A Tribute to Steve Anderson
Delphian Alumnus and Late Chairman of the Board
In the 1980s, a few awards were given to students with outstanding characteristics who needed special recognition. Steve was one of those students. The Reliability Award was given for showing up and doing the work. It was presented to students who could be consistently counted on to contribute to the Delphian community by rolling up their sleeves and lending a hand. Steve received this award twice while enrolled at Delphian and continued to be highly deserving of it throughout his life.

After graduating from Delphian in 1987, Steve became a big player and supporter of the Delphian game in countless ways. He and his wife, Jennifer, did tremendous volunteer work for us, from hosting guests on campus to referring dozens of students to the school and assisting with admissions tours. Their two oldest daughters, Maxine and Maisee, are alumni, and their youngest daughter, Mila, is currently in her senior year.
Steve and his wife Jennifer were also leading contributors to nearly every fundraising campaign since 1992, moving up the donor categories each year to become Delphian Benefactors with Honors this past year. He and Jennifer sponsored the last several Parents Weekend fundraisers that raised pledges totaling more than $5 million.
In 2011, Steve took on even more ownership of the group and joined our board of trustees. He then became Chairman of the Board in June 2019, following the retirement of founding staff member and board chair, Greg Ott.

Beyond what he contributed to and for the school over the years, Steve always brought a verve and vitality with him. Those who knew him would say he lit up any room he entered with his bright smile, enthusiastic warmth, and the energy he carried. Steve was a big thinker and a doer, embodying everything Delphian stands for and more.
We will be eternally grateful for all of his contributions to the Delphian community.
