Dodge County shows off economic variety and vitality at the Expo Saturday

Cooperating Dodge County Chambers of Commerce and community clubs present the 15th Annual Dodge County Expo on Saturday, April 13 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Triton School in Dodge Center. Admission is FREE. This is one of the largest home and business expositions in southeastern Minnesota but is unique in that only Dodge County businesses and organizations are allowed to participate. More than 100 exhibitors ranging from heavy industrial manufacturing and agriculture to health care and home cleaning services are on hand to offer a glimpse of the range of economic variety that keeps Dodge County growing. Everything gets started at 8 a.m. with the $1 Farmers' Share Breakfast, a complete breakfast of eggs, toast, sausage and beverages priced at what today's farmers get for producing the food. Of course, there are other treats to eat throughout the day, both free samples from exhibitors and lunches for sale in the cafeteria. Riley is a spunky little guy with a lot of love to give to his forever home. He's an 11month-old Pekingese Mix who weighs about 19 pounds. He's a very unique looking guy, with an adorable face, an extra-long body and a beautiful red and white coat. Riley was surrendered as a puppy because he had some behavior issues and nipped at a family member in his first home. But with consistent training in his current foster home, he's doing great and learning to be a polite, well behaved boy. Riley loves to play like any normal puppy, and his favorite toys are his tug rope and his small rubber ball. He's always excited to play fetch, and is a fast learner... after a few weeks he's already learned to dance, shake and lay down. He loves bones, snuggling on the couch, and finding a warm sunny spot for afternoon naps. Riley is fully house-broken and does great on a regular schedule. He loves long walks, and is learning not to pull on his leash. He's very curious and wants to sniff everything. Riley does well meeting other small dogs in controlled settings-when attending family events with other pets or at the neighborhood dog park. He will do best in a home where there are no small children. The right forever home for Riley will have lots of patience and willingness to continue with his training. At 11 months old, he tends to express himself with his mouth and is still learning that even gentle bites are not appropriate. Riley is apprehensive about meeting men, but warms right up after slow, positive introductions to new people. He’s very affectionate after he feels comfortable! Riley is such a cutie and will make a great addition to the family! He’s neutered, microchipped, and up to date with rabies and distemper. He’s also parasite and heartworm free. Kasson Hardware Hank, Rental & Gifts, 32 years and counting! Small towns and family owned businesses go hand in hand. Brothers Greg and Troy Kuball are second generation owners of Kasson Hardware Hank, Rental & Gifts and Pine Island Hardware Hank, Rental & Gifts. Their parents, Milt and Nancy Kuball, bought Kasson Hardware Hank more than 32 years ago, November 15, 1980. The last 13 of those years have been at the current location. Troy manages the Pine Island store. Greg, who runs the Kasson store, said they would not have been able to expand and survive without support of the local people. "We have people tell us all the time they like our store and the selection," said Greg. "We try and keep a wide selection of merchandise." He adds that the most satisfying comment they receive is when ladies come into the store and say, "We love your store". Greg feels that if the business had remained downtown they could have survived, but not thrived. The present location has allowed allowed Kasson Hardware Hank, to expand their product line and become Kasson Hardware Hank, Rental & Gifts. "We strive to give people a positive shopping experience and stock what the customer wants. Why would you want to go somewhere else to shop?" asked Greg. He adds that the emphasis is on keeping a variety of inventory and great customer service. "When a customer comes in and asks a question about a product or project they are doing, our staff is knowledgable and can answer their questions," said Greg. With the reality of spring fast approaching Kasson Hardware Hank Rental & Gifts is gearing up for one of the the two busiest times of the year (the other is the Christmas holiday). Rest assured there will be no waiting in long lines, parking is easy and there is friendly customer service at no extra charge!
Since building a new store 13 years ago Kasson Hardware Hank has been able to expand to Kasson Hardware Hank, Rental & Gifts.
Customer service is a priority at Kasson Hardware Hank. Fritz Olson, helping a customer at the checkout, has helpful knowledge on many store products.
