ournalists of Pasay City National Science High School proved once again that they can compete with the very best from the National Capital Region (NCR) as they seized awards in the last Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC), held at Aurora A. Quezon Elementary School in Manila, October 19, 2019. Mico Guadaña clinched the 6th spot in Pagsulat ng Editoryal with his article about the Build, Build, Build program’s risk and implications. “It’s very tough to win in the RSPC and I’m really grateful to my family, friends, trainers, and most especially to God,” Guadaña said. For Feature Writing, Sjienlee Marie Delia and her article on Jeepney Modern-
ization that focused on the perspectives of a jeepney driver about this pending act bagged the 9th place. “I’m very happy and shocked because it was very unexpected. Definitely my biggest achievement so far,” said Delia. Both Guadaña and Delia were competing for their final year and they said that winning such awards became more special and sentimental for them. For the Group Contest, Isabela Manalo won 3rd in Best Script, 6th in Best in Technical Application, and 4th Place Overall in Radio Broadcasting and Scriptwriting. Dave Gerobin and Mark Tangonan took home the 3rd Place in Best Technical Application, 6th in Best Script, and 6th Overall for Radio Broadcasting and Scriptwriting – Filipino.
