Alumni Serve as Admissions Ambassadors

The task of keeping De La Salle Collegiate’s enrollment full is a year-round project. Our Admissions Office team - Admissions Assistant, Kevin Fitzhenry, ‘03, Andrea Mason, Administrative Assistant, and myself as Director of Admissions - all work together to keep prospective families informed about all the great opportunities to visit De La Salle, learn about our curriculum, and most importantly, what it means to become a Pilot. The team also includes a much wider team including the Advancement Office, the Academic School with its faculty and staff, the students, parents (both past and present), and our amazing alumni. All of these people keep the school in front of everyone’s minds because of their #PilotPride. However, our newest team members are the Admissions Ambassadors, a volunteer group that include parents of current students and recent graduates. This group of dedicated volunteers assists at all Admissions events to share their unique Lasallian story and how De La Salle Collegiate has benefited their sons. Many of these Ambassadors have the added perspective of also being an alumnus. Current parents and alumni Jim Bostock, ‘89, and Peter Haun, ‘89, both agreed they wanted to continue spreading the great work of De La Salle. Even though many of the faces have changed since they were students, the quality of education and the strength of the character development for students has never wavered. If you have not been to an Admissions event and met one of these great people, consider attending an upcoming Coffee Talk (Jan. 6, Feb. 10, April 7, May 5) or the Summer Camp Expo on Sunday, May 21 (see flyer on page 24). Both events are great chances to learn about the great things happening at De La Salle Collegiate while meeting some of the great parents that make our school such a special place. Apply Now - For a Lifetime of Benefits

If you have a young man at home in 8th grade, there is still time to apply. Did you know 80% of the Class of 2016, our most recent graduates, received at least one college scholarship? So often families never apply due to fear of the tuition, but De La Salle Collegiate commits over $1.6 million in Tuition Assistance grants annually. Many of those dollars go to families in your own communities. We know a family of four is very often going to need help to afford to send their sons here, and we are committed to helping all families afford a Lasallian education. However, a family needs to be accepted before we can go through the tuition assistance review process. To apply, families should visit the website at delasallehs.com, and click on the Future Pilots tab. From there, they will be prompted each step of the way. Contact our Admissions Office at 586.541.6220 or admissions@delasallehs.com with any questions.

De La Salle Collegiate Shines at Open House

The 2016 Open House was another great success! We gathered over 300 names from prospective Pilots this year! That is a record setting number! The families in attendance were able to meet all of the teachers, moderators, coaches and school leaders of the various programs that their sons are interested in. Visit delasallehs.com to see a wonderful recap video of the event.
