An Alternative View of Human Nature By Steve Taylor, Ph.D, www.wakingtimes.com

or a long time, there has been a general assumption in our culture that “human nature” is essentially negative. Human beings — so it was assumed — are strongly disposed to traits like selfishness, domination, and warfare. We have strong natural impulses to compete with one another for resources, and to try to accumulate power and possessions. If we are kind to one another, it’s usually because we have ulterior motives of some form. If we are good, it’s only because we have managed to control and transcend our natural selfishness and brutality. This view of human nature has been justified by biological theories like the “selfish gene” (as popularized by the UK science writer Richard Dawkins) and the field of evolutionary psychology. Evolutionary psychology describes how present-day human traits developed in prehistoric times, during what is termed the “environment of evolutionary adaptedness” (EEA). The EEA is usually seen as a period of intense competition, when life was a kind of Roman gladiatorial battle in which only the traits that gave people a survival advantage were selected, and all others fell by the wayside. Life was such a struggle that selfishness and the desire for power and wealth were “selected” by evolution. Because people’s survival depended on access to resources (such as rivers, forests, and animal groups), there was bound to be competition and conflict between rival groups, which led to the development of traits like racism and warfare. This seems logical. But in fact the assumption it’s based on — that prehistoric life was a competitive struggle for survival — is completely false.

Prehistoric Abundance It is important to remember that in the prehistoric era, the world was very sparsely populated. As a result, it is likely that there was an abundance of resources for huntergatherer groups. According to some estimates, around 15,000 years ago, the population of Europe was only 29,000, and the population of the whole world was no more than half a million. With such small population densities, it seems unlikely that prehistoric huntergatherer groups had to compete against each other for access to resources, or had any need to develop ruthlessness and competitiveness or to go to war. (In fact, this is illustrated by the evidence for a long period of “prehistoric peace,” as I have discussed in a previous blog.) There are other ways in which prehistoric life was relatively easy, too.

Page 2

Hunter-gatherers had a good diet — one that was arguably better than many modern people’s, with no dairy products and a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, roots, and nuts, all eaten raw, as well as meat. This partly explains why skeletons of ancient huntergatherers are surprisingly large and robust, and show few signs of degenerative diseases and tooth decay. Prehistoric hunter-gatherers were also much less vulnerable to disease than later peoples. In fact, until the advances of modern medicine and hygiene of the 19th and 20th centuries, they may well have suffered less from disease than any other human beings in history.

Contemporary Evidence There is also significant evidence from contemporary hunter-gatherer groups who live in the same way as prehistoric human beings. (This doesn’t mean all contemporary hunter-gatherer groups, only the groups who practice foraging and live an “immediate return” way of life, meaning that they don’t store food, but consume resources soon after gathering them.) One of the striking things about such groups is their egalitarianism. As the anthropologist Knauft has remarked, hunter-gatherers are characterized by “extreme political and sexual egalitarianism” (1). Individuals in such groups don’t accumulate their own property and possessions; they have a moral obligation to share everything. They also have methods of preserving egalitarianism by ensuring that status differences don’t arise. This is done by sharing credit and putting down or ridiculing anybody who becomes too boastful. The !Kung of Africa swap arrows before going hunting, and when an animal is killed, the credit does not go to the person who fired the arrow, but to the person to whom the arrow belongs. If a person becomes too domineering or too arrogant, the other members of their group gang up against them or ostracize them. Typically in such groups, men have no authority over women. Women usually choose their own marriage partners, decide what work they want to do, and work whenever they choose to, and if a marriage breaks down, they have custody rights over their children. Other recent research on contemporary hunter-gatherer groups has shown that men and women tend to have equal status and influence, leading to the suggestion that sexual inequality only began to emerge with the development of agriculture (2).

Altruism and Egalitarianism So there is no reason to think that selfishness and cruelty are natural to human beings. There is no reason why traits such

he symbolic power of the mask is a motif that has been present throughout human history. It is found in many cultures, and it has fulfilled many different cultural functions such as in dramatic reenactment, and deeply spiritual ceremony and ritual. The common underlying psychocognitive expression that is at work is identity. The mask enables the putting on of another face – and thereby assuming another identity, or at least some aspect of another identity. This is clearly seen in the animism of the shamanic traditions, where the realm of animal spirit is entered into. This is something that the western mind can only consider in abstract terms, but the raw, visceral, physicality of such an act is now almost completely outside of our psychic realm of possible experience. Such liminal states of being are also outside of the current mental health paradigm, and would quickly find the experiencer medicated and possibly institutionalized. Science does not consider plants and animals to be truly sentient beings that have identities or a sense of agency. Being-ness has been largely reduced to codified memories and behaviours, and their subsequent hi-tech manipulation. Discussion of these matters has been relegated to the “new age” and the trans-humanist fringes. This marginalization of many essential aspects of our Human natures is in itself deeply problematic. The other “face” of the mask is typified by its ability to obscure and block one’s true or real nature. This is where we find ourselves placed presently. Our true, natural, organic natures are blocked and hidden from view, even from ourselves. We have never had the opportunity to get much more than a furtive glimpse of our true selves. Reports of these experiences have been

Page 3

relegated to spirituality, religion, and “nonordinary” states of consciousness. The masks that we wear are deeply unconscious and not of our own making, we face the world with a mad array of broken and dysfunctional selves, while the true self within lies latent, hidden and unrecognized. Promising areas of psychology, such as transpersonal psychology and Jungian descriptions of the psyche and its archetypes have been displaced by the “hard science” of physical brain studies. On a positive note there has been recent scientific interest in the so-called entheogenic plants, such as Cannabis and Ayahuasca. Sadly, the shadow of “big pharma” looms over these developments. We are now residing within an era

where “identity” defines all. Identity in the form of the behaviourally manipulated personality, the programmed self, the decontextualized individual. The individual is rapidly approaching the state of becoming an unanchored, collectively mediated psychopathy. Identity has become weaponized, and it is now almost impossible to discuss this topic without stepping into a socially misconstrued ideological minefield (mind field). The virtual group hallucination that is “social media” is designed to fracture and divide any sense of wholeness we have, both individually and collectively. It is a virtual mask that must be worn if one is to become an active entity within the social media milieu.

This most recent “masking” of the Human face has reduced us to cyphers within a dollar based accounting system. Our digital identity is almost wholly described, tracked, and traded, in terms of its economic value within an extractive global-corporate ledger. We have been “incorporated” into a global slave trade. Our egos might not like being confronted by this fact, but it is very apparent that we humans are the economic units of this digital trade. The Toltec seers of ancient central Mexico were aware that something was deeply amiss within human beings, and their prognostications remain relevant today. They perceived the presence of a non-human entity that has infected us on a non-physical level, and which directs us to perform the most horrifying and injurious acts upon ourselves, each other, and the planet. The Toltecs describe this entity as the “Parasite” and/or the “Predator”, in that it feeds off of our organic, life giving energies. This entity was also identified by the early Gnostics in the form of the Archon, and by many of the shamanic traditions – Wetiko being one example. The existence and nature of this entity is a big topic, one that is too large for the modest scope of this article. The parasitism of, and predation upon human beings, is according to the Toltecs, achieved through the mind. Their description portrays the human mind as a “download” or a “program” that was gifted to us with mal intent. The physical brain can be considered to be the hardware, and the mind as the software. In this way we experience ourselves as being simultaneously anchored in the physical and the non-physical. The living organic light based mind that we could have, which is galactic, stellar and planetary in nature, was usurped by a limited set of parasitic coding,

Publisher and Editor of The New Agora

fter SEVEN years OF publishing The New Agora we’ve been exposed to so much, not only in the world of information and events but specifically from the people directly, their particularities and peculiarities - to be polite - that we’re tempted to say we’ve seen and heard it all. Truth be told, so much comes and goes that what can be said about it without question is that, after a thorough and impeccable scrubbing, flushing and cleansing, all that remains at the end of the day is integrity. The integrity here is not only our own but that of the folks we continue to do our business with. It’s an integrity that, perhaps most importantly, in our opinion at least, is founded in the bravery, dare we say ‘balls’, to act on what one knows is right, both for oneself and one’s family, however defined. “Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness.” ― Martin Luther King, Jr. We’ve noticed over the years that for far too many smallminded selfishness and short-sightedness often takes precedence over intelligence, cooperative or personal. At the first whiff of challenge, one almost always perfumed by an imagined anxiety of losing out financially, many revert to the divisive mindset of being only out and in it for themselves. The stink here is that of fear coming off those that are so dreadfully challenged by simply living up to their word, promises, agreements, what have you. Promises made in the light of day suddenly disappear in a flurry of excuses, cowardly justifications and faulty, often entirely deluded, reasoning. It seems for many, from one end or the other, words are merely wind, their own most of all. “Integrity is doing what is right and truthful, and doing as you say you would do.” ― Roy T. Bennett I think that too many have forgotten, or perhaps never truly understood in the first place, that this system of ‘monetary debt’ that most people’s businesses operate in was set up just for that reason: to keep people on a ‘short leash’, one that can only be broken by the hard fought knowledge that real power and abundance comes not from dollars, ‘coupons’ and certainly not debt, but from the true freedom of having and working with actual integrity; not as an ideal or illusional notion, but as defined by ’right action’ in a daily, moment by moment, never-ending practice. Just our opinion, for what it’s worth, but one earned from experience. “Waste no more time arguing about what a good man should be. Be one.” ― Marcus Aurelius Elect to Govern Yourself. That statement has been on our cover, with one or two experimental exceptions, since day one. What does it mean? Well, mostly we want you to figure that out for yourselves. That’s kind of the point. It’s a rhetorical question really, as anyone who spends even a moment considering those four words can probably (hopefully) figure out: heaven help those who can’t. For those that need a little more on that score, simply put: it means to be self-directed in life, disciplined, no rulers/masters ‘allowed’ telling you what you can and cannot do: instead we’ve got character and integrity and intelligence in place to guide us there, helping us navigate through the often troublesome waters of our Times. Allowed, is a key word here as well, as it is we who allow those laws, the ‘shoulds and should nots’, to interfere and direct our lives, or we don’t…simple as that. Certainly there is the ‘strong arm’ of the law ready to put you in a cage for failing to follow its entirely biased and one sided monetarily driven rule book, one written to empower those who hold the reins and to disempower those tied to them. It’s not a system based in fairness or even true intelligence, certainly not one in place for our best interest. If we need laws enforced by violence to keep our communities functioning then there is something seriously wrong with our communities and ourselves. “Integrity has no need of rules.” ― Albert Camus Fighting’s not the answer, at least not with anything outside of ourselves; and though at times it might have the appearance and look and certainly feel like a fight, figuring out ways to help and putting that into action is simply put: where it’s at. One must, a man must, stand up for what they believe is right, regardless of all else. It is what makes a man, well these men anyways we can safely state. Whereas women are concerned, and they are very much and without a doubt essential, important and crucial players in this: what they give birth to, what they support, create and stand for has everything to do with the World we all live in. Just look around. Their power and influence is everywhere, as is their responsibility for seeing clearly, choosing wisely, and encouraging that which is best in Men and themselves. Doing so, being that, is what can turn any being into a hero.

“Our deeds determine us, as much as we determine our deeds.” ― George Eliot For those who have their ’reasons’ for not acting on what they know is right: well, shame on you really. Shame on all of you ‘order takers’, foolish followers, and non-player characters readily gobbling up whatever meme is spewed out from the factory of filth that continually degrades the human spirit, beauty itself, and that is without question at war with Nature, Hers and His. Accepting the status quo and blindly regurgitating and repeating the madness of the day for a paycheque and an emotional hand-job is creating a reality where actual Humanity and all of life will no longer have a place beyond being fodder for the perverse mutilation of what is true and natural. “If it is not right do not do it; if it is not true do not say it.” ― Marcus Aurelius And to those that say you ’gotta’, or ’I’m afraid I have to, or can’t….because’…. well…Be Brave, would be my suggestion. But don’t lie to yourself. That way you can always move forward towards being a better you. WE all know, somewhere inside, what is right and what is wrong. The difference being that some will act on that knowledge and others will ignore or make excuses, or both. Acting on what one knows is right is exactly where our power waits. Not doing so is where our power abandons us. Elect to govern yourself, or someone else will. So much has gone on…taking people away from themselves, their ability to truly support, feed, and educate themselves and one another, to live happy healthy and intelligently free lives together. Most are missing the forest for the trees, asking, asking, asking, demanding even, begging really…when it is obviously time to be ’taking’ our lives and freedom back. Permission will never be granted to and for you to grow up and be in charge of your own personal freedom, your own personal evolution. You already have it, always have: BUT it must be claimed, individually, to be in effect, to be real. Repeat as required. “If not us, then who? If not now, then when?” ― John Lewis ***

What Doctors Say Are CBD Benefits Observed in Actual People, Not Mice By Anna Hunt

here’s definitely no lack of anecdotal stories about the benefits of cannabidiol (CBD), a chemical compound in the cannabis plant. As a result, companies are flocking to offer hempderived CBD products to help with ailments such as pain, addiction, stress and anxiety. Unfortunately, there’s still only a few human clinical studies that confirm CBD benefits us in many way. Therefore, it’s exciting to hear medical professionals share their opinions about the effectiveness of CBD on actual people.

What Doctors Say About CBD Benefits

n It’s a Potential Treatment for Nicotine Addiction A small clinical trial occurred in England a few years ago. The study looked at the affect that CBD had on 24 smokers. Some of the smokers used an inhaler with CBD and others a placebo. The study lasted one week. Scientists C.J. Morgan et al from the University College London wrote: “Over the treatment week, placebo treated smokers showed no differences in number of cigarettes smoked. In contrast, those treated with CBD significantly reduced the number of cigarettes smoked by ~40% during treatment.” Of course, a longer-term study with a larger sample size is much needed. Yet, for a heavy smoker, this potential CBD effect may be a ray of hope. Tobacco addiction is so deadly that the Center for Disease Control claims it is accountable for 1 in 5 deaths in the U.S.”

n It’s an Effective Pain Reliever Pain relief is likely the most common benefit people attribute to CBDs and medical cannabis. This is where products like a CBD salve play an important role. Daniel Clauw, M.D. and Director of the Chronic Pain and Fatigue Research Center, believes that CBD may offer true relief to patients suffering from chronic pain. He bases his opinion on a clinical

Page 6

Image Source: bestcbdoilfor.com double-blind, randomized trial with 320 participants. This trial tested how 4.2% CBD gel affected pain caused by osteoarthritis of the knee. Based on his observations, Dr. Clauw states: “I don’t think we have that many good drugs for pain, and we know that CBD has fewer side effects than opioids or even nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, which can cause bleeding and cardiovascular problems. If I have an elderly patient with arthritis and a little bit of CBD can make their knees feel better, I’d prefer they take that than some other drugs.”

n It Could Treat Depression, Anxiety and Stress Poor mental health is a massive issue. For example, the World Health Organization claims that depression is the primary cause of ill health globally. It affects an estimated 322 million people worldwide, of which more than 16 million are Americans. These staggering statistics clearly show that we desperately need safe treatments for mental illness. This is where CBD steps in. The substance interacts directly with certain serotonin receptors in the human brain. These receptors have regulatory control over anxiety and depression, as well as certain addictive behaviors. As a result, producers are making CBD-infused products that strive to help

Bio-Electric Fields and Evidence for Morphogenetic Field (Mind) Governed Biology and Reality — Bioelectricity, Morphology, & Electroceuticals | Electricity of Life By Justin Deschamps

Phantom pain associated with amputated limbs is one such indication. Similarly, electrical and magnetic fields affect the formation of living tissues, as the following video demonstrates.

or ages, mystics, philosophers, and prophets have declared mind or consciousness as the prima materia of the universe—one of the original substances that gives rise to all else. Consciousness is so essential to experience and yet remains one of the greatest mysteries of modern times. Mind, as defined by the ancients, is consciousness itself, more than just logic, reason, or mind chatter, it is also an order-maker, bringing coherence to chaos, and life to the unliving. Although mainstream science has failed to discover what the ancients long knew, other pioneers have begun to recognize its power, albeit indirectly. The way in which life organizes a physical body is one such example, as researchers have previously discovered. Electric Universe theory is the study of phenomena, whether the very small or the very large, governed by the premise that the physical cosmos is fundamentally electric in nature. This field of study, although completely dismissed by the majority of mainstream scientists, provides breathtaking insights into the nature of material reality, where gravity comes from, how the solar system and atom are governed, and even the nature of consciousness. Another researcher, Rupert Sheldrake proffers the theory of morphic fields and resonance, that is, the non-material forces that govern mind. Morphogenetic fields, also

Briefly, electromagnetic interactions are dynamic in nature, meaning that they are constantly in flow and flux, an ever-moving river of energy at the smallest imaginable scale. Microcosmic interactions are holistically integrated with the macrocosm, as the emergence of life at any given point on the earth is influenced by the geomagnetic field, which in turn is influenced by the sun/ earth system, which in turn is influenced by the local star cluster, which in turn is influenced by the galaxy, and so on. In this sense, life is a cosmic emanation, a property of cosmic influences, precisely as the visionary Rudolf Steiner suggested. Even mainstream science has admitted that electricity seems to play a part in the formation of fundamental biological components that make up living things. And astronomers have also detected complex organic material throughout the known universe. DNA seems to act as a dual in-flowing and out-pouring antenna—it receives information from without and radiates information from within. Consciousness, mind by any other name, seems to act on the material world through the agency

something posited by Sheldrake, suggests that biological expression—the morphology or shape a living thing takes—seems to be similarly governed by electrical processes. According to Sheldrake, and several others, like Bruce Lipton, Dr. Joe Dispenza, Dewey B. Larson, and many more—suggest that mind and electrical interactions are intimately linked. While the nature of mind and consciousness is little understood, especially within fields of study ostensibly tasked with divining its true nature, there is a wealth of evidence to suggest life and consciousness is a field phenomenon.

of electricity, giving order to chaos, and producing life in the process. This is possibly why some creatures that have the capacity to regrow limbs can do so. There is an energetic or electrical field interaction that acts as a guide for the more subtle activities of materials in the body, like cells, proteins, tissues and so on. These living electric fields seem to provide a framework for the material aspects of the body to build structures. Fritz Albert Popp is a biophysics researcher who discovered that living cells emit and absorb what he calls bio-photons— highly coherent and stable energy units containing information. This information seems to be instrumental in the maintenance of living tissues. When under stress, cells release more bio-photonic light, suggesting that intercellular communication is increasing.

Dr. Fritz-Albert Popp | Biophotons | Institute Biophysics:

But what could these tiny units of life (cells) that make up our body be talking about when exchanging biophotons? https://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=R30YKfEuyo0

Given the study of embryology, and a pioneering body of research termed German New Medicine (GNM), as the body enters into a fear state, various biological programs are activated, stimulating the production of tissues that are meant to assist the organism in overcoming some threat. For example, during certain conflict active phases, the lungs can produce more alveoli (air sacks), so that more oxygen can be absorbed by the body for use in dealing with an exigent crisis. Upon resolution of the crisis, the emission of

or a long time we’ve been taught that evolution is a process that is happening to us. Thankfully we’re living in times where the human race is finally getting a grasp on the fact that we’re actually actively involved in how we evolve as a species. As humans, our bodies are constantly changing in response to the environment around us. Our muscles change according to whether we choose to use them or not. The enzymes in our digestive system change in response to the foods we choose to eat. Our endocrine system is in a constant feedback loop with our emotions which can change dramatically according to what’s happening in the world around us. As Dr. Bruce Lipton put it, “the cell is a carbon-based ‘computer chip’ that reads the environment”, and the field of epigenetics teaches us that our DNA changes in quality – again, according to our environment. When science talks about ‘environmental influence’ it seems to imply ‘all that which is outside ourselves’. It’s easy to overlook the fact that that our conscious choices about which environmental factors we engage with are part of what shapes the way our bodies restructure. We are part of the environment that influences our own development; our free will lets us choose and change the environment. We participate in our own evolution during our lifetime and what we do in our own lives can also affect future generations. In this way, personal evolution is collective evolution, and nowhere is personal evolution more apparent

than how we are capable of rewiring our own brain.

How Reprogramming the Mind Is Helpful To Us Humans work really well with routines. We repeat the same pattern over and over, and through neuroplasticity our brain wires itself so that it doesn’t have to think too much about that task anymore, it just runs that established electrical pathway. To riff off Noel Burch, it’s like when we learn to drive a car: we move from unconscious incompetence ‘I don’t know how bad at this I’m going to be’; to conscious competence ‘I now know how bad I am at this’; to conscious competence ‘OK, I can do this but I have to keep my mind on the job’; to unconscious competence ‘I can wind the window down, change the radio, turn a corner and change gears all at the same time, without even thinking about it’. We program ourselves all the time with repetition, so we don’t have to waste energy engaging isolated focus on every task. The question is whether these are routines we are choosing for ourselves or that have been

Page 8

Reprogram Your Mind To Take an Active Role in YourPersonal Evolution imposed on us? If they are imposed, are they helpful to us both personally and as a species?

When Are We Most Easily Able To Wire And Re-wire Our Mind? During early childhood our brains are wiring themselves for the first time. While this process slows after the intense surge of development in first few years, our brains are still establishing the wiring we will largely use for the rest of our life throughout childhood. When we hit our teenage years we experience the second surge of new wiring and there is an opportunity for patterns to be created during this time that can setup behaviours for years to come. After this period, neuroplasticity still occurs but it just isn’t as fluid as it was before. So you can teach an old dog new tricks, it’s just a slower process. The problem here is that our subconscious is overhearing everything our conscious mind is hearing, and is therefore to

a being programmed by whatever influence we’re being exposed to. The Jesuits knew this 400 years ago. They would boast: “Give me a child until it’s seven, it will belong to the church for the rest of its life.’” – Dr Bruce Lipton, paraphrasing Jesuit priests.

We Are Always Programming Ourselves I like to imagine the subconscious mind is like an autopilot system. It is overhearing everything we ever think or say, and its mission (in the background and whenever possible) is to guide us towards whatever we want… or at least whatever it thinks we want according to what it overhears. An extra level of challenge is introduced when we imagine that the conscious mind has the capacity for judgment its higher expression – discernment. The subconscious, however, doesn’t have that ability. When it is overhearing everything you think and every word you say it simply hears the topic, not the context. ‘I don’t want to be fat’ with the judgment of ‘I don’t want’ removed becomes the topic only: ‘be fat’. The subconscious

‘overhears’ the topic of what is active in your conscious mind and it is listening for repetition. This is how it figures out for how ready we need to be for that particular thought process.

Repetition Is The Key. Repetition Is The Key. If we lift weights we are using repetition to say to the muscles, ‘be ready for this, we may need to do this at any moment, so restructure yourself’. Scientists have found the fastest way to get fit is to do interval sprints, which is basically a physical way of saying to the body through repetition ‘you need to restructure yourself so we can sprint at top speed at any time, at the drop of a hat’. Rest, get your breath back and sprint again, over and over. This repetition tells the body that it’s a high priority to restructure and be ready for this at all times. My observation is that the same appears to be true for our brain. When our subconscious overhears our thoughts and words and there is repetition, there is an increased likelihood of neural rewiring. After all – neurons that fire together wire together.

The Path of Least Resistance When attempting to re-wire an old habit or behaviour pattern, it is useful to remember the old adage from high school science: electricity follows the path of least resistance. Imagine the old pattern as a well-established electrical pathway in your brain. As you put conscious focus into creating a new electrical pathway to replace the old pattern, you make that new electrical pathway fatter. As soon as you stop putting conscious focus into running the new behaviour pattern the electricity will revert to the old cable for as long as it is the fatter of the two cables, as that is the path of least resistance. As soon as the day comes when the new electrical pathway is thicker than the old one you have a new program in your autopilot system, that will now run on it’s own without you needing to focus conscious intention on it. You have reached a level of conscious competence. According to Dan Coyle a key to making the consciously chosen wiring stick is holding the intention that ‘I want to know this for the rest of my

life’. Coyle suggests this causes the brain to coat the new electrical pathway in the brain with myelin insulation, making it much more permanent.

Taking Care With The Programs We Allow Our Subconscious To Overhear As stated earlier, our autopilot system is taking direction from everything you’re experiencing – which includes the media we watch, the people we surround ourselves with and more. For this reason, one of the most powerful things we can do is exercise discernment around the kind of experiences we expose ourselves to, and their level of intensity and repetition. “It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.” – Frederick Douglass More importantly is the need for extra care in exercising this discernment on behalf of the children in our care and teaching this discernment to teenagers as, in both cases they are in a heightened state of neuroplasticity and are more susceptible to influence. To be clear, I am by no means advocating prudishness or avoidance of the truth, just a higher level of awareness of how we are either consciously or inadvertently being programmed all the time. In the video below Bruce Lipton speaks passionately on this very subject, citing this discernment on behalf of our children as a clear solution to war and conflict. Dr. Bruce H. Follow the God in Yourself

Three Simple Strategies for the Life Well-lived

“Whenever a knight of the Grail tried to follow a path made by someone else, he went altogether astray. Where there is a way or a path, it is someone else’s footsteps. Each of us must find our own way. Nobody can give you a mythology.” ~ Joseph Campbell

hat is the God in yourself? It’s the part of you that understands that everything is connected to everything else. It’s your disconnected self in search of connection. It’s your independence in search of interdependence. It’s the part of you that understands that religions are merely steppingstones for true spirituality. In short: The God in yourself is a spiritual seeker. The search is the thing, not what’s found. The journey is the thing, not the destination. Spiritual seekers, those who don’t drink the orthodox Kool-Aid, those who don’t lean on outdated religious crutches, those who question to the nth degree all parochial reasoning, have always been the black sheep of the universe. So be it. Spiritual seekers are not looking to follow a god. They don’t necessarily follow this or that law, tenant, or commandment. They simply follow the God in themselves, and that God in themselves is a questioner, an explorer and a creator.

within, is always grit. But that’s okay. It’s good to be grit. Being grit is where the action is. Especially when the universe rubs against that grit and creates the mystical friction that becomes the luster of the pearl. The spiritual seekers way of rubbing the universe back is questioning things. Especially meaning itself. It’s a give and take, a meditative dance with the cosmos. Breathe in, breathe out. Question out, answer in. Don’t fear discomfort or agitation. That’s par for the course. As Rumi challenged, “If you are irritated by every rub, how will your mirror be polished?” The key is not to rely on any answers. Not to put all your eggs into a single basket. Not to settle on any single bedrock of thought. As Aristotle said, “It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.” Just flow through it all. Keep questioning. Keep swimming. Keep searching.

Question things as you inhale, answer things as you exhale. Then exhale the answer and question/breathe again. Repeat until you’ve become a lustrous pearl, a diamond in the rough. And then keep repeating, never forgetting that a part of you will always be grit and coal.

“If you can fall in love again and again, if you can forgive as well as forget, if you can keep from growing sour, surly, bitter and cynical… you’ve got it (a life well-lived) half licked.” ~ Henry Miller The God in yourself longs to connect with the God in others. That’s the heart of namaste. One way the God in you can connect with the God in others is to explore the meaning that others have created. Standing on the shoulders of giants is an excellent way to do precisely that. A spiritual seeker stands on the shoulder of Jesus, Buddha and Nietzsche, not only to

explore the meaning that they have created but also in an attempt to connect their unique meanings together and to project that meaning further into the human leitmotif, further down the path of the evolution of consciousness. Indeed, the God within you stands upon the God within others in order to see further than they could otherwise. In order to connect deeper than they did. In order to tap into energies and knowledge that were not available to them. Buddha didn’t have Jesus to stand on. Jesus didn’t have Nietzsche to stand on. But Nietzsche didn’t have you to stand on. So on and so forth through the spiritualphilosophical evolution of the species. So explore the meanings of others. Go on philosophical adventures. Jump from giant to giant. Just remember to keep questioning, keep jumping. For, as Anais Nin wisely stated, “Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death.”

sychotronic millimeter wave weaponry is coming to a street near you, with the potential to unleash disease on a mass scale. Welcome to the new fifth generation of wi-fi called 5G, where the speed to send full-length, high definition movies to your ipad is ten times faster.

Weaponizing Frequencies The Coming Tidal Wave

THE CONSEQUENCES The need for speed has the consequence of going from moderate to severe health effects in record time. Note that 4G operates at 2.5 GHz or oscillates about 2.5 billion times per second. This frequency mimics water molecules in your body, and was chosen specifically for broadcasting services and equipment under government license. This means that all company products must meet this frequency or be deemed illegal. For what purpose is matching the human body’s frequency, you may ask, other than for weaponization? Good question. The higher frequencies of 5G–100 GHz and beyond–will use small scale wireless refrigerator-sized boxes, placed in front of every 2-10 homes on every street, in every city. As you watch the latest Hollywood flick, you will bask, unaware, in microwave emissions that oscillate at the same rate as your blood and oxygen molecules. These frequencies can cause burning sensations on your skin, impact fertility, as well as alter the electrochemical waves of your brain to affect consciousness.

AWAITING INSTALLATION OF 5G Secret testing of 5G emissions made its debut during the 2018 Olympics, and then again at the 2018 Super Bowl where over 67,000 people were part of a stress test without their consent. Soon, the 5G antennae networks will be beta tested in nineteen U.S. cities including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Jacksonville, and San Jose. High frequency 5G signals travel shorter distances and are easily blocked by buildings and trees. What is the point? Why create new technology that takes humanity in reverse? No time for answers. It’s full steam ahead to remove the obstacles that block the signals. First the trees.

DIRECTED FIRES AND POISONED TREES Many people in California report that the extensive “weird fires” are destroying trees and leaving homes untouched. Everything does not burn. At other times, the metal of cars and rails burned with the leaves on trees, leaving tree trunks and kindling. Could these unusual fires be the result of lasers from Directed Energy Weapons? Whole forests have been devastated down straight lines, obeying fence lines. Add to that, the sanctioned poisoning of hardwood trees by timber companies that has led to over one million dead trees to create a fire hazard. Are the trees being destroyed merely to unblock hazardous signals? Is this treason/ tree-son on multiple levels? These same millimeter waves have been used by the U.S. Army as a crowd control dispersal weapon called Active Denial Systems. Firefighters in Sacramento have reported memory problems and confusion following the installation of new towers in Los Angeles in 2004. Some cities, including Santa Rosa, have halted their 5G plans while health concerns are Page 10

addressed.

TREE TOWERS The power of trees keep us calm by acting on our autonomic nervous system, as well as our spirit. Numerous studies show a doseresponse relationship between urban tree cover density and selfreported stress recovery. Studies show reduced physiological markers of stress in subjects simply looking at images of nature. Unless we can stand up, speak up, collaborate and network, we risk being victims of the attack coming at us unseen, as millimeter waves are directed at our bodies and minds. If we feel powerless and isolated now, imagine what it will feel like once the new networks are installed and operational. Imagin what it will be like when the trees are replaced with towers that look like trees. We only feel isolated when we work alone and isolate ourselves. Like a forest, there is strength in numbers. Camilla Reese of Electromagnetichealth. org says we are facing actions at the federal and FCC levels that will create a dense network of high-intensity 4G and 5G microwave radiating cellular antennas in front of homes across America. Moreover, federal legislation, S 3157, would severely reduce local revenues, shorten review times for applications and curtail local control over siting of cell towers. Camilla says the movement to stop this rollout is necessary for health but is also about getting corporate money out of politics and building an independent media not dependent on toxic polluters and the corruption driving it.

HEALTH EFFECTS OF 5G Because 5G frequencies affect oxygen molecules, they affect all biological systems, including DNA, circadian rhythm, heart

function, hormonal regulation, and immune system. Hundreds of scientists have expressed concern that humans may experience serious health risks including increases in blindness, cataracts, retinal degeneration, hearing loss, male infertility, cancers, peripheral nervous system damage, impacts on immune cells, red blood cells leading to low cellular oxygen, and impaired transport of nutrients into cells. Impacts on birds and plants may be more severe than the impacts on humans. Beyond direct effects to health, harmful frequencies threaten society as a whole by ignoring the human right to informedconsent for high levels of radiation. All life on the planet has a right to health and a healthy life. By accepting the 5G rollout without a discussion, as happened with the airport scanners, we give up sovereignty over our bodies and accelerate our demise. These frequencies ionize metals being sprayed into the atmosphere under military “geo-engineering” programs to charge the atmosphere, along with our bodies. These programs further block the healing frequencies of the Sun required by all life. S 3157 has bi-partisan support and currently faces little opposition. It could slip through the Senate via unanimous consent, appear in the House briefly and get attached to a spending bill — without any debate or roll-call votes specific to S 3157. This would wipe out nearly all the protective ordinances already passed by forward-looking cities. On September 26, 2018, the FCC was scheduled to vote through its Wireless Infrastructure Order (dockets 17-79 and 17-84). This order attempts to preempt local control of the public rights-of-way. Wireless companies could then more easily install — in front homes — cell towers that would irradiate those nearby with intense, pulsed, data-modulated, Radio-frequency Electromagnetic Microwave Radiation (RFEMR) — 24/7.

SOME SOLUTIONS n Voice the power of NO to all new generation wi-fi systems without proven safety.

n Hardwire all electrical connections or unplug wi-fi before sleeping. n Use aluminum screens on windows to block EMF signals. n Use RF-shielding paint to block EMF signals. n Consume Carbon60, a powerful antioxidant, metal absorber, and carrier of metals out of the body. n Unsubscribe to the geneticallymodified corporate food system. n Eat an organic diet to strengthen and maintain your immune system. n Come together in small communities to maintain simple wi-fi for the benefit and balance of the group. n Grow your own food. Plant a garden. Grow herbs and fruit trees. n Stop using aluminum cookware, antiperspirants, baking powder, vaccines. n Remove the outdoor refrigerators from your sightline. In usual form, attacks to human health and the health of the planet are coming from new technologies that are unproven, untested, and amoral. Though government attempts to divide humanity, we are all Earth Beings united at the level of our cells and our microbes. Do we slow down and preserve our smallest inhabitants? Or do we accept the coming tidal wave? Speed for the sake of speed is the ideology of a cancer cell. verything we see on a global level — the ongoing wars, atrocities, oppression, loss of freedom, surveillance, corporate greed, GMOs, fluoride in the water, chemtrails, vaccinations, pharmaceuticals, HAARP, geo-engineering, religious and political dogma/systems, governments, sexual pathologies, racial wars, mainstream media/entertainment, etc. — are the creations of (or heavily influenced by) un-seen forces that have been ruling over humanity for thousands of years, using their puppet humans to carry out their agenda. Their primary goal and agenda is and always has been to keep us locked in a frequency prison, feeding off of all the “emotional loosh” that is created through the suffering, drama, chaos, and fighting between humans — be it on global level via wars or through interpersonal fighting in everyday life. Divide and conquer. It’s about keeping us in a perpetual state of fear and preoccupation on physical survival and limited five-sensory perception and indulgence, disconnected from the deeper wisdom of our bodies and our divinity within — our own inner authority and emancipated selfs. Have you ever wondered why there are always wars and atrocities and nothing really changes? It just re-arranges with different faces and disguises. Like in a prison cell, the tapestry changes but the (invisible) prison is still there. People say “it’s just human nature and ego”. Have you ever questioned the term “human nature” and literally everything we have been told about humanity? We are in fact “GMOs”, genetically modified by hyperdimensional alien forces who are the real architects of the matrix. They see earth and humans as their property and farm, raising us like cattle to be fed upon.

Page 11

Ignorance Is Not Bliss Society and culture as we know it are an alien-infused creation and not “human”. They have also infused us with dogmatic religious beliefs and a corrupted pop-spirituality we see in the “New Age”. An alien virus. It’s pathology that has become normalized. That’s why only focusing on the 3D manifestations of the matrix will never bring about true positive change, nor will change happen through any of the matrix institutions. Attempting to fo that feeds the NAA (Negative Alien Agenda)....literally. It doesn’t matter who you blame or focus on a 3D level: Illuminati, Zionists, Jesuits, Bankers, Monsanto or any political figure; they all are puppets themselves. Understanding the Hyperdimensional Matrix Control System is key in this day in age for anyone who wants to awaken and have a better world. Sincere self-work and deprogramming oneself from consensus reality is also part of it, for that is the path to connect with our spiritual nature, our sovereign embodied self, connected to the Divine within

in order to transcend the mutant Matrix and connecting to our original blue print. It is not an easy path and work for it entails facing one’s fears and questioning our deep-rooted socially/cultural conditioned beliefs and programs. Disillusionment is an inevitable part of the process, but the only way out is through. Fighting governments and the psychopathic elite on a 3D level alone will never bring an end to wars and suffering for the “elite” themselves are just pawns and puppets of hyperdimesnional negative forces that fully occupy them. Voting and therefore giving consent to be ruled and believing in the religion of government is also an alien mind control construct (as is any of the major world religions), designed to keep people imprisoned out of their own free will and disconnected from their own inner spiritual authority as they give their power away and become authoritarian followers, no matter how well meaning the intention to support another “leader” and political puppet, no matter what party. Just focusing on ecological/

environmental issues (GMOs, green energy, etc..) will also never bring about a “better world” for it is just fighting symptoms. Again, literally EVERYTHING we see as a “problem” to be “solved” on a 3D level is a manifestations of the NAA that has been ruling over humanity for eons, hiding behind a “veil” outside our five sensory perception and distracting us from what is really going on in order to keep us in a frequency prison via genetic manipulation, locked in 3D physical survival mode and feeding off of us. Ignorance is not bliss, nor is it protection. Literally everyone — and especially anyone who is not aware of the Hyperdimensional Matrix and doesn’t understand how the occult manipulation/ control operates, not only in the world at large but through their own minds - is influenced by it and doesn’t really have “free will” (only the illusion of it) and can be an unconscious “matrix agent”, being played like pawns on a grand chess board. That’s really what it comes down to in a nutshell regardless of what people and activists focus on externally on a 3D level. Don’t get distracted by the shadows on the wall. The key for it all in order to transcend the matrix is not only knowledge of what the matrix actually is beyond its 3D manifestation but most importantly sincere self-work, shadow work, embodiment and emotional intelligence in order to anchor the higher frequency of the Divine and true love, connected to our wholeness within and the wholeness of nature. Love is Light is Knowledge and the gateway to receive Gnosis, higher Knowledge that cannot be perceived via the five senses or our petty little minds. This is the process of Ascension and the Time of Transition we’re in now. Many are called; few chose to answer the call. And never, ever give into fear… It’s what they count on and feed off of.

ll throughout our early lives, we were taught how to read, how to write, how to manipulate, calculate, mold, alter, build, destroy, theorize, study and analyse life. We were taught how to say “please” and “thank you”, as well as what was acceptable and unacceptable to others and society at large … but most of us failed to be educated in one essential dimension of life: self-love. Something that continues to shock me about my own upbringing was the distinct lack of emphasis on respect for oneself and acceptance of one’s flaws and virtues alike. As a child I can’t ever recall being taught the value of loving oneself; of setting healthy boundaries, knowing how to say “no” and “yes” when you mean it, and learning how to take care of yourself, even at the expense of others. If you were raised in a culture and society similar to my own, you were probably taught to “put others before yourself” and not give much consideration to your own needs.

Self Love

21 Ways You Can Become a Doctor of the Soul taught the value of self-love in childhood, and adopting the socially acceptable guise of a martyr later in life? Depression, bitterness, anxiety, resentment and grudge-holding … these were the result.

I felt trapped, I felt utterly deprived, I felt used, abused and constantly taken advantage of. The truth of life, I later learned, was that without first learning how to love

Self-denial and self-sacrifice

were two of the main values taught in our childhoods, and continue to be emphasized as the markers of a “kind, caring and worthy human being” to this very day. Unfortunately, from what I later learned in life, these two values taught me nothing more than the profound emotional and psychological pain of being a self-imposed martyr with no real understanding of ‘love’.

Learning How to Love So what was the result of not being

yourself you will never truly know how to love others. This applies to each and every being on the planet regardless of

race, gender, religion or culture. To use an analogy, how can an empty cup be used to quench the thirst of another? It is impossible. Likewise, it is impossible for us to give love if we haven’t first filled ourselves. Simple.

Becoming a Doctor of the Soul

Coming to terms with the fact that everything you were taught about what defines a “good and respectable person” is actually false can be hard to accept at first. But as thinker Jiddu Krishnamurti noted: “It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.” The good news, I discovered, is that with time and persistence, we can learn how to heal ourselves. In essence, we can teach ourselves to become doctors of the soul, healing our wounds, curing our own sicknesses, and maintaining optimum health through the development of self-love. If you have just started the path of healing and recovery, or need some inspiration, you might benefit out of the following things I have learned and put into practice on my own journey, (in no particular order!)

1. Change Your Diet Swap processed, fatty and sugary foods, with whole, unprocessed and low-fat foods. So much research has shown the link between food and the mind. Eating the wrong food is a sign of self-neglect and contributes to physical, emotional and even mental illnesses. Try slowly cutting out junk food, and experience the immense benefits!

2. Identify Your Subpersonalities Within all of us there are subtle and incessant voices that sabotage and paralyze us, and these are the voices of our subpersonalities. I wrote about these a while ago. Awareness is the key to overcoming the negative self-talk of The Worrier, The Critic, The Victim and The Perfectionist.

3. Start Reading No, I don’t mean the news, or the latest ‘goss’ on Facebook, I mean reading books (funny obsolete things!) Focus on mostly non-fiction books in the self-help category. Reading this type of material helps expand your mind and equips you with inspiring and life-applicable knowledge. My current favorites are “Nonviolent Communication” by Marshall Rosenberg and “Emotional Intelligence” by Daniel Goleman.

4. Explore Your ‘Cognitive Distortions’ Cognitive distortions are responsible for a lot the anxiety and depression we experience in life. Some of these include black and white thinking, catastrophizing, and future telling. Read more about them Page 12

here (https://lonerwolf.com/anxiety-anddepression/).

5. Practice Self-Hypnosis I personally found self-hypnosis an extremely powerful tool in re-wiring my brain from destructive thought patterns. Read more about it here (https://lonerwolf. com/self-hypnosis/).

6. Get 7-8 Hours of Sleep Every Night Also … ensure you set a stable bedtime! Once upon a time my bedtime was 1 am, and I rose at 6 am (that’s a measly average of 5 hours sleep). Getting less than the recommended 7-8 hours of sleep every night, as I found, lowers your immunity, contributes to chronic fatigue, moodiness, depression, anxiety issues, and chronic pain (or fibromyalgia). Aim to go to bed around 10 pm and rise at 6 am. You will seriously feel the difference!

7. Learn Quiet Assertiveness It is not necessary to be an obnoxious jerk about what you do and don’t want out of others and life in general. But it is essential to know how to stand up for yourself and set healthy boundaries. Read more about how to be quietly assertive here (https://lonerwolf.com/how-to-bequietly-assertive/)

8. Explore Your Mental Traps Low self-esteem is often a result of false and unrealistic thought patterns that are deeply ingrained within us. These are composed of mental traps such as assumptions, beliefs, comparisons, desires, expectations and ideals about ourselves and others. Learn more about them here (https://lonerwolf.com/6mental-traps/).

9. Treat Yourself Like You Would Your Best Friend Often, we are our own mortal enemies. To heal ourselves, it is important for us to consciously change

wretched and significantly lower the quality of our daily lives. Poisonous people are often judgmental, manipulative, clingy, backstabbing, ruthless, aggressive, controlling, liars, self-pitying and selfdestructive. Learning to cut away those who hinder your self-growth is a difficult, but absolutely necessary step on your journey of healing.

13. Seek Supportive Companions

our relationships with ourselves, and treat ourselves with compassion and consideration just as we would with a best friend. I wrote more on this topic here

10. Welcome Solitude Into Your Life When we don’t make space in our lives to be alone, it is easy for us to burn out, become disorientated and even ill. Each day, make time for yourself to rewind, relax and reflect, alone. Solitude gives you insight, perspective and reinstates harmony in your life.

11. Meditate for Self-Awareness Becoming self-aware is a key skill in life, a gift that allows you to identify your self-destructive patterns of thought and behavior, and find more peace and balance in life. Meditation, although frustrating and seemingly meaningless at first, is a silently potent practice with endless benefits. Aim for 10-15 minutes each morning first thing (or whenever you have time!)

12. Identify Poisonous People In Your Life Poisonous people make us feel

Page 13

Supportive people encourage us, uplift us, and inspire us. These people have often obtained a certain level of self-love, and because of their ability to respect themselves, they are easily able to respect and love others. Often it is not necessary to seek these people out as we naturally gravitate towards them on our paths! However, it always helps to instigate friendships and connections with the supportive people of life as they can really help us out in dreary periods of our journeys.

day on social networks? Whether it’s Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest, or any of the numerous other social networks out there, we waste so much of our time on social media … and what for? Often times we are motivated by the ability to obtain “likes”, “shares”, “followers” and “friends”, constructing a feeble cyber alter-ego that craves for acceptance and the esteem of others. For this reason, social media is a sickly environment to constantly expose ourselves to each day, and many studies have shown its detrimental effects on our health, including an increase of depression and low self-esteem. Connect with your friends and family – sure! – but stop using social networks to unconsciously build a false and unstable sense of self-worth.

Our unconscious minds are oceans of wisdom, understanding and insight. Intuition, that mysterious inner guide we all have, is a manifestation of this vast untapped world within us. Learning to trust your intuition will help you to live a life true

15. Support the Well-Being of Nature All of life on earth and the universe is so interconnected, that the harm we do to others always comes back to harm us in one form or another. By supporting the well-being of nature – whether by becoming a vegan or vegetarian, by choosing sustainable food and products, or even by replacing our cosmetics with organic “non-animal tested” alternatives – we are promoting the well-being of the earth and thus the well-being of us as individuals. By healing ourselves we heal others, and by healing others we heal ourselves.

16. Take a Walk or Jog Each Day This is not always possible, but regular exercise really does benefit your body, mind and soul, proving that you are actively taking care of yourself.

17. Stop Spending So Much Time on Social Networks Did you know that on average the American adult spends 3.2 hours per

20. Focus on Reducing Sources of Stress In Your Life Prolonged stress contributes to so many illnesses in our lives, so it is important to learn how to reduce, and deal with it when it comes. Often stress can be reduced by dropping our desires and expectations for ourselves, other people and situations in life. Stress can also be reduced by practicing many of the things I have mentioned in this article, e.g. having a good diet, 7-8 hours sleep per night, self-hypnosis, targeting negative thought-patterns, and so forth.

21. Accept Your Flaws. Celebrate Your Strengths

14. Learn to Trust Your Intuition, or Instinct

to yourself and your deepest needs. Read more about it here.

car, perfect family, etc.) It is important, therefore, to ask yourself “What is my passion?” Remember, passions are not static and they can evolve with us. Whether painting, writing, dancing, designing, building, or whatever excites you – pursue it – even if on the sidelines!

18. Reassess Your Wardrobe Colors are said to greatly impact our psychology (hence “color psychology”). I have recently replaced a lot of my black, grey and dull colored clothing for bright shades of various colors. The experience has been surprising: the colors of the clothes I wear actually impact my mood noticeably. Wearing light blue for instance, stimulates feelings of openness, or yellow: optimism. Dull colors like khaki, granite and charcoal on the other hand, are all associated with feelings of apathy, aloofness, pessimism, and despondency.

19. Make Time to Explore Your Passion What drives you? Fires you up? Fills you with joy and a sense of accomplishment? When we learn to forget our needs and smother them with others, we often lose sight of what truly makes us happy in life. Many of us abandon our dreams at an early age, and so live meaningless lives of drudgery and socially approved pursuits (such as having a “good” career, big house, nice

It is important to come to terms with the fact that you are imperfect – there is NO denying it. As part of my journey, I have dedicated a lot of time to exploring my Shadow Self, and accepting the embarrassing and even shameful aspects of my nature. By accepting your flaws, the doorway to selfimprovement is opened. Accept them, don’t run away from them. Likewise, learn how to celebrate your strengths! Keep a journal of affirmations and honestly list each day every little thing you appreciate about yourself. Balance is essential. ***

There are so many more recommendations I could give, but for now, I feel these are the main essential ones. Becoming a doctor of the soul and developing self-love is often a lifelong journey, one that we can educate and inspire others with as well. Self-love, an essential component of inner work, is often completely ignored in our early life education. But my hope is that this article, full of my own lessons, can help re-educate you, teaching you how to heal and strengthen yourself.

f you get a sunburn, have dry skin, or suffer from other skin related issues, aloe vera is typically one of the first things you reach for. Its beneficial effects for skin are well known. However, what isn’t as commonly know outside of alternative health circles is that aloe vera also has huge benefits when consumed as a juice or supplement. Then again, when you take a closer look at what aloe vera contains, this may be less surprising. Aloe vera is an amazing mixture of more than 200 constituents, including polysaccharides, enzymes, glycoproteins, amino acids, vitamins and minerals - including vitamins A, C, E, and B12, as well as minerals like potassium, zinc, and magnesium.

Aloe Vera for Natural Colon Health One of the main active ingredients in aloe is anthraquinone (aloe-emodin), which works as an effective natural laxative and colon cleanser. Cape aloe, in fact, is one of the strongest of the colon stimulating herbs, which is why Jon Barron uses it in his Colon Corrective formula. Even better, laboratory experiments have shown cape aloe stimulates the growth not only of lymphocytes, which are an important part of the immunological defense mechanisms, but also of fibroblastic cells in skin and connective tissues and can thus help soothe and heal tissue in the intestinal tract. And an in vitro study published in 2014 shows that aloe-emodin induces apoptosis in human colon carcinoma cells. That said, most aloe products, other than cape aloe, have had the anthraquinone removed so that you can consume higher doses without the purgative effect and thus receive more of aloe’s other benefits.

Aloe Vera for Natural Healing Although aloe is almost legendary for its healing and regenerative powers, the true potential of aloe vera was waiting to be tapped.

ALOE VERA Benefits: Healing & Regenerative Power

It is only within the last decade, however, that scientists have learned how to concentrate the active ingredients in aloe to levels far, far, far beyond what was possible before - while at the same time preserving the integrity of the key ingredients. And then, within just the last few years, that process has been significantly enhanced to almost unimaginable levels.

Aloe Vera for Overall Cell Health The active polysaccharide fractions in aloe are called galacto-mannans or betaglucomannans. These polysaccharides have been shown in laboratory studies to act as a bridge between the proteins found on pathogenic invaders (such as viruses) and macrophage cells in the human body, facilitating the destruction of the invaders by the macrophage. Activating the receptor sites of the macrophages is also a key to the overall boosting of cell-mediated immunity, which, significantly, is deficient in HIV infection and other immune disorders. In addition, aloe polysaccharides also protect the bone marrow from damage by toxic chemicals and drugs. These various effects, while seemingly widespread and unrelated, are in fact due to one simple process that occurs at the cell membrane. Acemannan (the name often used for aloe beta-glucomannans, acetylated polymannans and mucopolysaccharides) is a long chain sugar that interjects itself into all cell membranes. This results in an increase in the fluidity and permeability of the membranes allowing toxins to flow out of and nutrients to enter the cell more easily. This results in improved cellular metabolism throughout the body and an overall boost in energy production.

urmeric is often touted for its anti-inflammatory properties, but it has another superpower that gets a lot less attention: it’s a potent neuroprotector. This spice’s main active ingredient is curcumin, which gives it its cheerful yellow-orange hue. Researchers from the University of California – Los Angeles (UCLA) have now shown that curcumin supplementation can boost memory performance after looking at 40 people between the ages of 50 and 90 with normal brains and mild memory complaints. The participants were randomly assigned to a placebo group or a control that took 90 milligrams a day of curcumin twice a day over the course of year and a half. Researchers measured everyone’s curcumin levels in their blood at the trial’s inception and conclusion. They also gave the subjects cognitive tests before the study, upon its completion, and every six months throughout its duration. After analyzing the data, they found that those who took daily curcumin had a 30 percent improvement in memory tests. Moreover, PET scans of their brains showed they had improved signaling in the areas responsible for emotional functions and memory, the hypothalamus and the amygdala. They also noted mild improvements in their mood and significant attention span improvements. These benefits weren’t seen among those in the

Page 15

Stunning 30 Percent Improvement in Memory

placebo group. Their research was published in the American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry. The researchers believe that these effects could stem from curcumin’s ability to reduce inflammation in the brain, which is linked to Alzheimer’s and depression. In India, where turmeric is considered a dietary staple, senior citizens have better cognitive performance in general and a lower prevalence of Alzheimer’s. Some people reported mild side effects like nausea and abdominal pain, but this was true of both groups, with just four in the curcumin group and two taking placebos experiencing such problems.

Therefore, it’s still a relatively safe way to get useful cognitive benefits. Next, studies are planned to look into whether curcumin could help people who have mild depressive disorders. The researchers would also like to explore whether factors like a person’s age, whether or not they have genes related to Alzheimer’s, and the severity of their cognitive problems impacts curcumin’s effects on memory and mood.

The best way to get more curcumin If possible, try to get it from the fresh root or ground spice. Its flavor is very easy

to disguise in stews, sauces, marinades, salad dressings, and other dishes, or you can make it the star of the dish and create a healthy Indian-inspired meal with complementary flavors. Turmeric is found in curry, but for cooking, use the fresh herb rather than a curry blend so you can ensure you’re getting enough of it as the amount of curcumin in curry powder is quite variable. Some people enjoy drinking it in a glass of warm milk. Called “golden milk,” it’s a soothing way to get your daily dose of turmeric. Just don’t forget to sprinkle a bit of black pepper on top so you can be sure your body is able to make good use of the turmeric you drink. If you haven’t already started trying to work more curcumin into your diet, now is the time. More and more studies are showing just how good it is for your health, and it’s very affordable and easy to incorporate into your food. ccording to an article on the website of ‘Radio Free Europe’, a nondescript modern 4-storey building on Savushkina Street, St. Petersburg, houses the innocuously titled ‘Internet Research Centre’. Inside the building operate government controlled and tasked teams of professional ‘trolls’. Spread across approximately 40 rooms, the trolls prowl the Internet in 12 hour shifts, generating pro-Kremlin comments and ‘gaming’ Internet forums and online conversations. St. Petersburg blogger Marat Burkhard recently came forward to describe the apparent covert activities in detail. Burkhard describes his co-workers as “politically illiterate young people” who must be briefed on current topics at the beginning of each shift and continually supervised. At this point it would be pertinent to note the source of the article – Radio Free Europe – notoriously a CIA funded propaganda outlet for decades (now financed, more obtrusively, through the State Department and ‘private donors’). While only the congenitally naive would doubt the veracity of the article’s basic claims, what is (unsurprisingly) lacking is context. Whether financed and operated by Russia’s intelligence agency FSB, or some other shadowy enclave, it is estimated that the entire Russian security establishment currently operates with just one twentieth (1/20) of the US equivalent (not even including the UK and other close Western allies). What that means, in a nutshell, is that for every Internet Research Centre in Russia, the CIA/NSA/GCHQ/private contractor nexus would be operating the equivalent of (at least) 20 such centres. Flooding the social media networks, news and other sites of their domestic populations with thousands upon thousands of comments, posts, disruption, disinformation and propaganda bullets every day. Salvos in an escalating, but largely unseen, ‘Information War’. Furthermore, recent reports cite the development of software that actually scours the web, automatically switching between user names/identities and generating propaganda, provocations and automated comments as it goes. Coupled with Google’s recent announcement of A.I. software that can discern (Google’s version of) ‘the truth’, it doesn’t take much imagination to envisage any online expression of ‘untruth’, ‘heresy’ or ‘dissent’ being automatically swamped beneath a torrent of managed obscurity, cyber-

Page 16

troll bile, distraction and chicanery. Seismically underreported, similar allegations about the ‘troll farms’ or ‘web brigades’ of the West (such as GCHQ’s ‘77th Brigade’) have barely surfaced in the blinding mass of ‘Snowden Revelations’. Chilling images (reportedly leaked from internal GCHQ presentations) document operations in ‘virtual communities’, ‘social identity theory’, ‘herding’, ‘mimicry’ and the ‘psychology of deception’. Much of the language used seems best suited to neutralizing dissent and activism in the ‘target’ (domestic) populations (and not the lame-duck excuse of ‘fighting terrorism’). As an astounding amount of human activity and intercourse migrates online, public spaces empty and forums/social media fill with a new species – homo digitalis – a being safely cubicled and shepherded into approved opinions, paradigms and navel gazing. Accordingly, corporations now view social media and online social networks as their plaything and happy-hunting-ground – each ‘like’, ‘trend’, ‘tweet’ and online action the precious raw material to map, direct and monetize consumer behaviour. Edward Bernays (pioneer marketeer, nephew of Sigmund Freud and author of the seminal text Propaganda) could hardly have dreamed of the marketing, perception management and social engineering possibilities now available at the press of a few attractive and endorphin-stimulating keystrokes. Today’s brave new keyboardwarrior looks an awful lot like yesterday’s plantation indentured servant or herd of cattle (in sleek, Apple designed ergonomic garb). A plethora of research (let alone common sense) suggests that our reliance/addiction to social media and its associated devices is already having a profoundly deleterious effect on basic cognitive skills, human interaction, attention spans and functional intelligence. Factor in a cocktail of narcissistic personality disorders and body dysmorphic disorders (with a chaser of smartphones and other hand-held devices) and humankind looks at last set to plunge over the precipice of unfathomable stupidity. Doubtlessly technologists (and the teams of psychologists who work for them), minutely design every latest gadget to further exploit the very human weaknesses of vanity and the desperate need to be endlessly and

Social Media in the 21st Century

pointlessly distracted. A chronically selfobsessed, trivialised generation (like no other generation before it) of ‘selfie’ snappers and banal ‘tweeters’ is the technocrat’s utopia. Disinterested, disenfranchised and disengaged from the outside world, ‘Generation Now’ (the iGeneration) have become tyranny’s best enablers – politically, philosophically and spiritually ineffective – vapid consumers and mindless infants. Delivering themselves up ‘freely’ to the corporate-military-complex – their every mood, ‘status’, location, relationship and conversation accessible in real time or stored in vast information vaults secreted away in distant desert bunkers. The very architecture of social media seems intrinsically designed to be nothing more than a gargantuan electronic trap to collect as much data, biometric and psychological information as possible about the population. Facebook’s notorious ‘experiments’ in ‘emotional contagion’ and political herding become even more sinister when placed in their rightful context. Despite Facebook’s chummy image and branding, ostensible founder Mark Zuckerberg has made it clear in numerous interviews his desire to mould a future of what can only be described as pure techno-totalitarianism. A consumer’s/user’s every action and thought mediated through the ‘safe’ interface of Facebook – always surveilled, always stalked and tabulated – available to corporations and intelligence agencies at all times. ‘Dangerous’ physical interactions minimized and discouraged. Whilst Facebook may have a hidden nativity story, its birth secretly shepherded by funds channeled through In-Q-Tel (the CIA’s venture capital arm), the same in fact may also apply to the very foundational platforms of the Internet itself. Recent research by journalist Nafeez Ahmed has revealed the cozy (symbiotic even) relationship between (‘Don’t Be Evil’) Google and the entire American intelligence apparatus. Mediated through a decades-old shadowy group known as the ‘Highlands Forum’ – leading technologists, corporate heads and intelligence chiefs have met

privately innumerable times to crosspollinate innovations, strategies and policy. Ahmed makes it clear that the entire contemporary surveillance landscape may well have been seeded through the Highlands Forum, as business and the secret state pursue their (remarkably similar) aims. Much like the unspoken ‘revolving door’ that operates between the Pentagon and the armaments industries – the board members and senior officials of Google, Facebook and alike have the striking habit of being familiar faces from the recesses of the Pentagon, CIA, NSA and so on. So ubiquitous is this limited personnel pool, that ultimately the question must be asked whether Google and Facebook are simply not just clandestine arms of the national security state. No matter how earnestly we may choose to look the other way, even the bedrock technology of the Internet itself (developed apparently to protect communications in case of a devastating nuclear conflict at the height of the Cold War) are naturally products of ARPA (the predecessor of today’s DARPA) the research and development arm of the Pentagon. Does it take the mind of a paranoiac to wonder whether decades of social engineering research, think-tank profiling and Rand Corporation policy directives, coupled with the natural desires of bureaucrats, tyrants and salesmen (control of a captive market), has finally produced the perfect homogenized and pasteurized Panopticon Supermarket? An online, and global, Stepford village. The only rational reaction to such a possibility is disconnection. To remove oneself from the insidious web of trivia, celebrity inanities, prefabricated media events and puerile conversation. Escape from the moronic matrix. But who has the courage to do that? And anyway, I’ve got to check on the status update of my friend’s friend’s friend of a friend’s friend… This article was published in New Dawn 150. designed to achieve our control, debasement and ultimate enslavement. And this is where the conscious examination of this issue becomes truly problematic, as we are attempting to perceive and describe this scenario with the very mind that was designed with the intent to prevent us from doing this very thing. This is also why language very quickly becomes problematic, as we attempt to use it to give our thoughts expression. And so, we come to the Toltec mask. The Toltecs came to see these issues very clearly, and in their determination to resolve this scenario, they chose to work with the metaphor of the mask. The Toltec seers discerned the presence of the organic human in its true, un-parasitized state. This energetically indigenous state

as racism, warfare, and male domination should have been selected by evolution, since they would have had no benefit to us. In fact, as we have seen, individuals who behaved selfishness and ruthlessly would be less likely to survive, since they would have been ostracized from their groups. On the contrary, it makes more sense to see traits such as cooperation, egalitarianism, altruism, and peacefulness as natural to human beings. These were the traits that were prevalent in human life for tens of thousands of years, during the so-called era of evolutionary adaptedness, and so presumably these are the strongest traits in us now. Of course, you might argue that if this is case, why do present-day humans often behave so selfishly and ruthlessly, and why are negative traits, like warfare and male domination, so normal to many cultures?

Page 17

was described as the “first face”. This is the true face of the organic Human Being (the Anthropos), before it has been programmed with the parasitic form of the mind. As the programming takes place, especially during childhood, more and more layers of enforced identity are “given” to the child – these layers can be seen metaphorically as masks. The work of the Toltec is to enter into a process of recapitulation. This process is conceived as the removal of successive layers of programming, in the form of successive layers of masks. For example the “mask of the victim” is possibly the most powerfully operative mask, and its effects resonate incredibly powerfully through our individual and collective psyches. It is through trauma that the wounded psychic state necessary for the installation of the parasite is created. We can, if we choose, begin to examine the current human condition in a healing way. The current mind of the human is a parasitic

entity, and much of what it produces is designed to work against our own good and our own well-being. The mis-identification of our real and true being with, and as, this mind made simulacrum self, can now be seen to be an illusion, a waking hallucination. We can see the set of programs that are operating against us as a set of individual “masks”. And each of these masks can be examined, read, investigated and ultimately removed and/or healed. The masks are not us, they are simulacra, copies, and not very good ones at that. They do not withstand close scrutiny once we decide to begin our work of spirit. For it is our true spiritual essence and power that enables us to wipe away the masking layers of lies, deception and corruption. We must do this work for ourselves. It is not always easy and it is certainly not always fun to be profoundly confronted by the masks that we have worn. But “worn” is the right word, because the old programs and the old

However, we should perhaps view these traits as the result of environmental and psychological factors. Research has shown repeatedly that when the natural habitats of primates (such as chimpanzees) are disrupted, they tend to become more violent and hierarchical. So perhaps something similar has happened to us, since we gave up the hunter-gather lifestyle and switched to farming, and then started to live in towns and cities. Another possible theory (which I put forward in my book The Fall) is that the “fall” into warfare and hierarchy (and other negative traits) was related to a psychological change that occurred in some groups of people, beginning around 6,000 years ago: the development of a heightened sense of individuality and separateness. At any rate, these negative traits developed so recently that it’s not feasible to explain them in adaptive or evolutionary terms. It is therefore inaccurate to portray human beings as genetic machines who are only concerned with their own survival and replication, and whose selfish and ruthless nature is the inevitable consequence of their

prehistoric struggle to survive. The “good” side of our nature is much more deep-rooted than the “evil” side.

masks are getting very worn out. The old masks are failing us now, and as this becomes more and more obvious in the world, the enforcement of the wearing of these old masks becomes more and more overtly violent. But we must remember that we did not choose these masks – they were given to us against our will. The realization of the fact that we were innocent children, and we were given no choice, is the pivotal moment. The pivotal moment of our transformation is the choice – to continue to be identified with our victimization – or to see that “the victim” is just another mask we were given to wear. We are not our masks. We are the incredibly beautiful spiritual beings that are only temporarily obscured from view. © 2018 Murray Hill https://sorendreier.com/you-arenot-your-mask/

About the Author DAVID THRUSSELL is a poet trapped in the body of a hillbilly. Or a hopeless romantic hidden in the twisted frame of a dark electronic musician. Late at night Thrussell fantasises that actually he lives next door to Hieronymous Bosch in Medieval Europe and has hallucinated the whole dreadful modern era while suffering from acute ergot poisoning. We are not entirely convinced that this is not the case. The world knows him (if it knows him at all), as the creator of a seeming multitude of obscure recordings (Snog, Black Lung and Soma among others) and film scores. the driving force, demand for CBD healing extracts, nutritional supplements and beauty products is definitely growing. One appealing factor of CBD products is that they are non-psychoactive. This means that you won’t get high on CBDs like you would when using THC-rich medical cannabis. Don’t get me wrong. THC, the cannabis plant’s psychoactive substance, has many of its own benefits. Yet, truthfully, it can make many people uncomfortable. Some people using cannabis may end up feeling dizzy, nervous, or “spaced out” instead of the stereotypical happy high. The second advantage is the accessibility of CBD products, versus medical cannabis. The latter is still illegal in the majority of U.S. states and, globally, in most countries. On the other hands, CBD product suppliers that ship to all 50 states are now very common.

From page 6 with anxiety and panic attacks. In addition, a growing trend is using CBD and hemp for dogs that suffer from nervousness or anxiety. Here’s what Dr. Clauw says about CBD for anxiety: “It seems to have sort of a calming effect on the brain, although the precise mechanism by which it exerts these effects is not really well understood. I do recommend that patients try CBD first without THC, because you may be able to get the benefit without the side effects.”

n It May Treat Acne and Other Skin Ailments Second to pain reduction, science has shown that CBD has a significant antiinflammatory effect. (In fact, this may be one of the reasons it works so well on pain!) Inflammation affects all of our organs and can cause many ailments and diseases. This doesn’t exclude the skin, which is our biggest organ. Interestingly, the skin has the most cannabinoid receptors, such as the ones in the brain. This makes CBD a promising remedy for skin ailments, including acne. Dr. Francesca Fusco, who is a dermatologist in New York City, states the following about CBD: “Studies have shown it can improve reduced barrier function, improve hydration, minimize moisture loss, and decrease inflammation.”

Mind Mastery From page 7

bio-photons decreases, and the excess tissue is reabsorbed, accompanied by what GNM calls healing symptoms. According to GNM, these physiological processes are governed by the psyche (mind), which is the same essential premise asserted by Sheldrake, Lipton, and Dispenza. What this suggests is that mind, or consciousness (if you prefer that term), is a priori or comes before material organization, that is, the mind or animating feature of life is a precondition, not an a posteriori feature— something that comes after. In other words, life is not the random assembly of material that sometimes produces coherent structures (body) and behavior (consciousness) as mainstream science asserts. The opposite appears to be true. That is, consciousness is not the byproduct of matter; matter is the byproduct of consciousness. Biological life is the consequence of a living field, a divine field as Dispenza calls it, which governs the behavior of living things.

Creating from the Divine Source with Dr. Joe Dispenza www.youtube.com/ watch?v=qSpHj5RBQMs

Ancient hermetic philosophers, to name one out of a litany of sources from antiquity, have long asserted that mind is primordial to matter and the physical realms. Walter Russell, a mystic genius from the early 20th century who inspired Nikola Tesla and many others, asserted that the living mind of the Creator is still magnetic light, given dynamic form by pressure differentials in polarized swirling electric fields generated by conscious thought and attention. Simply put, awareness (the receptive in-flowing, cathode-like, or feminine aspect of consciousness) and will (the active outflowing, anode-like, or masculine aspect of consciousness) come together and form a union of order we recognize as life. In the physical realms, this life takes on a fractal form, as energy systems produce extreme coherence (order). In the mental realms, life Page 18

One of the studies likely influencing Dr. Fusco’s opinion is research published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation by Olah et al. Although this study only examined human cell cultures, instead of live people, it showed that CBD is a potential treatment of acne vulgaris.

n Why CBD Demand Is Growing Although most CBD products are not FDA-approved, people suffering from all types of health and mental issues are eager to give them a try. It may be media hype, or, more likely, the desperate need for effective treatments with fewer side effects. Whatever takes on coherence of logic and reason, along with emotion and feelings, giving rise to insight, creativity, and sense-making thoughts. Rupert Sheldrake’s assertion that living things engage in a kind of telepathy, with varying degrees of information transmission, is further confirmed by the work of Dr. Michael Persinger. Dr. Persinger, who helped invent the infamous God-helmet along with Stanley Koren, theorized that the influence of coherent magnetic fields on inter-mind communication— as demonstrated by experiments Dr. Persinger conducted with famous remote-viewer Ingo Swann—suggest that mind is not localized within the body, although it is responsive to it. Going even further, this suggests that magnetic fields not only allow information to be exchanged between minds in a way mainstream science doesn’t fully understand, but that the field also stores information in a kind of global-mind memory system—the collective consciousness of humanity. And what’s more, various secretive military industrial complex projects have already developed advanced electromagnetic devices capable of influencing the body-mind system, transmitting voices, images, and feelings, and even memory augmentation. All of this suggests that consciousness is far more instrumental to reality and its dynamics than what mainstream science has dared to admit. This also implies that when a mind develops the capacity to auto-organize, it can inform the field and not just be controlled by it; in other words, self-directed evolution can occur. The greater an organisms coherence the greater it’s capacity to impart coherence to the outer-world, by way of entrainment. Based on available research, owing to individuals who’ve gained a measure of mind mastery, one can develop an internal dynamic coherence, producing a strong consciousness signal, for lack of a better term, that can actually override deleterious electromagnetic fields, especially electro-smog and electromagnetic weaponry. Consciousness seems to be the greatest tool ever placed in the hands of humankind. But due to various ideological setbacks, this tool of tools has been largely dismissed as unimportant, or even non-existent. And even those who do recognize the

n Conclusion If you would like to hear more insights from a medical professional regarding CBD, click here for an interview with Dr. Kevin Frey. Dr. Frey is an MD who trained at the Mayo Clinic. In the interview he shares his perspective on CBD benefits, including mental health, stress reduction and addiction treatment. If you want to try CBD for a specific ailment, you are just a few clicks away from accessing a variety of products. Of course, there are many options in CBD products. If you find these options confusing, in his interview, Dr. Frey shares some ideas on all-pervading power of consciousness can sometimes be persuaded to think that mind is their enemy instead of an ally. However, there is a growing body of researchers, truth-seekers, and practitioners who are abandoning this materialistic viewpoint and have gained immeasurable governing power over their own being. “I warn you, whoever you are… Oh, you who wish to probe the arcanes of nature, if you do not find within yourself that which you seek, neither shall you be able to find it outside. If you ignore the excellencies of your own house, how do you intend to find other excellencies? In you is hidden the treasure of treasures. Oh, man, know thyself and thou shall know the Universe and the Gods!” — Phrase inscribed in the ancient Temple of Delphi. It seems that science, spirituality, and life experience itself all points to the development of consciousness, the mastery of mind and self, as the greatest thing anyone can do to empower themselves in the gaining of a prosperous life. In order to tap into the all-organizing power of mind, one needs to develop a real practice of self-mastery. This seems to be greatly assisted by a holistic and eclectic viewpoint on reality. That is, the greater one’s capacity to become aware of information (open-mindedness), organize it coherently (singular knowledge), and act within it (wisdom), the more powerfully that person’s mind can organize their reality, whether biological, mental, emotional, or spiritual. In other words, what we choose to do with our time greatly impacts the order we give to our lives. If one denies that they have this power, if they believe that they are the victim of external reality instead of its conductor, then they will never develop these essential self-organizing skills. But if one dares to believe that they can accomplish almost anything, if they set their mind to it, seemingly all things are possible. In this sense, the lives we live are not unlike a ship cast adrift on the seas of experience. Those who find the time to learn how to raise the sails, steer the rudder, and plot a proper course, will navigate the oceans of

“That which we do not bring to consciousness appears in our lives as fate.” — Carl Jung

hat is the Shadow Self? We’ve likely heard of it referred to as our “dark side,” but what does it truly mean and how is it formed? Is it to be feared or venerated? If the Shadow is so unimportant, why does it seem to assert itself despite our many attempts to quash it’s urges? The Shadow Self encompasses aspects of our personalities we choose to reject or suppress. We have our own personal shadow, and society reflects our collective shadow – the parts we all choose to ignore. Much of the pain we see reflected in the world is a form of the collective Shadow. It is no coincidence that the “Shadow Government” and its workings play out as an exaggerated expression of our own sexual perversions, greed, mistrust, moral ineptitude, etc. It is the “real” government that hides in the shadows while the idealized government that everyone wants to believe in parades on like a comedic, nationalistic puppet show. The “Deep State” is like the deep Self, repressed and ignored for hundreds of years as it goes around the world causing unchecked havoc and violence (until very recently as we all become more willing to look at our own personal Shadows). Psychologist Carl Jung is famous for formulating the concept of the Shadow, but it has likely been around since human beings had personalities. He borrowed the term from philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. Both great thinkers warned against the exceptional dangers of excessive unconsciousness. Anger, selfishness, violent tendencies, the quest for uncontrollable power, and sexual desires are all undesirable traits which are frowned upon by society, and are concealed to avoid scrutiny. In brief, we have an idealized self, and then we have a shadow self. We are more accurately, a combination of the two. However, there are benefits of confronting and developing the shadow, and as such, Jung often referred to this neglected part of ourselves as the “Golden Shadow,” hinting at the gifts which this part of us can bestow if we are brave enough to look at what we’ve repressed – often over an entire lifetime (or several). ‘‘The shadow,’’ wrote Jung in 1963 is ‘‘that hidden, repressed, for the most part inferior and guilt-laden personality whose ultimate ramifications reach back into the realm of our animal ancestors and so comprise the whole historical aspect of the unconscious.’’ Freud was pathologically oriented. He was focused on what is wrong with us/what is not working, but Jung was teleologically oriented – meaning he was focused on what is right with us or whole within us. And this includes us with our dark sides, and Shadow Selves. The psychological Shadow is not very different from a shadow formed when we

relative to the Self archetype. Instead of false or petty ruler, it becomes the loyal servant. This new reconstructed ego has the capacity to be responsive, creative, flexible and is available for the big work of transformation. So, we are not trying to get rid of ego as is often misunderstood, but we are wanting ego to recognize its’ true place of service. Being able to recognize and name this process for someone can bring extraordinary relief.” How do you address the Shadow Self, and bring it into the light? There are seven signs that your Shadow is showing. Instead of squashing these tendencies, notice when you engage in them, and sit in silence to ask which aspects of your darker side are asking to be addressed and healed.

& How to Use It to Become Free walk in the sun. In physical reality, a shadow is nothing more than a dark area where light is blocked by an opaque object. Light is not allowed to shine fully, and thus a shadow forms. In our own selves, the places we fail to shine light upon develops into an egoic personality, easily and effectively eliminated or lessened simply by allowing light to flood in. Thus, illumination allows us to free ourselves from the chains of the ego. In Zen teachings, we learn that the ego is the “myth” of the Self – in other words, the parts of ourselves we deny or exaggerate, without a true sense of our Higher Selves. Our self is simply made up by the mind, a flash of being an “I” or a “me” which instructs self-importance. It’s really a story we’ve told ourselves like children, every night before we sleep, and then again when we rise in the morning. This ego-self we cling to is the source of almost all our problems because it is a selfreferential Universe, false in its assumptions of reality. As such, addressing the Shadow Self helps to minimize this false assumption of reality, and bring us closer to Truth and Freedom. Ironically, it is only when we treat the Shadow Self as real that we become free of its illusions. Jung said in his 1951 book, Aion, “The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.” As Theresa Bimka writes, “The good news however is that when the ego finally does relinquish its control – a recalibration – a new homeostasis is found and the ego embraces its new position

1. You Harbor Harsh Criticisms or Judgments of Others Being hard on other people is usually indicative of things we judge harshly in ourselves, but have yet to acknowledge. Judging others is also a sign that our Shadow Self is afraid, feels lonely, or finds it difficult to accept those who are different from ourselves.

2. You Point Out Someone’s Flaws as a Reflection of Your Own Insecurities Mirror, mirror on the wall. . . The famous scene in the Disney movie where a witch asks a mirror ‘who is the fairest of them all?’, is the perfect example of how we project our insecurities onto others. We want to be beautiful, smart, outgoing, and cheerful all the time. We want others to only mirror these traits in us, and like the witch in Snow White be told how wonderful we are, but the mirror of life reflects all that we are – the good, the not so good, and the terrible.

3. You Exercise Unnecessary Power Over Those Who are in Subordinate Positions As a means to compensate for one’s

own feelings of helplessness people in positions of power will exert their will with force or violence (even if it is just verbal) to cover up their own feelings of worthlessness, ineffectiveness or vulnerability.

4. You Play Victim By never taking responsibility, we never address our innate power to direct our lives and to affect change. We’re not martyrs or victims. We are the architects of our own reality. A victim believes that they are at the mercy of everyone and everything around them. And this can be used as an excuse for the lack of progress in their lives. If you can’t be assertive, feel powerless, don’t trust others, can never see the silver lining, constantly see your life as lacking in some way, get into arguments easily, feel sorry for yourself, or constantly compare yourself to others as a means to put yourself down, then you are playing the victim. Realize when you are doing this, and lovingly allow yourself to choose a different way of living.

5. You Refuse to Confront Your Own Bias or Prejudice We’re all biased and prejudiced. It doesn’t matter how many black friends, gay friends, people of different religions, and cultural backgrounds you have, you still have many biases and prejudices. The minute you use the terms “Me,” “My,” “Mine,” or “I” you leave space for bias to creep in. It’s that self-referential universe the ego is constantly creating. To truly address the Shadow we need to vigilantly address our own likes and dislikes, acknowledging that we live with bias on a daily basis. Bravely enter into selfexamination to uncover ways where you are privileged, or you have been using stereotypes to define the people around you. If you have no friends who are different from you, actively seek to make friends with others who are to start to break down your stereotypes. This man who made friends with members of the KKK is a great example of how to eliminate bias

6. You Jockey for Position by Using Others Self-confidence has nothing to do with ego. If you listen to others’ advice, but rarely follow it, always look for ways to “get ahead” while ignoring the well-being of others, find that you alienate others over time but you aren’t sure why, or think that the bottom line is more important than your relationships with other people, you have some Shadow work to do. Speeding ahead to take that spot in traffic while cutting off the car to your right and almost causing an accident is a perfect example of this, but there are obviously thousands of other ways we try to step over (or on) others to inflate our sense of self.

Please see SHADOW SELF, page 20

Shadow Self From page 19

7. You Have a Messiah Complex

If you think you were put on this earth to save everyone from himself or herself, consider that your Shadow Self is asking you to save yourself. This is a dangerous delusion that can cause a world of pain for you and those you try to “save,” as you will potentially rob them of the power to save themselves. Maybe you don’t claim to be Jesus Christ, but if you constantly act like no one around you can take up their own responsibilities, you may as well.

In Closing While addressing these personal traits it may be uncomfortable, there is gold in the Shadow. As Jung expressed, “Creativity can spring from the constructive expression or integration of the shadow, as can true spirituality.”

he Young and the Restless Clothing Exchange is the first clothing exchange store in Vancouver. Clothing exchange started in the United States many years ago, and we decided to adopt it due to its sustainable approach to fashion. It is similar to consignment, but rather than opening an account for your designer items and being paid only when your garment sells, we buy and/or trade on the spot. However, we are not only clothing exchange, we also encourage spirituality and rehabilitation and reintegration for youth who have unfortunately abused substances but are looking to change. This year we have dedicated part of our budget to purchase pyrite and other crystals as a Back to School initiative for our youths- crystals are an aspect of our approach to spirituality. In terms of helping those in recovery, we are working on a youth outreach program which will encourage positive and safe outlets for whatever teens are dealing with, before they turn to substance abuse. The Youth Outreach we are building will also encourage

disconnecting oneself from all the technology around us. A few decades ago, and especially recently, technology has exploded. This has allowed us to go above and beyond what we had ever been able to accomplish prior to this technological explosion. However, it also caused stagnation in reference to imagination, physical activity, mental health, and so much more. Technology is becoming an electronic parasite, everyone is connected to its stream one way or another, and its result is not all positive. People are losing the ability to imagine, and think for themselves- how awful is that! Any good thing that we have ever accomplished was achieved by the innovators, the dreamers, and visionaries of the world. Yet, less and less are we seeing these dreamers and visionaries because people are losing the ability to think for themselves without relying on what has already been put out there. How are we to achieve, and reach out full potential when dreams cannot be dreamt- thus cannot be made into reality? We have written this because we have dreams, and aspire to become better than we

are, and better than we ever were. We want to see positive change in the world- and to uschange starts with the young. Our location is passed by approximately 2400 people daily, however we need help. While located on a busy street, our location has a small window, and an awning that does not capture people’s attention, thus making advertising, and attracting customers difficult. With our limited funds, as we are a non profit organization, we have not been able to change our awning or improve our signage to call for volunteers to help us initiate our outreach. The New Agora is our dream place to advertise our visions, and attract people to trade and volunteer with us. We are ecstatic to be able to hand out this magazine at our location as we believe in its messages; we hope that you also believe in ours. 1533 W. Broadway Van. BC. knowledge you’ve digested, or how many religions you’ve memorized and regurgitated, the God in yourself always brings you back to Beginner’s Mind. Back to creative innocence. The beauty is that you also have experience to add to the mix. You have questioned things to the nth degree. You have stood upon the shoulders of giants. It’s all a delicious muscle memory inside you. Now it’s time to be the pearl, despite (or

because of) the rub. To be the diamond, despite (or because of) the rough. Beginner’s Mind keeps us humble by reminding us that we are still grit and coal, but it also empowers us to be creative with having become a pearl and a diamond. Being a pearl and a diamond means being creative. It means using your imagination as a tool that leverages a healthy and progressive evolution for the species. It means creating your own meaning. It means taking everything that you’ve learned into consideration with humility and a good sense of humor and making magic out of it.

The God within you longs for meaning, and it longs to create its own meaning more than anything else. Creating your own meaning is taking all the answers that you’ve questioned and all the meanings that you’ve collected and connecting them in a way that has never been done before. It’s your finite Fibonacci sequence striving for the infinite Phi. It’s your humanity crossing the bridge to the Overman. It’s your Initiation into becoming one of the Giants. It’s your cosmic fingerprint blazing like an ancient rune on the side of Evolution. It’s your Immortality Project. It’s your

“To follow is human, to lead is divine.”

Human Nature

e are born into a reality designed to condition us into submission. Our daily lifestyle is rooted in a default pattern of blind servitude. We are enslaved by an artificial realism so ingenious it exploits our belief to sustain its existence. Our human virtues are used against us in a merciless and relentless social control system. Once we become engaged in a two-dimensional perception within the three-dimensional reality, we forfeit our connection with our intuition and soul. Our vision narrows, our intention is repressed and our experience is transmuted from one of action to reaction.

Social Programming Our dependence begins before we are born. Social standards foster our reliance upon others. Though we have the freedom and opportunity to enlighten ourselves with our experience, we are conditioned through education, environment, heredity and religion. Therefore, many never fulfill their personal development of individuation. Society alters, diminishes and distorts our creativity, insight and originality into an everyday routine of intellect, desire and instinct. Adolescence is our last stand before we inevitably abandon our choice to make a difference in our lives and the world.

Boundaries of Being We are not encouraged to thrive on our destined path. We merely survive the constant imposition of authoritarian social agendas to dehumanize and desensitize us into ordinary thoughts, behaviors and actions. The balance between positive and negative in the critical mass of humanity trends grossly toward the latter. Human negativity has woven its

In the Shadow of Brilliance chaotic and dense frequencies into the roots of our existence. Social reality isolates us in numerous ways to stimulate our animosity, envy and opposition. It uses our own anger, doubt, fear and resignation to condemn us into a dualistic state of being.

Design of Dependence Our social conditioning is stimulated by an inauthentic obligation to coexist. Most relationships are compromised by conflict, culpability and dysfunction. We are socially obligated to be reliant upon others. This false necessity provides a fruitless experience that ultimately leads to separation. It is not the alienation between us and the people in our lives that causes our loneliness. It is the dissociation we have with our self that leads to this widespread societal disorder. Our apathy, doubt, fear and futility produce delusions of bravery, certainty, fortitude and grandeur. We are programmed to be dependent upon others at the cost of our soul.

Into Shadow We are raised to follow. Once we are institutionally indoctrinated into the captivity of reality, we instinctively settle into lifestyles of social opposition. Our lack of commitment, confidence and practice in our lives prevents their fulfillment. The visions of others appear more credible to us than clarifying, expressing and manifesting our own. We emulate them out of desperation to conform instead of creating our own with the intention of belonging. In the moment we decide to follow in another’s footsteps, we sacrifice our vision, personal power and purpose. Inevitably, we resign our

leadership and become a shadow of our self.

“Truth to one is a lie for another.”

A Dime a Dozen There are millions of charismatic, overconfident people who line up to take a swing at our curious sensibilities. Those who possess just enough arrogance, ego and knowledge to believe their perception of how our life is best lived. It is easy for them to assume this role when we become enchanted by their alluring presence, eloquent expression and magnetic personality. Yet, when the rubber of their wisdom meets the road of our daily experience, it fails to deliver fulfillment. We inhibit our soul when we give them our enthusiasm, energy, interest and trust. Our personal power is abandoned for an illusion of being.

The Forest for the Trees Everything we have ever felt, thought, said, done or been resides in the oblivion of our memory. We cling to our triumphs and downfalls of the past and the promise and anxiety of our future. Who we were yesterday or who we are to become does not serve us in the present. All of us yearn for belonging, importance, meaning and transformation. Yet, we often fail to create a life that inspires us due to our fear of failure and ridicule. Our true path is one we must walk alone amid great adversity, opposition and uncertainty. Our greatest challenge is being conscious in the moment.

Inner Compass We were never meant to follow. Our best opportunity in life is to disengage from

the mainframe of social reality and relate exclusively with our soul and the universe. Manifesting our true self, fulfilling our unique purpose and supporting others in theirs is our mutual calling. This is the most challenging path we will ever walk. There are few instructions and fewer signs to guide us. Only the universal force that compels and inspires our creativity, insight and transformation. Every option we choose contrary to our destiny takes us further away from who we are meant to be.

Quest for Fire Our lives are burdened with social obligation at the cost of our purpose. The sole shadow we are captive to is our own. We are the only ones who can claim our power. However daunting a task it may be, the utmost form of personal failure is choosing not to embrace and express it. Each of us receives an infinite amount of energy from the universe. This is the multi-dimensional essence that connects our soul with our heart, mind and body. It is the source of our power. How we embody, cultivate and emanate it defines whom we become. We are the soul creators of our experience.

Source of Empowerment Our life has infinite possibilities. Our choices, intentions, passions and willingness define how it exists in society. It is one thing to emulate an ordinary life based upon our perception, what we know and how we survive. It is another thing entirely to create an extraordinary life based upon our intuition, who we are and how we thrive. We are superconductors who empower, inspire and navigate our way through the chaos, confusion and gravity of social reality. Our choice to manifest our purpose is the only power that will transform our experience.

Creativity is the expression to our brilliance.”
