District Champions!

Another stellar year for the Dragon soccer stars

Our record for the regular season was 5 wins, 0 losses and 2 ties. The team was undefeated! We placed first in the league which set us up to play our undefeated rival for the district championship. Our team stepped up to the pressure during a very rainy game, winning 5-0 and securing a state playoff spot. This was Delphian’s first hosted States game in nearly seven years. Winning again and moving on to the quarter-finals, we fought hard but lost in an overtime penalty shootout.

Delphian was awarded the Sportsmanship Award for the second year in a row. It can be very hard to keep your temper in check when other teams test you and push the boundaries. The whole team made a conscious effort the last couple of years to show grit through play, not words. Most importantly, the team learned what it takes to complete a goal. They learned how to do this as a group–together. They got to see first-hand all of the actions, thoughts, conversations, adjustments, corrections, practices, and inspections it takes to make their goal a reality. We are very proud of them! Go Dragons!
