School News Making a Difference - Pilots in the Community
During Senior Service Day in mid-October, seniors provided service at their home Catholic grade schools, at a farm gathering tomatoes for Forgotten Harvest, or at the Forgotten Harvest warehouse in Oak Park. The students pictured here, along with faculty members Eric Leichtnam (far left) and Chris Ulewicz (far right), spent the day sorting food at the warehouse and repacking for distribution through Forgotten Harvest’s network of mobile food trucks and food centers.
Despite the intense Pilot rivalry with Catholic Central, the De La Salle Family came together in a “Blue Out” day to raise funds for an injured Shamrock hockey player. The DLS effort raised over $3,000. Pictured are seniors Liam Williams, Nelson Leonard, and Jacob Bemiss with Br. Tom Lackey.
