Alumni News Brian Banas, ‘94, has been promoted to Lt. Col. in the Air Force JAG. He obtained his law degree at the University of Notre Dame and a Master’s in Cyber Communications and Space Law from the University of Nebraska. Tom Borowiak, ‘74, relocated last year to the Albany, NY area, where he is working as Clinical Technology Director at the Albany Medical Center. Patrick Davis, ‘07, is completing Ph.D. studies in Mathematics at Central Michigan University. Brian Drozdowski, ‘93, practices Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in Holland, MI. He has six children. Marty Dobson, ‘03, is now a licensed realtor with Real Living Kee Realty. He lives in Warren, MI. Paul Evancho, ‘82, is a USMC veteran, and a fire captain for the City of Yuma Fire Department. He also makes his home in Yuma, AZ. Tim Gasko, ‘78, is employed at the Shelby Township Meijer. He recently spent six years as a volunteer mentor at Macomb County’s Juvenile Justice Center. Tim says, “It is very helpful for kids to have a sensible ear listening.” Tim still plays tennis. He was All State Tennis NJCAA 1979, and is a certified tennis professional. He has taught tennis for 25 years in the Detroit area, using “some of the many skills I learned at DLS, like determination, perseverance, and trust.” Tim lives in Clinton Township.
Matt Molinaro, ‘14, now a junior at Ohio Northern University, was runner up in the 800 meter run at the NCAA Division 3 Indoor Track & Field National Championships. He missed first by .5 seconds. Brad Napiorkowski, ‘01, is a manager at JP Morgan Securities. He married in the Fall of 2016, and lives in Berwyn, IL. He and his wife are expecting their first child. Gordon Pocialik, ‘03, lives in Naples, FL, and practices dentistry on Marco Island, and in Naples and Fort Myers. He and his wife Nicole have two sons. Don Pollie, ‘67, recently retired from a large sporting goods store where he worked as a buyer for 32 years. He and his wife Mary have lived in Maine for the last 26 years. Two of his children live nearby, and another son is an emergency medicine doctor in Padre Island, TX. Don makes his winter home in Sebastian, FL, and says, “We are always open to visitors here in Maine or in Florida!” Chris Scalise, ‘90, is currently working as an IT Operations Specialist for the Dean’s Office of the College of Fine, Performing, and Communication Arts at Wayne State University. Chris lives in Oak Park, MI.
Roger Goebel, ‘53, has taught corporate law at the Fordham University School of Law in New York City for the last 35 years, after 17 years of international business law practice, primarily in Paris, France. He is the lead co-author of the 4 edition of Goebel, Fox, Atik, Emmert, and Gerard, European Law (2015). Recently, classmate Gordon Black, a poet and director of poetry symposia in Mendocino, CA, visited Roger. Ed Mauch, ‘95, has been working as a radiologist in Port Huron, MI, for the last seven years. He and his wife make their home in Harrison Township, and have two children.
Ken Holman (‘93) and Brian Simpson (‘94) crossed paths on a business trip to Mexico in February 2017. Brian and his family recently moved from Chicago to Grosse Pointe, MI.
