Sam Santilli, ‘57. August 31, 2013. Edward Stevens, ‘50. June 9, 2013. Ed attended the U.S. Naval Academy, and a 1952 Gold Medalist as part of the USA Rowing Team, “The Great Eight.” Following the Helsinki Olympics, the team toured Russia on a four week goodwill tour. The Great Eight never lost a race over their four years at the Naval Academy. Ed was a Hall of Fame member of the International Rowing Association and was inducted into the DLS Hall of Fame in October 2004. Trained as a nuclear engineer, he worked with Admiral Rickover in developing the nuclear submarine fleet. Following his naval career, Ed worked for Westinghouse, in Richland, WA. He passed away in Phoenix, AZ.

John Sokolosky, ‘74. October 16, 2013. Brother of George Sokolosky, ‘81, and uncle of Karl Sokolosky, ‘15. Also uncle of Justin Kraski, ‘04, and Christian Kraski, ‘06. After playing college football at Wayne State University, John was long snapper for the Detroit Lions for one year. He continued coaching football in the area. John was voted into the 2014 Wayne State University Sports Hall of Fame.
