Message From Our Editor Hey Jellies

It’s 2018! Unbelievable right? December was an absolutely great month for us with fun, service, and yes, reaching 400 service hours within our club! Have a nice rest of your winter break and I’ll see you all back in school and at our next meeting. Stay warm and don’t let the frost bite you while the winter season is still at full blast. Even in sunny San Diego it gets a little chilly. So I’ll end this note by saying Happy New Year, We made it through 2017! Let’s make 2018 unforgettable.

Where Region 1.5 came together, to learn all about being an LTG and how to possibly become the next one.

Candidate Training Conference was a very interesting learning experience. Within the few hours we were there, we got to know and spend time with other key clubbers as well as learn more about the role of the Lieutenant Governor and become even more appreciative of the work our LTGs do for our divisions and region. It was inspiring seeing a lot of individuals so passionate about Key Club! I'm glad got to talk with them about this amazing organization and how it motivates us to get out of our comfort zones to serve our community.

Please join us along with D21 & D37S on January 13th for Conclave @Rady Children’s Hospital to witness the election of 2018-2019 LTGs. More information is on our division’s instagram @d37ejellies

CTC was a very enlightening event that I'm glad I went to. had seen the things that our current LTG did for our division and it inspired me to consider the position myself! Going to CTC, it showed me truly how much an LTG really does. There are alot of time consuming responsibilities that have a lot of deadlines and that need alot of your attention, time, and energy! Before learning all this, I knew that it was going to be hard work, but really seeing and going through all the things that needed attending really opened my eyes. wasnt able to attend all of CTC but from what I experienced CTC was a very warm and welcoming event. Everyone was nice and friendly and everyone just seemed ready to learn and really serious about becoming LTG for their division. After watching long presentations we were able to separate into groups and talk about our inspiration and why LTG was something we wanted to become. For me personally, my reason was because becoming a member of key club and actually being on the board allowed me to become a big part of the community and seeing everything that our division does to help out, really makes me happy and proud and feel like I could make a big impact on the my own home club as well as the others. my home club is small and we struggle with getting members becoming involved, but the people we do have are so dedicated and hardworking and are amazing people, and I want to be able to work with more people like that! I want to be able to bring our clubs together to word hard and become a stronger family. I want everyone to feel welcomed and to understand that we will always have each others backs because that's what it means to be a jellyfish!

She Loves Me As the doors opened for the first showing of Del Lago’s Winter Musical, She Loves Me, some of our members got the chance to see an amazing show that Thursday night. Supporting DLA KC’s very own Savannah Ruiz and Brianna Virabouth. 8

Rose Float 2017

Nothing better than doing some service, we traveled from before sunrise, for an experience we’ll never forget. There were so many various jobs that needed to be finished throughout the day. Getting to climb up to the top of a float is something we all definitely don’t do on a daily basis, so it’s fun to get out there while also helping out. In the end it feels great to have helped and to grow closer to fellow club members. Rose Float is definitely an experience you’ll at least want to try once.

A nice way to end the year with our club. We had a potluck, watched a movie, and of course a service event to top it all off. We worked hard to make dog toys that afternoon and it was well worth our time. A special shoutout to past DLA KC presidents, Brandon Vinzon (2015-2016) and Alyssa Ramirez (2016-2017) for joining us and making this event a little bit more memorable.
