From The President Dear De La Salle Collegiate Family, Merry Christmas! On behalf of all of us at De La Salle Collegiate, I want to wish you and your loved ones a blessed and peaceful Christmas. This issue of The Collegiate is our small gift to you. What makes this issue so special are the many stories found within the issue that highlight the great spirit of generosity that exists among so many in our community. In particular this issue of The Collegiate highlights our alumni and the many good works they have been participating in over the past few months. In the midst of all of the outside noise that permeates our lives during this time of year lies the reality that the greatest gift of all, God’s own son Jesus, entered our world and in doing so forever changed the course of history. In our own small and ordinary ways, we too are called to be a gift to one another and to make an impact in our world. How do we do that? We make an impact in our world every time we reach beyond ourselves and lend a hand, say a kind word or pray for another, especially to and for those who are at the margins of our society. Just as the infant Jesus came into our world in the most ordinary, unexpected way, we too can be a gift to one another in ways both simple, small and yet so impactful. Our alumni and friends who are featured in this issue of The Collegiate are exemplars of what lies at the heart of a Lasallian secondary education – the Gospel values of Jesus. Thank you for being a gift to our community during this past year. The many simple, small and yet oh so meaningful ways you have shown your support for our mission has made all the difference in the lives of our students, faculty, staff, and administration. As 2017 draws near, rest assured of our continued commitment to the five core values of a Lasallian secondary education and rest assured of our commitment to strive to be a gift to one another and to our world.
