BRAND GUIDELINES

WELCOME TO THE LOCHINVER HOUSE SCHOOL BRAND GUIDELINES.

These guidelines have been produced to ensure that the maximum benefit is gained from our identity and to maintain a recognisable brand. The brand identity is created using a number of core elements: logo, typeface and colours.

These guidelines are intended to provide continuity and a framework in which to produce design for marketing, internal and external communications.

The mission of Lochinver House Preparatory School is to inspire pupils through high quality teaching and learning, in partnership with their parents. There is a particular emphasis on spiritual, moral, social and cultural development, and to create a safe, happy community that is conducive to learning in its broadest sense.

Our logo is for use on all materials.

The logo consists of our school shield and our school name (the logotype). It is essential that our logo is used correctly and consistently in all projects.

It should not be redrawn, modified or reproduced in shadow, outline or any other decorative way. The logo should not be reproduced from previously printed items.

USING OUR LOGO

To ensure our logo is visible in all implementations, the logo needs to be surrounded by clear space. This exclusion zone is the minimum area that must always be kept free of any type or graphic element.

MINIMUM SIZE

The minimum size is 15mm.

LOGO POSITIONING

When using our logo on any given format (landscape or portrait) please try to place the logo in the top centered position.

There is no pre determined size for using the logo but the proportion should be determined by the overall document size and space allowing for full visibility.

PLEASE DON’T

The logos must never be redrawn or altered. By using the original digital artwork files consistency of the brand identity will be maintained.

Don’t change the scale of the individual elements

The logo must only be produced in colours from the palette

Do not stretch or distort the logo

Do not rotate the logo

BRAND COLOURS

Our logo has been created with a core colour palette. This palette has been chosen carefully to reflect the ethos and history of the school. For each colour there is a Solid Pantone, a CMYK, a RGB and HEX colour reference.

The majority of documents produced in-house by the school will use the RGB colour reference. The colours should ideally be used as solid colours however in certain documents (forms, tables etc...) the colours may be used as tints.

COLOUR VARIATIONS

The logo has three variations for use on different coloured media.

The full colour logo should be used on a white background. There is also black only version that can be used on black and white documents and a white version to be used over areas of solid colour.

BRAND TYPEFACE

Our primary font family is Avenir and is used in a variety of weights to allow flexibility in our communication material. Our typeface is an important part of our identity and have been chosen so that everyone can keep our brand consistent across all internal and external media.
