January 1 - NEW YEARS! January 12 - Conclave January 26 - Hoopscoming TBA: Park Cleanups Sandwich Making January Fundraiser

President’s Message Happy New Year Jellies! January marks the beginning of hundreds of new possibilities. It is a time of self reflection and new resolutions that will hopefully last until the end of the month. It is also time to elect our new Lieutenant Governor for the 2019-2020 term! LTGs will be elected at Conclave on January 12th at the Ronald McDonald House across the Rady Children’s Hospital. At Conclave, every club sends two delegates to hear speeches and vote for the candidate they believe will best serve our division. If you want to become a delegate and represent our club, please contact me expressing your interest as soon as possible! With the new year approaching, start it off strong by continuing to serve our community. I encourage you to come our park clean ups, sandwich making events, and more service opportunities. Please also be on the lookout for division events! There are many fun things in store for you. I hope you had a wonderful winter break and got to spend time with your loved ones. As we enter into 2019, strive to commit to your New Year Resolutions throughout the entire year. If you don’t believe in resolutions, don’t hesitate to start making a positive change in your life. Push yourself to get out of your comfort zone. Meet new people, try something you never done before, and make 2019 your year.

Editor’s Message Hey Jellies!

Welcome to 2019! Just because the last year has ended does not mean the service has to stop anytime soon. We still have a few months to go in this term so let’s strive to end strong and start the new term even stronger! I believe in each and every single one of you that you will all be able to reach all your goals. Where am I going with this exactly? It’s still only January, new year new you, new year new key clubbers :) You’ll see what I mean quite soon. I hope you all had an amazing winter break with hopefully (crossing my fingers) a lot of sleep, family time, and just made great memories in general. New Year’s Resolutions, they’re motivational and keep me going, It might be different for you reading this, but hey strive to make your goals come true as it’s 2019! Freshmen, you made it through half of your first year! I know all of you are doing amazing, keep it up keyuties. Stay involved and high school will sure have all the memories for you all! Sophomores, Half way through the first half of high school, phew. I know all of you are doing amazing (hopefully). Anyway we’re in this together, class of 2021 unite. Juniors, you all finished your first non do no harm final, well a few weeks ago but you get the point. It’s amazing how all of you stayed for service despite all that stress but I know you all are doing amazing. Seniors, one more semester to go for you all. I’m glad Key Club has been apart of most, if not some of these 3 ½ years you’ve spent here. Keep working hard Seniors! Class of 2019 will make it and I’ll be cheering you all on! For our club’s sake, I’d like to take this moment to thank all of you for our huge fundraising support, because as I calculate I’m in jaw drop mode. It’s one thing to put together fundraisers but it's another when attending them, because of all your support in attending and supporting our fundraisers we’ve had a huge increase in money raised so far in this term. I love you all and this would have never been possible without each and every single one of you. It’s election season, starting with Conclave in not too long, January 12th to be exact at the Ronald Mcdonald House. Come for an experience of a lifetime as you will get to witness our new Lieutenant Governor be put voted into office. To top off election season, start preparing for club elections its coming soon so be prepared if you’d like to be one of the next representatives of Del Lago Key Club for the 2019 - 2020 term!

“The derby was a really fun experience. It was so cute seeing all the little kids faces light up when they caught a fish. Also, was super fun being the person who caught the fishes with the net when the kids captured them. I would 100% do this again since I enjoyed it so much !! - Annalee Enriquez Del Lago Key Club Gneral Member

It’s important to support each other through stressful times. Finals season is one of those and thanks to our club we helped our fellow Juniors and Seniors through this tough time with some motivation. With too many to count sticky notes with sweet messages, cute doodles, and so much care put into them, our upperclassmen could take one from one of the two posters we made to feel that sense of care and motivation throughout the day. We had four amazing jellies working on the beautiful posters which had so much creativity poured into them. For the sticky notes, all of our members in attendance at that wednesday meeting helped and made them all with again so much care put into each and every single one. 9

A month is never complete without a fundraiser, this month we teamed up with SEA and created an unforgettable event with the grinch, hot chocolate, some yummy popcorn, and don’t forget ramen on that cold day. We made some amazing memories that day and bonded with one another. After the movie we had a spontaneous karaoke session where we really joined as one to have some fun with each other.

Who knew the jellies and orcas could have so much fun together? Take it back to FRS 2017 our two divisions sure know how to have a good time. Our club along with Mission Hills, Sage Creek, and El Camino had an unforgettable “Keysmas. Including a ping pong tournament, white elephant, and a gingerbread house contest. The memories of just being with each other helped all four of our clubs bond to create new friendships and so much more!

From before sunrise to sundown we worked hard on the Rose Parade Floats for 2019. We spent hours with each other working on amazing floats. We reached new heights, literally. For some it was their first time climbing on the tall scaffolding, some were already used to it. It was a new experience for everyone in one way or another and we hope you’ll join us next year for this fun event. Trust us, you’ll love it as much as we did this year!
