Engagement
De La Salle parents play a large part in ensuring our boys experience excellence here at De La Salle.
Our volunteer opportunities are designed so that parents can choose how to give back to the school in a way that will not interfere with their day to day lives. We encourage our parents to stay involved with the school whether it be joining Moms’ or Dads’ club, volunteering for a specific event, or following and interacting on social media!
The inherent value of volunteers cannot be debated. One of the things that makes De La Salle Collegiate so special is that there are so many people who are willing to give their time and energy to volunteer for our sons’ sake. The hours donated are given from the heart and they are performed with love. The Board, the CBA, the Dads’ Club, Music Boosters, and many other parent-led groups are dedicated and determined to make De La Salle the best high school that it can be.
We thank you for your commitment to De La Salle, we could not do it without you!

Volunteer

Parents and friends who wish to volunteer at De La Salle are required every 3 years to complete a background check. This is for all parents who volunteer at school in any way – chaperoning events, field trips, Dads Club, CBA functions, Band Boosters, WAMS volunteers, Senior All-Night party, etc.
If you are able to volunteer, please remember that you are truly appreciated even when we don’t see you in action or we forget to stop you that day to tell you. You are a very important part of our school community.

Christian Brothers Auxiliary (CBA)
The Christian Brothers Auxiliary, our mothers’ club, is built on traditions that date back to 1926 when the founding women gathered to meet the needs of the Christian Brothers who were here to educate the young men in the Detroit area.
From that time, the CBA has expanded its mission to include fundraising events to support the needs of the school and its students. The CBA is proud to have contributed over $1.7 million since 1982.
Just as in the past, the CBA today is made up of many dedicated women, from freshmen moms to the more experienced members who stay on long after their sons have graduated. In addition, grandmothers, aunts, friends, and siblings of current or former students are also members.
The CBA meets monthly during the school year. The wonderful feeling of accomplishment and the rewards of many lifelong friendships are only two of the reasons that members enjoy being part of the CBA.

Did you know?
• CBA established the Christian Brothers Auxiliary Endowment Scholarship in the spring of 2017 with a donation of $25,500. In 2018, the CBA donated an additional $2,500 to the fund.
• In Sept. 2017, the CBA established the CBA Angels Fund providing additional tuition assistance with a donation of $25,000. Another $35,000 was added to the fund in May 2018.
• CBA provides a current year’s tuition (plus $1,000) through its longstanding Co-Pilot Scholarship.
• CBA provided $17,000 to purchase and install new heating and cooling units in the Brother Robert Activity Center in March 2017.
• CBA provided $7,500 in assistance for the 2018 De La Salle March for Life pilgrimage to Washington, D.C., which allowed a large group of De La Salle students to live their faith.

The official mission of the De La Salle Dads Club is:
• To support and further the Lasallian mission of the De La Salle Christian Brothers and De La Salle Collegiate.
• To foster a closer relationship between the Fathers and the De La Salle Christian Brothers.
• To maintain high standards of Fatherly interest in the students’ scholastic, spiritual, social, and athletic affairs.
• To assist in the maintenance and improvement of the physical plant and grounds.
• To create and maintain a social bond among the members.
• To encourage the participation of all new and inactive members as possible.

Dads’ Club
The De La Salle Collegiate Dads’ Club is 70-plus years of being Men of Service, Men of Faith. But most importantly, being a part of the Dads Club means you are choosing to take an active role in your sons complete De La Salle experience, from the moment he walks in the door, to the moment he leaves.
You are leading by example for your sons that volunteering your time and talents is one of the most important ways to foster a true Lasallian community. Our membership is open to dads, stepfathers, grandfathers, uncles, or any adult male figure who serves as a vital male role model to any one of our students. There is no cost to be a member of the Dads Club other than your time and talents. Dads’ Club Meetings are the fourth Monday of the month.
