JUMEIRAH EXPANDIERT

Mit dem jüngsten Coup fügt die Jumeirah Group seinem Europa-Portfolio von aktuell fünf Hotels eine Ikone der Luxushotellerie hinzu. Das Hotelunternehmen wird das Management und den operativen Betrieb des „Capri Palace“ in Italien übernehmen. Das in den 1960ern im Stil eines Neapolitanischen Palazzos aus dem 18. Jahrhundert gegründete Hotel gilt mit seiner erhabenen Lage, seiner herausragenden Kulinarik und der „Capri Beauty Farm“ als die Hotelikone der Insel.

Die offenen, lichtdurchfluteten Räume gehen in 68 Zimmer über, die in Weiß, Blau und neutralen Farben eine mediterrane Atmosphäre verbreiten.

Besondere Keramikfliesen und maßgefertigte Möbel verleihen den Räumen das Ambiente eines familiären Privathauses auf fünf Sterne Niveau. Geplant ist die Wiedereröffnung unter Führung von Jumeirah im April 2020.

JUMEIRAH EXPANDS With the latest coup, the Jumeirah Group adds an icon of the luxury hotel industry to its European portfolio of currently five hotels. The hotel company will manage and operate the "Capri Palace" in Italy. Founded in the 1960s in the style of an 18th century Neapolitan palazzo, the hotel is considered the island's hotel icon with its sublime location, outstanding cuisine and "Capri Beauty Farm". The open, light-flooded rooms merge into 68 rooms, which radiate a Mediterranean atmosphere in white, blue and neutral colours. Special ceramic tiles and custom-made furniture lend the rooms the ambience of a family private house on a five-star level. The reopening is planned for April 2020 under the leadership of Jumeirah.

NEW OPENING ON SYLT The new Lanserhof Sylt will find its place in the northeast of the island between the dunes - on the Wadden Sea in the middle of List and yet far from the hustle and bustle. This is one of the highest elevations on the island with a fantastic panoramic view of the Lister harbour and the adjacent landscape conservation area. The Lanserhof itself will be built on this elevation. The construction works have been running since November 2017, the estimated construction time is about 3 years. On a surface area of 20,000 m², the building with 68 rooms, including the treatment area and medicine with around 5,000 m² is being constructed. There will also be a spacious spa area with saunas, steam baths, rest area and indoor and outdoor pools.

Es handelt sich hier um eine der höchsten Erhebungen der Insel mit einem fantastischen Rundumblick über den Lister Hafen sowie das angrenzende Landschaftsschutzgebiet. Der Lanserhof selbst wird auf dieser Erhöhung des Grundstücks entstehen. Die Bauarbeiten laufen seit November 2017, die geschätzte Bauzeit beträgt rund 3 Jahre. Auf einer Grundfläche von 20.000 m² entsteht das Gebäude mit 68 Zimmer, inbegriffen der Behandlungsbereich und Medizin mit rund 5.000 m². Weiterhin wird es einen großzügigen Spa-Bereich mit Saunen, Dampfbädern, Ruhebereich und In- und Outdoor-Pool geben.

DELUXE: Deutschland, Österreich, Thailand, Malaysia, Malediven und nun Abu Dhabi: Ihre Hotelkarriere hat Sie schon an viele spannende Orte geführt. Wo fühlen Sie sich zu Hause?

Adrian Stoppe: Die Welt ist mein Zuhause. Mein Beruf ermöglicht mir, verschiedene Länder und Kulturen kennenzulernen. Ich fühle mich in den Emiraten sehr wohl, denn als Familienvater ist mir die Sicherheit und Stabilität eines Landes besonders wichtig. Abu Dhabi wurde bereits mehrfach als die sicherste Stadt der Welt ausgezeichnet.

Zudem regnet es nur fünf bis sechs Stunden im Jahr – ich befinde mich also wörtlich genommen auf der Sonnenseite des Lebens.

DELUXE: Das Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara ist nicht das erste Hotel der Hotelgruppe, in dem Sie arbeiten. Was macht Anantara aus?

DELUXE: Sie arbeiten dort, wo andere Urlaub machen. Wie sieht es aus, wenn der General Manager selbst einmal verreist?

Adrian Stoppe: Am liebsten geht es dann in die Heimat: Fußball schauen mit Freunden, Leberkäse und Weißwurst essen mit der Familie. Abschalten mit einem kühlen Bier im Sommer oder einem Glühwein im Winter. Auch der Besuch in der Eisdiele ums Eck, die man schon in Kindheitstagen besucht hat, darf dann nicht fehlen. Es ist toll, Vertrautheit und Unbeschwertheit zu spüren – das macht Urlaub für mich aus.

he Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara is situated in the middle of the Liwa Oasis, surrounded by sand dunes measuring over 200 metres high and just 90 minutes away from Abu Dhabi Airport. The resort, where millennia-old desert culture meets the luxury typical of Anantara, has recently come under German management in the form of Adrian Stoppe. We talked to the experienced General Manager about his work, social media and the importance of home.

DELUXE: Germany, Austria, Thailand, Malaysia, Maldives and now Abu Dhabi: your hotel career has taken you to many exciting places. Where do you feel at home?

Adrian Stoppe: The world is my home. My profession enables me to get to know different countries and cultures. I feel very comfortable in the Emirates because as a father, the security and stability of a country is particularly important to me. Abu Dhabi has already been declared the safest city in the world several times over. It also only rains 5 or 6 times a year, so I am quite literally living on the sunny side of life.

DELUXE: The Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara is not the first hotel by this group that you’ve worked in. What distinguishes Anantara?

Adrian Stoppe: Each Anantara Resort is inspired by cultural traditions, historical heritage and the natural beauty of the destination. The quintessence of the Anantara experience is to promote passion, personal freedom and an awareness of the diverse cultures of our world.

DELUXE: This year, the Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort was named the most prestigious hotel in the world. A happy coincidence or a goal that they’ve been working towards?

Adrian Stoppe: We are very lucky that our unique location amidst endless sand dunes already makes for a great Instagram motif, but we also offer our guests plenty of opportunities for the perfect Instagram photo, from camel trekking to dune safaris to the Saluki dog show. Over 35,000 travellers voted for us in a survey by Luxury Travel Advisor and we are delighted to receive this award. This success inspires us to develop new ideas and we are proud that our guests share their experiences with us.

DELUXE: To what extent is social media responsible for the success of a hotel today?

Adrian Stoppe: I believe that social media plays a very important role when it comes to deciding where you want to spend your next holiday.

Contributions posted by guests are particularly important because they are especially credible.

Each post is a recommendation. People want to experience exactly what they have or seen online.

DELUXE: You work where others go on holiday.

What do a General Manager's own holidays look like?

Adrian Stoppe: I prefer to go back home: watch football with friends, eat meat loaf and Bavarian sausage with my family. Relax with a cool beer in summer or a mulled wine in winter. And a visit to the ice cream parlour round the corner that I used to visit as a child is also a must. It’s great to feel a sense of intimacy and be carefree – that’s what holidays are all about for me.

ith the opening of five new luxury suites and two rooms on the 8th floor of its existing building, the popular Hamburg lifestyle hotel Le Méridien Hamburg is celebrating the official completion of its renovation and extension phase, including its new building with conference centre and rooftop bar. “Guests probably get the best view of the Alster from here and can enjoy first-rate accommodation”, says General Manager Anton Birnbaum. Some of the new suites can be connected to each other, transforming the 113 square metre “Prestige Lake Suite”, “Lake Suite” and the “Executive Room” into a spacious 200 square metre residential complex – ideal for staycations or business stays. The special luxury suite concept uses curtains and sliding doors to dissolve the classic boundaries in the room ¬– rigid and conventional room structures no longer exist. At 113 square metres, the new Prestige Lake Suite – or Presidential Suite – is the largest of the suites at Le Méridien Hamburg. Designed and furnished in an original way with works of art by the Hungarian artist Bence Bakonyi, guests benefit from a spacious living area, a bedroom with walk-in wardrobe, a dining and study room, a private balcony overlooking the Alster and two bathrooms.
