Yellow Dragon Gena is excited to return to DCT! Her previous work on the DCT stage includes Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (Babette), The Island of the Skog (Hannah), and Ella Enchanted: The Musical (Olive). Blue Dragon / Dance Captain Ania Lyons is so happy to return to the DCT stage! Most recently she has returned to LIVE THEATRE in Dallas Theater Center’s A Christmas Carol (Female Swing) and Theatre Three’s touring production of The Music Man (Zaneeta Shinn). RYAN RAMIREZ Red Dragon

Ryan is thrilled to make his debut at DCT! He is a graduate of KD Conservatory.

His recent work onstage includes Ebenezer Scrooge (Belle’s Husband and Old Joe).

He’s worked with theaters such as Garland Summer Musicals, Rockwall Summer Musicals and the Oklahoma Shakespearian Festival. He wants to thank his family and Partner, Tyler, for all of their support!

ETHAN RODRIGUEZ-MULLINS** The Boy

Ethan is absolutely thrilled to be back at Dallas Children’s Theater after all of the worldwide disasters. He was last seen at DCT in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (LeFou) and the national tour of Diary of a Worm, a Spider & a Fly (Spider). He has music directed Godspell at CORP, Addams Family at NTPA, and Park-A-Palooza ll at Collin College. Favorite roles include: Grease (Doody) and Gypsy (Yonkers) at The Firehouse Theatre; Hello, Dolly! (Barnaby Tucker) at Garland Summer Musicals; The Yellow Boat (Benjamin) at Resolute Theatre Project; and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Chip) at Collin Theatre Center. He would love to thank his friends and family for their love, support, patience, and strength.

MICHAEL L. SALINAS** White Dragon

Michael is excited to make his debut at Dallas Children’s Theater! His previous credits include Selena Maria Sings! KARL SCHAEFFER* The Man

Karl has appeared in 125 DCT productions including the 2019-20 season opener Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and his last appearance was as an understudy in Schoolhouse Rock Live! in 2020. Karl is DCT’s first employee and has portrayed two Dragons; Gryff in the 2007 production of Sleeping Beauty and Socrates the Dragon in the 2014 show Rapunzel! Rapunzel A Very Hairy Fairy Tale. He can guarantee the Dragons he played also love tacos. He also performed with Dallas Theater Center, Shakespeare Dallas, and Theatre Three. Karl is an Artist-in-Residence at DCT and teaches the following classes: Acting, Makin’ Movies, and Blue Pegasus Players for the DCT Academy.

GERALD TAYLOR II* The Dog

Gerald feels overjoyed to be back at Dallas Children’s Theater! He has been seen in the DCT productions of The Snowy Day and Other Stories by Ezra Jack Keats (Peter) and The Very Hungry Caterpillar Christmas Show. He also appeared in the National Tours for The BFG (Big Friendly Giant) and Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters: An African Tale (The King). He was in the world premiere of Denise Lee’s Funny, You Don’t Act Like A Negro at Theatre Three. Gerald just completed his first A Christmas Carol at the Dallas Theater Center (Mr. Fezziwig). Mark is super excited to come back to DCT! Mark is a creative artist that has worked in DFW for the past 10 years. MEET THE ARTISTIC / PRODUCTION STAFF ROBYN FLATT DCT Founder and Executive Director Robyn Flatt co-founded DCT in 1984 with start-up funds of $500. Under her artistic leadership, the theater’s creative and operational stature has grown over the past 37 years to reflect its current annual budget of more than $4 million. Her theatrical career has brought her acclaim as a professional director, actor and lighting designer. During her tenure as a member of the Dallas Theater Center Resident Company, she served as Assistant Artistic Director and Director of Theater-in-the-Parks. She holds a MA degree from Baylor University and studied under Paul Baker, Juana Laban, and Hanya Holm. Ms. Flatt’s many acting credits include two roles she created for award-winning world premiere productions: Dewey Dell in Journey to Jefferson and Martha Ann Sickenger in Preston Jones’ The Oldest Living Graduate. Her directing credits at DCT include several world premiere adaptations by Linda Daugherty of Steven Kellogg’s stories which have also toured nationally. Other critically acclaimed productions include: Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Miracle Worker, And Then They Came For Me, To Kill a Mockingbird, Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters: An African Tale, Treasure Island Reimagined!, and Yana Wana’s Legend of the Bluebonnet. She has served on the boards of AATE, ASSITEJ/USA, and CTFA. She is a recipient of The 500, Inc.’s prestigious Ken Bryant Visionary Award, Dallas Historical Society’s 1999 Excellence in Community Service for Creative Arts, the 2002 Leon Rabin Standing Ovation Award, and the Excellence in Nonprofit Management Award. Ms. Flatt is a member of the College of Fellows of American Theatre and served 5 years as Treasurer of the Children’s Theatre Foundation of America. She was nominated by The Dallas Morning News arts staff for the Texan of the Year Award in both 2010 and 2015, and was honored in 2016 with the Orlin Corey Award for Artistic Excellence from the American Alliance for Theater and Education.

NANCY SCHAEFFER Artistic Director, Production Director and Choreographer Nancy has directed numerous DCT productions including Schoolhouse Rock Live!; Disney’s Beauty and the Beast; Ella Enchanted: The Musical; Magic Tree House’s Holiday Musical: A Ghost Tale for Mr. Dickens; Goosebumps the Musical: Phantom of the Auditorium; Junie B. Jones Is Not a Crook; Teen Brain: The Musical; Skippyjon Jones; Rapunzel! Rapunzel! A Very Hairy Fairy Tale; Go, Dog. Go!; Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat; Pinkalicious, The Musical; How I Became a Pirate; dont u luv me?; Madeline’s Christmas; EAT (It’s Not About Food); Goodnight Moon; The Secret Life of Girls; and 12 productions of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Nancy also directed DCT’s highly successful touring production of The Stinky Cheeseman and Other Fair(l)y (Stoopid) Tales which toured the U.S. and then traveled to Shanghai, China, playing at the 2006 Shanghai International Children’s Culture and Arts Expo. Nancy has directed for The Dallas Opera and Shared Stories for the Sixth Floor Museum. She has also directed the Christmas Celebration for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. She serves as DCT’s Education Director and Artistic Director.

ADAM C. WRIGHT Composer Adam is a local composer, vocal arranger, orchestrator, and performer. He has been music directing in the Dallas Metroplex since 1997, including the U.S. premieres of Soho Cinders and Closer to Heaven at Uptown Players, as well as productions at Theatre Three, Contemporary Theatre of Dallas, and MainStage Irving-Las Colinas. Previous productions at DCT include Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type; Junie B. Jones; Diary of a Worm, a Spider & a Fly; The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley; and Fancy Nancy: The Musical. Original projects include Fire and Blood with book and lyrics by Andy Long, which premiered in October 2013 at Richland College; A Taste of Beauty; Project Youth; Another Night at the Crescent; Isabella’s Treasure; and a stage adaptation of If a Frog Had Wings, a children’s book by Beth Ryan and Michael Albee. Adam is on the teaching faculty of Dallas Children’s Theater, and is an accompanist and co-teacher for the musical theater classes at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, Richland College, Mountain View College, and KD College. He was Betty Buckley’s Dallas rehearsal pianist for her 2012 cabaret show The Other Woman: The Vixens of Broadway.

MEET THE ARTISTIC / PRODUCTION STAFF JOSH SMITH Scenic and Projections Designer Josh Smith is a UT Arlington alumnus where he graduated magna cum laude with a BFA in design. He has been involved in the design and build of theatrical productions since 2003 with experience in a variety of styles from straight plays to surreal to light opera. He is proud to serve as part of this fantastic company and has been part of the DCT family since 2013.

AARON JOHANSEN Lighting Designer Aaron Johansen is pleased to be returning to Dallas Children’s Theater!! Previous collaborations have included: Dallas Theater Center; Second Thought Theatre (Artistic Associate/Resident Lighting Designer); Kitchen Dog Theater (Company Member); Stage West; Uptown Players; Cry Havoc Theater Company; Theatre Three; and Sweet Tooth Hotel Art installation. Aaron recently became the co-lighting director for The Drone Racing League where he lights drone races for television around the country. Follow my work and me on Instagram: @Famoustrendywizard. MARCO SALINAS Sound Designer Marco has designed many, MANY shows for DCT over the last 22 years. He is also a recipient of numerous awards for his sound design work in the Dallas/Fort Worth theater scene, and has designed for shows as far away as New York City and even Ireland. He is also the Director of Educational Tours with Shakespeare Dallas where he writes and directs local area tours that teach children and teens about William Shakespeare.

TAYLOR SOLICE Props Designer Taylor is so excited to be working on her first production with Dallas Children’s Theater! Her previous work includes serving as a Props Master for productions at Stephen F. Austin State University such as Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Intimate Apparel, and Mr. Burns, a Post-Electric Play. She currently works full time in administration for Dallas Black Dance Theatre. She’d like to thank her family, friends, and boyfriend for always supporting her passion for theatre!

LYLE HUCHTON Costume Designer Lyle has been a working costumer in the Dallas area for over 25 years. He has designed over 30+ shows for Dallas Children’s Theater. Some of his favorites include Ella Enchanted: The Musical; Treasure Island Reimagined!; Jungalbook; James and the Giant Peach; Junie B. Jones Is Not a Crook; The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane; Pinkalicious, The Musical; Tuck Everlasting; and Rapunzel! Rapunzel! A Very Hairy Fairy Tale.

Other regional credits include The Dallas Opera, Dallas Theater Center, Shakespeare Dallas, San Antonio Opera, and The Dallas Arboretum’s The 12 Days of Christmas. National tours for HIT Entertainment include Barney Live! and The Wiggles. He also worked on the locally produced PBS television show, Barney and Friends, receiving two Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Costume Design/Styling.

He is in his 8th year as the Resident Costume Designer/Costume Shop Manager here at Dallas Children’s Theater.

SALLY FIORELLO Puppetry Design, Construction, & Direction Sally is a Master Puppeteer, director and designer with the critically acclaimed Kathy Burks Theatre of Puppetry Arts. She has designed and performed in over 45 original puppet productions including such DCT favorites as The Nutcracker and The Tale of Peter Rabbit. For Dallas Children’s Theater, she has served as a director, designer and consultant for numerous productions and performed roles in The Velveteen Rabbit (Mistress); The Mummy’s Claw (Rula); hard 2 spel dad (Mrs. Donahue) and many others. Sally is a recipient of the Dallas-Forth Worth Theatre Critics Forum Award.

DWIGHT SANDELL* Stage Manager Dwight works as an actor and as a stage manager. DCT acting credits include The Island of the Skog (Wooster), Charlotte’s Web (Templeton), and The Surprising Story of the Three Little Pigs (Pig #3). Stage management credits include The Very Hungry Caterpillar Christmas Show, Ella Enchanted: The Musical, Junie B. Jones Is Not a Crook, Balloonacy, and Madeline’s Christmas.
