Celebrating the class of 2012

After two years of disruptions due to the pandemic, Delphian alumni returned to campus in October for the first “normal” Alumni Weekend in three years. While alumni and faculty enjoyed returning to their yearly fall tradition, anyone who has attended Alumni Weekend can attest that “normal” is actually the last word that comes to mind. This feeling got staff thinking about the purpose of Alumni Weekend and newly appreciating what the weekend means to both attendees and for the Delphian School as an institution.

First, the number of Delphian alumni that attend the weekend is exceptional. For comparison, approximately 20% to 30% of an average American high school class will attend their ten-year high school reunion. At Delphian, 60% to 70% of every graduating class attends their tenyear reunion. Also, despite having an average graduating class of twenty-five students, nearly two hundred alumni in total from every decade of the school’s history attend Alumni Weekend every fall.

Clearly one major purpose of Alumni Weekend is to provide an opportunity for our former students to reconnect with the faculty and their friends. Alumni have described the sense of returning to Delphian to check on each other, the school, and its faculty as “coming home.”

Another vital purpose of Alumni Weekend is to help the school flourish and grow. Every fall many alumni attending the weekend take the opportunity to donate towards campus improvements or pledge to volunteer their time and expertise toward student and faculty projects. Alumni thus play an integral part in maintaining the school’s community and forwarding its mission: “to empower young adults to bring positive change in the world through reason, creativity and integrity.”

To all the alumni who attended this past fall – thank you for being a part of the thriving Delphian community. We hope to see everyone again next year!

New Delphian Alumni Website!

Staying connected is now easier than ever

This Alumni Weekend we were able to announce the launch of our alumni networking website, www.DelphianAlumni.org.

This new website is designed to bring the alumni community together as a powerful and supportive group. It allows alumni to connect directly with former classmates, offer and access mentorships, share job postings, access a business directory, and browse groupbased discussion boards that can be sorted by industry, interest or location.
