This year’s lineup features Old Shoe, Sam Bush Band, Todd Snider and more. Stay on site in one of Camp Shaw Waw Nas See’s cabins or pull up your RV in a reserved spot.
Chicago
Punk rock takes center stage in Douglas Park at Riot Fest! See legendary punk bands like Taking Back Sunday, The Starting Line, and Pennywise during this three day festival. Need to escape a stage for a bit? Head to the on-site rock n’ roll carnival (with rides!) and nosh on local eats.
Chicago
Chicago’s biggest music festival, Lollapalooza, is back for another 4-day set that you don’t want to miss. Located in Grant Park, this year’s lineup features The Strokes, The Chainsmokers, Childish Gambino, Twenty One Pilots, and Ariana Grande. Chicago’s delectable cuisine is at the ready in Chow Town and features Chicago’s favorite restaurants like Billy Goat Tavern, Broken English Taco Pub, and Harold’s Chicken.
Chicago
13-29)
This citywide musical experience takes over Chicago for 11 days and boasts more than 60 artists and ensembles from over 25 countries. Check out one of 20 venues including Millennium Park and Chicago Cultural Center to see and hear some bigname acts as well as emerging artists from a variety of genres.
Champaign
26-29)
For 15 years, the Pygmalion Music Festival has offered not only incredible live music, but other disciplines like literature, comedy, and technology. Last year’s musical lineup featured Frankie Cosmos, Whitney, Palyboi Carti and much more, while their author presenters included Safiya Noble and Elizabeth Acevedo. A portion of all proceeds from Pygmalion will be donated to Josh’s Fund, a scholarship fund for nurses training in oncology.
Any excuse to dine out is valid, but sometimes a special occasion like a birthday, anniversary, or promotion is all the more reason to up the ante. Concierge love these six Chicago eateries are perfect to celebrate life’s greatest moments.
Celebrate with everyone at Publican, where global brews, communal tables, and creative seafood and pork-focused dishes are the name of the game. There’s something for everyone on the menu, from oysters, to veggie dishes, to seafood, and a bunch of meat options. Can’t decide? Let the chef make up an eclectic multi-course menu just for you!
Sit back and relax at this posh Gold Coast go-to. Led by two-Michelin star Chef Danny Grant, Maple + Ash is a hotspot for wood fired steaks and seafood like the 28 day dryaged bone-in ribeye and the whole roasted branzino. Treat yourself to a Butcher’s Reserve that includes the Snake River Waygu Strip and the Eisenhower - a 40oz cut.
Carnivale’s festive, energetic vibe and incredible eats just scream ‘celebration’! There’s always something to see while you dine, like Salsa dancers and stunning artwork you don’t want to miss. Try the Rum Cured Salmon or the Lechon Asado and follow it up with one of their oh-so’grammable desserts like the organic cotton candy or the Cuban cigar.
A 2019 Michelin star winner, North Pond offers a gorgeous setting to complement locally-sourced menu items like halibut, pork tenderloin, and rabbit. Looking to try a little bit of everything? Indulge in their seasonal tasting menu where you can bite into five dishes with delicious flavor combos - don’t forget to add the expert wine pairing!
Classic steak and seafood with a sophisticated, upscale vibe and a robust wine list make Ocean Prime a...well, a ‘prime’ spot to clink your glass. Choose from a variety of sushi rolls, indulge in the raw bar, and sink your teeth into a filet and some sides - smoked gouda tater tots anyone?
Views on views on views! Head up to the top of Lake Point Tower to experience stunning panoramic, 360 degree views of the city and lakefront and enjoy upscale American food with French influences. From caviar service to the main course (try the Lobster Tail or the Maple Leaf Duck Breast!) Cite is an all-encompassing celebration haven.
Chopped white onions, bright green sweet pickle relish, a dill pickle spear, tomatoes, pickled sport peppers, a dash of celery salt, and of course, mustard: To an outsider, this is an unlikely medley of toppings to put on a hot dog. To a Chicagoan, these are the flavors of home. Whether you’re a Chicago native, transplant, or are just here for a weekend, Chicago is teeming with both traditional and modern takes on the Chi-town classics that everyone must try (just please, don’t ask for ketchup).
This Lincoln Park staple serves up the classics like the Chicago Style Hot Dog and the Maxwell Street Polish, but you do not want to miss out on their specialty dogs! The Snoop Dog is a smorgasbord of homemade chili, colby cheese, and onion, while the T Frank Hot Dog is a palette perk of cream cheese, avocado, bacon, and homemade hot sauce.
Hot G Dog is one of the closest replicas to its long-gone predecessor, Hot Dougs, with its gourmet specialty hot dogs. While their Chicagodogs have a great snap and fresh ingredients, you must try their unique specials that change each week such as the Smoked Kielbasa, Crawfish, Bison, Fois Gras, Duck, and Buffalo. Also, be sure to bring cash, since it is cash only.
For a not-so-traditional hot dog, head to The Duck Inn for their tribute to a Chicago classic. With all natural-beef and duck fat grilled to snap heaven, you are sure to get the perfect bite. It has received numerous accolades including being named Top Dog by Food Network.
From the basic hot dog and fries to the double char cheddar dog, Fatso’s Last Stand in Ukranian Village has a perfectly-cooked dog for everyone. Open until midnight Sunday-Thursday, and until 4am on Friday and Saturday, you can treat yourself to a hot dog and their famous milkshakes at any time of day!

“It doesn’t get better than a Chicago style dog from Byron’s! Right off the Sheridan red line stop by Wrigley Field, this spot even has President Obama’s stamp of approval! Anywhere that caters picnics at the White House has to be amazing, right?”
This is a local favorite, but word has gotten out ever steadily, bringing some wait times along with it, but make no mistake – if you need ribs, you need these ribs. Accompany them with a one of their proprietary sauces (Mild, Zesty & Prohibition) and there’s little else in the world that matters. The space is authentically aged, speaking to its’ storied past and the bartenders come with the perfect amount of good-natured “ribbing.” A must, if you’re looking for true Chicago appeal.
The fried chicken sandwich is hotter than you think, the talent on stage is better than you imagined and you always stay longer than you planned. At lunch, the meat & three option… is always the right option, and the brunch is anchored by one of the more serious DIY bloody mary bars in the city. The scene here is alive and don’t be surprised to see some spontaneous dance breakouts.
From the outside looks like a misplaced Georgian homestead in our Gold Coast neighborhood. Inside, the BBQ “joint” is actually a rather refined dining room… with a parade of regional favorites awaiting. Competition-style ribs, prime brisket burnt ends & fried alligator get you in the door, but I’ve found their complimentary bread & butter pickles and BBQ chips just to start, require you to bring friends - many, hungry friends.
(112 N. Green St.)
When GSSM came about, it was as if the whole city had forgotten about BBQ. This, now a staple of the West Loop, has cemented itself as a gathering place for all occasions. The premium meat waiting to land on your aluminum tray is a great start, but take a seat at their communal tables, blend into the beautiful crowd at the center bar with a bourbon sweet tea and revel in the night at the hippest spot in town slinging a mean pulled pork.
(811 W. Chicago Ave)
Though maybe an unconventional choice for the purists among us, Jerk Jamaican BBQ stands firm on this list. An affinity for local craft beers, a supporting cast of sides you would want to order by themselves, and a blissfully gritty Jerk rub. Also, if they are reading this, the turkey leg they have only in November needs to be a permanent menu fixture!

Bennies and Baristas:
A mainstay on the Chicago brunch scene, Yolk has long been known for egg-ceptional (sorry, we had to) eggs Benedicts, omelettes, and pancakes. This summer, though, Yolk is elevating it’s coffee offerings, making it a go-to for a delightful cup o’ joe to go to start your day. As though you needed any more motivation to grab a Yolk breakfast, here are a few more reasons to head there now:
Or cappuccino, or cold brew...whichever coffee beverage strikes your fancy, Yolk is ready to serve you! Yolk locations have upgraded their coffee equipment and now have a full barista menu that includes everything from lattes to macchiatos and everything in between. Looking for a little flavor in your life? Make sure to add one of Yolk’s homemade syrups to your coffee concoction!
You asked, Yolk delivered! Straight from the Yolk Test Kitchen comes two brand new menu items that you need to try. The Avocado Toast with Smoked Salmon and the Breakfast Burrito were so popular at the Yolk Test Kitchen that they have been added to the menu! Oh, and they’re both super pretty, so you can rock that #nofilter hashtag when you post it to Instagram.
No one likes waiting first thing in the morning. Skip the wait at Yolk! Make sure to pick up a card from your concierge before you head to brunch! When you present a concierge business card to the Yolk hosts, you’ll get to skip the wait and get priority seating.
Known for the freshest seafood and delectable dishes, Catch 35 is offering special ocean-to-plate options all summer long. This culinary experience created by Chef Eddie Sweeney celebrates James Beard inspired cuisine and will offer
special pricing and unique seasonal seafood: Maine lobster specials including award-winning lobster mac and cheese, lobster rolls, lobster tails, and whole lobsters in August, and specially-priced swordfish dishes available for a limited time in September.
Chef Eddie Sweeney has a true passion for creating culinary masterpieces and sharing his passion with guests. “I love our food and really wanted another way to showcase how much effort goes into each dish we make. I hope it is something that everybody can appreciate.”
Homestead on the Roof is one of the most unique restaurants that happens to be on a rooftop. Featuring farm-to-table New American cuisine utilizing ingredients they grow on their own rooftop gardens, this is a must visit for anyone interested in seasonal ingredients and sustainable food.
I take every opportunity to flaunt my hotel’s Shanghai Terrace, the best fine dining Chinese in the city and an isle of serenity situated above the bustle of Michigan Avenue where you can dine, delight, and dim sum.
The J Parker
The J Parker at the Hotel Lincoln is casual and reasonably priced with good food and great views of the park and the city skyline.
This acclaimed restaurant sits high above where Chicago parts and the river flows, just like the drinks. The recipe for the perfect evening at Londonhouse starts with their crispy-skinned roast duck, hay roasted squash, a hearty glass of Pinot Noir, and one of Chicago’s most iconic views.
Chop House is known for its robust selection of Linz Heritage Angus beef in a variety of wet- and dry-aged cuts; the “Tomahawk” Ribeye and Grand NY Strip are two crowd-pleasers. Not feeling like a steak? Bite into the Chop House Signature Crab Cakes or the Lake Superior White Fish for a light, summertime meal. Accompany your entree with a colorful and flavorful Burrata Salad or the Baby Spinach Salad.
A new cocktail menu at Chicago Chop House offers even more beverage options to complement a sizzling dry- or wet-aged steak or delectable seafood dish! Sip on a refreshing Bellini made with house made peach nectar and sparkling wine or one of their signature martinis like the Key Lime Pie Martini that includes vanilla vodka, fresh lime, RumChata, and cream. There are also four incredible “mock”tails as well if you’re keeping the alcohol consumption to a minimum!
There’s always a new dining experience to be had in Chicago and these new kids on the block are winning at great cuisine and cocktails... you could probably say they’ve gottherightstuff. Yeah, we went there...

A 20-acre public park in Chicago’s Loop, Maggie Daley Park offers everything from a rock climbing wall, to a playground, to tennis courts. Kids and adults alike will love the wide variety of things to do at the park all year round.
Buckingham Fountain
Located in Grant Park, Buckingham Fountain is widely recognized as the opener for Married...WithChildren- but don’t let a 90s sitcom deter from the sheer beauty and history of this gem. Built to represent Lake Michigan, the fountain was dedicated in 1927 and remains a symbol of Chicago today.
An urban garden set in the heart of Millennium Park, Lurie Garden is a picturesque display of horticulture that must be seen. This living art in the middle of the booming downtown includes a display of dozens of plant life like tulips, black-eyes susans, elderberry, and more. Stroll through the garden along the footbridge and enjoy the floral scenery backdropped by the iconic Chicago skyline.

There’s nothing better than seeing Chicago on a warm summer day, and Gray Line tours makes it easy!By Dustin Ford
Chicago is home to many great museums and galleries, each of which will cycle their featured exhibits multiple times a year. This summer, plenty of exciting, new things are on hand to explore in Chicago’s museums.
Explore Edouard Manet’s inspiring paintings and how he proposed a radical new alignment of modern art with fashionable femininity. This exhibition focuses on a transformative moment in Manet’s career and offers an exclusive look at his collection including two of his most popular works, Jeanne(Spring)and Autumn(MeryLaurent)
Learn about rock n’ roll’s impact on worldwide politics at this exhibit from the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame. Check out artifacts like costumes, instruments, lyric sheets, and more from 50+ popular artists and explore the power of rock music to change attitudes about patriotism, peace, equality, and freedom.
This exhibit focuses on the future of wearable technology. Take a look at our clothing and see how we change them and they change us. The clothes truly make the man, especially when they expand his capabilities.
Just over 50 years ago the nation was rocked by the news of Dr Martin Luther King’s assassination. Today, we look back at his accomplishments and pivotal key moments in his life with this exhibit. By keeping his memory alive we are also keeping his message and his dream alive.
A collective of the works of Chicago artist and designer Virgil Abloh. Get inside the mind of the artist and learn why there are no borders between mediums, only human-perceived borders. He’s designed in Italy, worked with Kanye, and now his work has returned to Chicago for this momentous exhibit.
With hundreds of bug species declining, there has never been a more crucial time to learn about all the little guys that make the world go around. Step into, as opposed to ‘on’, the life of a bug and learn about how beautiful, resourceful, and crafty these creatures can be.
Either by Divvy or by rental (ask your Concierge for the best places to rent a bicycle!) seeing Chicago from a beautiful bike trail is mesmerizing. Plus, that FitBit will appreciate the action! Here are some must-see trails to see by bike:
Head east to see Lake Michigan in all its glory. Spanning more than 18 miles from north to south, you’ll catch incredible skyline views from multiple angles. On your ride, you’ll also pass museums, smaller beaches, harbors, golf courses, and much more.
This south side trail runs through the West Pullman, Morgan Park, and BEverly neighborhoods and through one of Chicago’s only forest preserves, spanning more than 6 miles. Named after Major Taylor - who some call the Michael Jordan of cycling - this trail takes you out of the hustle and bustle of the city and into greener places.
This new path is a fabulous stretch of nearly 3 miles that’s perfect for walking and biking that offers views of parks, neighborhood overlooks, and even an observation deck. Passing through the west neighborhoods of Wicker Park, Humboldt Park, Bucktown, and Logan Square, you’ll love seeing signage that illustrates the area’s history and backstory.
For a quick jaunt on a bike, head to Northerly Island, just east of the Lakefront Trail and just south of the gorgeous Museum Campus (skyline photo ops galore!) This trail is only one mile in length, but packs a visual punch that you don’t want to miss.
This restaurant could survive alone on its exceptional country cooking and southern hospitality, but they also have an impressive drink menu. Locally sourced beers and fourwood-smoked pig rears that will bring you to tears. Try the buttery cornbread with ribs that fall off the bone and a nice stiff bourbon.
Located next to town hall, this quaint pub is a favorite hide-away for all the legal eagles leaving their shift. Coupled with cheap drinks and good food, this pub’s simple setting is what has locals coming back on a weekly basis.
The only map you’ll need here is a map of the menu, it’s huge. Choose from over 25 beers on tap, 110 different bottles, various wines, top-shelf liquors, limited-release beers, and even some gluten-free options. This place will keep you busy for a while.
This bar strives to see the drinking experience in a whole new light. Known as being a ‘coffee shop for beer’ this bar wants you to enjoy your beer while working on your laptop, listening to music, or even reading a good book.
These guys take craft beer seriously with their “beer is life” attitude. Centennial features 56 taps and 36 rotating craft beers along with a fitting menu. For every menu item there is a hand-picked beer that pairs perfectly with it.
“Industrial chic” is how some describe it. Forbidden Root, located in Chicago’s West Town is not your usual tap. These brew house masters have taken beer and made it glorious. From wheat to sweet and sour to wild, they have some of the best thirst-quenching crafts.
Karaoke comes in a few different flavors in Chicago. I most often return to home turf in Chinatown for my karaoke fix; Sakura Karaoke Bar hosts communal karaoke and offers private party karaoke, and you can ready your singing voice with inexpensive drinks in between some Kanye West and Taylor Swift.
Brando’s Speakeasy is one of my favorite spots for karaoke downtown. The space has a laid-back vibe, and great happy hour specials. Whether you have a large group or not you’ll feel like the life of the party when you sing.
Alice’s Lounge in the Belmont/Cragin area is my go to for karaoke. It’s more of a local dive bar that’s usually open later than most bars in Chicago. Locals flock to this place to belt out some of their favorite tunes, complete with smoke machine and all. It offers drink specials every night as well. Alice’s has karaoke just about every night and it’s a great place to hang out with friends.
In the heart of Lakeview is Trader Todd’s, a karaoke go-to with two stages, comfort food, and cocktails. They have karaoke every day, so no matter your time frame, there is an opportunity to grab a mic and sing your heart out. Bonus: there are plenty of options for dining and cocktail options within walking distance right off the Belmont stop.
Chicago’s most notable celebrities frequent Underground, so you know it’s a spot to see and be seen (Kanye West has been known to make an appearance or two!) Dance your booty off with a rotating guest DJ list and live acts you don’t want to miss - and stick around for the late night trays of fresh baked cookies!
This glam nightclub and restaurant features a music lineup that includes some of the world’s hottest DJs like Kaskade, DJ Pauly D, and Afrojack, giving club goers all the more reason to party. Enjoy the upscale Asianinspired decor and large dance floor all night long!
Throwback to the 70s at Disco, an energetic, glamorous, globallyinfluenced club with a wall-to-wall LED dance floor, custom retro wall coverings, and mirrored ceilings. From classic jams to deep cuts and contemporary disco, DJs spin music that evokes Studio 54 with a modern twist.
