beweisen.

Viele Berufseinsteiger haben oft noch nicht ihre persönliche Richtung gefunden und geben kostbares Wissen unter dem wirklichen Wert an Firmen weiter. Ich habe viele Eventkonzepte geschrieben, Kooperationen mit Unternehmen abgesprochen und ins Leben gerufen. Meine Ausrichtung war aber von Anfang an sehr klar und zielgerichtet. Ich möchte lieber weniger Veranstaltungen organisieren, dafür lieber mehr PR-Events mit Klasse, Neueröffnungen mit Herz begleiten und spannende Corporate Events konzipieren. Dabei bin ich zu 100 Prozent federführend – das ist mir sehr wichtig. Ich möchte die Richtung selbst bestimmen, das Design kreieren, Konzepte und Stilrichtungen entwickeln und diese auch präsentieren. Ich bin keine klassische Eventmanagerin oder Grafikdesignerin, die Anweisungen ohne eigenes Mitdenken umsetzt, sondern ein kreativer Allrounder. Ideen haben viele, doch diese weiterzuentwickeln und die Finanzierung dafür hinzubekommen – ein leichter Weg ist dies nicht. Eine bestimmte Qualität zu erreichen und zu halten ist sehr mühsame Handarbeit und benötigt viele Schritte, die ich mir über die Jahre hinweg angeeignet habe.

Welches deiner bisherigen Events liegt dir am meisten am Herzen?

Mein Herzensevent, das ich von erster Stunde an konzipiert, aufgebaut und weiterentwickelt habe, ist die Woman Business Lounge. In diese Netzwerkveranstaltung habe ich viele Ideen und Energie eingebracht und ich habe als Jungunternehmerin die Chance genutzt von erfahrenen Persönlichkeiten zu lernen. Ich wollte keinen kostenpflichtigen Club, sondern eine Business-Veranstaltung, die besondere Business Damen besuchen können. Die Gäste können den Input, den sie für sich benötigen, aus den Gesprächen und Angeboten mitnehmen.

Gleichzeitig erhalten die unterstützenden Sponsoren und Marken gezielte und qualitativ hochwertige PR. Das teuerste an einer Marke ist die „rote Linie“ im Design, die Marketingausrichtung und die Betreuung. Die Woman Business Lounge

ist ein Forum, um Künstlern, Jungunternehmerinnen und modernen Marken Sichtbarkeit zu geben. Über die PR hinaus biete ich auch meine Beratung an. So manchen Marken fällt in der Praxis und auf den Events auf, was ihnen in ihren eigenen Betrieben fehlt und woran es hapert. Hier liefere ich einfache und gute Lösungen, die gemeinsam in kleinen Schritten erarbeitet werden.

Mit der Woman Business Lounge habe ich ein dynamisches, kreatives Netzwerk entwickelt.

Es sind tolle Frauen dabei, die sich gegenseitig stärken. Mein Ziel ist es, weitere Netzwerke aufzubauen und mit diesen weiter zu wachsen.

Wie ist die Woman Business Lounge entstanden?

Das Event startete 2014 gemeinsam mit mehreren Marken und einem Verlagshaus. Doch nach einigen Monaten merkte ich, dass unsere Vorstellungen von Zusammenarbeit doch sehr unterschiedlich geprägt waren. Deshalb habe ich mich 2016 dafür entscheiden, die Veranstaltung zu 100 Prozent allein weiterzuführen und mit eigener Kraft zu finanzieren. Für eine Jungunternehmerin ist das ein wirtschaftliches Risiko, dem ich mich gestellt habe. Auch das Zeitmanagement muss sauber strukturiert sein.

Zahlreiche Überstunden waren und sind selbstverständlicher, harter Alltag. Doch genau das war der richtige Weg – die Woman Business Lounge ist damit sehr schnell gewachsen. Die neue Ausrichtung ist die richtige Strategie. Viele bisherige und sehr wertgeschätzte Partner sind der Veranstaltung treu geblieben und auch wundervolle neue Marken wurden auf mich aufmerksam.

Was ist dir bei der Zusammenarbeit wichtig?

Loyalität ist für mich selbstverständlich, eben das hanseatische Kaufmannsdenken. Beide Partner sind fair und bringen sich aktiv ein. Deshalb ist mir auch die positive Zusammenarbeit mit meinen jetzigen Partnern sehr wichtig. Wir vertrauen uns und kommunizieren offen miteinander. Das ist insgesamt betrachtet ein langer Prozess. Dieser Entwicklungsschritt ist nun abgeschlossen, und die Woman Business Lounge hat sich nicht nur in Hamburg etabliert – auch ihr Alleinstellungsmerkmal hat sich meine Herzensveranstaltung erhalten.

Woman Business Lounge Linie 2017 Die Woman Business Lounge wird individuell maßgeschneidert und von Nadine Geigle für jedes Event neu zusammengestellt. Es gibt keinen konstanten Verteiler. Die Sponsoren erhalten für Ihre Kunden ein festes Kartenkontingent.

Die Marken und Partner werden passend zu der Event-Location zusammengesetzt. Es gibt keinen Stand 1 oder Stand 2 wie es im klassischen Eventmarketing oft üblich ist, sondern das Marketing wird hier jedes Mal neu kreiert. Die Story der Marke wird sozusagen erzählt, denn im Rahmen der PR werden Imagefilme und Fotos erstellt. Durch die Vielfalt der Bildsprache werden die Marken der Events sehr kreativ und klar herausgestellt. Die Themen setzen sich aus den neusten Trends und dem momentan herrschenden Zeitgeist zusammen.

Termine 2017 der Woman Business Lounge Das erste Event diesen Jahres fand am 06. April unter dem Motto „die richtigen Thesen für gutes Design“ in der Kaisergalerie statt. Die 13. Woman Business Lounge ist am 5.7.2017 auf Sylt in der Strandoase geplant, gefolgt von der nächsten Veranstaltung am 31.8.2017 im Mercedes (me) Store. Am 2. “The love of my job and independence“ “Be different, be yourself and not society’s puppet.“ Nadine Geigle went freelance two and a half years ago in the field of graphic design, marketing, PR and event. She advises national and international companies and establishes newcomer brands. With her job, she follows a precisely defined aim and it is important to her that her work speaks for itself. We talked to her about her goals, future and entrepreneurial risk.

You come from the world of advertising. How did you end up in PR and events?

I am a trained media designer. My father was active in the field of advertising and he always used to say ‘Child, if you want to earn money, don’t go into advertising’. And as children never do what their parents tell them to do, I of course went into advertising. I worked for many well-known advertising agencies, but sitting all day long at the computer and desk didn’t really suit me. My great desire was always to work with people. Many brands wanted to employ me as a saleswoman. And even though I have huge respect for that profession, my way has been a different one. I always wanted to stand on my own two feet and be creative, find intelligent solutions, develop new avenues for brands and advise and manage them well.

What kind of events do you manage and what drives you?

As a young entrepreneur, many companies come to you and want you to help them set up an event. Sure, at the beginning of self-employment this is something you are keen to do

because you want to collect references, prove yourself. Many people starting out in their career often haven’t found the direction they want to go in and are still finding the right way for them, passing on knowledge to companies while undervaluing themselves. I’ve written many event concepts, and negotiated collaborations with companies and put them into practice. I had a very clear and targeted direction right from the start. I prefer to do fewer events, but when I do them, they’re PR events with class, new openings with a heart to them or exciting corporate events.

With these, I’m 100 percent in charge – that’s really important to me. I like to determine the direction myself, create the design, and develop and present the concept and style. I’m not a classic event manager or graphic designer who implements instructions blindly without thinking, but a creative all-rounder. Many people have ideas, but developing them or getting the financing for them – it isn´t an easy way. Achieving a particular level of quality and sticking to it requires a lot of graft and involves lots of steps and processes that I’ve honed over the years.

Which of the events you’ve managed up to now has been particularly close to your heart?

My most important event, which I designed, established and developed right from the start, is the “Woman Business Lounge”. I’ve put a lot of ideas and energy into this network event because as a young female entrepreneur, I’ve taken the opportunity to learn from big personalities. I didn’t want a club that charged fees, but a business event that special business women could come to. Guests should be able to take what they need for their development from the discussions and overall offer. At the same time, the sponsors and brands get targeted and high-quality PR. The most expensive thing about a brand is the red line in terms of design, marketing orientation and management. The Woman Business Lounge is a platform for giving artists,

young female entrepreneurs and modern brands visibility. As well as the PR, I also offer consultancy services. Many brands learn in practice and at events exactly what is missing in their own businesses. Here, I supply simple and good solutions that are developed together in small steps. With the Woman Business Lounge, I’ve developed a dynamic, creative network. Amazing women are part of it who strengthen each other. My aim is to estabilsh further networks and continue growing with them.

How did the Woman Business Lounge come into being?

The event was launched in 2014 together with several brands and a publisher. But after a few months I realised that the idea I had in my head of what the collaboration would look like was very different to the reality. This is why in 2016, I decided to carry on with the event 100 percent on my own and finance everything off my own bat. For a young entrepreneur, that was certainly an economic risk. Time management has to be well structured, and lots of overtime was and is my everyday reality and a matter of course. But it was exactly the right way to do it – the Woman Business Lounge grew very quickly as a result and the new direction was the right strategy. Many previous important partners remained loyal to the event and amazing new brands also became aware of me.

What is important to you when collaborating?

Loyalty is self-evident to me – it´s the Hanseatic businessperson’s way of thinking. Both partners are fair and active. That is why the positive cooperation with my current partners is very important to me. We trust each other and communicate openly. Overall, this is a long process. This development step has now been completed, and the Woman Business Lounge has not only established itself in Hamburg – this event, which is the closest to my heart, also kept its uniqueness.

Woman Business Lounge Line 2017 The Woman Business Lounge is customised and put together anew by Nadine Geigle for each event. There is no permanent distributor.

Sponsors get fixed tickets for their customers, and brands and partners are brought together to suit the event location. In contrast to classic event marketing with stands, the marketing here is created especially for each event. In a way, the story of the brand is told because within the scope of the PR, image films and photos are created. Due to the variety of the visual language, the brands of the events are displayed very creative and clear. The themes are derived from the latest trends and contemporary issues.

2017 dates for the Woman Business Lounge The first event of this year took place in the Kaisergalerie on 06/04 and was all about the right principles of good design. The 13th Woman Business Lounge is planned on 05/07/17 in the Strandoase on Sylt, followed by the next event in the Mercedes (me) store on 31/08/17.
