Letters from the Titanic

April 12 1912

Dear Diary, I was very jealous this morning (on the Titanic) because I could not go in the swimming pool. Only first-class are allowed but still I could have good food from the boat. I could have fresh bread and butter, tea or coffee, jacket potato, porridge and plum pudding. Then I went back to my cabin and went to sleep. Then I thought I should go and see the concert on the deck. It was absolutely glorious!

April 12 1912

Dear diary, Today I woke up my grandmother to say, “We could be late.” So we quickly ran to the Titanic. We waved goodbye to everyone in our village. We were so excited to be on the Titanic. I went to the library for afternoon tea. It was delicious. I had no space for dinner. I will write to you tomorrow.

Good night Diary.

April 12 1912

Dear Diary, Today I was very upset to leave my family but I am excited to be on the Titanic. This afternoon for lunch I had lamb and boiled potatoes.

Year 3 A Postcard from Scandinavia

it is always light, even in the night. In winter it is dark all the time, even in the morning. I am really enjoying this trip. I think that it is very nice here. My favourite activity so far has been seeing geysers. Lots of love,

Dear Ms Savage, I hope you are well. I have been visiting Iceland and Sweden with Year 3 and Mr Laws and Miss Guilbot. I have been to a fjord and to Denmark. On Monday, I went to a hot spring. I saw a geyser and 200,000 reindeer. On Tuesday, I have some time to enjoy hygge and light candles. In summer

Dear Ms Savage, We are having a wonderful holiday here in Scandinavia. A few months ago we went to Finland and saw 200,000 reindeer! We got to feed them and it was so fun. Yesterday, we went swimming in a fjord. It was amazing but it was freezing. After that we got hot chocolate and next week

we are going to Iceland to see hot geysers (hot springs). Mr Laws says in winter we will see the Northern lights. We’ve seen pictures and it looks so beautiful. We can’t wait to see them!

Best wishes,

Dear Ms Savage, I’m having a wonderful time in Scandinavia! On Monday I fed the reindeer and it was very fun but we had to wrap up warmly, because it is very cold. Here is a fun fact about Finland: there are over 20,000 reindeer in Finland! I spent two more weeks in Finland and then I went to Iceland and saw geysers. They were fascinating! The next day, I went to see the hot springs. It was very nice

and warm. I had quite a nice time in Iceland and then I went to Sweden. In Sweden it was freezing, so we had to wear lots of fleeces and jumpers. Since we went in the winter, the sun never came up. To wake me up, I had a nice bath. It was very refreshing and extremely cold. I can’t wait to come back and see you! Lots of love,

Dear Ms Savage, I have been on a wonderful adventure to Scandinavia! It is very snowy these days and since it is very dark and icy we have been doing lots of hygge. It includes candles and hot cocoa. It is wonderful and cosy. You should try! Anyway, Mr Laws and the class and me have been cross-country skiing; we have even got to see geysers! On

Sunday, we went to Finland to feed some beautiful reindeer. On Monday, we went ice bathing! The whole class says it woke them up. Today is our last day and Mr laws has decided to do something special and the special thing is we are going in hot springs. Anyway we need to catch the flight home, bye!

Dear Ms Savage, I hope you are having a great time because I am. I am in Iceland right now. I am having so much fun. On Monday, I went in a hot spring. It was so hot, but it was lovely and relaxing. On Tuesday, I went cross-country skiing. It was so much fun but I kept falling down. On Wednesday, I saw the

Dear Ms Savage, I’m writing from Scandinavia and, oh my gosh, it’s beautiful. Last month, we sailed across a fjord. It was marvellous. Every evening we would light two candles to make the hotel room very hygge (cosy). Last week we saw the Northern lights, which are created by particles from the Sun and

Northern lights and it was very beautiful. On Thursday, I made my house hygge. It was very cosy. On Friday I went outside at 3 o’clock in the afternoon and it was still dark. Tomorrow I am going back to London. I miss you very much, see you in 12 hours,

Dear Ms Savage, I am having the best time in Sweden. In the winter the sun never comes up and in the summer the sun never sets; it’s amazing! In the winter, I went skiing in the mountains. One day I went to the hot springs. It was gorgeous and, in the summer I stayed up and watched the

atmosphere bumping together. Three days ago we went to see a geyser. The water splashed us all! Tomorrow we are going to swim in a hot spring. Can’t wait to see you!

midnight sun. It is fabulous! The first day of summer I went to the forest. It was full of lakes and trees and plants. In the winter I went to Lapland and in Lapland there are about 200,000 reindeer. It’s amazing! I wish you were here,
