The Age of Confusion by V. Susan Ferguson WakingTimes.com

O

n March 17, 2011, the UK Guardian published a report warning that social media is being manipulated:

Revealed: US Spy Operation that Manipulates Social Media - Military’s ‘SockP Puppet’ Software Creates Fake Online Identities to Spread ProAmerican Propaganda. “The US military is developing software that will let it secretly manipulate social media sites by using fake online personas to influence internet conversations and spread pro-American propaganda. A Californian corporation has been awarded a contract with United States Central Command (Centcom), which oversees US armed operations in the Middle East and Central Asia, to develop what is described as an “online persona management service” that will allow one US serviceman or woman to control up to 10 separate identities based all over the world.” …each fake online persona must have a convincing background, history and supporting details, and that up to 50 USbased controllers should be able to operate false identities from their workstations “without fear of being discovered by sophisticated adversaries”. Frequency Prisons

Be aware, on the Internet these days there

are many locations in consciousness that may be described as Frequency Prisons. The consciousness of the readers is kept in a certain specific limited range of frequency by the dolling out of a slow, low-grade level of constant addictive apprehension. The people behind these websites may have once held the best of intentions; they may not even now know what they are doing and what they are involved in. But nevertheless they have created walls that entrap consciousness in fear — and enlightenment eludes the fearful. We cannot go Home in Fear. In forums there is a technique to this that may have begun innocently to attract subscribers, but has since become a business. There are ‘regulars’, meaning posters who have built specific identities. And just as actors can take on any role, these regulars reflect an assigned state of mind, a character that perceives the world through a specific spectrum. One may pose as the warning-of-doom do-gooder, another as the chronic hopelessly depressed, or maybe the knows-it-all science-guy, or the new age housewife psychic, or a flamboyant pistolpacking ex-military dude. All are one-dimensional created characters. None of us are ever so one-dimensional. For the sake of enthralling entertainment, they work in tandem playing the reader, the sucker. The threads created by these onedimensional characters inevitably carry the same repetitive frequency of a chronic apprehension, promulgating unease and doubt — but little if any truth. These threads of insidious fear are tolerated, even encouraged by the moderators. There is a comfort zone and misplaced trust for the addicted innocent reader

Mass Manipulation, Propaganda and Frequency Prisons

in knowing the state of mind of the ‘regular’ poster, who often has an accompanying symbolic graphic identity. Last year I posted briefly on a forum, which shall remain un-named. On one thread the ‘regular’ must have been drunk when I confronted him with being a paid fake. He said, “Yep! The boss says to just keep them entertained!” Well, as you may imagine his moderators soon noticed this half-wit revealing error and quickly moved in to cover the blunder. The ‘regular’ expressed a bit of anger towards me and addressed me as if I was a man. I suppose a woman is considered too stupid to figure out their game. I did what I could to expose them, but was met with an avalanche of resistance, some quite nasty. Anyone who challenges these actors is derided as being immature and paranoid. The fear created by the actors is transferred onto and attributed to the one who dares to expose the fact that the participants are acting, roleplaying to make the forum entertaining. Criticism of the challenger comes across as authoritarian or just plain rude arrogance, which is intended to reduce the challenger to a state of self-doubt and bewildered helpless confusion. Treating the challenger like a delusional child who needs reprimanding is yet another technique to keep secret the business of Fear Inc. – and posts are extracted. No one is allowed to expose the mechanics of the intentionally fabricated entertainment. Mechanics of the Crowd The challenger exposing the fraudulent nature of the thread must be stopped. So the

fear-peddling actors move in, perhaps reading the manual. A rude angry meaningless and unrelated comment attacking the motive of the challenger is tried. Oblique anger serves to fuel the thread. Next the original poster chimes in with a reply that shows genuine concern, suggesting the motives of the thread are beyond all reproach. Another asserts no one is afraid, only the challenger! Allay all fears, so the fear thread can go on and on and on. Attack the challenger and accuse them of being a nuisance in an otherwise sincere thread, then validate innocence of intent with ‘respect’ and a fake smile. Finally have someone post express his or her own personal

Peer-to-Peer Economy Thrives as Activists Vacate the System

by Eric Blair

T

he Occupy Movement recently celebrated its second anniversary with very little fanfare leaving many to wonder where all the activists went. It seems they, and many anti-establishment activists, are vacating the system rather than occupying it. Progressives may call it the “sharing economy” while Libertarians may refer to it as Agorism - a “society in which all relations between people are voluntary exchanges by means of counter-economics, thus engaging in a manner with aspects of peaceful revolution.” Whatever it’s called, together, they’re opting out of the current socioeconomic matrix and creating a new alternative economy where trading occurs peer-to-peer and increasingly without government-issued currency. It’s a space where mutual trade occurs without burdensome taxes, regulations, or licenses. Simply put, it’s an underground black market enabled by the Internet and regulated by social feedback mechanisms -- and it’s growing exponentially. Websites like Ebay and Craigslist first made it possible for individuals to sell things or offer services online. Then there was Elance to sell our skills and Freecycle to recycle unused items. And now there are new services that allow users to sublet their stuff; like AirBnB which allows you to rent out a room in your house, Lyft for car pooling or Relay Rides to rent out your car for an hour, or Snap Goods to rent out idle tools or anything else. In addition to “sharing” stuff, people are shunning banks by using crowdfunding and peer-to-peer lending platforms for raising

ActivistPost.com

capital, and digital currencies like Bitcoin are enabling the under-the-table sale of a swelling number of goods and services. It’s also important to acknowledge the growth of passionate silver barterers and the explosion of local food co-ops, which should be considered part of the same movement to opt out of the broken corporate-government system and they’re similarly expanding due to the internet. Local Harvest allows small farmers to sell blueberry pies nationwide or pair up with local customers for cowshares or farmshares. The Economist describes this movement as follows: Just as peer-to-peer businesses like eBay allow anyone to become a retailer, sharing sites let individuals act as an ad hoc taxi service, car-hire firm or boutique hotel as and when it suits them. Just go online or download an app. The model works for items that are expensive to buy and are widely owned by people who do not make full use of them. Watch the Economist video here: http://econ.st/116VSLk Tarun Wadhwa of the Singularity Hub writes “The growth of the “sharing economy,” a loosely defined term generally referring to the internet-enabled peer-to-peer exchanges of goods, has brought with it a shift in the way we think about consumption. Its rise has been fast, and loud. What started with a few enterprising individuals willing to let complete strangers sleep in their homes and use their possessions has now developed into a formidable economic

force that threatens to upend several different industries.” This new decentralized economic model is an obvious threat to the command-and-control economy. It’s shifting billions of dollars out from traditional industries undermining government regulation and tax collection. As such, governments are clamouring to regulate voluntary person-to-person barter. Authorities claim that these services are in some way unsafe and must be regulated. Yet as the Economist video above explains, surprisingly few cases of fraud are reported. What’s more, Wired points out that reputation is replacing regulation in the peerto-peer economy and is proving to be much more effective: By making both product and trader quality instantly transparent, this approach reduces the risks that often lead to market failure. It also provides a first digital safeguard against much of what regulators aim to protect consumers from. After all, profit is a much more powerful driver for quality than regulatory compliance. If your last customer – one who has been vetted by others and has built reputation credibility – complains about the hygiene levels of your shared lodging, your future business prospects on Airbnb are pretty bleak. The technology for transaction-bytransaction feedback from buyers and sellers provides more than enough trust for participants to be comfortable without oversight by government regulators. This fact makes any attempt by authorities to disturb this

market seem protectionist or extortionist. Sharing economy leaders are forming a lobby group called PEERS in an attempt to combat potential regulations: Watch the video here: bit.ly/14Eosp7 The PEERS video above does a nice job explaining this new economy from a personal perspective, however the organization was founded by some establishment figures who are calling for “smart regulations”. Why do we need any regulations for volunteering at a garden cooperative or choosing the best childcare provider as recommended by our peers? Surely any possible dispute could be handled within the community or a civil court, right? Additionally AirBnB and Relay Rides offer insurance to mitigate foreseeable problems. As such, this market is rendering government regulations obsolete. There may be many different motivations for those participating in this marketplace, but activists seem to all agree, as Buckminster Fuller said, “You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”

Incarnate Change by Fredalupe!

E

arlier this week I found myself walking through a residential area in Vancouver where I passed one of the first signs I’ve seen in a long time that somebody out there is actually awake, aware and in action. I’ll get back to that in a minute. Now, we’ve been doing this for years and every month, bar none, is a mad scramble to get it all together and paid off and ready for public consumption. As you can tell by my tone and choice of words I’m no great fan of a process by which compromises are forced for a race to be run to the financial finish, the goal of which is printing these words, maybe even eating a little something that month after paying the extortionist fee for the privilege of living in an irradiated and chemically sprayed hovel. Most of the monetary weight of publishing falls on our advertisers since this is a free paper. Actually it falls on us whereas the burden of generating those sales is concerned. But basically that means that unless you folks use, buy or otherwise enjoy whatever products and services are being offered in these pages we first go into debt then we go broke and then of course there is no more ‘free’ paper. We can keep hustling for other business’ interest in publicizing with us (which we do), or playing the mendicants (beggars) and asking for direct support from our readers (which we have), but just because our paper is really, really popular (and it actually is) this doesn’t mean we see any alleviation from the stress of this biz-model, or that we can even pay rent or eat in exchange for our full time efforts involved with this work. And we go to all this trouble and sacrifice for what reason again? Hmmmm. Well that takes us back to the sign I spoke of earlier, posted on telephone poles and mail boxes and stop lights and so on, titled Warning Chemtrails and Chemtrail Zone, with a nifty and telling triangle inside in which a death-head gas-mask stares out over a plane leaving trails behind it. The text underneath it was perfect and to the point stating: “People of Canada and the World, Look Up. We are being Sprayed chemicals by our government! See for yourself - observe the sky. Talk to your family and friends.” Right underneath that paragraph was a smaller one with a powerful gut punch well worth the retelling: “In the last ten years, respiratory disease in Canada has moved from the 8th to 3rd highest cause of death. Asthma rates have more then doubled in the western world and Alzheimer’s disease, a condition caused by aluminium poisoning, has also skyrocketed. If we don’t do anything to stop this scourge, we deserve what we get.” Dang. That kinda says it all. Powerful. Truthful. Right on the money. Black on white. What an awesome, uncompromising and striking format. Kicks everyone’s ass while telling it like it is. Well done. You’re my hero right now, whoever you are. You are the bomb. Thank you. I tried to get a page dedicated to reproducing this or something like it so others can join in the action of ‘info-bombing’ their own neighbourhoods. Heck, I wanted to put it on the front page cover and really take a shot at it, but no-can-do with the way things are with the paper, the advertisers, the stores who have our stands, etc... That’s not to

In Memory

It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of Suriya Amir, beloved partner of Tony Tasker and loving member of the Tasker family. Suriya passed away peacefully in his home in Vancouver, BC, on October 30th, 2013. He was in his fifty-third year.

say that some of them wouldn’t go for it, some of them would, but some are so scared of losing business through ‘offending’ anyone that they’re straightjacketed by the very idea of controversy. So there I was looking at this super effective poster, reflecting on what it meant, what we could do, where we were, certainly not wanting to rip any of them down for our own purposes, feeling that they were perfect and useful where they were, yet being shocked that so many had been actually torn down and burned! I realized that in a sense we’ve been doing something fairly similar all these years, as in posting our info in a public space with the intent of waking others to the dangers of remaining unconscious and irresponsible. To be clear: this poster-maker person has topped us and the good news is so can you: unfettered and free, doing good and kicking ass, low bugdet but high impact. This poster, its message, did something we could never do with an ongoing monthly regardless of how hard we tried that really appealed to me and actually floored me with its strength: Simply the fact that the message and its loving warning was perfectly finite. Wake up or die. Period. Not check in on next month’s free installment of ‘evolution made easy’, or ‘seven steps to stop being an asshole’, or ‘plastic is bad for you so don’t eat it’, or ‘bad people are doing bad things’. Dumbing shit down is what brought us all to this predicament, it’s why some of those beautiful posters were torn away or burned, it’s why I have a hard time doing what I do here in the land of the baked and fried, under lithium skies and an ocean of dying and mutating fish, where every day is halloween and god bless the lizard queen. It’s almost a living. After all it’s easy to pick up a free newspaper and feel like you are participating in changing something or other. Informing yourself is a good thing but it’s just not enough if that’s where it ends. You’ve got to help yourself to change if you want any of it in your life, you’ve got to be the change: the positive stuff, I mean, because those negative changes, the ones that are coming from so much inaction and unconsciousness are steamrolling ahead, green-lighted by the peoples’ pathetic subservience and ignorant obedience. Remember folks: If we don’t do anything to stop this scourge, we deserve what we get. Every month we come across important information, much more than we could possibly publish in a monthly thirtytwo page format, some of which we find so important that it becomes quite stressful to have to wait until our next issue to be able to share them with our readers. To alleviate this pressure we have begun posting more and more current information and videos on our website daily: www.thenewagora.ca . A lot of work for an already overworked bunch, but giving us a worldwide reach. Working through the print medium in this format has taught us much in the way of what’s possible and what’s not, even to the degree of now having greater understanding, appreciation, and some sympathy for all those presently lost in the mainstream world of media manipulation and mass control, for producers and consumers alike. There is, of course, something inherently weakening about being dependant on the present system of ‘economy’ offered to us by the old paradigm, part of the obviously top-heavy design of the model, to be sure. It’s a slippery slope with little more than governmental pitfalls, sticky red tape (red for a reason), black holes of lightswallowing debt and murky moral dangers everywhere the eye turns. All ages welcome, folks. Amazingly enough many of our readers are only ready for so much, this to the degree that it affects the information we can share in print. This situation is personally difficult in that I find myself too often in a kind of editorial compromise, in a sense censoring information and ideas guided by a combination of what the majority of our readers are ready for and what the majority of our distributions spots will allow. You wouldn’t believe some of the grief we’ve received lately for simply daring to have a nipple showing on one of our covers from time to time. I leave it to your imagination to fill in what it might be like for us when we bring up subjects that really rock the boat. Our work together is truly on a global scale. Only being able to reach people locally for the most part, when it has become abundantly obvious to us that it’s a much bigger party, has also led us to face challenges and frustrations of a worthwhile nature whereas our absolute conviction that we do indeed need to grow beyond our present circumstances is concerned. Perhaps this is a good metaphor for the whole lot of us in these times. After all, if we are to prosper and evolve in our doings and beings together: limitations must by definition be surpassed, and, indeed, a better model must be proposed and in place to allow for that growth to exist and flourish. Intelligence of design is all around us, inside us, it’s what and who we are. The natural world of beauty of which we are a part is our proof

Foods the Experts Won't Eat conducted by the USDA and researchers from Clemson University found that compared with corn-fed beef, grass-fed beef is higher in betacarotene, vitamin E, omega-3s, conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), calcium, magnesium, and potassium; lower in inflammatory omega6s; and lower in saturated fats that have been linked to heart disease. “We need to respect the fact that cows are herbivores, and that does not mean feeding them corn and chicken manure,” says Salatin. The solution: Buy grass-fed beef, which can be found at specialty grocers, farmers’ markets, and nationally at Whole Foods. It’s usually labeled because it demands a premium, but if you don’t see it, ask your butcher.

ood scientists are shedding light on items loaded with toxins and chemicals–and simple swaps for a cleaner diet and supersized health. Experts from different areas of specialty explain why they won’t eat these eight foods. Clean eating means choosing fruits, vegetables, and meats that are raised, grown, and sold with minimal processing. Often they’re organic, and rarely (if ever) should they contain additives. But in some cases, the methods of today’s food producers are neither clean nor sustainable. The result is damage to our health, the environment, or both. So we decided to take a fresh look at food through the eyes of the people who spend their lives uncovering what’s safe– or not–to eat. We asked them a simple question: “What foods do you avoid?” Their answers don’t necessarily make up a “banned foods” list. But reaching for the suggested alternatives might bring you better health–and peace of mind. 1. The Endocrinologist Won’t Eat: Canned Tomatoes

3. The Toxicologist Won’t Eat: Microwave Popcorn Olga Naidenko, is a senior scientist for the Environmental Working Group. The problem: Chemicals, including perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), in the lining of the bag, are part of a class of compounds that may be linked to infertility in humans, according to a recent study from UCLA. In animal testing, the chemicals cause liver, testicular, and pancreatic cancer. Studies show that microwaving causes the chemicals to vaporize–and migrate into your popcorn. “They stay in your body for years and accumulate there,” says Naidenko, which is why researchers worry that levels in humans could approach the amounts causing cancers in laboratory animals. DuPont and other manufacturers have promised to phase out PFOA by 2015 under a voluntary EPA plan, but millions of bags of popcorn will be sold between now and then. The solution: Pop organic kernels the oldfashioned way: in a skillet. For flavorings, you can add real butter or dried seasonings, such as dillweed, vegetable flakes, or soup mix. Make it organic and use coconut oil. If You’re Still Eating Microwave Popcorn, You’re Not Fully Grasping The Health Consequences

Nonorganic Potatoes Jeffrey Moyer is the chair of the National Organic Standards Board. The problem: Root vegetables absorb herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides that wind up in soil. In the case of potatoes–the nation’s most popular vegetable–they’re treated with fungicides during the growing season, then sprayed with herbicides to kill off the fibrous vines before harvesting. After they’re dug up, the potatoes are treated yet again to prevent them from sprouting. “Try this experiment: Buy a conventional potato in a store, and try to get it to sprout. It won’t,” says Moyer, who is also farm director of the Rodale Institute (also owned by Rodale Inc., the publisher of Prevention). “I’ve talked with potato growers who say point-blank they would never eat the potatoes they sell. They have separate plots where they grow potatoes for themselves without all the chemicals.” The solution: Buy organic potatoes. Washing isn’t good enough if you’re trying to remove chemicals that have been absorbed into the flesh.Budget tip: Organic potatoes are only $1 to $2 a pound, slightly more expensive than conventional spuds. 5. The Fisheries Expert Won’t Eat: Farmed Salmon Dr. David Carpenter, director of the Institute for Health and the Environment at the University at Albany, published a major study in the journal Science on contamination in fish. The problem: Nature didn’t intend for salmon to be crammed into pens and fed soy, poultry litter, and hydrolyzed chicken feathers. As a result, farmed salmon is lower in vitamin D and higher in contaminants, including carcinogens, PCBs, brominated flame retardants, and pesticides such as dioxin and DDT. According to Carpenter, the most contaminated fish come from Northern Europe, which can be found on American menus. “You could eat one of these salmon dinners every 5 months without increasing your risk of cancer,” says Carpenter, whose 2004 fish contamination

Fredrick Vom Saal, is an endocrinologist at the University of Missouri who studies bisphenol-A. The problem: The resin linings of tin cans contain bisphenol-A, a synthetic estrogen that has been linked to ailments ranging from 4. The Farm Director Won’t Eat: reproductive problems to heart disease, diabetes, and obesity. Unfortunately, acidity (a prominent characteristic of tomatoes) causes Earthing Products offer a convenient way to stay in contact with BPA to leach into your food. the earth while working, relaxing, and sleeping indoors. Studies show that the BPA in most people’s body exceeds the amount that suppresses sperm production or causes chromosomal damage to the eggs of animals. “You can get 50 mcg of BPA per liter out of a tomato can, and that’s a level that is going to impact people, particularly the young,” says vom Saal. “I won’t go near canned tomatoes.” The solution: Choose tomatoes in glass bottles (which do not need resin linings), such as the brands Bionaturae and Coluccio. You can also get several types in Tetra Pak boxes, like Trader Joe’s and Pomi. Exposure to BPA Causes Permanent Damage In OffSpring

study got broad media attention. “It’s that bad.” Preliminary science has also linked DDT to diabetes and obesity, but some nutritionists believe the benefits of omega-3s outweigh the risks. There is also concern about the high level of antibiotics and pesticides used to treat these fish. When you eat farmed salmon, you get dosed with the same drugs and chemicals. The solution: Switch to wild-caught Alaska salmon. If the package says fresh Atlantic, it’s farmed. There are no commercial fisheries left for wild Atlantic salmon. 6. The Cancer Researcher Won’t Drink: Milk Produced With Artificial Hormones Rick North is project director of the Campaign for Safe Food at the Oregon Physicians for Social Responsibility and former CEO of the Oregon division of the American Cancer Society. The problem: Milk producers treat their dairy cattle with recombinant bovine growth hormone (rBGH or rBST, as it is also known) to boost milk production. But rBGH also increases udder infections and even pus in the milk. It also leads to higher levels of a hormone called insulinlike growth factor in milk. In people, high levels of IGF-1 may contribute to breast, prostate, and colon cancers. “When the government approved rBGH, it was thought that IGF-1 from milk would be broken down in the human digestive tract,” says North. “There’s not 100 percent proof that this is increasing cancer in humans,” admits North. “However, it’s banned in most industrialized countries.” The solution: Buy raw milk or check labels for rBGH-free, rBST-free, produced without artificial hormones, or organic milk. These phrases indicate rBGH-free products. Why Do Humans Still Drink Milk? 7. The Biotech Specialist Who Won’t Eat: GMO Unfermented Soy Michael Harris is biotech specialist who has

The Future is Local, the Future is Organic T

by Colin Todhunter

he future is local. The future is organic. Well, at least it could be if we base our food production on an increasing body of evidence that indicates the harmful effects of petrochemical, corporate-controlled agriculture. In June, researchers at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand concluded that the GM strategy used in North American staple crop production is limiting yields and increasing pesticide use compared to non-GM farming in Western Europe. Led by Professor Jack Heinemann, the study’s findings were published in the International Journal of Agricultural Sustainability. The study finds that Europe is decreasing chemical herbicide use and achieving even larger declines in insecticide use without sacrificing yield gains, while chemical herbicide use in the US has increased with GM seed. In effect, Europe has learned to grow more food per hectare and use fewer chemicals in the process. The US choices in biotechnology are causing it to fall behind Europe in productivity and sustainability. The decrease in annual variation in yield in the US suggests that Europe has a superior combination of seed and crop management technology and is better suited to withstand weather variations. This is important because annual variations cause price speculations that can drive hundreds of millions of people into food poverty. The report also highlights some grave concerns about the impact of modern agriculture per se in terms of the general move towards depleted genetic diversity and the consequently potential catastrophic risk to staple food crops. Of the nearly 10,000 wheat varieties in use in China in 1949, only 1,000 remained in the 1970s. In the US, 95% of the cabbage, 91% of the field maize, 94% of the pea and 81% of the tomato varieties cultivated in the last century have been lost. GMOs and the control of seeds through patents have restricted farmer choice and prevented seed saving. This has exacerbated this problem. The conclusion is that we need a diversity of practices for growing. We also need systems that are useful, not just profit-making biotechnologies, and which provide a resilient supply to feed the world well. On the heels the Heinemann team’s research comes a September 2013 report by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), which states that farming in rich and poor nations alike should shift from monoculture towards greater varieties of crops, reduced use of fertilizers and other inputs, greater support for small-scale farmers and more locally focused production and consumption of food. More than 60 international experts contributed to the report. The report, ‘Wake up before it is too late: make agriculture truly sustainable now for food security in a changing climate’, states that monoculture and industrial farming methods are not providing sufficient affordable food where it is needed, while causing mounting and unsustainable environmental damage. The system actually causes food poverty rather than addressing it. Over the past few years, there have been numerous high level reports from the UN and development agencies arguing in favour of small farmers and agro-ecology, but this has not been translated into real action on the ground where peasant farmers increasingly face

GlobalResearch.com

marginalization and oppression, as we have seen in India. According to Vandana Shiva, the plundering of Indian agriculture by Big Agra is resulting in a forced removal of farmers from the land and the destruction of traditional communities on a scale of which has not been witnessed anywhere before throughout history. Elizabeth Mpofu, general coordinator of the organization La Vía Campesina says that long before the release of this new report, small farmers around the world were already convinced that we need a diversified agriculture to guarantee a balanced local food production, the protection of people’s livelihoods and the respect of nature. To achieve this goal, she feels the protection of the huge variety of local seeds and farmers’ rights to use them is paramount. Small farmers are struggling to preserve their indigenous seeds and knowledge of farming systems. Evidence is mounting that the industrial food system is not only failing to feed the world, but is also responsible for some of the planet’s most pressing social and environmental crises. The industrial food system is directly responsible for around half of all global greenhouse gas emissions. We cannot solve the climate crisis without confronting the industrial food system and the corporations behind it. Pat Mooney of the ETC group adds that the corporate food chain uses about 70-80% of the world’s arable land to produce just 3040% of the food we eat. In the process, peasant farmers, the real food producers, get thrown off their land and tremendous environmental harm is done. This is clearly not the way to feed the world. There are lessons here for India, as the biotech sector continues to push its second ‘Green Revolution’ – GMOs. The original Green Revolution in India has been a failure, with Indian farmers in debt, paying high costs for seed and pesticides, committing suicide, and resulting in a depleted water table and a poisoned environment. Punjab was the ‘Green Revolution’s’ original poster boy, but is fast becoming transformed from a food bowl to a cancer epicentre and now reels under an agrarian crisis marked by discontent, debt, water shortages, contaminated water, diseased soils and pest infested cops. As the new UN report indicates, what is required is a shift from corporate-controlled agriculture towards more biodiverse, organic systems that place emphasis on local economies and food sovereignty. The answer is to return to basics by encouraging biodiverse, organic, local crop systems, which is more than capable of feeding the world – and, unlike chemical intensive agriculture – feeding it healthily.

Monsanto Buys Weather Company Climate Corporation For $1.1B

A

griculture giant Monsanto has announced acquisition of the Climate Corporation, a climate data research company, expecting that its info will help farmers maximize crop yields with fewer resources. The $930 million cash purchase is set to give the company an upper hand in the quickly expanding field of scientific weather data, something that would put vast amounts of climate information at farmers’ fingertips. Monsanto said in a press release that the Climate Corporation “has a core set of support tools to benefit farmers. These include products that help them boost yields on existing farmland and better manage risks that occur throughout a crop season.” The company added that the merger of crops with big data presented a possible $20-billion profit increase across the entire industry.

The Canadian Armed Forces are apparently forcing wounded veterans to sign a form promising not to criticize the military on social media. The military claims that it’s just been designed to “educate” veterans. The statement to the Ottawa Citizen is quite incredible.

But the conclusions contrasted dramatically from previous statements about the research findings from Iraqi Ministry of Health (MOH) officials involved in the study. Earlier this year, BBC News spoke to MOH researchers who confirmed the joint report would furnish “damning evidence” that rates of birth defects are higher in areas experiencing heavy fighting in the 2003 war.

Grapeseed Extract Better than Chemo at Halting Advanced Cancer

T

hanks to research coming out of the University of Colorado Cancer Center, and published in the medical journal Cancer Letters, those suffering from colon and rectal cancers might soon be able to ditch the cancer-causing ‘medicine’ called chemotherapy, and instead utilize a simple herbal extract with better success. Grapeseed extract (GSE) has recently been proven to prohibit cancerous cell growth and to instigate cancer cell death. The bioactive compounds in grapeseed extract are what make chemotherapy seem like an archaic form of treatment, especially considering that chemo and radiation treatments can backfire and cause cancer to come back from remission 10 times stronger than when it was first detected. These treatments kill healthy

cells, but GSE compounds including curcumin and resveratrol leave healthy cells intact while demolishing cancerous ones. GSE is so effective that it treats stage IV cancers with astonishing success. One of the doctors involved with the study stated, “It required less than half the concentration of GSE to suppress cell growth and kill 50 percent of stage IV cells than it did to achieve similar results in the stage II cells.” They go on to explain that GSE targets multiple mutations in cells to eliminate them and stop their proliferation in the body. Read: Milk Thistle Protects Against Chemotherapy Toxicity, Prevents Cancer Just 150 to 250 mg per day of GSE can help to prevent colon and rectal cancers while also preventing numerous other ailments.

mainstay in most Western diets, wheat is normally not associated with mental illness. Yet research has shown an intolerance to compounds within the grain can cause major neurological issues, including psychotic breakdowns. Far from a benign food, wheat has been linked with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and even diseases like multiple sclerosis along with Alzheimer’s. In the spirit of physical and mental health, many are realizing wheat is not a food to be consumed lightly. Dangerous triggers lurking One of the main health-harming culprits is found with wheat germ agglutinin (WGA), a category of lectins. Regardless if the wheat is soaked, sprouted or cooked, these compounds remain intact. Tiny and hard to digest, lectins can accumulate within the body and wreak havoc on physical and mental well-being. WGA is neurotoxic, crossing the blood brain barrier and attaching to the myelin sheath, consequentially inhibiting nerve growth - a serious consideration for those suffering from degenerative neurological diseases such as multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer’s. Lectins also destroy the villi in the intestinal tract, creating an inflamed, leaky gut. Since there is a strong connection between the gut and brain via the vagus nerve, intestinal

ill-health strongly affects the mind, mood and behaviour. The gut is also considered a ‘second brain’, pumping out its own source of feel good neurotransmitters like serotonin. If normal functioning of the intestinal tract is hindered, production of serotonin dips along with stable mental states. As troublesome as lectins are found to be, gliadin in wheat is a worse offender for sensitive individuals. As reported by GreenMed Info, a study published in the journal Psychiatry Research makes the connection between gliadin and states of mania: “The relationship of the antibodies to the clinical course of mania was analyzed by the use of regression models. Individuals with mania had significantly increased levels of IgG antibodies to gliadin, but not other markers of celiac disease, at baseline compared with controls in multivariate analyses ... Among the individuals with mania, elevated levels at follow-up were significantly associated with re-hospitalization in the six month follow-up period.” Likewise, a study at John Hopkins School of Medicine in Maryland had similar findings: “Individuals with recent-onset psychosis and with multi-episode schizophrenia who have increased antibodies to gliadin may share some immunologic features of celiac disease, but their immune response to gliadin differs from that of celiac disease.” And let’s not forget about gluten, the

poster child for celiac disease - and now increasingly, for neurological disorders. Sayer Ji of GreenMed Info believes the ramifications of gluten far surpass the celiac, autistic or schizophrenic individual: “In the same way that the celiac iceberg illustrated the illusion that intolerance to wheat is rare, it is possible, even probable, that wheat exerts pharmacological influences on everyone. What distinguishes the schizophrenic or autistic individual from the functional wheat consumer is the degree to which they are affected.” Even when not suffering from overt mental illness or gluten intolerance, it would be wise to pause and consider the unseen consequences of consuming wheat. Holy Basil – Ayurvedic Tradition of Natural Healing by Neelam Toprani , Formulator of the Sewanti Ayurvedic Series. Sewanti.com

H

oly Basil, or Tulsi, holds the most supreme place, perhaps next to the Lotus, among the various medicinal herbs in India. The ancient scriptures describe it as protector of life accompanying human beings from birth up till death. There are innumerable references of Tulsi in Indian mythology. The ancient Ayurvedic scriptures mentioned the plant in the management of several diseases. The plant has a purifying influence by liberating ozone and also in repelling mosquitoes. Its healing properties are so well established that most people in India grow it in courtyards, and it is traditionally worshipped daily in a ritual for the well being of the family. Botanists have given Tulsi (holy sacred basil)

the Latin name Ocimum sanctum. The species mean both green leafed Rama Tulsi and purple leafed Krishna Tulsi. More recently Ocimum has also been known by Ocimum tenuiflorum meaning “basil with smaller flowers. “ The seeds, leaves and roots of Holy basil have great medicinal value. It is used both internally and externally. Holy basil has mild antiseptic and analgesic properties and relieves the swelling. The leaves when chewed mitigate the infection of the gums. Instillation of fresh juice of the leaves into ears is an effective domestic remedy for ear-aches. A tea made with leaves of holy basil is a common remedy for cold, coughs and mild indigestion. The ancient texts of Ayurveda describe multiple use of Holy Basil in treating impotence, poisoning, dyspnoea, coughs and halitosis, backaches, respiratory diseases and arthritis. Holy basil is traditionally used in many Ayurvedic preparations as a blood purifier in the diseases of blood and heart. It is an immuno-modulator

avigating the myriad natural cleaners on the market can be a challenge these days. To understand how any cleaning product works, we must first understand the composition of ‘dirt’. Dirt is actually layers of fine films made up of greases, oils, fats, bacteria, germs, dustmites, nonorganic material and organic microorganisms. These films are bonded to each other and to the surface by amino and fatty acids. Most cleaners emulsify some of these films using detergents but do not break down amino and fatty acids. Usually the top layers of the films are removed but some of the base layers are left to collect bacteria and, in turn, soil again much faster.

and anti-microbial remedy with strong background for reducing toxicity. Holy Basil has specified actions on the respiratory system. It effectively liquefies phlegm due to its hot and sharp attributes. Holy basil is an effective panacea for coughs due to allergic bronchitis, asthma and eosinophilia. Since time immemorial Holy basil is used as a treatment for nasal inflammation and bronchitis. Due to the anti-allergic property of Holy basil, it provides a protective effect against allergic diseases. In a study without controls, oral administration of an aqueous extract of dried Holy basil to twenty patients with asthma increased the lung’s vital capacity and relieved laboured breathing. Holy Basil contains many bioactive substances including minerals and vitamins, which normalize the disturbed physiological functions of the body by harmonizing the different imbalances (energy formation/ conservation and tissue respiration,

neurological system and neuro-hormones and water/electrolyte system). Ayurvedic pharmacopoeia of India has a long list of herbal preparations with Holy basil as important ingredient. For countless generations, Ayurvedic medical knowledge with its many disciplines and medicinal plants have made an invaluable contribution to modern medical science in the understanding of pathology and in the treatment of diseases due to long history of use and documented evidence of safety and efficacy. In keeping with the guidelines of Ayurvedic classical formulations, the pharmacological and phytochemists team at Sewanti Ayurvedic series has combined the healing properties of Holy Basil in synergy with other important key Ayurvedic herbs to enhance bioavailability of Holy Basil and to stimulate its activity in the formulation. Enzymes attack or digest the amino and fatty acids that bond the films of dirt together and emulsify them so they can be transferred completely off the surface, something regular detergents do not do. In other words enzymes are catalysts that accelerate the natural biodegrading, or breaking down, of organic substrates which, as we said, comprises mostly of soils, insects and ‘dirt’. Enzymes are derived from living organisms and are harmless to humans, animals and marine life, or most of our ecology. he disease/treatment/profit machine requires more and more diseases, even if they aren’t real. Here is an unspoken but largely accepted medical notion of what a disease is: A group of physical symptoms shared by many people, which has a single cause. For example, take the flu. Wikipedia lists the common symptoms: chills, fever, muscle pains, headache, coughing. For each type of flu, there is single virus announced as the cause. E.g., Swine Flu; H1N1 virus. Drug companies develop medicines and vaccines to kill the virus or prevent it from gaining a foothold in the body. They sell the drugs and vaccines. Profits soar. Nice and neat. Of course, many doctors don’t bother to test patients to see if they have a disease like seasonal flu. It’s too time consuming to take a blood sample and send it to a lab and wait for the results. So the doctor makes an eyeball diagnosis based on symptoms and the season of the year. As I explained in my previous article, “What happens when only 16% of flu patients have the flu?”, a cursory investigation of this practice can lead to embarrassing results.

Every year, many blood samples from patients are, in fact, sent to labs, and only a small fraction of these “flu cases” turn out to reveal any flu virus at all. But this fact is blithely ignored. You have hundreds of thousands of people in the US who display the general “flu symptoms,” but it turns out most of them don’t have the flu. They have a variety of other problems. But admitting this is bad for business. How can drug companies justify making flu drugs and vaccines when most “flu cases” don’t have the flu? The solution? Fake it. Pretend all people diagnosed with the flu actually have it. Bottom line? Just because you have a group of people who have the same general symptoms…that doesn’t mean they have the same disease…and it doesn’t mean the same germ is causing their symptoms. Consider Autism. If you were to Google “Diagnostic Criteria for 299.00 Autistic Disorder,” at autreat.com you would read through a whole menu of behaviours. These behaviours are, in fact, the definition of Autism. They are the entire definition. There is NO cause listed. There is no single cause. No germ or fungus or mould or errant gene or neurological defect. So in this instance, the medical cartel

pretends they already somehow know Autism (the collection of behaviours) is a single disease, and “they will eventually find the single cause.” But again, just because you have a great many children who have the same GENERAL symptoms (behaviours)…that doesn’t mean they have the same disease…that doesn’t mean the cause of disease is the same across the board. Nowhere in the definition of Autism will you find a single cause or any sort of bottomline physical explanation. You will only find lists of behaviours. So…how do they know Autism (or each sub-category in the so-called spectrum) is a single disease? THEY DON’T KNOW. YES, the children are suffering. YES, they have serious problems. Yes, they are not like other children. YES. But is Autism a single disease? Is it even a spectrum of different types of “developmental disorder,” as advertised? No persuasive evidence exists to affirm that. I chose Autism for a special reason: the vaccine connection. I’ll try to boil it down. The medical bosses assert that vaccines COULD NOT be the cause of Autism. On what basis do they say this? Follow closely. There are diagnosed cases of Autism where the child did not receive any vaccines. Or the child didn’t receive any vaccine containing the neurotoxin mercury. And since vaccines are demonstrably not the cause IN EVERY CASE OF AUTISM, vaccines are not the cause at all. You might want to read that last sentence again. Single cause of a single disease means: the cause is the same in every case of the disease. This is how the medical bureaucrats refute vaccines as the cause of Autism. This is their “proof.” “Okay. We know (pretend) Autism is a single disease. So it has to have one cause across the board, in every case. Let’s see. Can we find any diagnosed cases where the child didn’t receive vaccines with mercury in them? Yes. We can. All right, end of story. Vaccines

couldn’t cause Autism.” But is Autism (or any sub-type of Autism) a single disease? Is there any convincing proof? Is there a single cause in all cases? No. If there were, you would find it in the official definition of Autism, and it isn’t there. At this point, people repeat familiar medicalpropaganda slogans: “We’re on the cusp of a breakthrough in finding a genetic cause.” “We’re closer than ever.” “It could turn out to be a virus.” “It might relate to early childhood infections.” “Its roots are neurological, and these days we understand that system at a deeper level than ever before.” “We’re seeing similar patterns in brain scans.” All supposition. All speculation. No reason under the sun to accept the idea that what is called Autism is one thing with one cause. In many cases of what is called Autism, we are looking at vaccine damage, pure and simple. Then CALL IT VACCINE DAMAGE, NOT AUTISM. In other cases, the cause would be chemical poisoning from a variety of non-vaccine sources. SO CALL IT CHEMICAL POISONING, NOT AUTISM. In other cases, a severe oxygen deficit. CALL IT OXYGEN DEFICIT. In other cases, major nutrient deficiencies. CALL IT NUTRITIONAL DEFICIENCY. In other cases, all four of these. CALL IT ALL FOUR OF THESE. Call “it” what it is found to be, in that given child. Look into the life and body of each unique child. Stop using the generalized label, Autism. Ah, but if that happened, doctors would be forced to do things they aren’t trained to do. And drug companies, the last time I looked, don’t have a safe and effective drug to reverse vaccine damage. These companies wouldn’t be able to make billions on a drug aimed at some single mythical cause for “Autism.” If Autism isn’t one disease with one cause,

Zeolite: How One Woman Beat Terminal Cancer Naturally!

by By Ashley Peters, Writer/ Therapist/ Cancer survivor

“What the caterpillar calls the end, the rest of the world calls a butterfly” – Lao Tzu.

T

he way I see it, there are two ways of experiencing cancer. The first is viewing it as a caterpillar would, as the ultimate end; the finite. The second is viewing it as a butterfly would, as an experience that may let us fly free from the expectations and realities of the world; to embrace our inner child, our creativity, our light. I believe that my experiences are more aligned with that of the butterfly. In the summer between Canada and Mexico occurs one of the world’s largest migrations of one of the world’s most delicate creatures, the Monarch butterfly. The Monarch migrates 2000 miles, spanning the life cycle of four generations to continue on its legacy. And if we think about the Monarch’s journey and the many challenges it overcomes in such a fragile state, we can also see how this might directly relate to a person with cancer. Having said this, when I first began (unknowingly) upon my journey with cancer, I would not have said that I believed it would be possible to overcome it without the benefits and help of modern science and medicine. I was a firm believer in all medicine had to offer such as taking Paracetamol for headaches, going to the doctor’s when I was unwell, scanning my body with immense amounts of radiation. This article is written not to discredit modern day science or medicine but rather to demonstrate a tried and tested alternative to the pain and suffering that medically “accepted” cancer treatments can create. Generally when people think about cancer, they automatically associate it with hair loss, sickness, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, death. Initially that was what I thought. Now when I think about cancer, I think about it as the body’s way of trying to fight the toxins that are built up over time in the only way it knows how: tumours, or cancer cells. It is almost like filling up a cup with water and looking away for a moment only to turn back to see the water overflowing into the sink. The same thing happens with cancer. We are filling our bodies with chemicals and toxins continuously, knowingly or unknowingly, and are so distracted by other aspects of life that we glance away briefly only to be caught unawares when we suddenly find ourselves exceptionally ill. This is how I was in late 2007 when I discovered I had a brain tumour at the age of 21. I was told I had little hope of living out the next three months and that I should start preparing accordingly. A physically fit person, I was

PureLiquidZeolite.com

shocked that this had occurred and went into survival mode, desperately wanting for things to be different. I had only been going out with my boyfriend for three months, and neither of us were quite ready or willing, or even able to deal with the shock of this discovery. Despite warnings from doctors, neurologist, neurosurgeons and other specialists, I made it clear that I wanted to live my life in those three months with as much joy and excitement as I could. So my boyfriend and I packed our bags and headed on a two month journey through South East Asia. Prior to leaving, we had investigated various alternative treatments for brain tumours and cancers and discovered a mineral compound: Natural Cellular Defence Liquid Zeolite… which is the reason that I am still here today and able to tell my story. In the first few weeks of our trip I was very sick, having numerous seizures a day, and a general malaise overcame me. My boyfriend encouraged me to take the liquid zeolite but I had already come to terms with my “fate” and just wanted to enjoy our last few months together. It wasn’t until our last week in South East Asia that I agreed - I had nothing to lose - and we started on the max dose of 15 drops 3 times daily. The result was amazing. Within 12 hours my seizures had stopped and after a couple of days I was a completely different person. I felt as though my body was freeing itself of all the negative energy it had stored over the years. We were able to have the most amazing end to our trip. Although I felt better when we arrived home, I didn’t get my hopes up. It wasn’t until after I had seen my neurologist and various specialists that the reports came back and my brain tumour had reduced significantly; by about 35%. The doctors were amazed and wanted to operate immediately, but I thought it wiser to continue on zeolite for a little while longer and see what happened. I continued with the zeolite for a couple of months more before my next scan, and to the surprise of my doctor I was cancer free with no sign of cancer cells at all. It’s now been 5 years with no sign of the tumour coming back, and I have been given the “all clear” by my doctor. When I first heard about zeolite, I have to be honest I was a non-believer. But after seeing the results first-hand, I believe that there is so much more to offer than just the traditional methods of treating cancer. Something I read by Dr Gabriel Cousens provides a simple explanation for the everyday person of what zeolite does to cancer cells: “Zeolite’s mechanism of action against cancer cells is unique and unlike that of any other substance I have studied. Theoretically,

it has the rare ability to take in a tremendous amount of positively charged toxins, indirectly neutralizing their effect in causing cancer. In the process, the zeolite develops a slight positive charge. It is then attracted to and pulled right into the negatively charged membrane of the cancer cell. When the zeolite moves inside the cancer cell, the cell’s P21 gene is activated. This gene acts as a tumour suppressor through its ability to control cell-cycle progression. The activation of P21 appears to halt the growth of tumours by directly suppressing growth signals.” Liquid zeolite is a naturally occurring volcanic mineral, which has a unique crystalline structure like a cage and a negative magnetic charge that acts like a magnet. These features give zeolite the ability to trap heavy metals and toxins and remove them from the body. In its raw form, zeolite is already full of metals and other toxins and has a large particle size, meaning that powdered zeolites are limited in what they can do. Liquid zeolite, and in particular Natural Cellular Defence (which I use daily) has a patented extraction and micronization process that is free of toxic material. Due to its small particle size it is able to travel all through the body including the brain, to remove toxic material, for example mercury which has a debilitating effect on the body. After much research, I discovered that Waioras NCD2 is the original brand of liquid zeolite and the only one with scientific studies that can provide evidence to suggest liquid zeolite’s success in treating many illnesses. There are numerous brands of zeolite on the market, but none of these to my knowledge have been properly studied scientifically, and may contain particle sizes far too large to be absorbed into the bloodstream. Zeolite has the ability to do some incredible things, including the removal of heavy metals, which was a main cause of my tumour. It removes radioactive materials from the body including depleted uranium and strontium-90; pesticides; and stops the replication of viruses. Zeolite can also buffer blood sugar, stabilize the immune system and aid in nutrient absorption. As a powerful antioxidant it has the ability to trap free radicals and capture allergens and antigens that trigger allergies. It is a 100% natural and non-toxic product with no known side effects, which has been granted a GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) status from the United States FDA (Food and Drug Administration). Sometimes I still feel bewildered by my experiences with my brain tumour. The fact that one day I had three months to live and now I have the possibility of living a longer

life than perhaps most people my age, due to having a body that is now free of almost all accumulated toxins, speaks testament to the fact that zeolite is a product that works. When taken alongside things like raw vegetable juicing, the health benefits are enormous even for those people without cancer or other illnesses. In fact, Dr Gabriel Cousins study’s with Waiora’s brand of Zeolite Natural Cellular Defence and green juice fasting, resulted in the removal of 88% of all bodily toxins within one week, and those that continued for two weeks had a 100% removal of toxic material. In today’s industrial world we are constantly exposed to toxins. Every day we breathe chemicals in through air conditioning, driving to work we breathe in chemicals from cars on the road, when at work we are surrounded by electromagnetic radiation from computers and printers. Going for a swim in the pool we are exposed to chlorine and when we get home and microwave our dinners we are exposing ourselves to numerous toxins in the once healthy food. Everywhere we are surrounded by toxins. With the use of products like liquid zeolite we can counteract the negative impacts that these toxins have on our bodies: Including brain tumours. My story is one of many that have been told in recent years about the success of alternative cancer treatments. Unfortunately the ability of zeolite to treat cancer and other conditions will no doubt be criticized by the pharmaceutical “science” and “medical” industries, who stand to lose the most if natural treatments become widely used. And yet I am living proof that the human body can overcome a significant health challenge like cancer with the help of a natural, unobtrusive solution like zeolite. Based on my personal experience of overcoming a life-threatening tumour, I can say with certainty: we need to stop looking so far afield for answers to the cancer epidemic. The answers are already right there in front of us. “With liquid zeolite, we have returned to the basic healing approach for all chronic diseases, which is to free up and activate the vital life force. Liquid zeolite is truly an alchemical gift from the Divine” - G abriel Cousens M.D.

ever before in the modern era has humankind been confronted with a nuclear disaster the likes of Fukushima. Truly, Japan has become the location of the greatest nuclear catastrophe in history, one that has defied countless attempts to resolve it. Although it was once imagined to occur in China on the silver screen, Japan has experienced the actual “China Syndrome” — an apocalyptic nuclear meltdown(s). Once again, Japan is the site of an unparalleled atomic event whose aftermath has no end in sight. Before the nuclear event even took place a vast area around Fukushima was rendered virtually uninhabitable by the 3/11 earthquake, seaquake and resulting tsunami. Here’s an accounting of the destruction to life and property, caused by the natural cataclysm, which has never been reported in the mainstream media (MSM). “A total of 196,559 buildings were destroyed or damaged. Around 27,000 people were killed. More than 460,000 were made homeless and sought refuge in shelters. This included 150,000 in Miyagi Prefecture, 47,000 in Iwate Prefecture and 130,000 in Fukushima Prefecture. In the first three days after the disaster Japan’s Self Defence Forces (the Japanese military) rescued 66,000 people, many of them stranded on hilltops and rooftops and among debris. Because reaching them by land was so difficult many had to wait to be retrieved by helicopter, which could carry only a few people at a time. Thousands of others evacuated their homes due to the crisis at the Fukushima nuclear power plant.” - bit. ly/1ab8nfL The earthquake and subsequent tsunami in March of 2011 not only devastated the northeast coastline of Honshu Island, it also triggered a series of nuclear incidents many of which went completely unreported. Those various incidents seemed to have cascaded within the same window of time in order to guarantee the gravity of the cataclysm that humanity must now face. These events continue to reverberate with awesome consequence up to this very day, as they will into the foreseeable future. It does appear that the message they bear has not yet been heard, or understood, by the civilization which created this ‘nuclear drama’. However, as long as it goes unheeded, the parade of seemingly unsolvable problems will continue to present without relenting. Fukushima is nothing like Chernobyl; it is much, MUCH worse! We’ve all heard by now the many comparisons to the 1986 nuclear disaster at Chernobyl in the Ukraine. While that was an extremely serious nuclear accident, Fukushima is far more serious. Fukushima is not only exceedingly more difficult to manage in real time, it presents current and future remediation challenges that go far beyond Japan’s capacity to address in any meaningful way. What makes Fukushima the most formidable of all nuclear catastrophes? Just like the 2010 BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, Fukushima’s fate directly concerns the contamination of water as it continues to affect a major body of water. Not just any body of water, but the largest on Earth. The world has watched in horror as tons of radioactive water have been dumped off the Honshu coastline only to be conveyed wherever the Pacific decides to

Page 14

of

transport it via both superficial and deep ocean currents. It is this interaction with water which makes this nuclear disaster so unique and problematic. Their only way to cool down the core and rods is with water. The water then has to be stored until the radioactivity can be properly addressed. Except that the volume of cooling water necessary is far exceeding TEPCO’s capacity to effectively deal with it. the Ring of Fire is the most seismically active on the planet. Earthquakes have fractured the landscape of Japan and surrounding undersea topography for decades, perhaps even centuries. The obvious result of sustaining so many 5.0 plus earthquakes is that the geology has been fractured and fissured, cracked and creviced like no place on Earth. When two major tectonic plates collide.

A

scenario is the degree of horizontal fissuring of the land which would provide earthen conduits for the water to move horizontally around the island of Honshu. Even the vertical fracturing can lead to openings and channels which ultimately convey the contaminated water to places far and away from Fukushima, and possibly closer to areas with higher population densities. Just how much contaminated water are we taking about? “400 tons of groundwater flow into the reactor buildings on a daily basis and mixes with the radioactive water. [...] 300 tons of groundwater would still flow into the reactor buildings every day even after TEPCO starts pumping up the water through the wells.” - bit. ly/16YK5XJ That’s a LOT of water. And the practical realities of dealing with such an enormous volume staggers the imagination. Which is precisely why TEPCO is completely ill-

The operation, to remove 400 tons of highly irradiated spent fuel beneath the plant’s damaged Reactor No. 4, could set off a catastrophe greater than any we have ever seen, independent experts warn. “The 2011 Tohoku earthquake struck offshore of Japan, along a subduction zone where two of Earth’s tectonic plates collide. In a subduction zone, one plate slides beneath another into the mantle, the hotter layer beneath the crust. The great plates stick and slip, causing earthquakes. East of Japan, the Pacific plate dives beneath the overriding Eurasian plate. The temblor completely released centuries of built up stress between the two tectonic plates, a recent study found.” - bit.ly/19MTbcM The real conundrum underlying this predicament is that there is no letup in the frequency or severity of earthquakes, both landbased and undersea, which continue to assault the four major islands of Japan. Therefore, the “fractures and fissures” will only get worse which will translate to myriad opportunities for the water table, ground water and other water supplies to become irreversibly contaminated with radioactivity. In light of the fractured geology in and around Fukushima, the vectors of radioactive water dissemination are numerous and profoundly difficult to control. When groundwater is contaminated, it will undoubtedly contaminate all the land and other water that it comes into contact with as it makes its journey pulled forward and downward by topography and gravity. The biggest unknown in this ongoing

equipped to handle this and other extraordinary aspects of this disaster. Not only did management never conceive of (or plan for) such a systemic meltdown, TEPCO by its very corporate nature looks to minimize both costs and public relations debacles which might impact it profitability and public perception. Consequently, TEPCO has moved too slowly, and too cautiously on a number of demanding fronts. The only way to fully comprehend the woefully lacking response to this global disaster is to understand the corporate culture of TEPCO. As well as to understand the extraordinarily dysfunctional relationship between the government of Japan and TEPCO. Herein lies the answers to many of the missteps, miscommunications, misunderstandings, and misinformation regarding this unfolding nuclear EMERGENCY.

their 100,000 employees to work two to three times a year at the FNPP(25). This policy is being proposed just as it is learned that deteriorating conditions at the site are causing present workers to quit.” (bit. ly/19TNYxu) Many parallels between the Fukushima meltdown(s) and the Gulf oil spill The Japanese Government, too, bears great responsibility for the extremely inferior response to this nuclear disaster and national catastrophe. They followed the same game plan that the US Government executed during the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The MO was to distance itself from BP et al. and the Gulf PR disaster however possible, and wherever necessary, so as not to be tarred by the political tar balls produced by the spill. Likewise, the Japanese Government has taken the same hands off approach, although often they have (mis)presented a hands on and fully engaged response. Unfortunately, the Japanese culture does not deal with failure very well. Especially failure which reveals so much systemic negligence and irresponsibility. After all, the entire enterprise which constructed 55 nuclear power plants throughout Japan, with 12 additional plants in various stages of development, should never have gotten so far without the proper risk assessments. Even a casual audit of those nuclear energy facilities around Japan has revealed critical problems, any one of which could have been sufficiently serious to suspend further plant construction. In this particular regard the government clearly fell down on the job. Moreover, it can be said that the prevailing political climate in Japan fostered an environment of inaction, denial and apathy. This is the context in which the Fukushima catastrophe has unfolded. And it doesn’t get better, it just seems to get worse. For instance, can you imagine building an ice wall to contain the radioactivity from spreading to the sea and throughout the greater environment? Japan’s Fukushima Ice Wall and Other Crazy Measures to Fight Disasters - ti.me/17JsmAV While such a band-aid may function as a stopgap measure, it underscores just how far into uncharted waters Japan finds itself – without a compass … or a map … or even a helmsman. Because of the incessant leakage of contaminated water, any quick fix may be worth trying. However, when their implementation comes at the expense of addressing the much more urgent matters, perhaps it’s time to admit the inadequacies and request assistance. There are many other examples that demonstrate how out of its depth Japan as a nation is in dealing with Fukushima. And, by the way, the same could be said for any other country faced with such a formidable set of complexities and complications, challenges and obstacles. This research group (CCRG) is fully aware that the gravity and scope of this nuclear catastrophe mandates nothing less than a Global Manhattan Project. We called for such an international initiative in our previous article as follows:

A World In Denial: Underestimating Japan’s Nuclear Disaster

The Pacific Ocean Is Dying: Global “Manhattan Project” Required - bit.ly/ KreuD7

“The nuclear industry and a compliant public have created a fire-breathing monster that cannot be forced back into its cave. Only one year after the accident, it was estimated that 30,000 workers had been exposed to “significant” radiation at the FNPP(24). Tepco is so desperate for workers they now have plans to require

Where else, but the sea, can TEPCO dump the millions of metric tons of contaminated water? Perhaps this question, more than any other, illustrates just how serious this situation really is! Certainly the CCRG does not condone the massive dumping of this

water into the Pacific. However, it must be pointed out that there is no other viable solution at this moment. After two and a half years, the greatest challenges that Japan faces with these reactors are not even close to being met. Dispersion of Fukushima radionuclides in the global atmosphere and the ocean - bit. ly/1aifIfe There ought to be no minimization of the effects of the radionuclides dispersed into the air in the wake of the explosion at the Daiichi plant. The cesium-137 that was released from March 11 has a half life of just over 30 years. This means that it will have long term and profound effects on living organisms depending on their level of exposure. The duration of that exposure will be a major determining factor when assessing the adverse effects on human life. “Its half-life of about 30 years is long enough that objects and regions contaminated by cesium-137 remain dangerous to humans for a generation or more, but it is short enough to ensure that even relatively small quantities of cesium-137 release dangerous doses of radiation (its specific radioactivity is 3.2 × 1012 Bq/g).” stanford.io/1aq2yyx This video portrays a modelling of the potential aerial dispersion of cesium-137 around the globe right after the accidents occurred: Fukushima Daiichi Cs 137 dispersion model from NOAA – YouTube - bit.ly/146XXPW Any questions about the cesium-137 being a dangerous form of radioactive compound are answered at the following link (Cesium: Radiation Protection from the EPA - 1.usa. gov/enc2TJ). It is one of the most common heavy fission products and therefore may prove to be the source of further dissemination of radionuclides from the nuclear plant in Fukushima. Consequently, all visitors to Japan are advised to be aware of the past releases, present risks and future eventualities associated with cesium-137 dispersal both in the air and on the islands. From Hiroshima to Fukushima From a psycho-historical perspective the question must be asked why Japan permitted such a state of affairs to develop. Especially in light of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, it would appear that Japan would be the last place for such a risky nuclear power experiment. The four main islands of Japan are quite obviously the last place for such a dangerous and unstable technology, so why did they do it? Or, rather why did the USA via General Electric sell such inherently flawed nuclear reactors to Japan in the first place. Not that those design flaws would have made any difference after the 9.0 earthquake and 45 foot high tsunami. The real issue is that there must have been either extraordinary inducements or exceptional coercion utilized in the process of foisting nuclear energy upon a nation that already suffered so greatly from two atomic bombs. The following essay further explains some of the unfortunate history which led up to and set up

this ongoing tragedy. An Open Letter to the People of Japan “Quite purposefully, no one ever stopped to consider the obvious and farreaching ramifications of constructing 55 nuclear reactors on the most seismically active piece of property on planet Earth! And, that doesn’t count another 12 reactors in various stages of planning or development.” Of course, where the earthquake and subsequent tsunami were responsible for the destruction of the Honshu coastline, the nuclear meltdown(s) continue to wreak havoc in ways mostly unseen and unknown. Nevertheless, this inscrutable nuclear event has forever altered the landscape and seascape because of the relentless contamination of both seawater and groundwater. Therefore, it is the conveyance of this water which will determine the ultimate consequences of the Fukushima calamity. Where this water ends up and how nature processes the contamination are the big questions. It would seem that the Pacific Ocean is large enough to permit the ‘sequestration’ and/or ‘remediation’ of large concentrations of radioactivity. However, wherever there is life, the contaminated water will forever change (read mutate) those living organisms at the most basic levels of their physical existence. Just how serious is Fukushima? Here are three recent assessments of one of the most pressing and consequential issues facing TEPCO and the Japanese government, and facing the people of Japan and the world community of nations. •

Humankind’s Most Dangerous Moment: Fukushima Fuel Pool at Unit 4. “This is an Issue of Human Survival.”(bit. ly/1ewq9PT)

Yale Professor: Fukushima Unit 4 pool in perilous condition — “All of humanity will be threatened for thousands of years” if not able to be kept cool — Danger of collapse during storm or while attempting removal of fuel rods. (bit.ly/15d58RR)

Fukushima Forever | Charles Perrow (huff.to/1dwWsen)

The following quote has been taken from the previous article entitled “Fukushima Forever”. It sums up exactly the immediate dangers and risks associated with just one aspect of this disaster: “Much more serious is the danger that the spent fuel rod pool at the top of the nuclear plant number four will collapse in a storm or an earthquake, or in a failed attempt to carefully remove each of the 1,535 rods and safely transport them to the common storage pool 50 meters away. Conditions in the unit 4 pool, 100 feet from

the ground, are perilous, and if any two of the rods touch it could cause a nuclear reaction that would be uncontrollable. The radiation emitted from all these rods, if they are not continually cool and kept separate, would require the evacuation of surrounding areas including Tokyo. Because of the radiation at the site the 6,375 rods in the common storage pool could not be continuously cooled; they would fission and all of humanity will be threatened, for thousands of years.” The same article makes mention of the distinct possibility that Tokyo could be evacuated if things were to go wrong with the spent fuel pool on top of #4. That such a possibility even exists indicates that the global community has not taken nuclear crisis seriously. If they were to consider the far-reaching ramifications of such an outcome, as described in the following article, perhaps the collective will and wherewithal would quickly materialize to meet the challenges at hand. As Fukushima Goes, So Goes Japan Fukushima Revisited: “Tokyo has the largest “greater metro” population in the world at about 34.3 million. Tokyo has the largest GDP of all major cities in the world – larger than both New York City and London. Tokyo is the economic/financial capital of the world’s 3rd largest national economy, as well as the primary economic engine of East Asia.” - bit.ly/wxoCuz Conclusion How many times have we asked: “Does anyone in their right mind believe that nuclear power plants can ever be designed, engineered or constructed to withstand 9.0 earthquakes followed by 15 meter high tsunamis? Sorry if we offend, but such a display of so deadly a combination of ignorance and arrogance must represent the very height of hubris. Particularly in view of the inevitable consequences which have manifested at Fukushima, how is it that so few saw this pre-ordained and disastrous outcome, except by willful blindness?” - bit.ly/KreuD7 The preceding question has yet to be answered by the nuclear power generation industry. Fukushima has no doubt presented itself with so much urgency and formidability in order that the entire planetary civilization will come to grips with this fatally flawed energy paradigm. The questions it poses concern existential necessities. That’s why there is no wiggle room. It just won’t get better, and only seems to get worse, and more daunting. Just as the BP Gulf oil spill revealed so much destruction to the global habitat occurring undersea 24/4, Fukushima has unveiled so much of what goes on round-theclock within the realm of nuclear energy. The ‘accident’, meltdown(s), and subsequent litany of mini-disasters have have all revealed one

critical factoid. “There is now general agreement that the state of the art of nuclear power generation is such that it was deeply flawed and fundamentally dangerous from the very beginning.” - bit.ly/ KGipLN _______________ Author’s Note: We cannot over-emphasize how dire Fukushima has become. There is no indication that the international community views this disaster as a global problem. Clearly, the whole situation has become such a radioactive political football, that everyone is afraid to touch it, much less embrace it. Japan does not have the capacity to address it. They know, and the USA knows it. So does the International Atomic Energy Agency, Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the entire Nuclear Power Industry. Of course, the United Nations and World Health Organization are well aware. Therefore, it appears that the people of the world must make their voices heard. Only a mass movement will compel “the powers that be” to seize the day, while there is still one to seize. The only other explanation for the obvious lack of initiative on the part of the global power structure rests with The Iron Mountain Report (bit.ly/1eKJaeR) ________________ Editor’s Caveat: If nothing else, this essay (and many others like it on the internet) provides ample evidence for the world community to revisit the nuclear energy paradigm. Particularly in light of the irrefutable acceleration of global technospheric breakdown is the nuclear power generation industry obligated to permanently close down many substandard plants around the globe. Technospheric Breakdown: Unstoppable, Ongoing and Ubiquitous - bit.ly/17JV5ol Point of fact: The normal stresses, and 24/7 wear and tear, that atomic energy produces in a nuclear reactor setting have substantially shortened the predicted lifetime of the physical plants. When you overlay many other co-factors such as inferior building materials and parts, and unreliable process and procedures, as well as other unknown variables like global climate change, it is easy (very) to understand how a Perfect Storm can be created at any moment. Being cognizant of the fact that there is infinitely much less room for error in the nuke business, lest the worldwide environment sustain irreparable damage for generations to come, there is only one acceptable response. It is incumbent upon those who are in positions of authority to act … and act now before another coastline becomes the site of another “Fukushima”. Or, another land mass falls victim to another “Chernobyl”. We sincerely hope that we have made ourselves perfectly clear in this regard. After all, the very future of the planet appears to lie in the balance.

ulture consists, in large measure, of commonly shared sets of assumptions and expectations about reality. It is a kind of lens through which we look at the world, one that is implanted in us in infancy and childhood and that is continually readjusted throughout life. According to the curvature and distortion of our lens, some things appear substantive that are actually only phantoms, while other things that are indeed quite solid and real are, to us, invisible. We take this cultural astigmatism for granted in religion and politics. In politics, facts are widely understood to be merely incidental to world-views constructed out of ideological and economic necessity. For example, recently most Americans have been convinced by politicians that crime is the result of too few people being in prisons — this despite the well-known fact that their nation already incarcerates a greater percentage of its citizens than does any other, with no observed effect on the crime rate (unless it is an inverse one). They have likewise become convinced that the poverty of the Third World is due to the sad circumstance that people in certain “backward” countries are “not yet ready for democracy,” are inherently unindustrious, or are overburdened by irrational tradition. Meanwhile nearly everyone (in the U.S., though this is not so much the case elsewhere) studiously ignores the clear fact that the Third World has been — and continues to be — systematically plundered by corporations that routinely use the power of the CIA, the World Bank, and (if necessary) the U.S. military to dominate or destroy indigenous enterprise. While this fact is frequently pointed out by certain “radical” political scientists and by the alternative press, it is rarely mentioned by politicians or by the mainstream media because its widespread acknowledgment would be inimical to the purposes of power. But no one is surprised, because most people believe that this is how politics works — that political worldviews are always shaped more by the self-interest of powerful individuals and groups than by mere facts. Science is supposed to be different. The goal of the founders of Western science was to create a system of inquiry based on evidence, one in which theories would be continually tested, discarded, and replaced according to the impersonal dictates of fact and reason. Science was meant to stand above culture. This was, and is, a laudable ideal. But science’s quest for objectivity has always had to contend with two unalterable obstacles: the fact that scientists themselves are human beings with prejudices, fears, and ambitions; and the fact that the practice of science takes place within a cultural context wherein the economic goals of elites, class power relations, and a host of shared unconscious assumptions cast an unavoidable and mostly invisible influence on the proceedings. Science does not stand above culture; it swims in it. In science, as in religion and politics, there are power bases to protect, careers to maintain, masses to convert, empires to build. And so the history of science is full of examples of dogmas constructed and defended, evidence suppressed or twisted, and alternative theories ignored. Such historical examples as the disbelief of early-19th-century scientists in the existence of meteors, Lord Kelvin’s denunciation of X-rays a hoax, and the unwillingness of 18th-century chemists to abandon the phlogiston theory, make for interesting reading. But we seldom look at contemporary science with the degree of skepticism that such past failings would seem to warrant. Yet when a lengthy series of theoretical presuppositions is necessary to form the concepts which lead to experimental and equipment design in a typical research project, which then yields data that must be processed according to the same theoretical presuppositions in order to make sense, then it should be clear to us that even many of the “observed facts” of modern science are largely hypothetical.

“[Humankind] approaches the unattainable truth through a succession of errors.” - Aldous Huxley, Wordsworth in the Tropics That’s not the impression one gets when reading science articles in news magazines, or when watching television science documentaries, in which we are told repeatedly that scientists now “know” that the Universe began fifteen billion years ago in a Big Bang; that life on this planet evolved first from terrestrial chemical processes and then by way of competition and natural selection; that atoms are made up of tiny charged particles; and so on. Recently it occurred to me that it might be helpful to make a brief reconnoitring of the boundaries of our collective ignorance. My objective here is not to denigrate the achievements of those who have expanded the territory of the known, but merely to call attention to — and honour — the great ocean of the unknown in which our collective knowledge floats.

Physics In a previous issue of MuseLetter [“Don’t Enshrine the New Physics... Just Yet,” Number 19, July 1993], we explored briefly some of the difficulties with quantum and relativity theories. As we noted there, physicists are fond of pointing out the limitations of the “Newtonian paradigm,” in which space is Euclidean, the Universe is (in principle) entirely predictable, and matter is made up of billiard-ball atoms. The quantum and relativity theories of the early twentieth century are often hailed as having liberated the human mind from mechanistic and dualistic assumptions, and as confirming the mystical world-views of Eastern religions. Unfortunately, physicists hardly ever express to the general public their perplexity and inability to reconcile the fundamental contradictions between current theories — though among themselves they occasionally admit that “Physics is now faced with a crisis in which… further changes will have to take place, which will probably be as revolutionary compared to relativity and the quantum theory as these theories are compared to classical physics.” (David Bohm) In light of a statement like this from one of the most eminent scientists of our century, one cannot help but feel a certain bemused skepticism at the attempts of some science popularizers to create a mythic worldview for the masses out of a “new” physics that is already beginning to look a bit tattered and worn around the edges.

Engineering Viktor Schauberger (1885-1958) was an Austrian engineer, inventor, and natural scientist who, through observation and experiment, came to believe that it would be possible to create a life-enhancing system of technology working on principles entirely different from those presently understood. Virtually all of our current technologies are powered by the liberation of energy through the breaking down of complex materials into simpler ones through combustion and explosion, which produce expansion and heat. Schauberger believed that these processes represent only the destructive side of Nature, and that we have ignored Nature’s creative forces — which are characterized by centripetal, hyperbolic, spiral movement, the lowering of temperature, and the creation of new complex forms. He maintained that our technologies should be going with the flow of Nature rather than forcing actions that are contrary to it. Schauberger designed and

by Richard Heinberg

built an “implosion generator” which was said to have attained “negative friction”; he also invented water purification systems, hydroturbines, and (reputedly) anti-gravity vehicles. However, his work was largely ignored during his lifetime. At present, about a half dozen groups worldwide are seeking to develop and implement technologies based on Schauberger’s pioneering ideas.

Astronomy One of the greatest difficulties faced by astronomers is that in most cases they cannot directly probe the objects of their study; rather, they must analyze infinitesimal traces of radiation that have presumably traveled thousands or millions of years to arrive here from stars, galaxies, quasars, and even more exotic objects lying at unimaginable distances. With so little to go on, their analyses of these traces must inevitably incorporate some of the very hypotheses they seek to validate. This can lead to problems. Lying at the foundation of modern cosmology is the observed spectrographic “red shift” of light from distant objects, which has been interpreted to mean that these objects are moving away from us. According to current views, the objects with the greatest red shifts are furthest distant and are receding fastest, which means that the Universe is expanding in every direction. Hence it must have originated in a huge explosion — the famous Big Bang. But not everyone subscribes to this interpretation. H. Arp was formerly listed as one of the top twenty astronomers in the world, until he began cataloging apparently-associated celestial objects with differing red shifts. He began to openly suggest that at least some red shifts are not a measure of recessional velocity and distance. His reputation plummeted. I.E. Segal’s chronometric theory of the cosmos predicts a quadratic rather than a linear relationship between red shift and distance, which would do away with the expanding Universe altogether. Some red-shift measurements do indicate such a quadratic relationship. H. Alfven, a Nobel Prize winner in physics, posits a Universe shaped more by electromagnetic than gravitational forces; his theory rules out the possibility that the Universe could ever have had a diameter less than onetenth its present one. Hence no Big Bang. The upshot of all of this is that we really do not know when or how — or if! — the Universe began; nor do we know what forces are primarily responsible for shaping it; nor do we know for certain how far away distant objects are or whether they are moving toward or away from us. Closer to home, all of the recently popular theories of the Moon’s origin have been discredited, with no new one taking their place; meanwhile, serious questions have been raised about how the Sun generates its energy, where comets come from, why Mars lost its former atmosphere and lakes of water, and whether the “dark matter” between stars and galaxies may contain the seeds of life.

Geology The geological record is formed from layers of rock that geologists liken to pages in a book. Unfortunately, that book is far from complete. In fact, of the ten major geological periods, only five or fewer are represented on two thirds of the

The discovery of a complete 1 rewritten the story of how mo early ancestors in Africa, ac Earth’s land surface. In some places the “periods” occur in the wrong order. And most fossils used for dating rock layers overlap from a few to all ten layers. The result: the “geological column” by which we construct Earth history is largely hypothetical. Most geologists interpret this “column” on the basis of the theory of uniformitarianism, according to which the origin of major land features is to be attributed to mechanisms similar to those we see acting today, with small effects accumulating over vast stretches of time. However, there is growing evidence to suggest that the planet’s surface may have been shaped to a large extent by ancient global cataclysms, some of extraterrestrial origin — that is, by collisions with comets and other interstellar debris. With the dinosaur extinctions now widely attributed to a comet impact, cosmic catastrophism as it applies to the geologic past is on the upsurge. But the idea that similar bombardments could have occurred since the origin of humankind is still officially unthinkable. Geologists believe that the age of rocks can be found by the precise measurement of the radioactive minerals and decay products embedded within them. A similar analysis of a radioactive isotope of carbon is used by archaeologists to tell the age of less-ancient organic materials. Critics of radiometric dating have questioned the assumptions on which these methods rest. (For example, does the radioactive decay rate remain constant despite changes in temperature, cosmic ray influx, and pressure? Evidence suggests that it does not.) Critics also cite instances in which objects of known age, such as freshly-cooled volcanic rocks or just-felled trees, have yielded wildly inaccurate radiometric dates in the thousands or millions of years. But if the radiometric techniques are essentially useless, then how seriously are we to take the interminably repeated assertion that scientists “know” that the Earth is four-and-a-half billion years old? The Earth’s magnetic field is collapsing. At the present rate it will fall to zero in about 1200 years. No one knows why.

Biology The problems in biology are so numerous and basic that it is hard to know where to begin, and

1.8 million-years-old skull has odern man evolved from our ccording to Swiss scientists. we cannot hope to do more than name a few of the most glaring ones. Biology is, of course, the science of life; but biologists are generally averse to telling us just what life is. The strategy that is currently popular is to try to erase the conceptual boundary between life and non-life, though even the simplest living cell has characteristics profoundly different from those of any nonliving entity. The difficulty comes because many scientists assume that biology should be reducible to chemistry and physics; they abhor the idea that living things might possess some fundamental principle not present in non-living matter. And yet all attempts to generate life out of chemicals (that is, to reproduce the processes that must have — according to theory — brought about the beginnings of life on Earth) have fallen far short of their goal. A host of difficulties surround Darwinian and neo-Darwinian theories of evolution. In its essence, the word evolution simply means “directional change over time.” There is little question that evolution in this sense has taken place in the biological world. But what kind of evolution, and what has driven it? The idea that chance genetic mutations could add up constructively seems far fetched, since few if any beneficial mutations have ever been seen to occur in Nature. And then there are structures, like the vertebrate eye, which simply would not have functioned until an entire complex of individual features was in place, though none of these by itself would have conferred any advantage to the organism. Neo-Darwinian theorists treat the idea of natural selection with a kind of religious awe, but critics point out that it is essentially tautological: we say that the fittest survive, but how are we to define “the fittest,” except as “those who survive?” Moreover, natural selection implies fierce, unending competition. Yet, as entomologist P.S. Messenger puts it, “Actual competition is difficult to see in nature.” Nature instead produces unending examples of cooperation. Differing species, and members of the same species, go well out of their way to avoid competition wherever possible. The science of genetics has gone a long way toward explaining how the physical characteristics of organisms are passed along through generations. But genetics is still unable to

“A state of thoroughly conscious ignorance is the prelude to every real advance of knowledge.” - James Clerk Maxwell explain cell differentiation in embryos, the ability of simple organisms to regenerate lost limbs and organs, and the transmission of instinct. The battle of evolutionary biologists with the Bible-based creationists has unfortunately served mostly to harden the ranks of the former against admissions that serious problems such as these exist. Our overwhelming ignorance is masked by sweeping declarations about the creative powers of natural selection, and we are deprived of the insights that might come from an honest assessment of the limits of our knowledge of life’s origin and development. Meanwhile, unorthodox but promising ideas — such as Fred Hoyle’s cosmic evolutionism (the proposal that life was seeded on Earth from comets), Ludwig von Bertalanffy’s theory of living systems, and Rupert Sheldrake’s theory of formative causation — are typically given short shrift.

Anthropology Human origins are no less mysterious than those of other living things. In the past few decades, new techniques — such as the tracing of mutations in mitochondrial DNA — have offered intriguing clues as to the timing of our early ancestors’ significant migrations. But these techniques are not without difficulties. Meanwhile, we humans exhibit a host of biological features and behavioural characteristics shared by none of our primate relatives, and these beg for explanations. Why our bipedal stance, limb proportions, smooth skin, brain size, tendency to perspire, and ability to breathe voluntarily? Why are humans uniquely prone to lower back pain, varicose veins, hemorrhoids, sunburn, acne, dandruff, and swollen adenoids? British science writer Elaine Morgan, in her books The Aquatic Ape: A Theory of Human Evolution, and The Scars of Evolution: What Our Bodies Tell Us About Human Origins, has offered a promising proposal — that during our early evolution we humans passed through a long phase of adaptation to the shallow water of lakes, rivers, and sea coasts. As Morgan points out in her books, the features that separate us from other primates are precisely ones that appear in aquatic mammals such as manatees, dolphins, sea lions, and whales. Lower back pain, varicose veins, and hemorrhoids may derive from our shift from walking in shallow water to walking on land; acne and dandruff from our continuing to secrete fur-waterproofing sebum in an aquatic environment in which we became furless; and swollen adenoids from our descended larynx, characteristic of an aquatic mouth-breather. Morgan’s hypothesis also goes a long way toward explaining the dearth of early human fossil remains. During past Ice Ages the level of the oceans was up to three hundred feet lower than at present. If human beings were shoredwellers, most of their remains were likely buried underwater. Morgan’s proposals are still considered eccentric by the establishment.

Archaeology For decades archaeologists have maintained that the first people to set foot in the Americas crossed a land bridge over the Bering Sea roughly 12,000 years ago. But in several instances human artifacts or remains have turned up in deposits that are much older. While most experts continue

to discount these anomalies, others are quietly beginning to concede that human beings may have been living in the Americas for twenty to fifty thousand years — or longer. According to standard history, Native American cultures evolved in isolation from the rest of the world. For over a century, renegade archaeologists have theorized that the Mayans and Aztecs were influenced by Egyptian, Phoenician, or Chinese explorers. Most such theories perished for lack of incontrovertible evidence. During the past two decades, however, Barry Fell of Harvard, and others, have published descriptions of coins, petroglyphs, and other artifacts that seem to prove that Celts, Basques, Libyans, Arabians, Romans, Egyptians, Hebrews, and Chinese all visited North America at one time or another. The scientific establishment remains unconvinced. In recent years amateur Egyptologist John Anthony West has called attention to the remarkable weathering patterns on the Sphinx on the Giza plateau. Geologists he has consulted are in general agreement that the weathering was caused by water and indicates an age of seven to ten thousand years. Since no other Egyptian monument shows similar weathering (despite similarity of materials), this would seem to indicate that the Sphinx was built in an era long predating the pharaohs. Professional Egyptologists are adamant that the Sphinx is less than five thousand years old and was constructed by the pharaoh Khephren, and ask: If the Sphinx is an artifact of an earlier civilization, where is the corroborating evidence for that civilization’s existence? Good question. But the archaeologists offer no alternative explanation for the Sphinx’s deep water channels.

Psychology Just as biology deals with life by explaining it away, psychology often treats consciousness (the natural object of its study) as an epiphenomenon, or even — in the case of behaviourism — as something to be ignored altogether. Despite some progress in the past decade, we still have no generally accepted theory of consciousness and we still do not know how memories are stored and accessed. Because psychology is forced to exist within the mechanistic framework of the rest of science (excepting quantum physics), most psychologists avoid consideration of “paranormal” phenomena such as precognition, telepathy, clairvoyance, etc, which resist rationalistic explanations. Nevertheless, both anecdotal and experimental evidence for such psychic phenomena persists, albeit in maddeningly elusive forms. These days the idea that the mind can influence the body via the immune system is becoming widely accepted. But extraordinary mind-body phenomena are difficult to understand in terms of known biophysical processes. How is it that, in a single individual with multiple-personality disorder, one personality may suffer from severe food allergies to which another personality is immune? According to conventional views in psychology, higher mental phenomena are supposed to take place in the cerebral cortex, a late evolutionary development. How, then, is one to explain cases of hydrocephalus in which the cortex is only a millimetre or so thick, but the affected individual shows no obvious mental impairment? British Neurologist John Lorber, in

research published during the 1980s, cited the case of a Sheffield University student with an IQ of 126 who had virtually no brain. What does this do to our beliefs about the relationship between the brain and consciousness? The notion that human consciousness is affected by geomagnetic fields is still at the fringe of scientific acceptability. Two surveys (Stevenson, 1970; and Braud and Dennis, 1989) suggest that paranormal experiences coincide with days of minimal geomagnetic activity; another (Raps, Avi, et al., 1992) shows a high correlation between solar activity (which seems to influence the geomagnetic field) and the outbreak of psychiatric illnesses. Given that the Earth’s magnetic field is diminishing, should we prepare ourselves for the widespread occurrence of psychic — and psychiatric — phenomena?

Conclusions Readers already familiar with the study of scientific anomalies will know that we have hardly scratched the surface. In virtually every field, widely-accepted views are plagued by internal contradictions; and in many cases these problems are hardly peripheral, but pertain to bedrock issues. Moreover, they tend to compound one another: a scientist in one discipline (such as astronomy), in order to clear up a problem, will often rely on “facts” from another discipline (such as physics), believing that the conclusions he reaches thereby are solidly supported — when in reality they may be resting upon the flimsiest of foundations. This process snowballs from discipline to discipline, specialist relying upon specialist. When one begins to see the same pattern of anomaly, dogma, and denial in one field after another, the overall picture one gets is of a scientific world-view that is virtually a house of cards. We have created a system of knowledge consisting of millions of observed facts arranged in such a way as to give an essentially false view of the nature of reality. My point is not that science has made no valuable contributions — it has! — but that we always need to see those contributions in context and to appreciate their limitations and the tradeoffs we have made for their sake. The legendary Lao Tze reputedly wrote, “To know how little one knows is to have genuine knowledge.” Ironically, we in the industrialized world — who pride ourselves on living in an “information society” — are perhaps further from having genuine knowledge than were people in most “primitive” cultures throughout history. The only sane course of action in this circumstance would be to take an attitude of extreme skepticism with regard to all scientific explanations, admit our ignorance, and adopt a stance of great caution with regard to actions we might take with respect to Nature and society based on scientific theories. Our technological transformation of Nature and our destruction of traditional cultures during the past five centuries have rested upon three pillars — economic greed, religious zealotry, and scientific hubris. It could be argued that each is a twisted manifestation of (or substitute for) a healthy human drive. Our task in creating a new, life-affirming culture must be to carefully remove all three of these props and to replace them with a single sound taproot reaching deep into the heart of the soil and the soul. _________________ Richard Heinberg is the author of Memories and Visions of Paradise: Exploring the Universal Myth of a Lost Golden Age (Quest Books: 1995), Celebrate the Solstice: Honoring the Earth’s Seasonal Rhythms Through Festival and Ceremony (Quest Books: 1994), and A New Covenant With Nature. GMO's Now in Beer

I

have to confess, I’m not a beer drinker, but there’s someone in my household that loves it, so I had to figure out the truth. Is beer really healthy? Why are the ingredients not listed on the label? Which brands can we trust? Which brands are trying to slowly poison us with cheap and harmful ingredients? All of these questions were going through my head at once at lightning speed. So a year ago, I started to research what was really in beer and after questioning several beer companies, reading books about food science, and talking to experts, the information I discovered was downright shocking. I see it all the time. Someone who eats organic, makes the right choices at the grocery store, is fit and lives an extraordinarily healthy lifestyle but then drinks beer like it is going out of style.

The Department of Treasury – the same folks who collect your taxes – oversees alcoholic beverages. That probably explains why we know more about what’s in a can of Coke than a can of Bud. You can also thank the alcohol industry, which has lobbied for years against efforts to require ingredient labelling.” I figured if the beer companies aren’t required to tell us the exact list of ingredients, I needed to investigate this for myself and asked them the pointed questions until I got the truth. First of all, I was able to obtain a baseline list of “legal” additives allowed in beer from the book “Chemicals Additives in Beer” by the Center of Science and Public Interest. This list allowed me to ask specific questions about each beer I investigated. For example – beer sold here in America can contain several of the following ingredients:

Caring about what You Eat Doesn’t Necessarily Translate into Caring about what Y ou D rink and this is a H uge M istake Before we get into what exactly is in beer that you should be aware about, let’s talk about how a body reacts to alcohol in general. Alcohol is metabolized by the body differently than all other calories you consume. Alcohol is one of the only substances that you consume that can permeate your digestive system and go straight into your bloodstream. It bypasses normal digestion and is absorbed into the body intact, where it goes straight into the liver. Your liver is your main fat-burning organ. If you are trying to lose weight or even maintain your ideal weight, drinking alcohol is one of your worst enemies. The liver is going to metabolize alcohol first vs. the fat you want to get rid of – making weight loss even harder. Additionally, one of the primary functions of the liver is to remove environmental toxins from your body – if it is overtaxed with alcohol, the normal removal of these toxins becomes extremely diminished and can result in rapid aging, loss of libido, and other diseases. The one thing that has gotten me before and I’m sure many of you – is the health marketing claims on alcohol products making drinking them seem like a good idea and an added “benefit” to your health. The low alcohol content of beer makes it appear as an innocuous beverage and something people throw back without even thinking about it. Who hasn’t seen those studies that say a beer a day is great for you? And who ever stops at just one beer? So, inherently, alcohol by itself is not a healthy person’s best friend – but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Beer, especially American beer, is made with all sorts of ingredients beyond the basic hops, malt and yeast. There are numerous other ingredients used to clarify, stabilize, preserve, enhance the colour and flavour of beer. When you drink beer, there is almost a 100% chance that you don’t know what you are drinking (unless you quizzed the beer companies like I did). The ingredients in beer are not required by law to be listed anywhere on the label and manufacturers have no legal obligation to disclose the ingredients. For regular beer, calorie levels and percentage of alcohol are optional and for light beer calories are mandatory but alcohol levels are optional. Michele Simon, a public health lawyer, author of Appetite for Profit, and president of Eat Drink Politics told me the reason that beer companies don’t disclose ingredients is simple... they don’t have to: “Ingredient labelling on food products and non-alcoholic beverages is required by the Food and Drug Administration. But a whole other federal agency regulates beer, and not very well.

bones), and casein (found in milk) •

Foam Control: Used for head retention; (glyceryl monostearate and pepsin are both potentially derived from animals)

BPA (Bisphenol A is a component in many can liners and it may leach into the beer. BPA can mimic the female hormone estrogen and may affect sperm count, and other organ functions.)

Carrageenan (linked to inflammation in digestive system, IBS and considered a carcinogen in some circumstances)

During my investigation, I couldn’t get a single mainstream beer company to share the full list of ingredients contained in their beer. But I did get some of them to fess up to the use of these ingredients in writing so I’m going to share this information with you now.

bodied flavour” and “Corn syrups may be derived from a mixture of corn (conventional and biotech.)”, admitting their use of GMOs. Pabst Blue Ribbon responded saying their corn syrup was “special” and “made of carbohydrates and some simple sugars like dextrose and maltose. The sugars are fermented into alcohol and CO2, and the carbohydrates, both from the corn syrup and the malt, remain in the beers as flavour, colour and body components.” Dextrose and maltose can come from a variety of substances that are sweet, but likely are derived from GMO corn because it is super cheap for a company to use corn instead of fruit or other non-GMO sources. With cheap beer – you are not just getting a cheap buzz, you are getting the worst of the worst. Just like with cheap fast food – if you don’t invest in your beer – you will be drinking a lower quality product like Pabst Blue Ribbon that is made from GMO Corn and Corn Syrup. In 2007, Greenpeace found unapproved and experimental GMO Rice strain in AnheuserBusch (Budweiser, Bud Light) beer. AnheuserBusch responded saying their US-grown longgrained rice “may have micro levels” of a genetically engineered protein called Liberty Link, but added that the protein is “substantially removed or destroyed” during the brewing of beer sold domestically. Don’t you think it’s hard to trust any beer company that gets caught using experimental food made in a laboratory? GMOs have not been tested long term on human beings and one of the main pesticides (Roundup) they spray on GMO crops are linked to inflammation, cancer and other diseases.

High Fructose Corn Syrup & Fish Bladders

Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) – alcohol is already addictive with some people, but with MSG?! Holy smokes.

Propylene Glycol (an ingredient found in anti-freeze)

Calcium Disodium EDTA (made from formaldehyde, sodium cayanide, and Ethylenediamine)

Many different types of sulphites and anti-microbial preservatives (linked to allergies and asthma)

Natural Flavours (can come from anything natural including a beaver’s anal gland!)

High Fructose Corn Syrup

GMO Sugars – Dextrose, Corn Syrup

Caramel Colouring (Class III or IV made from ammonia and classified as a carcinogen)

FD&C Blue 1 (Made from petroleum, linked to allergies, asthma and hyperactivity)

FD&C Red 40 (Made from petroleum, linked to allergies, asthma and hyperactivity)

FD&C Yellow 5 (Made from petroleum, linked to allergies, asthma and hyperactivity)

Insect-Based Dyes: carmine derived from cochineal insects to colour their beer.

Animal Based Clarifiers: Findings include isinglass (dried fish bladder), gelatin (from skin, connective tissue, and

Carcinogenic Caramel Coloring CarcNewcastle, a UK brand, confessed to using what I would consider one of the most controversial food additives. Toasted barley is usually what gives beer its golden or deep brown colour, however in this case, Newcastle beer is also coloured artificially with caramel colour. This caramel colouring is manufactured by heating ammonia and sulphites under high pressure, which creates carcinogenic compounds. If beer companies were required by law to list the ingredients, Newcastle would likely have to have a cancer warning label under California law because it is a carcinogen proven to cause liver tumours, lung tumours, and thyroid tumours in rats and mice.

Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) Many of the beers I questioned contained one or more possible GMO ingredients. •

High Fructose Corn Syrup (Guinness – unable to provide an affidavit for nonGMO proof)

Corn syrup (Miller Light, Coors, Corona, Fosters, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Red Stripe)

Dextrose (Budweiser, Bud Light, Busch Light, Michelob Ultra)

Corn (Red Stripe, Miller Coors Brand, Anheuser-Busch Brands)

Most beers brewed commercially are made with more GMO corn than barley. Many of the companies I contacted dodged the GMO question – however Miller Coors had a very forthcoming and honest response. They stated “Corn syrup gives beer a milder and lighter-

Speaking of trusting companies, let’s get one thing straight, Guinness beer is no longer owned by the Irish, they are now owned by a large beer conglomerate called Diageo and manufactured in over 50 different countries. No matter how many St. Patty’s Day celebrations you’ve had with this dark stout, it’s time to stop because they use high fructose corn syrup in their beer. But, Guinness beer also contains isinglass, a gelatin-like substance produced from the swim bladder of a fish. This ingredient helps remove any “haziness,” solids, or yeast byproducts from the beer. Mmmmm… fish bladder sounds delicious, doesn’t? The sneaky thing this beer company does like many of the companies mentioned here today is create an illusion of using the best ingredients when in actuality what they tell you publicly on their websites is a complete farce. On Guinness FAQ’s – they have a question that states: “What are the key ingredients in Guinness” and the answer doesn’t reveal the whole picture – it only states “Our key ingredients – other than inspiration – are roasted, malted barley, hops, yeast and water.” What BS, right? You have to call, email, question and know the right things to ask to even have a chance at getting the truth. This is insanity.

So What Beers are Additive and GMO F ree ? If you enjoy the occasional beer and wish to maintain your healthy lifestyle, choosing one without GMOs and additives is ideal. Unfortunately, most of the mainstream beers available have additives, but luckily, there are a few that don’t. For example, Sierra Nevada, Heineken, and Amstel Light reached out to me personally and I met with a head brew master and have viewed affidavits from the company and confirmed Heinken and Amstel Light do not contain GMOs. They appear to be pretty clean (but these

ince I’ve been investigating, researching, and writing about what manipulators and controllers have been doing to the population, it may SEEM as if I’m saying you and I and everybody else are victims. You could read it that way if you were predisposed to doing so. But you would be wrong. Becoming more deeply aware of what the Matrix is and what it entails is highly important. But it’s really only important if the individual already has a strong foundation of responsibility. I’m talking about making up your own mind about your own life and your own profound objectives and your own deep desires. And acting on that. And taking responsibility for all this in a very natural and final way. What ideas do you buy? What ideas do you reject? What will you create for the next 50 years? Your decision. Your choice. Your action. We all fall into the victim trap now and then. The question is, do we dig ourselves out of it? Or do we wallow in it? Freedom is such a basic thing because, in that space, you make your own most important decisions privately and finally, and you alone take the consequences. You, I, everybody. That’s not a theory. It’s the way it is. In a sense, it’s proof that freedom exists. Now, when a nation or a world sinks to the point where so many individuals are so unaware of what’s happening around them, what decisions are being made on their behalf, it looks like we’re all victims forever. It looks

like we never had a choice about anything important. We’re all slaves and we have no power. And this is where a lot of people stop and settle on a picture of what reality is. And that picture is: THE CONTROLLERS ARE DOING BAD THINGS TO ME AND I CAN’T STOP IT. I HAVE NO WAY OUT. AND WITH THAT PICTURE IN PLACE, the individual will embark on a project of finding the worst thing that’s being done to him, the thing he couldn’t possibly fix, and he’ll say: “You see? That’s proof! That shows I’m helpless. We’re all helpless.” So be it. If that’s where a person wants to stop and make his home and set up shop, that’s his choice. But that’s not just a choice about chemtrails or radiation from Japan or war or the global bankers, that’s his BASIC choice. That’s what it becomes: his basic choice about his own life and his own power. As in: he doesn’t have any. He doesn’t have any choice and he doesn’t have any power and he doesn’t have any imagination he could use to make his life far, far different. That’s a hell of a conclusion. But so be it. Of course, our esteemed leaders try to cultivate and create more victims, because more victims are the building blocks of the world they want to make. But that’s not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about the space of freedom, within which an INDIVIDUAL DECIDES TO PLAY A HOLE CARD AND BLAME SOMEBODY ELSE FOR HIS OWN CHOICES AND HIS OWN FAILURES AND HIS OWN INACTION. You see, when it comes right down to it, that’s his version of power. That’s his best version of power. And if he wants to fight that war and lose and destroy himself, that’s his

“Nobody trips over mountains. It is the small pebble that causes you to stumble. Pass all the pebbles in your path and you will find you have crossed the mountain.” - Anonymous companies still wouldn’t disclose the full list of ingredients to me. They did say they use non-GMO grains, no artificial ingredients, stabilizers or preservatives). German Beers are also a good bet. The Germans are very serious about the purity of their beers and enacted a purity law called “Reinheitsgebot” that requires all German beers to be only produced with a core ingredient list of water, hops, yeast, malted barley or wheat. Advocates of German beers insist that they taste cleaner and some even claim they don’t suffer from hangovers as a result. An obvious choice to consider is also Certified Organic Beers. They are required by law to not include GMOs and other harmful additives. Organic beers also support environmental friendly practices and reduce the amount of pesticides and toxins in our air, support organic farmers – which is a huge plus. Craft & Microbrews Beers – For certain local craft and micro beers, you can ask those companies for a list of ingredients and many of them will be up front with you. However, companies like Miller Coors are slowly closing in on craft beers and buying them up one by one… like they did when they created the unique popular variety called Blue Moon (the beer you drink with an orange) and AnhesuerBusch did this with Rolling Rock and Goose Island Brewery. Make sure your favourite craft and microbrew is still independently owned and controlled before taking a sip. In the end – if you decide to drink beer, you are definitely drinking at your own risk for more reasons than just the crazy ingredients that could be in them. The key point to remember is – if you

choice. And it turns out there is nothing you or I can do about it, even if we wanted to do something. And this victim situation I’m describing? You can find it in the street thug, you can find it in academia, you can find it all the way up to the boardrooms of the most powerful corporations on Earth. That’s right. Let’s sweep out the room. Let’s clear out the confusion. No one exits the Matrix thinking he’s a victim. Doesn’t happen. The premise that ANYONE is the kind of authority who can tell you what to do is based on a lie. The lie of your submission and surrender, which is followed by regret. For the person who is strong, being deceived by an authority through misjudgment is a vital lesson. It shows you what fascism is really all about, on whatever stage it is played out. You learn. You see. You react. You bought the con. You were drawn in one step at a time. You paid the price. You took the bait. You didn’t notice the strings being pulled. It’s a joke. In fact, it’s a cosmic joke, because if you look at human history, you see all the ways authorities of one kind or another have been propped up and sold. Political authorities, religious authorities, money authorities, business authorities, psychological authorities, aesthetic authorities, personal authorities, cultural authorities, “universal” authorities, the authority of the one space and one time and one energy and one continuum. All packaged and sold and delivered. It was all invented through somebody else’s imagination, and we bought that imagination instead of finding our own. IT’S YOUR OWN IMAGINATION

THAT’S IMPORTANT, THAT’S THE KEY. AND YOU HAVE TO ACCESS IT AND USE IT AND DECIDE WHAT TO DO WITH IT. The victim ALWAYS buys somebody else’s imagination. He keeps buying and buying until he’s broke, and then he wants to blame somebody for his own habit, his own addiction. When you offload enough of other people’s imagination and find enough of your own, you discover that reality can be far, far, far, far different than you supposed. There is actually no limit on what imagination can create and bring into being. With work. It takes strength to go on that road. It’s not a little party with doilies and ribbons and balloons and cartoons. It’s certainly not a party where somebody cries and gets mad because the cake fell apart and somebody else has to be blamed. If you think what I’m doing here is ULTIMATELY about BLAMING the shapers of this fake consensus Reality, stop. That isn’t it. I’m talking to intelligent strong individuals who want both knowledge and power. Power that comes from living an intense creative life, a life of imagining and inventing new unprecedented realities. ON THEIR OWN. Period. Do I care what Rockefeller and global bankers and CFR and Trilateralists and Bilderberg and the Vatican and megacorporations and governments and intelligence agencies and fake scientists and fake media are all doing? OF COURSE I CARE. But that’s step one. That’s something that is a prelude to the INDIVIDUAL AND HIS POWER, HIS IMAGINATION, HIS INFINITE CREATIONS. Into the Matrix, OUT of the Matrix. ONLY THE INDIVIDUAL EXITS THE MATRIX.

How to Stop Complaining by Steve Pavlina StevePavlina.com

P

erhaps the most important step in quitting the habit of complaining is to disconnect the undesirable behaviour from your identity. A common mistake chronic complainers make is to self-identify with the negative thoughts running through their minds. Such a person might admit, “I know I’m responsible for my thoughts, but I don’t know how to stop myself from thinking negatively so often.” That seems like a step in the right direction, and to a certain degree it is, but it’s also a trap. It’s good to take responsibility for your thoughts, but you don’t want to identify with those thoughts to the point you end up blaming yourself and feeling even worse.

A better statement might be, “I recognize these negative thoughts going through my mind. But those thoughts are not me. As I raise my awareness, I can replace those thoughts with positive alternatives.” You have the power to recondition your thoughts, but the trick is to keep your consciousness out of the quagmire of blame. Realize that while these thoughts are flowing through your mind, they are not you. You are the conscious conduit through which they flow.

Mental Conditioning Although your thoughts are not you, if you repeat the same thoughts over and over again, they will condition your mind to a large extent. It’s almost accurate to say that we become our dominant thoughts, but I think that’s taking it a bit too far.

Consider how the foods you eat condition your body. You aren’t really going to become the next meal you eat, but that meal is going to influence your physiology, and if you keep eating the same meals over and over, they’ll have a major impact on your body over time. Your body will crave and expect those same foods. However, your body remains separate and distinct from the foods you eat, and you’re still free to change what you eat, which will gradually recondition your physiology in accordance with the new inputs. This is why negative thinking is so addictive. If you keep holding negative thoughts, you condition your mind to expect and even crave those continued inputs. Your neurons will even learn to predict the reoccurrence of negative stimuli. You’ll practically become a negativity magnet.

The trap of negative thinking This is a tough situation to escape because it’s self-perpetuating, as anyone stuck in negative thinking knows all too well. Your negative experiences feed your negative expectations, which then attract new negative experiences. In truth most people who enter this pattern never escape it in their entire lives. It’s just that difficult to escape. Even as they rail against their own negativity, they unknowingly perpetuate it by continuing to identify with it. If you beat yourself up for being too negative, you’re simply reinforcing the pattern, not breaking out of it. I think most people who are stuck in this trap will remain stuck until they experience an elevation in their consciousness. They have to recognize that they’re trapped and that continuing to fight their own negativity while still identifying with it is a battle that can never be won. Think about it. If beating yourself up for being too whiny was going to work, wouldn’t it have worked a long time ago? Are you any closer to a solution for all the effort you’ve invested in this plan of attack? Consequently, the solution I like best is to stop fighting and surrender. Instead of resisting the negativity head-on, acknowledge and accept its presence. This will actually have the effect of raising your consciousness.

If you need a few more lifetimes to work through your negativity, you’re free to take your time. Conscious creation is a big responsibility, and maybe you don’t feel ready for it yet. So until then you’re going to perpetuate the pattern of negative thinking to keep yourself away from that realization. You must admit that the idea of being the primary creator of everything in your current reality is a bit daunting. What are you going to make of your life? What if you screw up? What if you make a big mess of everything? What if you try your best and fail? Those selfdoubts will keep you in a pattern of negativity as a way of avoiding that responsibility. Unfortunately, this escapism has consequences. The only way true creators can deny responsibility for their creations is to buy into the illusion that they aren’t really creating any of it. This means you have to turn your own creative energy against yourself. You’re like a god using his powers to become powerless. You use your strength to make yourself weak. The reason you may be stuck in a negative thought pattern right now is that at some point, you chose it. You figured the alternative of accepting full responsibility for everything in your reality would be worse. It’s too much to handle. So you turned your own thoughts against yourself to avoid that awesome responsibility. And you’ll continue to remain in a negative manifestation pattern until you’re ready to start accepting some of that responsibility back onto your plate. Negativity needn’t be a permanent condition. You still have the freedom to choose otherwise. In practice this realization normally happens in layers of unfolding awareness. You begin to accept and embrace more and more responsibility for your life.

Assuming total responsibility You see… the real solution to complaining is responsibility. You must say to the universe (and mean it), “I want to accept more responsibility for everything in my experience.” Here are some examples of what I mean by accepting responsibility: • •

If I’m unhappy, it’s because I’m creating it. If there’s a problem in the world that bothers me, I’m responsible for fixing it. • If someone is in need, I’m responsible for helping them. • If I want something, it’s up to me to achieve Overcoming Negativity it. You can actually learn to embrace the • If I want certain people in my life, I must negative thoughts running through your head attract and invite them to be with me. and thereby transcend them. TED aligns with Monsanto, halting any talks about GMOs, ‘food as medicine’ or natural healing by Mike Adams

A

llow me to be the first to announce that TED is dead. Why? Because the group that organizes so-called “TED talks” has been thoroughly hijacked by corporate junk science and now openly rejects any talks about GMOs, food as medicine, or even the subject of how food can help prevent behavioural disorders in children. All these areas of discussion are now red-flagged from being presented on any TED stage. This is openly admitted by TEDx itself in a little-known letter publicly published on December 7, 2012. (bit.ly/XyWrS2) In that letter, TED says that people who talk about GMOs are engaged in “pseudoscience.” Those who discuss the healing potential of foods are spreading “health hoaxes.” The letter also advises TEDx organizers to, “reject bad science, pseudoscience and health hoaxes,” meaning anyone who talks about GMOs, “food as medicine” or similar topics. The TED organization, incredibly, believes that food cannot be medicine and does not contain medicine. Perhaps someone should educate TED about resveratrol, curcumin, phycocyanins, polyphenols and ten thousand other chemicals created by plants that have medicinal functions in the human body. To deny this is to nearly admit you believe the Earth is flat and that the sun and stars revolve around our planet. It is a sure sign of a feeble mind that cannot grasp the

NaturalNews.com

very simple and readily evident idea that the human body evolved in an environment full of plants with beneficial physiological effects, including many medicinal effects. Maybe someone should remind TED that nearly 25% of all prescription medicines are in some way derived from plants, including statin drugs. Drug companies expend enormous resources searching the world’s botanical treasures for amazing molecules that they can pirate from nature and alter in some way to make them patentable as a drug. Even the World Resources Institute readily admits this, while also reminding us that 80 percent of the world population still relies largely on plantbased medicine. TED apparently thinks 80 percent of the world population is purely delusional, because obviously, as TED insists, real medicine can only come from pharmacological factories spewing out deadly chemicals, right?

TED falls in line with Monsanto: no talks that question GMOs will be allowed It’s a sure sign that you’ve jumped into a circle of dogma when the very act of asking intelligent questions is no longer allowed. Any speakers who might ask questions about genetically engineered foods are strictly forbidden by TED. This makes TED a source of pseudoscience because it censors and silences any dissenting views that don’t align with Monsanto and the Frankenfoods biotech industry. The TEDx letter mentioned above actually claims that anyone who questions the wisdom

of genetically engineering food crops grown in open fields is a quack or a hoaxer. Read the letter yourself. It reads as if it were written by someone with the intellectual capacity of an 8th grader -- someone who is so naive that they still haven’t caught on to the fact that corporations routinely lie to the world by hijacking science to push their agenda of profit and domination. And it makes you wonder just how stupid TED thinks the public really is on the subject of GMOs. Even though 90% of the public believes GMOs should be labeled on foods, TED thinks anyone who dares talk about GMOs is spewing “pseudoscience.” Does TED also think that spraying the world with glyphosate is a boon to mankind? Does TED even know what glyphosate is and how glyphosate causes cancer at concentrations of parts per billion?

journals and critics of Dr. Wakefield who were caught deliberately lying about his research and inventing wildly false claims in order to try to discredit him. They are currently being sued over their false allegations, by the way, and as the facts of this lawsuit come out, Dr. Wakefield will be completely vindicated. For the real evidence that TED doesn’t want you to see on Dr. Wakefield, check out these articles: •

BMJ admits that fraud claim against Dr. Andrew Wakefield has no basis in fact (bit. ly/q65t2h)

Documents emerge proving Dr Andrew Wakefield innocent; BMJ and Brian Deer caught misrepresenting the facts (bit.ly/ htV7k3)

Dr Wakefield demands retraction from BMJ after documents prove innocence from allegations of vaccine autism data fraud (bit.ly/dYPqrc)

TED’s letter filled with false information The TEDx letter attacking “pseudoscience” is, itself, filled with factually false information. The letter says, “Andrew Wakefield’s attempt to link autism and vaccines was exposed as a hoax last year.” That statement is blatantly false. For starters, Dr. Wakefield never conducted any studies whatsoever that linked autism and vaccines. That is a complete fabrication / delusion invented by the intellectually dishonest critics of Dr. Wakefield. TEDx obviously believes that if a lie is repeated often enough among critics of real science, that lie become a “truth.” Secondly, the actual hoax is on the medical

Other areas of investigation banned by TED It turns out that TED isn’t only a proponent of GMOs, vaccines and whatever corporatesponsored status quo science is currently being spouted -- it’s also wholly aligned against a wide range of topics it considers “pseudoscience.” These so-called “pseudoscience” topics include: •

Consciousness, free will and the nonmaterial “mind”

ast Monday I interviewed Raphial Morgado, inventor of the Massive Yet Tiny engine. After two years of silence, he announced on our show that his company, Angel Labs LLC is ready to go into production with their engine design, to retrofit existing vehicles. He made the astonishing assertion that the power-to-size ratio, or energy density of his engine is so high that the engine size needed to retrofit an SUV would be a little larger than an alternator -- tiny in comparison -- even while having essentially the same cubic inch cylinder displacement. The resulting vehicle would have better performance, while achieving the mileage of a Prius. And he is not talking out of some dream state. He has received some four million dollars and built several prototypes and has demonstrated them to thousands of people. In 2006 he won first place in the “Create the Future” contest by NASA-Emhart’s Tech Briefs, competing against the likes of Boeing, Xerox, Caterpillar, Ford, GE, and other industry heavyweights. Inventor, Raphial Morgado, stands between a conventional engine and his engine that has comparable power output. See comparison page on site. interests, CEOs, and others wanting to help out. He may have a few wrinkles to iron out in his business model, but the technology is amazing and well worth the interest it is generating. But if you think that is exciting, wait until you hear what else he has up his sleeve. When you can get the weight and size down so small while keeping the power up, all kinds of possibilities open up that previously were not available. One of those is personal flight capabilities. I was asking him if he saw our feature page about the Terrafugia Transition® flying car. He responded, “That’s not a ‘flying car,’ it is a ‘roadable aircraft’. People have been doing that for fifty years.” He explained that a flying car needs to be able to take off and land vertically, which takes a lot more power. He also explained the “ground effect” that makes it easier to fly helicopter-like craft near the ground because they have something to push against. He said he approached the people at Muller Skycar about his engine that would make their objective much easier to achieve. But they never responded. But he hasn’t let that stop him. During his spare time, as a “hobby”, he works on a jetpack type of application in which a thruster system with his engine and a turbine would be strapped to a person’s back like a backpack and would enable them to go airborne -- and not just for a few seconds, but as long as an hour,

by Sterling D. Allan PESN.com

he predicts. Because of the weight of conventional systems, the longest anyone has been able to stay airborne with a personal flight pack has been around 21 seconds. If you can be airborne for up to an hour between refueling, now you have a practical device that can be used for personal transportation -- like in the Jetsons. “Since earliest times, man has wanted to fly. Now he will be able to,” said Morgado. He says his systems will be comprised of two 3.5-inch diameter engines, one for backup, that would power a counter-rotating turbofan engine. “It would be practical and safe, with redundancy built in.” “Because it is classified as light weight, you don’t need FAA approval, as long as you’re flying under air traffic heights.” “It could happen this year”, Morgado said, though quick to add again that this is a “hobby” project of his, and that his main focus is to be able to retrofit existing vehicle engines with his tiny engine. For that project, he says he’ll need $10 million to build a pilot production facility. The reason the price is so low, relative to other engine manufacturing paradigms, is because of the simplicity of his design. It doesn’t take nearly so much to build. While the technology might be straightforward, one person I talked to wondered about all the bureaucratic hoops he’ll have to jump through -- the licensing,

certifying, safety testing -- which could cost $10 million itself. But Morgado is an inventive optimist, with a lot of talented people offering their input. The odds are good that he will somehow pull this off. Ironically, while he hasn’t yet secured the funding to go into production with his engine, he does have funding to pursue what he calls the “Angel Flight Pack.” But to him, this Segway of the Sky is fun, but would not have the planetary impact that his engine as a retrofit would have. It could profoundly reduce our footprint on the planet, save money on fuel, eliminate our dependence on oil from unfriendly countries and controlling interest -- all while creating around 2-3 million jobs. At least that is what he envisions. And that isn’t all that he has up his sleeve. The military has been one to show some of the greatest interest in Morgado’s technology and has wanted to keep him busy building their systems alone. But he insists on also providing these technologies to the public.

illions of beneficial bacteria, commonly referred to as probiotics, live in the human body. These bacteria are part of what keeps the body in balance in order to maintain overall good health. They reside in the human digestive system, specifically the intestinal tract also referred to as the gut, (as well as in the mouth, on the skin, in the colon, etc), and are integral to gastrointestinal functions. Over recent years, scientists are starting to discover that these microorganisms also play a role in immunological, metabolic, and neurological diseases.

Common Types of Probiotics The best known of the probiotics are the Lactobacilli. There are a number of Lactobacilli species that are especially effective in creating an overall balance of the various microorganisms in the gut: •

Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus is found in naturally fermented foods and is also used by the dairy industry to produce yogurt. Lactobacillus acidophilus is naturallyoccurring in the human gastrointestinal tract. Certain strains are often included in probiotic supplements because they are believed to be able to survive gastrointestinal transit, being resistant to bile, low pH, and digestive enzymes. Other common Lactobacilli species include brevis, casei and sporogenes.

Other common probiotics include: •

Bifidobacteria, which are one of the major genera of probiotics found in the gastrointestinal tract of mammals, including humans. Various species are often used in the food industry.

Streptococci, which are often known for being the main culprit of strep-throat and pink eye, although there are many nonpathogenic species that are part of the human micro-biome. Streptococci are used in the production of Swiss cheese, reducedfat cheese and yogurt.

Bacilli, which are found in soils and in certain fermented foods, as for example kimchi. Certain species of Bacilli, such as Bacillus pumilus, are capable of degrading bisphenol A, commonly known as BPA, which pollutes human bodies due to plastics overuse.

Why are Probiotics Important? Just as billions of beneficial bacteria can live in the body, the gut is also filled with harmful bacteria. The body needs probiotics to counteract these harmful bacteria in order to enable the production of vitamins and enzymes essential for healthy body function and prevent build-up of carcinogenic toxins. Artificial food additives, GMOs in our foods, chlorinated and fluoridated water, and use of antibiotics are all detrimental to healthy gut flora. Considering that many people follow a Western diet high in processed foods, starches and meats, it is easy for their gut to become unbalanced. Scientists believe that lack of balance of good and bad bacteria can lead to cancer, hypertension and many other types of diseases. Furthermore, our bodies are increasingly subjugated to chemicals from pesticides, herbicides and industrialized products such as plastics (containing BPA and BPS). Certain probiotics are able to handle these toxins better than our own detoxification processes.

To read more about why probiotics are important, read: Are Probiotics the New Prozac? (bit.ly/147f6SH)

Natural Sources of Probiotics Probiotics are readily available to you in a variety of natural foods, including the following: Kombucha is an all natural fermented drink that is made of sweetened black tea. It is made using SCOBY – a symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast. Kombucha beverages are full of probiotics and other healthy amino acids. You can purchase kombucha drinks, kombucha SCOBY or a kombucha tea starter kit from various manufacturers. If you plan to make your own kombucha tea, consider that it needs to be fermented to a specific pH of 2.5 to 3.0, or it will not develop the beneficial nutrients or may overburden the stomach. Additionally, Kombuchakamp.com is a great resource for all things kombucha. Yogurt is made by bacterial fermentation of milk. Yogurt can be made from cow milk, goat milk, soy milk, nut milks such as almond milk, and coconut milk. Most commercial dairy yogurts are made with Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus bacteria, and at times other lactobacilli and bifidobacteria are added. To offset the sourness of yogurt, large amounts of sugar and artificial sweeteners are often added to commercial yogurts, therefore look for unsweetened natural yogurt or learn to make your own.

Thieves will become kings, and kings will be the thieves. Rulers will confiscate property and use it badly. They will cease to protect the people.

‘Taking the Risk out of Democracy, Corporate Propaganda versus Freedom and Liberty’ by Alex Carey, sheds some light on the demons in the closet of the United States of America. As Mr. Carey informs us, “The common man…has never been so confused, mystified and baffled; his most intimate conceptions of himself, of his needs, and indeed the very nature of human nature, have been subject to skilled manipulation and construction in the interests of corporate efficiency and profit.” This book tells us that we the American people have been subjected to a 75-year long multi-billion dollar intentional assault on our freedom to think and to choose. “… propaganda techniques have been developed and deployed (in the United States)… to control and deflect the purposes of the domestic electorate in a democratic country in the interests of the privileged segments of that society.”

Alex Carey suggests that we Americans might be the most brain washed country on the planet! One professor in Carey’s book, Professor Harwood Childs, states, “Americans are the most propagandized people of any nation.” I know you are thinking, “Hey! Only the bad guys use propaganda. Only our enemies use propaganda.” And you are right, they do. But as we are now learning, the ‘bad’ guys are sometimes right in our own back yard and we don’t even see them. Who are these ‘geniuses’ that believe they have the right to manipulate our thinking? In the early days of World War I, we the America people – like any intelligent group of human beings – didn’t want to go to war. So we had to be convinced, or coerced, and this was done very effectively by a campaign launched by President Woodrow Wilson, Walter Lippman (an eminent journalist), and Edward Bernays (who just happened to be the nephew of Sigmund Freud). I can always remember the Bernays name because it sounds like that really fattening butter sauce. Lippman and Bernays were brilliant at brainwashing.

An important book worth looking at on propaganda was published in 1997, entitled, ‘Taking the Risk out of Democracy: Corporate Propaganda versus Freedom and Liberty’, by Alex Carey, 1997; University of Illinois Press. While this might not seem exactly metaphysical, my usual area of study, I believe it is very important for us all to understand the mechanics of propaganda and manipulation. Alex Carey’s book is key to learning how Americans have been lied to and manipulated — and thus fits into the predictions from the ancient Sanskrit text the Linga Purana concerning our current Age of Confusion, the Kali Yuga: • •

People will prefer to choose false ideas. Base [low minded] men who have gained a certain amount of learning (without having the virtues necessary for its use) will be esteemed as sages.

Page 24

Today we have far more efficient means of distributing propaganda than ever before. The television, the Internet, and the media in general have made it easy for the masters of ‘spin’ and the public relations firms with their armies of lawyers, lobbyists, and paid-for-scientists to tell us what to think so that we will all be good little consumers. The true religion of the West is consumerism, and we are working night and day to spread that religion to our brothers and sisters around the world. Every man, woman and child on the planet now has a right to shop at a Mall and eat burgers & fries, whether they want to or not. Was that in the Bill of Rights? Oh, yes, of course “the pursuit of happiness” is — having more things! Or as one journalist noted, “When the going gets tough, the tough go shopping?” Contempt for Us…

Independent Thinking

Chapter I: ORGANIZING CHAOS

The Age of Confusion

Propaganda has Become a Profession

In 1927, Harold Lasswell wrote “Propaganda Techniques in World War I” and suggested that, “familiarity with the behavior of the ruling public (meaning those who had so easily succumbed to the propaganda) has bred contempt… as a consequence, despondent democrats turned elitist, no longer trusting intelligent public opinion, and therefore should themselves determine how to make up the public mind, how to bamboozle and seduce in the name of the public good…” As Alex Carey points out, “propaganda has become a profession. The modern world is busy developing a corps of men & women who do nothing but study the ways and means of changing minds or binding minds to their convictions.”

The idea of manipulating public opinion, beliefs, and habitual consumption is very old. Using the fear of death, religions have been duping us for centuries. The Jesuits were experts. We should not be surprised that more recent and intrusive ways have been found to influence and herd the masses. In 1928, Edward L. Bernays (nephew of Sigmund Freud), wrote a small book entitled, ‘PROPAGANDA’, in which he delineates how to organize mass chaos, how propaganda can be used by an elite few to start wars and influence business, politics, literally every aspect of our lives. The book is available online free as a PDF. The final chapter is entitled: The Mechanics of Propaganda. For example: “The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government, which is the true ruling power of our country. “…We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of.” And from an introduction to the published edition: “That propaganda easily seduces even those whom it most horrifies is a paradox that Bernays grasped completely; and it is one that we must try at last to understand, if we want to change the world that Edward Bernays, among others, made for us.” - Mark Crispin Miller, NYC 2004; Ig Publishing edition.

wonderful beauty designed to intimidate and instruct. Think about those big statues of gods, rulers and tyrants.

What is Propaganda? “Propaganda is the management of collective attitudes by the manipulation of significant symbols… Collective attitudes are amenable to many modes of alteration… intimidation… economic coercion… drill. But their arrangement and rearrangement occurs principally under the impetus of significant symbols; and the technique of using significant symbols for this purpose is propaganda.” (Laswell, Bradson, and Janowitz 1953:77680). These significant symbols are the catch phrases by which we human beings can be aroused to anger, to go to war, or merely to consume. Phrases like the American Way, the Free Enterprise System, the American Dream, and the global economy are meant to empower our faith — as opposed to creeping socialism, the red menace, and a national threat. Significant symbols are “symbols with real power over emotional reactions, ideally symbols of the Sacred and the Satanic.” People are polarized by these symbols. They see life in terms of good and bad, black and white, and thus are more easily manipulated. The ‘enemy’ out there may indeed seem evil. But in the solitude of our own hearts, we know that we are all a mix of both. None of us is so clearly saint or sinner. Instead of emotionally polarizing we could have a dialogue, a discussion; and yet, it seems we can be manipulated by propaganda into thinking almost anything.

Bernays is famous for saying, “If we understand the mechanisms and motives of the group mind, it is now possible to control and regiment the masses according to our will without their knowing it.” [from ‘Toxic Sludge is Good for You!’ Common Courage Press]. Bernays called this ‘engineering consent.’ I don’t know about you, but I sure like to spend my weekends thinking about controlling the group mind. What are these weirdos thinking? The reason none of us have known that these things are going on is because none of us is capable of thinking like this! We have better ways to occupy our time. The World War I propaganda campaign of Mr. Lippman and Mr. Bernays “produced within six months so intense an anti-German hysteria as to permanently impress American business (and Adolph Hitler, among others) with the potential of large scale propaganda to control public opinion.” Bernays found a very practical use for his Uncle Sigmund’s science of psychology. “When the war ended, Bernays later wrote, business realized that the general public could now be harnessed to their cause as it had been harnessed to the war, to the national cause.” (Alex Carey). This has been going on in the USA since before most of us were born, and propaganda has been used since the beginning of written history. Before metaphysics, I studied art and art history and I have concluded that much of what we consider to be art is in fact propaganda,

There is nothing in our culture that encourages a person to think independently. Tell your family and friends that you are going off to think, and they will think you are crazy. We in the West have had to access Eastern religions to realize that pursuits like meditation and contemplation are actually fertile uses of our time. We are encouraged to keep busy [deluded!] from the time we can walk until the day we die. Parents now send their babies to pre-schools. What would happen if the human species were free? What would happen if we were not coerced, herded, and manipulated? What if each of us wanted to and had time to think, to become who were are, to cultivate our uniqueness and commune with our Source, the God that lives with-in each and every one of us? What might we become? Is That What ‘They’ are Afraid of? They must be afraid of something to have expended so much energy, money, and time all these years to keep us in such a narrow frame of expression. These bozos who specialize in controlling and brain-washing us can only despise themselves — more than they so obviously despise and distrust us. Next time you spend a few hours absorbing mindless entertainment-and-advertising (they are never separate) designed to make you go out and consume more, more, more — stop for just a minute and think on who you might be. The corporatist elite continues to get away with the lies and the contempt. Isn’t it time that we the people grew out of our adolescent denial and faced our own demons? If we confront our responsibility for our freedom, we might not lose it. __________________ V. Continued from page 5 of the possibility of perfection, nipples and all. As a community and a People we have a tremendous and glorious opportunity to recreate ourselves entirely. Regardless of the sharper details most have a pretty good idea that we’ve been conned, bullied and traumatized since birth to buy into a system that has never had our best interest in mind, only our compliance and obedience. The negative image of our fantastic destiny is fearfully staring at us right in the eye, literally waiting for us to do the ‘wrong thing’ before tearing us limb from limb or putting us in a cage or worse. A mexican standoff of the soul with our everything in jeopardy, and all around us everyone seemingly only out for themselves, or even out to get us. A Kali Yuga monster machine projecting cataclysmic reflections right into a human-near-you and then through us right onto the world’s own Cosmic Theatre of Choice, distorting the natural and free. Colourful drama, but that’s what it feels like to describe what we’ve been going through for so long. Taking up all of our attentions better placed elsewhere could easily be the name of ‘their’ game. It’s enough of a victory over our energies to keep those life-takers feeding and us starving. However, we might then conclude that the opposite or inverse must also hold to be true: that it’s enough of a victory over our own energies to place our attentions upon the very things that those other forces struggle so maniacally to keep us from, and by which we might naturally prosper once, no longer being parasitized upon, our naturally positive, life-giving power is allowed and encouraged to bloom and flower. They keep us apart and offended, frightful and feeling powerless to affect change. They keep us separate and selfish, hypnotized and

drugged. They jerk our sodas and rape our children. And they do it all with our agreement and even make us pay for their ministrations and efforts in enslaving us. Very simply put : We reverse all that jazz and then suddenly we’re free, dancing in endless abundance and Love, creativity and sunshine. And though it’s undeniable that each one of us has to do their own homework, eventually we’ve got to come together in a constructive and creative way to share in generating the exponential and global change our beloved planet, all the children, animals and plants, all the loving folks everywhere are growing towards and dying to get to. We’ve been doing this as best we can for years through our work with The New Agora. That our efforts have to expand to include many more ‘participants’ is as clear as our having to create a self supporting system for us to continue on. Once again this sounds like a metaphor for our present lives on this planet. Granted, one person has the power to go out and affect untold amounts of people with a single, daring and creative act. Individuality is the bomb. Now, imagine what we could all do together. Imagine what we could do together, not lost in a collective, comunitarian nightmare, or any -ism whatsoever, but together as an empowered, enlightened, evolving expression of Life, of change incarnate, complex and diverse, joyfully loving and fiercely free. So, by all means follow your own path wherever that may lead you; and if you feel our interests coincide, perhaps we share some intent or a common vision, send us a quick email with the means of reaching you in return and we’ll see what we can get up to together whereas really getting this party started. In fact, throughout the history of scientific discovery -microbiology, quantum physics, genetics and epigenetics, cosmology and chemistry -- any self-proclaimed scientist who declared “we now know everything and no new questions can be asked” is now seen in retrospect to be a complete fool.

Real science explained to TED

TED is Dead

Continued from page 21 •

“The fusion of science and spirituality” -- as if higher spiritual awareness is somehow not a valid pathway for the discovery of truth.

Nearly all neuroscience.

The placebo effect, something that has been experimentally proven to exist through tens of thousands of clinical trials.

Any and all “healing,” including Reiki or hands-on healing, healing touch, etc.

Yep, according to TED, these are all pure hokum and bunk. There is no placebo effect, they insist, even though it has been experimentally proven to be the strongest acrossthe-board form of medicine available today. The reason they cannot acknowledge the existence of the placebo effect is because it is contingent upon the interaction between the body and the mind. Because TEDx and its cabal of closedminded junk scientists cannot admit to the existence of a non-material mind, they also cannot admit to the existence of the placebo effect even though their own experiments prove its existence beyond any rational doubt. In fact, the placebo effect is so widely documented that in order to discard it, you would have to throw out all randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled studies altogether. Is TED saying that all such studies are bunk because, taken as a whole, they show the placebo effect to be statistically significant in its effectiveness? See, this is how TED destroys its own argument (and credibility). If the placebo effect doesn’t exist, then virtually all modern clinical trials must be deemed invalid, and that means TED doesn’t believe in any real science at all.

TED is a cult of “scientism” Like the Church that once suppressed scientific understanding long before the Age of Reason, TED is now part of the new Cult of Scientism, a dogmatic circle jerk of intellectual bullies who insist the only “science” that’s true is their own selected brand of corporate-sponsored science. All legitimate science is excluded and attacked if it dares question the core beliefs of the Cult of Scientism. Those beliefs include some real whoppers, such as, “Corporate science is the only science that counts,” and, “GMOs are automatically safe, even without long-term testing, because we say they are.” In this cult, there is no room for the simple, scientific act of questioning today’s scientific beliefs. “Bad science,” says TED, is anything that “has failed to convince many mainstream scientists of its truth.” This, of course, is nothing more than “mob science” which isn’t really science at all. If new science were only recognized once all the existing scientists were convinced of its truth, then science would never have advanced. According to TED, then, in 1616, then, the idea that the Earth was spherical would have been considered “bad science.” TED would have agreed with the “Congregation of the Index” which cited holy scripture and decreed the Earth stood still and the Sun and stars revolved around it. Anyone who questioned this belief would have been attacked as a pusher of “pseudoscience” by TED. The idea that invisible, microscopic bacteria spread disease would have been considered “bad science,” too, because before the invention of the microscope, most “scientists” thought the idea of a microbiological world of invisible living organisms was sheer lunacy. When a nowfamous doctor named Semmelweiss suggested that doctors should wash their hands between delivering babies, he was condemned by the “scientific” community and fired from his job. Meanwhile, an alarming number of women giving birth soon died from infections. This would have been completely acceptable to TED, as it was the “science” of the day, and “science” cannot be questioned. (For historical references, see my article entitled, Why Doctors are Idiots: 150 Years of Disastrous Advice on Children’s Health: bit.ly/93FWvn) Einstein’s Theory of Special Relativity would have been considered “bad science,” too. It was such a whacky theory that almost nobody believed it was true (at first).

Page 26

Science is not a static collection of knowledge, it is a process of exploring the nature of reality to discover and embrace new truths that very often displace old truths. Anyone who believes that science is “fixed” and that modern-day scientists have somehow stumbled upon the final answers to everything is nothing short of a complete fool. The great strength of the scientific method is that it is based on the asking of questions, even in the face of selfimportant, delusional “scientists” who have convinced themselves they are the final word on the subject at hand. Through the process of asking questions and being willing to explore unexpected answers, science has made tremendous advances in understanding the material universe (although science has utterly failed to understand the non-material universe). And yet, like any method of exploring the nature of reality, science is fallible. Science has made tremendous, horrifying mistakes such as giving pregnant women thalidomide as a morning sickness drug, or using African Americans for medical experiments in the Tuskegee affair. Science has created weapons of mass destruction and actually dropped them on civilian populations in Japan. Science invented DDT, Agent Orange and countless other toxic chemicals which now threaten the very survival of the human species. See some of these failures of science in my related mini-documentary called “The Dark Side of Science” (bit. ly/1a9odFn) Recently he CDC openly admitted that the era of antibiotics -- brought to you by pharmacological science -- is now coming to an end, and all of humanity is now threatened by superbugs for which chemical treatments are just about to run out. That’s another little gift from the world of scientific pharmacology: deadly superbugs that could become the world’s next deadly plague. You won’t hear TED talks about these subjects, because TED is dead. And by that, I mean TED’s “mind” is utterly and completely closed to the really important ideas that we must discuss, explore and debate as a civilization if we hope to survive this “age of toxicity” that science has unleashed upon us. Instead of being open to “ideas worth spreading,” TED simply declares all ideas it does not agree with as being pseudoscience. That approach requires no thought, no investigation and no real science. That’s why it is also the same approach used by the status quo “scientific” community to push GMOs, mercury-laced vaccines and other deadly toxins on our world.

Why the “Berlin Wall” of closed-minded science will doom humanity to its own destruction In a time when humanity desperately needs revolutionary, progressive ideas to survive its own destruction, TED is stuck in a 1950’s mindset of “better living through chemistry.” TED is like the 16th-century scientist who warns that if we sail our ships too far into the unknown, we will fall off the edge of the ocean and die. Right now, humanity is suffering alarming rates of mysterious diseases such as autism, autoimmune disorders, infertility and cancer. Corporate-driven science has zero answers to these issues. The status quo “scientific” community exists in a total state of denial over the causes of these diseases, even absurdly insisting that injecting children with trace levels of mercury in vaccines is somehow “good” for children, as if mercury were a nutrient. The biodiversity of our natural world is in a state of unprecedented collapse. The Earth biosphere is dying from toxicity, and that toxicity has been unleashed in the name of “science” via genetic pollution (GMOs), agricultural pollution (insecticides such as neonicotinoids), industrial pollution (which harms waterways and oceans), medical pollution (ionizing radiation and chemical medications) and food pollution (toxic heavy metals are now routinely being found in foods). This has all been done in the name of “science.” TED doesn’t want you to hear about any of this. You are a “hoaxer” and a pusher of “pseudoscience” if you believe in any of this, apparently. And by God, don’t you dare suggest that food is your medicine, as Hippocrates wisely stated -- or you will be called a “quack.”

A Path to Freedom:

RED REISHI MUSHrOOm by Eryn Kirkwood Purica.com

T

here may come a time in each person’s life when a profound curiosity arises. This isn’t the same vague wondering that asks why the sky is blue or how the Egyptian pyramids came to be. No, it’s more than that and more personal, too. This is an inquisitiveness that carries with it a soft sort of nagging laced with an element of fear--or what some might call a spark of awareness, or higher consciousness. Often the two coincide. Perhaps you’ve heard this inner voice before. Or maybe for some length of time you have managed to tune it out. But for whatever reason, at this point in your life, at this very moment, you’ve decided to give the query more credence. The question demands, “Is this it? Is this all there is?” For some people, the doubt arrives in a moment of great turbulence: you’ve received a life-altering diagnosis or someone close to you has; you narrowly avoided a serious accident or experienced a “close call.” Maybe a friend dragged you to a controversial film or documentary and something the actor said resonated with you; or on a Friday night you kicked back on the couch, beer in hand, television turned off, with only silence permeating the room and your ‘self’ to keep company. Perhaps you attended a yoga class and something happened there. In those last few minutes of stillness, you were ruffled by an unidentifiable disturbance and left class feeling somehow . . . different. A shift had occurred. That shift is your portal to freedom.

Aw ak ening The why and when of this moment won’t matter so much as how we choose to respond. Do we silence the voice that would inevitably disturb our day-to-day life--our old habits and routines--or do we follow it up with further inquiry? There is little room for growth inside of our comfort zone; it is a place beyond which compliant members of the status quo rarely venture. Keeping up with the Jones’, purchasing the latest gadgets, and assuming that the “facts,” figures, information, and insights presented by the media are nothing but absolute truth is certainly one way of moving through this thing we call life, but not necessarily a fully conscious one. No doubt, certain trials and tribulations induced by the higher mind can be avoided temporarily in this manner. Indeed, for that reason alone, some who have tapped into a greater awareness, briefly, accidentally, or haphazardly, for example, opt out of the self-determination that is required to feed an inquisitive mind. However, many others know, in a way that currently cannot be proven with mainstream, empirical science or knowledge,

that the rewards of taking the road less traveled far exceed the comforts of just getting by. If you find yourself caught in the struggle of choosing between the path of least resistance and that of greatest growth, Red Reishi can help provide the clarity you may need to decide. Support of the immune system; relief from insomnia, anxiety, and stress; support in detoxification; and enhanced memory and concentration are just a few of the benefits of ingesting this medicinal herb. Red Reishi energizes the body, clarifies the mind, and synchronizes the two to bring about an overall state of health, well-being, and balance. It also supports a proper sleep cycle, wherein rejuvenation occurs at night and we awaken refreshed and renewed in the morning. Reishi enables you to let go of tension by encouraging sleep and releasing anxiety. This enables us to access our core Self by moving away from the fight or flight response rooted in the adrenals, driven by adrenaline, and towards the health and vitality of our deepest inner resources.

T h e T ra nsi t i on Taking a step away from the “norm” as defined by cultural, educational, or familial standards is rarely an easy task. You might even find yourself negotiating a fine balance between your old “unknowing” self and the new more inquisitive you. Questioning the meaning of life and challenging our assumptions of what is “real” demands a certain amount of courage and level of awareness that aren’t readily found at the corner cafe or among common conversations. In a society where “thin is in” and staying abreast of Hollywood gossip are of utmost importance, it doesn’t take much to go against the grain. And yet it is happening. These assumptions are being challenged in certain circles. The voice that calmly prods us from the abyss of inner silence has a place among others who are also seeking. Self-doubt and anxiety are normal responses to realizations that can challenge belief systems. It is important to nurture our health, well-being, and overall self-confidence in order to build the strength and determination needed to heed our intuition. We must surround ourselves with positive people of similar affirmations. Open-mindedness and judicious thinking are key. In addition to pure water, fresh air, whole foods, physical exercise, and meditation/mindfulness, there are ways to help ease the transition from comfortable slumber to conscious awareness. Ancient cultures have long touted the benefits of wild Red Reishi--an organic strain of mushroom well reputed for its abundant therapeutic properties. Eastern medical science supports the anti-aging benefits of the fungus as a complement to its pivotal capacity to help

“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.” - Henry David Thoreau heal the damage caused by cardiovascular disease, cancer, chronic fatigue, weak immunity, insomnia, and more--all of which benefit the spiritual seeker. According to Awakening-Soul.org, “Wild reishi mushroom has been called the ‘Herb of Spiritual Potency.’ . . . Sages and emperors sought this herb to confer health, well-being, good fortune, and wisdom.” The association with the esoteric qualities prevalent in spirituality might lead one to erroneously assume we’re talking about “magic mushrooms”--psilocybin, the psychedelic substance most popular in the 1970s that is said to bestow hallucinogenic experiences and a naturally euphoric high. But we aren’t talking about the “funny fungus” here. Wild reishi does not contain the psychotropic tryptamines that had spiritual adept Ram Dass literally tripping over his consciousness research at Harvard. It is psychotropic-free, pure, legal, organic, and widely available at health and natural food stores worldwide. This “mushroom of immortality” has been used for centuries to promote eternal youth and enhanced longevity. Since longevity and spirituality are deeply enmeshed, individuals who sought to extend their lifespan were also considered to be spiritually ‘advanced.’ The two pursuits go hand in hand: the longer you live, the more time you have to meditate, pray, and do other spiritually progressive practices. Scientific studies also show that people who are religious, have a strong faith, hold spiritual beliefs, or practice devotional rituals tend to live not only longer lives, but happier and healthier longer lives. Coincidence? Probably not. Jason Watkin, the ceo of Purica® a Canadian supplier of medicinal mushrooms, says “The magic of Red Reishi is the manifestation or enhancement of one’s own innate health and inner wisdom--a positive glow, or high, that comes from within. The regular consumption of Red Reishi brings a notable boost in selfconfidence and, with it, the courage to follow

the path to inner freedom.” Watkin credits the approach of ancient shamans and traditional medical practitioners who relied on thousands of years of experiential application to ensure the holistic application of Red Reishi. He continues: “Through a process called micronization, our mushrooms are ground to nearly the size of a blood cell, preserving the naturally occurring compounds from the most ideal specimens and significantly improving the herb’s potency. The result is the most bio-available product on the market. It is an all-natural dietary supplement that enhances sleep, calms the mind, and soothes the nervous system.”

M a in te n a n c e Having found the courage to listen to that inner voice, the final challenge is staying the course. In our information-laden society, filled to the brim with ever-new and always-changing technologies, rampant with inventions and revelations, a busy mind is the norm. Good physical health, positive attitude, and a calm and clear state of mind are the foundation upon which spiritual growth can occur. Conviction, dedication, and inspiration are the building blocks of progress. In turn, once we are on the path, spiritual health itself becomes another ‘must have’ in the hierarchy of basic necessities-a measuring stick upon which we will come to determine our level of health, happiness, and fulfillment, regardless of external circumstance. In the midst of awakening to this greater potential, you will know a new state of existence, one that is at peace and content. Old fears and concerns will begin to slip away as you enter a new realm of thinking, a new way of living. Operating from a place of involuntary compassion and ease, you will come to realize what it means to be in the flow of life; free to experience your true and untainted self; free to enjoy the simple experience of being.

Mark Kastel, a former executive for agribusiness, is codirector of the Cornucopia Institute, a farm-policy research group that supports organic foods. The problem: If fall fruits held a “most doused in pesticides contest,” apples would win. Why? They are individually grafted (descended from a single tree) so that each variety maintains its distinctive flavor. As such, apples don’t develop resistance to pests and are sprayed frequently. The industry maintains that these residues are not harmful. But Kastel counters that it’s just common sense to minimize exposure by avoiding the most doused produce, like apples. “Farm workers have higher rates of many cancers,” he says. And increasing numbers of studies are starting to link a higher body burden of pesticides (from all sources) with Parkinson’s disease. The solution: Buy organic apples. Continued from page 26 So thank you, TED, for showing your total insanity, your complete detachment from reality, your abandonment of humanity and your offensive, incestuous relationship with the Monsantos of the world. It is organizations like you, TED, that are destroying humanity by attacking the very people who possess the desperately-needed answers to saving humanity from its own destruction at the hands of closed-minded “science.” TED also aggressively attacks the very idea of consciousness, pretending that humans are nothing more than biological robots with no minds, no spirit, no soul, no consciousness and no free will. This is the position parroted by utterly misinformed “scientists” like Stephen Hawking, whose view of humanity is as dark and pessimistic as any we have ever witnessed. For a full exploration of this issue covering Stephen Hawking’s monumental mistake in failing to recognize the existence of consciousness, see my science documentary called “The God Within.” (bit.ly/Hpw6gh)

Learn the truth about science you’re not supposed to know Unlike today’s corporate-driven scientists, I don’t claim to have all the answers, but where I’m a quantum leap ahead of most modern-day status quo scientists is that I still believe in the scientific method of asking questions. Apparently, this act of asking questions is now utterly disallowed in today’s dogmatic “science” cult. I also have a strong scientific background, which terrifies GMO pushers and pro-vaccine child killers. I have a bachelor of science degree with a minor in mathematics and I’m fluent in the fundamental concepts of microbiology, chemistry, physics, anthropology, genetics, cosmology, nutrition science, environmental science, physiology and many other areas. And what I’ve discovered from observing and writing about science for over a decade is that modern-day scientists suffer from a dangerous epidemic of arrogance that’s actually standing in the way of real scientific advancement. Sir Isaac Newton famously explored all sorts of bizarre ideas -- including delving heavily into the occult -- in his search for answers of how the universe works. If TED had been around in Newton’s days, it would have banned Newton from speaking because his ideas “hadn’t convinced the majority of other scientists” of their merits. Newton’s laws of motion would have been called “quackery” because everybody knows that steel balls fall much faster than feathers, right? It’s obvious, isn’t it? How could they both possibly be accelerated at the same rate by gravity? TED would have banned such a talk. So now, TED has become a re-hash of old, outdated ideas that brought us to these global problems in the first place. TED’s answers to problems are apparently the same as Big Pharma’s answers: more drugs, more vaccines, more chemicals, more corporate patents and more profiteering from human suffering.

Most of the world strongly disagrees with TED

For the record, most of the population of our world agrees with the fundamentals of what I’m saying here. Most of the world disagrees with TED’s minority opinion on science and pseudoscience. Specifically: •

Most of the world believes in the existence of mind and spirit

Most of the world uses medicinal plants, not prescription drugs, as their primary source of medicine

Most of the world agrees food contains medicinal properties and can be used medicinally to prevent disease

Most of the world agrees the mind influences body physiology

Most of the world agrees that GMOs should be questioned, relying on the precautionary principle rather than risking the entire genetic future of global agriculture with an unwise roll of the dice (open-air GMO experiments)

TED’s disagreement with the majority of the world population on these issues puts TED in a desperate minority of monopoly-minded intellectual bullies who cannot win any intelligent discussion on the issues so they resort to censorship, bullying, intimidation and sheer arrogance to try to limit the public discussion of ideas they don’t like. That’s not science. That’s dogma.

Beyond TED - a new forum for leading thinkers Despite its intellectual failings, we must thank TED for exposing itself as a backwards, intellectually-dead circle jerk of corporate-backed poison pushers who offer nothing but suffering and destruction to humanity. Because that creates an opportunity for the rest of us to get together and create our own public forum of truly progressive, groundbreaking ideas that can move humanity forward. What I’m envisioning is a “New Science” forum where we invite Dr. Bruce Lipton, Dr. Rupert Sheldrake, Graham Hancock, Dr. Andrew Wakefield and all the other brilliant people who are no longer welcome at TED conference because their ideas are simply too revolutionary to be stomached by the old school apologists for corporatebacked anti-science. I don’t personally have

time to start such an event this year because, ironically, I’m working in the Natural News Forensic Food Lab and conducting real science in the realm of food investigations, but if someone else doesn’t start a new science speaking event within the next few years, I may take up the task myself. In this event, we would openly welcome talks on consciousness, hands-on healing, neuroscience, environmental science, spirituality, meditation and all the other areas that are too advanced to be tolerated or even understood by the ignorant TED organizers. TED could have been something great by doing precisely this, but instead it chose to silence the truly brilliant minds of our time and force-feed people a total line of corporate-backed bunk that pushes GMOs, brain-dead materialism and synthetic chemicals as the answer to everything. TED is dead. But real science moves forward, with or without the TED bullies who desperately try to stop it.

Promoting Disease

Continued from page 12 there is no single way to treat all children diagnosed with Autism. The diagnosis itself is a misnomer and a deception. The label is a deception. A lie. “Then what’s wrong with my child?” a parent says. “If it isn’t Autism, what is it?” The answer could only come with a truly honest and competent and skillful examination of the child. That unique child. Holding out for one grand solution to a problem that isn’t one general problem is doomed. Many children are waiting for a successful universal treatment that will never come. There are reports that, in some of cases of “Autism,” hyperbaric oxygen has shown good results. But what about cases where the real problem is severe nutritional deficit? It comes down to this: do parents want a solution to what their unique child is really suffering from? If so, then someone has to discover what that is. And then that practitioner has to come up with an answer that truly helps. Calling all children who have similar generalized symptoms “Autistic” doesn’t help. But it does provide an avenue of profit for drug companies. Their paid researchers can announce “breakthroughs” and “partial answers” and come in behind that with new drugs. And then they can even say, “We’ve found the cause,” when they haven’t. They can market a whole raft of drugs that “alleviate the cause.” And make billions of $, while children still suffer. Here’s a real-life illustration. The parents of a young boy are at their wit’s end because he has withdrawn from the world. He can’t communicate. His physical coordination is lacking. He has other problems. The doctor says: Autism. But another doctor, someone who practices medicine but also has human instincts and a genuine desire to go the distance and help that boy, investigates. And he finds several crucial things. The boy, who has never had vaccines, has severe nutritional deficiencies. On top of that, he’s extremely sensitive and reactive to certain artificial

colours and dyes in processed foods. He has bowel problems, debilitating gastrointestinal infections. He almost strangled on the umbilical chord at birth. Suppose the doctor can prepare a comprehensive non-drug program to correct these problems. And after a time, the boy begins to emerge from his isolation. Into the world. Did he have Autism? This is like asking whether the victim of an automobile accident had Broken Bone Syndrome. There is a simplicity at the bottom of all this. When the doctor says, “Your son has VCR$#S,” or some other label, the parent can say, “Do you have a treatment that will correct the situation?” If the answer right now is no, there is no reason to buy the label and walk down the tortuous path the label implies. If later on, the doctor says yes, we definitely do have a cure, then the parent can look at it through a high-power magnifying glass of intelligence and justified skepticism, to find the fine print, and understand what the doctor is really talking about. Is he telling the truth? Is he lying? Does the supposed cure have such dire adverse effects the child is merely trading one set of crises for another? Are the new crises just masking the old ones? Here is the rule: if someone claims that a cluster of symptoms adds up to a disease label for many people with that cluster, but the doctor has in his hands no cause for the cluster, there is no reason to assume the label means anything. Yet still, the parent says, “All right, but the doctor said my son is Autistic. What am I supposed to do?” Yes, and the doctor probably also says Autism is a neurological disorder and much research is underway, and the prospects are looking better… But does the doctor have the cause of Autism? Does he have a treatment that really works? Is the parent in better shape by assuming her boy has “Autism,” whatever that is supposed to mean? Is the boy helped in any way by this? Or is the mother of that child simply assuaged and relieved, because the doctor has put a label on her child who, up to now, was a troubling mystery? I know people are going to write me with alt. solutions for Autism. They are going to assume there is such a thing (across the board) as Autism and it has a single cause, and there is a

brilliant treatment for all of it. To them I would suggest reading this article again and thinking about what it actually means. People are also going to say, “But Autism researchers are making progress. They may not have the single cause yet, but they’re getting closer.” Really? They SAY they’re getting closer. That’s different. What do you expect them to assert? They’re getting farther away? ________________ Jon Rappoport is the author of two explosive collections, The Matrix Revealed and Exit From the Matrix, Jon was a candidate for a US Congressional seat in the 29th District of California. Changing your mind The ancients pointed to higher awareness using many names – enlightenment, moksha, bodhi, kensho, satori, kevala jnana are but a few.

difficulty, where we experience joy and where our mind is clear. But most of us have lost the understanding and appreciation of the true holistic way and we live detached from nature and this greater way of being.

In our modern world, we live so deeply in a limited mindset and it is the source of so many people not being happy, healthy and living a life of ease. In this limited mindset we are consumed with irritation, worry, aggression, and fear – these are habitual unhelpful patterns of conditioned reactivity.

For thousands of years, mushrooms have been used to bring a change in perspective and a change in awareness, and have brought people closer to an understanding of their authentic selves. In this state, we know what is true and real, and happiness, wellness and ease become our norm.

Stress is the name we use for the condition that envelops all the symptoms of the limited mindset. Stress is energy draining and takes us away from our true inspired selves.

Changing the way your mind works is the first step to recovering your true personal power and ease. We call this Changing Your Mind. We invite you to take a small step in the direction of finding the greater you. For one week, try this simple program, and when you’re done, please share with us how you feel (changeyourmind@purica.com)
