The Haunted House

The house stared menacingly at Emily Bat, Then, she snuck in, just like a cat.

She stepped through the creepy front door, As she found herself on the frozen ground floor. Glancing around the dull, musty room, Emily Bat found an old, dancing broom.

Walking down the dark hallway, She muttered “I should never have come here today.” The waltzing broom brushed cobwebs, by the sand, As Emily dodged a snoring troll’s hand.

Emily cried “I need to get out of here, This house is making me feel some fear!”

Looking at a mirror above the fire, Emily couldn’t see herself, was she a vampire?!

She snuck out just like a cat, As the house stared back at Emily Bat.

VANDAL’S HAIR IS HER UNDOING!

Price: 3 Magic Beans

In the month of May 2022, in the village of Goldenglen, various tower structures were vandalized and demolished. For quite some time the perpetrator has evaded capture from the police. Luckily, on the first of June at 12:01 AM the vandal was caught. Her name? Rapunzel, who had previously disappeared from the public eye three months ago.

Somehow, Miss Rapunzel had managed to sneak past the security of many towers; some even deemed the deed impossible. The police still have no leads on how she did it. Resident Gretel (20) of Sugar Lane said, “In the early vandalisms, my brother Hansel said she must have bribed the guards to step aside. I thought he was off his rocker!”. A tower fan, Rumpelstiltskin (62) angrily quoted, “That woman who has done that is vulgar! I ought to smack her with my tower picture book!”

A witness to the arrest of Rapunzel was PC Little Bear. He said his fellow policemen were checking on the Aurora Tower when they saw her climbing up the famous building. She had a bandana wrapped around her mouth so she wouldn’t inhale the spray paint and her long hair was wrapped around the tip of the tower so she would stay

The Fairy Guardian aloft. She saw the squad and she got herself down quickly. Fortunately, when Rapunzel was running away, she tripped on her hair (since she had not had the time to tie it up) and got herself wrapped in a cocoon like shape. Thankfully the police managed to arrest her.

Miss Rapunzel has been in a knot with crime

After a long period of vigorous, skilled questioning the police found out the truth; she was the missing Rapunzel. Miss Rapunzel accepts any claims of vandalism and says she did this of her own accord. “I did it all. I enjoyed every single second of destroying your prissy little towers.” She said this statement while being detained at Goldilock’s Prison. Currently, all the defaced towers are being thoroughly cleaned and the demolished ones are being rebuilt.

Amid all this, records have come up that when Rapunzel was younger, she was detained by a sorceress. Many believe this to be true and say the have video footage of Rapunzel being kidnapped. This footage has not been revealed yet.

There has been no voice on this theory from either Rapunzel or the sorceress. If so, would the witch be prosecuted, and Rapunzel’s.

Kunle Barker Visit

On the 3 November, Year 6 were extremely lucky to meet the amazing, Kunle Barker. He is a property owner and works for an architectural firm. As well as this, he has been on the television many times and has recently made an eco-home to help the environment, he even went to BMS himself! As you may have heard recently in the news, COP26 is happening in Glasgow, which is in England, this month. If you did not know this is a conference held each year to discuss plans and make agreements on helping our world, as we are in a climate crisis.

Kunle is going to COP26 this month, so decided to come visit BMS on his way and talk to some of the students about keeping a sustainable world, how we can do so and the things we can do. All of us in Year 6 have learned many things from him that we can do to help, but these are few things you can do to make our planet a better place! Firstly, when you are taking a shower at home, make sure that you don’t use boiling hot water and stay in there for the least time possible as we must save water to help the earth, and minimise our carbon footprint. Also, try your best to not travel by car when making short journeys to places as they release lots of emissions which damage our atmosphere. Instead try to travel by bike or walk to places! Even travelling by public transport makes a difference!

It was a pleasure to have the chance to meet such a brilliant person like Kunle and hopefully we can all make a difference on the Earth to make it a better and more sustainable place. Kunle is also launching his own campaign after COP26, which I’m confident that he will be successful with it! Thank you from everyone in Year 6!
