HE ONLY DIFFERENCE between a novice and a master is practice. If you can practice something consistently, then in time with patient and focused effort you will definitely reach high levels at whatever it is you are practicing. This is the power of commitment. For those who are just starting out in Tai Chi, doing the movements feels foolish and pointless. You awkwardly move through the foreign postures and you think to yourself, “What is the point of all this? How is this going to help me in life, and what will I gain from this practice?” This is what Tai Chi looks and feels like to someone just beginning. To a master on the other hand, they feel the energy; they deepen their meditation by connecting to the universe; they heal their mind, body, and soul; and as they practice these movements they feel the grace, beauty, and power of the universe flowing through them, radiating from their movements and the postures they form with their body. When learning how to play an instrument, in the beginning you fumble through songs relying on your mind and your eyes to guide you awkwardly to the next note. But as you become more proficient with practice, your fingers know where the notes are and you no longer need your eyes, thus you allow your ears to take over instead. Your mind is no longer engaged; only your attention, and you learn how to play by feeling. You listen to the tune playing within your head, and within your heart, that you are merely allowing to come through you as clearly as possible, letting the universe speak through you with sound. This is the difference between an amateur and a master. The amateur is only at the

Commitment The Power Of

surface of whatever it is that they are doing, but the master has penetrated the essence of the practice, and thus to the essence of the universe, and themselves. The power of commitment is the only thing that can raise you to this level of being, and of mastery. It doesn’t matter what you are practicing or what you are training at. Everything that we do, and everything that we are inspired to do is a method for human beings to tap into themselves, the universe, and their infinite creative potential and ability to express their inner truth. From one level any business can be viewed as nothing more than a way to earn money for material gain. Yet from another level its primary focus can be tapping into one’s innate intelligence to creatively and seamlessly express truth, wisdom, and insight. Thus its material rewards are secondary compared to its function as a tool for personal exploration and expression. This is true for all areas of human endeavor. We can choose to stay at the surface level of our actions just going through the motions. Or we can choose to be truly committed to what we are doing thus using it as a tool for personal mastery and evolution. The power of commitment is exercised by paying attention to what we are doing. To be fully and completely committed to this moment, here and now, doing whatever it is we have chosen to do. If we are not fully committed to our actions and our experience then we act as if we did not choose this moment, and thus we never take responsibility for our thoughts, actions, or lives. This leads us to a reality that we did not choose which is in itself a depressing and hopeless cycle. Apply the power of commitment by actively participating in the flowering of your

life. Become your actions and embody your desires, and be conscious enough to know what your feelings are guiding you towards, and what you are inspired to do. At first our actions seem clumsy, chaotic, and fruitless, but as we gain proficiency at whatever it is we are doing we begin to hone ourselves. We begin to see the magnificence in subtlety and the beauty in simplicity. We learn to refine our strokes, our movements, our phrasing until it is eloquent and harmonious, and powerful in its directness. This refining extends into our lives as well and that is where the true benefit of our practices are realized. Whatever it is you are inspired to, do yourself a favour and stay committed to it. Don’t quit after a week or a month just because you don’t see the point and feel like you’re getting nowhere. If you were inspired to do this thing, and if somewhere within you have a true passion for it, even though you may convince yourself otherwise, develop the power of commitment you possess within you and stay with it a little longer. Jimi Hendrix said this about learning the guitar: “Sometimes you want to give up the guitar, you’ll hate the guitar. But if you stick with it, you’re gonna be rewarded.” If you are genuinely inspired towards a path then don’t allow yourself to quit. It is our limited self that is asking us to quit because that aspect of ourselves does not believe that we are great, that we are talented, and that we can realize our dreams, and thus it is protecting us from getting hurt … in its own way. It is that aspect of ourselves which is unwilling to let go because when it does we will be vulnerable. Yet with that vulnerability our true nature is exposed and we become safe in our openness. Our egos were built up as a defense

mechanism to protect us from the world because we knew no other way to deal with our life circumstances. Yet that came at a great price. We sacrificed our true beauty, individuality, creativity, and power for the sake of a false sense of security found in the rigid definiteness and conformity of the ego. Our true worth is realized not in our moments of ease when we are confident about ourselves and our ability. It is realized when we are faced with difficulty and begin to question ourselves, our dreams, and the validity of what we are doing. If we hold true to our dreams and to our passion in these circumstances, continuing forwards even when our egos tell us to quit because we know that we are being guided along this path by spirit, then growth is assured, for it has already occurred. These situations are our life initiations. Life is about growth and about learning. When we bail on our dreams and passions we do so because we have always quit in similar situations, and thus we have never really transformed ourselves, we have only reinvented the superficial appearance of ourselves and lives. But when we decide to stay committed to our purpose in life and to those things we do which genuinely make us better people, happier, more productive and focused, then we look in the face of our old self and say: “No. I am not like you, for I am not you any longer. I usually quit because I am afraid, but this time I would rather work hard while being afraid with no regrets, than be comfortable and safe yet filled with regrets.” It is entirely up to you. You can continue bouncing from practice to practice, from dream to dream in life, never really getting anywhere and never seeing any real results, or you can choose to commit yourself to the most important thing right now and truly embody it. Only then will you see the results you were seeking, and your true potential made manifest in your sense of mastery, honed and developed through consistent practice. That is the power of commitment, the force that cultivates our conviction and turns our dreams into reality.

HE ATTITUDE THAT is conditioned into our psyche from a young age is that we have to learn a skill and use that to get a job in order to earn money, which in term feeds the growth of the economy. One question I think of almost every day but find many other people don’t give it a second thought is why do we have to work? “Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a car that you are still paying for – in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.” ― Ellen Goodman

Why do we have to work? At face value and viewing life through the brainwashed society we are all born into, the answer may sound rather obvious, we need to earn money to purchase material objects in order to survive. For most that makes sense and needs no further questioning. However, one must ask in a world which fundamentally has enough natural resources to feed clothe and house every single person why there is such a work ethos. We are led to believe that we are running out of resources and the world is overpopulated when, in fact, the reality is completely the reverse. If we were to gather every man, woman and child and moved them to Australia, the whole world population would fit comfortably within the country. Each family having their own house and garden and that would still only fill 3/4 of

Humans: Why Do We Have To Work? the landmass.

What is Scarcity? How is it used? Scarcity is a tool used to create the feeling of not having enough. This creates a survival response and an automatic panic in humans that causes us to be selfish and greedy. We are very much led to believe we are living in times of scarcity by the mainstream media. There is always something we’re running low on: land, oil, energy, money, food and water, to name a few. We witness African and Ethiopian communities starving and dying of disease and we are led to believe this is because there just is not enough food to give them. Not once do people in the west ever stop and think just how much food is wasted on a daily basis. In 2004, a USA study showed that in America alone forty to fifty percent of all food ready for harvest never gets eaten. There is clearly no shortage of food. The richest nations are choosing to let the third world people die while they continue to exploit their resources.

What is wrong with our society? We live in a debt-based monetary system where money is created by banks in the act of just placing digits on a screen. Our governments then take loan money from privately owned central banks that have secret (protected by legislation) shareholders that the public are not even allowed to know about:

www.lifeadvancer.com

with absolutely no oversight. The richest 1% owns nearly half of world’s wealth (probably more – but only in their own minds, so to speak. Ed.), and are also in positions of great power. The 99% of the world’s people are left to scrap over the remainder in order to survive. I also personally believe technology is been suppressed in the energy sector that could end the fossil fuel industry overnight. We spend most of our lives just blindly taking as fact what we are being told by our institutions – education, government, parents and media – without giving it a second thought. In fact, humans have become so docile that we spend most of our days unconscious, engrossed in the latest gadget or celebrity gossip. This is all by design to keep us distracted from anything real going on in the world. We clearly live in a corrupt unjust society that rewards dishonesty and selfishness. There is enough to go around and waste and pollution seems to be the byproduct of an unsustainable growth and greed based ideology. This YouTube video explains the story of your enslavement very well, enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=Xbp6umQT58A

Ok, So Why Do We Have To Work? The fact of the matter is we have to work because we are free-range slaves controlled by people of ‘wealth’ who use

the monetary system and energy sector to control and protect their own selfish interests. The monetary system is also manipulated by the same people using stock markets and banking practices. This is also all by design in order to keep the wealth in the hands of a selected few, mostly banking elite and royal bloodlines. These same people also control all aspects of our lives from education, health, media and food. With this much control over our lives is it any wonder the majority of people feel confused over world issues. The role of the media and institutionalization. Our media is in place to control the mass way of thinking to keep it in line with government policies. Call it propaganda. We are led to believe we have a free press, but this is far from the truth and very obvious when big movements happen like March Against Monsanto and the Occupy Movement (plus so many many more we haven’t heard of. Ed.), and they receive little to no media attention. Even if it does get some attention, it is always portrayed in a negative light. Our newspapers front page headlines are always filled with fear words like “conspiracy”,”terrorism”, “ISIS”, “extremism”, “workshy”, “scroungers,” etc. that are repeated over and over to really embed the words into the human consciousness. If you repeat anything enough times, people start believing it. It is an obvious form of brainwashing and

The Deep Joy Of De-Normalizing By Neil Kramer HE SEASONAL SHIFTING of energetic densities is underway, naturally enfolding the customary provinces of our temporal 3D experience, affecting us with increasing depth as each day passes. The solar wind permeates every particle of our being… cleansing, destroying, resurrecting. The hidden and the untold have reached their terminus. We are now in a phase where ignorance of one’s own inner knowing no longer provides exemption from engaging with dharma – one’s authentic path. There is no place for being unaware of what we know we should be doing. Ignorance of this principle is no defence against contravening it. Ignorantia juris non excusat. The organic light of knowing can almost be unremembered by adorning oneself with the culpable phosphorescence of the construct, that is, its deliciously smooth images, plastics and metals, luxuriously bent into sensual curves that usurp the human form itself. Proximity to media-saturated artifacts channels away the psychic core of the dupes, the marks and all the spaghetti of biological human cabling, until nothing remains but despiritualized zombie corpses. And still, the humans are loved from a distance; though admittedly, this now stretches into light years of disengagement, where the source and the object cannot be spoken of in the same breath. Deliverance is a delicate thing.

T

Bearing The Psychic Cilice It is from the loneliness that arises out of lost innocence, when the human soul has drifted far from meaning, that we first see the abandonment of the magickal. You can see it in people’s faces. They settle for that which they know to be deficient and unfulfilling. The rationale is that some contact is better than no contact. This is particularly prevalent in intimate relationships. When humans are fundamentally disconnected from themselves and each other, they are vulnerable to the insidious gravitational pull of the mainstream cultural paradigm. They get all normal.

At the primary level, those who choose not to be the architect of their own consciousness, and therefore disclaim their own daily existence, are anchoring the density of the construct with every recycled meme that passes their lips and every electro-chemical notion that fires across their frontal lobe. They are hungry ‘Pacman’ ghosts roaming the sepulchral corridors of unreality, forever repeating the same corrosive patterns, unable to satiate themselves on any level. The virus of renunciation consumes its own host. The only way to offset the muted but incessant background pain derived from this way of living, is to embrace normality. To watch TV and resonate along with its frequency of ordinariness and indifference. To consume. To buy fake products, fake food, fake music. To wear cheap clothes and running shoes derived directly from the blood of economic slaves. This is a karmic declaration. And should the inner self spontaneously break through and find its voice amid this toxicity, then with the utmost urgency, the mind must be plunged into the low-resonance, high-density media swamp. When the mind sucks in vulgarity, regression and ignoble deeds, the psychological pain momentarily subsides as the spirit retreats far from the centre of our being. For those who walk the path – normality is fake, it does not exist. For construct dwellers, the roots of normalcy do not emerge from any particular socio-economic class. It is spread equally across all demographic classifications of A, B, C1, C2, D and E social grades (this is the UK mapping). Normals, as we might call them, are in fact characterized largely by their negative aspect, by what they do not do. For example, normals create little or nothing. True innovation, spontaneity, risk taking and courage are barely perceptible in the course of their lives. They demonstrate the appalling trait of obviousness in most thoughts and deeds. They tend not to question the authoritative hierarchies that control their lives. They certainly prefer not to discuss matters of substance. Contemplations on the mysterious nature of existence within the astonishing elegance of the universe is unthinkable. They’re just not

into any of that stuff. It’s not perceived as a worthwhile or rewarding activity, as it does not advantage them within the mainstream paradigm. What is to be had from being contemplative or philosophical? There is no commercial value and such things bring only existential unrest. So they avoid it. Disown it. Replace it. Fear it. Whatever. Watch television.

This Is The Happy House, We’re Happy Here People generally want to feel happiness in their day-to-day lives. Yet what is this elusive state that arises and vanishes with such apparent capriciousness? It is a simple thing. Happiness is a frequency attached to dharmic function. It arises when spirit is aligned – when there is authentic being, gnosis, true creative expression and expansion of awareness. It is the spontaneous acknowledgement of conscious presence. I am here and everything is OK. That is the open gladness that dissolves all illusory negativity in an instant. It is free and is not dependent on anyone or anything. It can come amid great solemnity, pandemonium, even misery, and just as easily it may surface in the middle of philosophy, creativity, intimacy and play. Making happiness a destination in itself is a mark of deep unconsciousness; a sign that life is off course. Indeed those who pursue happiness as a hunter pursues his prey, are running headlong into the yawning jaws of the Control System. It loves those unfortunate souls who are obsessed with experiencing pleasure, relief, diversion, recreation and release – fumbling about in the gloom for gratification, self worth and warped expression of self. This decadent impulse moves the divine soul further and further away from its spiritual destiny with every selfcentred sensation that is conjured. The Control System is well aware of this, and so it treats happiness as a narcotic; sequestering it, dealing it, cutting it and distributing analogs of it, for a small fee, through the screen. The television/screen/internet/media-plex is offered as an antidote to the impossibly tiresome quest for real inner happiness. Instead, the suggestion is put forth that you can become contented by having

a beautiful car, shiny hair, whole-wheat cereal and pay-on-demand movies. This is what will dispel your sadness. Television is anti-human. Its message is clear: “Do not create for yourself. Manifest only official constructs.” Voluntary relinquishment of one’s own holographic imaginal palette is an extraordinary disavowal of the divine human ability to create reality. It is a deep necrotic sickness of the soul. Incredibly, many people sense this on a subtle level and yet they still go along with it because they lack the psychic or emotional knowhow to take matters into their own hands. It’s too hard to resist the pull of sensual engagement. To act from genuine selfhood and sovereignty takes discipline. It is absurd for any sentient being to believe that they can be informed, educated or entertained by the screens and pages of the construct. Is there anything of value there? Crumbs fall from the table, occasionally – but they’re eclipsed by the constant torrent of normality that pours into the third eye. Society’s role models – stars, celebrities and media avatars – are so deeply infused with the synthetic accoutrements of compliance, that they operate as strategic resonance amplifiers, loyal Control System agents committed to disseminating the uncreative cultural Trojan horse. The meme spreads: unconscious consumption displaces the human impulse for creation. The screen of normality broadcasts the vulgar static of the old ways in an attempt to diminish the delicate harmonics of the unfolding shift. It is irrelevant what is on the screen. Whether it is a butterfly alighting on a pure white petal, or a skull being crushed underfoot, it is the emanation of unthinking submission. In this way, the seemingly passive activity of watching television is a tacit agreement to swallow that which is counterfeit. It propagates the myth that there is an external world separate from us; that all the traditions, monarchies, constitutions, histories and democracies are valuable and somehow central to the collective human narrative. They are not. These things have already withered away. This

ES, YOU. Not the en-

vironment, your mother’s genes or your junk food diet. Everything in your body that you see manifested as form and phenomena comes from the vibrations within your body that then give rise to either health or disease. What we feel--our emotions coordinate our biochemical, cellular and complete physiological states our entire lives. In other words, the cause of all disease is not tangible at all. Our outlook on life and how we feel about ourselves may be the most relevant health predictor of all. Many people are already familiar with the fact that emotional stress can lead to digestive issues, irritable bowel syndrome, tension and headaches, but many may not be aware that can also cause other physical illnesses such as cancer, cardiovascular disease and even symptoms of severe chronic pain. More subtly, one might develop psychosomatic symptoms or stress-related symptoms because of unresolved emotional issues. These are not new discoveries; researchers have studied the mind/ body interrelationship for several decades because of the importance of this link. Researchers around the world are slowly integrating research on how our energetic and emotional states cause health and/or disease. How we connect emo-

Page 6

The Cause of Your Physical Pain And Disease Is YOU tionally to our overall wellness and wellbeing may indeed be more relevant than any supplement, food, exercise, medical intervention or health treatment.

Pain is Both Physical and Emotional, But Healing Emotionally Can Eliminate Physical Pain Pain, of course, is always both a physical and an emotional experience. There are direct neural connections via the brain stem and spinal cord. The circulatory and lymphatic systems also carry neurotransmitters (hormones and immune cells) that find receptor sites in the brain which feedback and modulate the links between brain and body. In this way, every cell in the body, every cell -- is linked into the nervous system and as such, can be sensed and felt, whether or not we allow ourselves to be aware of this psychobiological fact. With a physical pain, there is an obvious link between the psychological experience of pain and an awareness of a physical location in the body. The pain seems to come from an elbow, or a toe, or a hip. Weirdly, we can feel the physical pain in that location even though most, but not all, of the processing is going on in the brain. The neural, blood, and immune pathways between brain and body are tagged with body location information, beginning in the spinal cord and with successively more specific tagging up through the brain stem and thalamus, each adding another layer of redundancy and complexity, until the experience becomes conscious and further identified as “mine” in the insula, parietal, and motor cortices. The marvel of the nervous system is that even though body sense awareness is largely a creation of cortical complexity, we feel in 3-D: the pain is “in” my knee, that object is “out there” in space, etc.

So, with this kind of logic, we can come back to the neural similarities between emotional and physical pain. If the similarity is not just in the brain but also in the body, it’s perfectly reasonable to ask: Where does an emotional pain hurt? If there really is an economy of pain networks that includes both physical and emotional pain, and if physical pain has a body location, then this simple syllogism leads to the conclusion that emotional pain must have a physical location in the body. Feelings of insecurity get the heart and the breath out of synch and activate the sympathetic nervous system as if we were dealing with a threat (elevated heart rate and blood pressure), and can create a sense of unease in the chest, and even pain. People who have been hurt by others often have retracted chests and downcast postures, which are muscular ways of protecting the heart and closing off the self from fully engaging with others for fear of being hurt again. And people in insecure relationships are more likely to have cardiovascular (and other health) problems than those who are more secure.

Vibration is Energy Every type of energy has a different vibrational frequency. For example, water has one, and when it turns to ice, it has a different vibration. When it turns to vapour, the vibration changes again. Sound waves have their own frequency of vibration. Of all these, thought vibration is the strongest. Most of our thoughts we turn into words -spoken words -- and these words we put into action. Action when repeated again and again, form our habits, is it not? And our very nature, our character, is determined by our

HEN IT COMES to health, many people see winter as the toughest time of the year. It’s not uncommon to feel challenged with immune issues, stress, depression or a lack of energy in the winter months. Partly this is because it’s the natural completion of the life cycle, and the world around us is retreating into sleep mode. If our actions and choices are not in alignment with this seasonal tone, our health and wellness start to fall apart. This lack of winter health alignment is an all too common state in western society at large. We are surrounded with opportunities to live a synthetic reality. Life is easily filled with sensory overload, stress, food options and environments that tell our bodies to respond in opposing ways to those presented by the natural world. This equation creates a conflict or disconnect within us, commonly leading to imbalance, before we know it we are sick, depressed, or burnt out. The life cycle completion that winter represents is an important and necessary step in both our health and evolutionary process. This time of year offers an opportunity to look inside and become more introspective. To reflect on life choices, align deeper with your purpose, vision your coming season's efforts and most importantly: slow down, rest and reset. This internal focus is an easy alignment when the natural energies of seasonal awareness are utilized. Throughout the year these energies are as follows: Spring activation, Summer manifestation, Fall accumulation and Winter decline. When we live in alignment with these, we naturally become more proactive in reducing and managing imbalances and (dis)ease states of the body, mind, and soul. Winter offers the perfect opportunity to refocus our attention, and set new intention for how we choose to show up in the world.

Understanding the four-fold landscape of wholistic health When looking at our overall wellness, it is important to acknowledge the entire spiral of who we are. Understanding seasonal awareness is a valuable piece of our health path, though so too is acknowledging the four-fold landscape of our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual nature. Just because something feels good on one level of our being doesn’t necessarily make it good for us on all levels. When our choices are rooted in an understanding of how they affect each aspect of ourselves, we naturally gravitate to the right tools for generating our deepest expression of health and well-being. This wholistic model should ideally be integrated into every action we take in life, then overlapped with the seasonal filter of how our choices fit into the natural cycles of life around us.

For example: should I eat a garden salad for dinner in January? On one side we know that salads are healthy, full of vital energy, good for our digestive system and beneficial to gut bacterial. Salads may even make us feel happy and proud of our choices in diet. In doing so they could be in alignment with a four-fold understanding, but when we apply the seasonal filter we see that they are way out of alignment with the winter world around us. A salad tells the body it’s spring or summer, and presents us with energetics that are cool and cleansing, rather than warm and protecting which are an important for winter health.

Best winter practices for nourishing our wholistic health v PHYSICAL Slowing down, resting, staying warm and not pushing ourselves too hard are important during the winter months. It’s also essential to get some activity outside and find opportunities to breathe the crisp, fresh air. Chopping wood, walking, skiing, or just playing in the elements gives our body deeper wisdom in knowing how to best show up and prepare for the season. Diet wise, natural winter foods are cooked seasonal options, as well as those that have been preserved and stored from the summer/fall abundance. Foods such as fermented vegetables, beans and seeds, root vegetables like beets, carrots and parsnips, dark leafy greens like kale and collards, healthy fats such as organic dairy, fish, coconut oil, high quality animal protein, and bone broths are all great winter choices. It is not an ideal time for cooling foods, like raw vegetables, fresh fruit, juices, sugars or tropical foods. We can also start to integrate warming tonic and immune herbs, and medicinal mushrooms as teas, broths and elixir drinks. Herbs such as Astragalus, Eleuthro, Reishi, Chaga, Goji Berry, Rosehips, Fo-ti, Ginger, Cinnamon and Chai spices are ideal in this season. There are many other herbs that are supportive for proactive or specific health concerns this time of year. A great source in Canada for quality organic plant based health options is www.harmonicarts.ca v MENTAL Slowing down and focusing our minds on introspective thought can be a key practice in the winter months. If we scatter our thoughts on too many projects or ideas, it creates gaps in energy and increases the stress load in the body. Less multi-tasking and more depth into specific projects is ideal. Also finding ways to avoid circular thinking on issues we can control is important. Much good visioning can be accomplished with a focused mind and winter is the perfect time to do this work. Plan projects, fortify programs, and hold space for regenerative health to

The Use Of Secret Courts Confirms The End Of Democracy In Britain

T

he use of secret courts is where trials take place that are not open to the public, nor generally reported in the news and generally no official record of the case or the judge’s verdict is made available. Often there is no legal allegation. The accused is usually not able to obtain the counsel of an lawyer or confront witnesses for the prosecution, and the proceedings are characterised by a perceived miscarriage of justice to the benefit of the ruling powers of the society. This is the stuff of cold war Russia and Nazi Germany – right? Think again. http://www.activistpost.com/2015/12/the-use-of-secret-courtsconfirms-the-end-of-democracy-in-britain.html

E HEAR A LOT these days about the medicinal benefits of marijuana, which were given hardly any attention just a few decades ago. We used to treat marijuana as a dangerous drug that either makes its users lazy or encourages them to try harder drugs that are actually dangerous and addicting. While that kind of propaganda is still alive and well, the world is slowly realizing that marijuana can actually be good for the human body. It would’ve been nearly impossible to get someone to acknowledge or accept this a short time ago, but with the power of the Internet and alternative media, knowledge of the health benefits of cannabis has spread to the most skeptical corners of society. Well-known doctors are coming out in favour of medical marijuana, and people are realizing it was a mistake to ignore scientifically proven facts and countless anecdotal accounts of how the plant has helped people. The world is changing its stance on marijuana, but for this article, I’d like to put the spotlight on its cousin, hemp. Hemp is not an intoxicant, which means you can’t get high from it, but it’s illegal in the U.S. just like marijuana. You can buy hemp products that presumably come from other countries, but you can’t grow it here if you don’t live in a state where it’s legal. Hemp’s illegal status is just as unfortunate as marijuana’s, and like its psychoactive counterpart, it has myriad health benefits. I’d like to look at some of them here, because the world needs to know that the cannabis plant is not the scourge it’s been made out to be for the last century. It has a lot to give to humanity, and here, we’ll learn about the benefits of hemp seeds and other hemp-based foods.

Page 10

Hemp is healthy Surprising Health Benefits Of Hemp

Rose Haney at SF Gate tells us that hemp is becoming more popular than ever for its essential nutrients. “Hemp’s reputation has flourished as its health benefits continue to be revealed. Hemp, which has been consumed for centuries, contains several essential nutrients for the body. One particular benefit of eating hemp is that it provides protein. Consuming hemp protein also offers additional nutritional benefits and, as a result, hemp has become popular with people wanting to improve their health.” (1) It’s a complete source of protein, which makes it a great protein alternative for vegetarians and vegans. “Foods can be classified as complete, partial, or incomplete sources of proteins. In order for a food to be classified as complete, it must contain all eight essential amino acids. Hemp is considered a complete protein because it contains all eight essential amino acids in sufficient quantities to meet the body’s needs. This also makes hemp a good alternative source of protein for vegetarians and vegans.” (2) Hemp protein is easy to digest, unlike soy protein. “Hemp protein is easy to digest. It contains two types of proteins, edestin and albumin, which are known as globular proteins. Globular proteins dissolve easily so they are

readily accessible for the body to use. This is in contrast to soy protein, for example, which can be more difficult for the body to digest. Soy contains inhibitors that block the action of trypsin and other enzymes that are needed to break down protein. This can often result in unwanted bloating and gas.” (3) Hemp gives us the protein we need – protein that’s easier to digest than what we get from soy – without the saturated fats we get from other popular protein sources like meat and dairy. “Dairy products and red meat are good sources of protein. However, they can be high in saturated fat. Hemp protein is low in saturated fat. Furthermore, it contains the essential fatty acids, omega-3 and omega-6, in an optimal three- toone ratio. “According to The Office of Dietary Supplements of the National Institutes of Health, eating these essential fatty acids in an optimal ratio reduces risks for heart attack, cardiovascular problems, atherosclerosis and certain types of cancer. “Consuming unsaturated fats is also associated with a reduced risk for dementia. The ‘Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease’ revealed in a 2010 article that elderly people with diets including greater amounts of unsaturated fats had a reduced risk for memory impairment and the later development of dementia.” (4)

Like the miracle plant it is, hemp is even good for the environment. “The production of hemp protein on a large scale is earth friendly. It grows tall and fast and its dense growth kills weeds. Therefore, the use of pesticides or herbicides is unnecessary when growing hemp. Additionally, Manitoba Harvest, a hemp producer, reports that hemp is a sustainable ‘green’ product even when produced on a large scale. Compared to other crops, growing hemp is more cost effective and less damaging to the environment.” (5) Sandeep Godiyal at Natural News explains how hemp is good for the heart. “Hemp seeds contain essential fatty acids that can reduce blood cholesterol. This keeps the heart healthy and also prevents plaque buildup in the arteries, which can ultimately lead to heart attack and strokes. Its fatty acids also reduce inflammation that can cause high blood pressure and poor blood circulation. Therefore, hemp can significantly reduce the workload on your heart.” (6) It’s not just good for the heart; those essential fatty acids help the brain too. “Your brain has lot of fatty acids found in hemp. Therefore, regular consumption of hemp can prevent diseases such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s and can also improve your memory. Hemp seeds can also alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression and can improve your mood.” (7) Apparently, it’s even good for your skin. “Hemp oil is mostly used in high-end cosmetic products such as skin lotions, soaps and lip balms. This is mainly because this oil penetrates the inner layers of the skin and promotes vigorous cell growth for a smoother and softer skin. Hemp is also good for clearing up skin disorders such as psoriasis, eczema

OULD THE VERY plant that for decades was accused of “frying” users’ brains be far superior to pharmaceuticals in treating the “incurable” neurodegenerative condition known as Parkinson’s disease?

Despite the political controversy surrounding medical marijuana use in the country, research has begun to emerge showing that a component of this plant known as cannabidiol (CBD), and which does not have the controversial psychoactive properties associated with tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), may have a wide range of therapeutic applications, including treating conditions that are refractory to conventional drugbased approaches. One such condition is Parkinson’s disease, to which there is, at present, no effective conventional treatment. In fact, the primary treatment involves dopamine increasing drugs that also increase a neurotoxic metabolite known as with 6-hydroxy-dopamine, and which therefore can actually accelerate the progression of the disease. This is why natural alternatives that are safe, effective, and backed up by scientific evidence, are so needed today. Thankfully, preclinical research on cannabidiol has already revealed some promising results,

?

Pot for Parkinson’s The Scientific Evidence Is Compelling

including two studies in animal models of Parkinson’s disease (PD) assessing its neuroprotective properties: “In the first one, Lastres-Becker et al. (2005) showed that the administration of CBD counteracted neurodegeneration caused by the injection of 6-hydroxy-dopamine in the medial prosencephalic bundle, an effect that could be related to the modulation of glial cells and to antioxidant effects (Lastres- Becker et al., 2005). In the next year, Garcia-Arencibia et al. (2007) tested many cannabinoid compounds following the lesion of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra with 6-hydroxy-dopamine and found that the acute administration of CBD seemed to have a neuroprotective action; nonetheless, the administration of CBD one week

after the lesion had no significant effects (Garcia-Arencibia et al., 2007). This study also pointed to a possible antioxidant effect with the upregulation of mRNA of the enzyme Cu-Zn-superoxide dismutase following the administration of CBD.” [1] In addition to these animal studies, the following three human clinical trials have been conducted to evaluate cannabidiol’s neuroprotective effects. A 2006 study published in Biological Psychology titled, “Dorsolateral Prefrontal Cortex N-Acetylaspartate/ Total Creatine (NAA/tCr) Loss in Male Recreational Cannabis Users,” investigated the N-acetylaspartate to creatine ratios (NAA/Cr) in the brain of regular cannabis users through magnetic resonance spectroscopy (H1-MRS) to assess the neurotoxic and neuroprotective effects of cannabinoids present in the drug and found a strong positive correlation between CBD and NAA/Cr in the globus pallidus and putamen.[2] According to the study, “the globus pallidum is the region with the highest amount of CB1-receptors in the brain and the target of neurostimulation in patients with Parkinson’s disease, who developed a strong tremor. Our MRSI results support a positive effect of CBD on the putamen/ globus pallidum region in cannabis use.

Therefore, it may be promising to test a possible influence of the nonpsychotropic CBD in the onset of Parkinson’s disease.” A 2009 study published in the Journal of Psychopharmacology titled, “Cannabidiol for the treatment of psychosis in Parkinson’s disease,”[3] assessed the therapeutic use and neuroprotective effect of CBD in PD patients. The open label study was conducted with six patients with PD-related psychosis. They were administered CBD at doses ranging from 150 mg in the first week to 400 mg in the fourth and last week of treatment (doses were adjusted to optimize the clinical response). The study reported significant improvements in psychosis as well as in the total scores of a scale that measures general symptoms of PD (Unified Parkinson’s disease rating scale – UPDRS) A 2014 study published in the Journal of Psychopharmacology titled, “Effects of cannabidiol in the treatment of patients with Parkinson’s disease: an exploratory double-blind trial,” evaluated the effects of cannabidiol in Parkinson’s disease patients, dividing 21 patients into 3 groups of 7 receiving either placebo,

ALWAYS FIND it interesting that people blame corporate greed for our overall condition. Sure it’s a major factor at one level, but it’s just an obvious outcropping of something much, much deeper, and, sadly, not that many are willing to go there. That the entire world system is built on a capitalist system in one form or another is mind-boggling. Defying our innate conscious awareness to the contrary, the signal has been given and repeatedly endorsed as well as crassly promoted that we need to gain off of each other, in each and every transaction, every exchange, in a no holds barred, dog eat dog environment. One look at the marketing world and you get the picture: where the supposed “fittest” come out on top. This is how and why the populace acquiesces to domination by the few. “They’re just good at what they do. They’re smarter and more motivated than the rest of us so surely they deserve to be winners in the game.” Humanity’s being told how the game works and that this is your only option. “It’s just the way it is, so get to work and earn your salary, then invest in the game and try to get ahead and make a name and lots of money for yourself.” At which point the sharks devour the unsuspecting guppy. Group absolved endemic greed doesn’t make it right, however justified, by any stretch of the imagination.

The Corporate “Growth” Model It’s fully accepted that corporations need

The Psychopathy of

Greed

to grow: for their good, for our good, or so we’re told. It’s a fear based econo-survivalist psychological scam. Who says they need to constantly make more, for their investors’ interests or otherwise? Yet this is considered healthy in a capitalistic system, under the guise of increased jobs and benefits and a prosperous economy. Do the employees really benefit? Do the consumers who go increasingly into debt trying to catch the materialist carrot benefit? Who really benefits? Yet this model is accepted carte blanche as a driving force for a healthy economy. If you stand back to think about it outside of all this financial gibberish it’s completely destructive, enslaving insanity for the good of the few. And yet this model is mimicked as if it’s the paradigm of truth through every level of Pavlovian entrained economic and interpersonal commerce engagement.

Getting to the Root of the Problem The entire system is built on a background of assumed scarcity, that there’s not enough to go around so unless you push and shove your way into a place where you “earn” your keep and beat those around you you’ll be hung out to dry. Clever bastards. All while they sit at the top of the food chain devouring their prey.

What’s even more surreal is how those who “succeed” in making a lot of money are then considered authorities on any and every subject. Just look at the Rockefeller family, one such horror show among many, screwing their way up the capitalist ladder who then set up think tanks, foundations and whatnot to influence the course of humanity according to their whims. What or who made them the “wise ones” to rule over us? Guess what: Endorsed greed, abject avarice and the resultant intoxicating money and power in the hands of a few. Look at creeps like George Soros or Bill Gates and a plethora of other unelected plutocrats, inserted intellectuals and accepted moral and geopolitical authorities like the Pope, lap dog Kissinger, or voice pet Brzezinski and the panoram a of puppet heads of state. It’s insane. Never mind the Rothchilds, Carnegies, Morgans, the so-called royal families of Europe such as the Windsors and House of Orange-Nassau of the Netherlands, the Vatican or whomever is hoarding the really big bucks. The message is the same: in their minds we, and our world, are owned. And they ain’t sharing nothing with the rest of us. Why? Apparently we don’t deserve it. Do you like that fate and outcome? “Everyone else is accepting it, so it must be OK”…reasons the stilted servant.

Greed — A Name You Can Trust You’ve all heard the outlandish sta-

tistics about how few have so much in this world. Yet it is by and large accepted by quiet submission, incredible as that may seem. The problem is humanity’s acquiescence to a rigged system. While the wealth of some of these bloodline families, banking moguls and mega rich corporate thugs could feed the poor of the earth many times over, they sit on their booty and only get more oppressive. This brings us to the psychopathy of greed, amongst many other issues. Greed is insatiable. It is a vampiric dynamic. It only sucks and is never satisfied. Wealth soon takes a back seat to power and control, their ultimate aphrodisiac. This is what it all leads to. And this reptilian, archontic urge is never satisfied, it always wants more: at any cost to the hosts of these parasites. The issue is that psychopathy, especially in positions of power, is not just rampant but so readily accepted. That’s where the problem exponentially compounds. This is the most heartbreaking aspect to all of this: how humanity has bought into their program, and replicates these unnatural urges at every level of society, which, of course, their system is designed to do. And while the masses abuse each other in this same lower vibrational parasitic frequency, no one is conscious enough to realize their oppressive trendsetters are feeding off of all of humanity by the very meme they’ve put into place. If people woke up to that one fact we’d have an overnight revolution of disengagement causing a massive resetting of how society should and could cooperate.

Conclusion — The 5 Step Program Parasitic forces build parasitic institutions,

The 4 Scariest (But Secretly Wonderful)

Steps toward Enlightenment By Gary ‘Z’ McGee www.wakingtimes.com

“M

AKE NO MISTAKE about it – enlightenment is a destructive process. It has nothing to do with becoming better or being happier. Enlightenment is the crumbling away of untruth. It’s seeing through the facade of pretence. It’s the complete eradication of everything we imagined to be true.” –Adyashanti The first thing to remember, here at the outset, is that enlightenment is not a destination but a direction. It is not a truth but a process. It is both imaginary and real. It is not an either-or, but a both-and. It is only achievable when it is understood that it is an unachievable thing. Once we can let go of the need to achieve it, then we free ourselves to allow the process to unfold, and we become the achieving. It is the constantly expanding horizon of human flourishing. But it can hurt like hell. Indeed, enlightenment is no walk in the park. The first teacher met on the path toward enlightenment tends to be Pain itself. Enlightenment is both a reckoning and a wrecking, both an expansion and an annihilation. The following four steps are just the tip of a much deeper iceberg of trials and tribulations, fraught with menacing thresholds and sinister Rubicons. Thin-skinned, faint-of-heart, status-quo-junkies addicted to comfort, need not apply. And if you decide to apply, leave your invulnerability behind. It’s an illusion anyway. Here then are four of the scariest, but secretly wonderful, steps one can take on the path toward enlightenment.

1. Vulnerability and Self-Honesty

“There’s a whole category of people who miss out by not allowing themselves to be weird enough.” –Alain de Botton Vulnerability is downright scary. But in order to gain the ability to learn from our mistakes, to have fun with our inherent hypocrisy, and to have a good sense of humor in regards to our fallibility as an imperfect species, we must first have the capacity to be vulnerable, which requires brutal self-honesty and ruthless self-interrogation. Brutal self-honesty and ruthless self-interrogation forces us to face our own demons. It pushes us to confront our most personal foibles, fallibilities, and unhealthy propensities and to question all authorities, especially our own. It forces our head over the abyss of the human condition, searing our soul with the unavoidable blazing flame of truth: impermanence. It slaps

us across the face with its absolute mockery of our happiness ever being a thing that can be permanent. It insouciantly rattles off the almighty cosmic joke, making damn certain we realize we’re the butt-end of that joke. Which is why a particularly effective strategy at achieving a state of vulnerability and selfhonesty is to use our sense of humour. When we laugh at ourselves we loosen ourselves up. The screws of our seriousness get unscrewed by the genius of our humorous sincerity. We suddenly go from being the butt-end of the joke, to laughing at the joke, thus turning the tables on the joke’s power over us, and thus on power itself. When we can laugh at ourselves we are allowing ourselves to be “weird,” to tackle the dilemma of the self from another angle, to impose a state of existential vulnerability that transforms the soul into a prism where the light of truth can shine through and take the form of the rainbow of self-honesty. And Pain is the terribly-beautiful, shinyred, thorny and jagged little pill that we learn to swallow, again and again, with a devilmay-care, spiritually masochistic smile on our all-too-human faces. Bottoms up!

will guide you to the red pill, but he/she should never force it down your throat. Like Adyashanti said, “My speaking is meant to shake you awake, not to tell you how to dream better.” You have to want to dream better first. “The function of the imagination is not to make strange things settled, so much as to make settled things strange.” –G. K. Chesterton Swallowing the red pill is a frightening prospect. It shatters world views and dissolves certainty. It replaces answers with questions. It upends all apple carts: psychological, physical, and spiritual. It reconditions preconditioning.

It cleanses the doors of perception. It shatters the glassy essence of cognitive dissonance; the shards of which splinter off and sting like mad in the fleshy heart of truth. It leaves your soul naked, vulnerable, and blank-slated in the angry eye of an apocalyptic existential-hurricane of uncertainty. It reveals that you were always God in hiding. And the heavy burden of that prospect alone can be a soul-crushing responsibility. But like Seneca said, “A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials.”

3. Ego Annihilation

“There are plenty of difficult obstacles in your path. Don’t allow yourself to become one of them.” — Ralph Marsten

See “ENLIGHTENMENT” on page 24

2. Swallowing the Jagged Red Pill of Truth

“The less people know, the more stubbornly they know it.” –Osho Without the painful red pill of truth, we’re stuck with the all-too-comfortable blue pill of deception. The blue pill gets stuck in our throat, causing no end of blockages, suppressions, oppressions, and depressions. The blue pill is a beacon of deception, lodged in our throat chakra, jamming all frequencies and preventing us from speaking our truth and from being impeccable with our word. The blue pill is a magnet for lies. And lies are sexy, scandalous scoundrels. They float around in a foggy smoke, seducing us with false kindness, kissing us just the right way, and lulling us into brain-washable complacency and a heightened state of malleability. Under the blue pill’s seduction, we are pawns wallowing in selfincurred immaturity. Taking the red pill dislodges the blue pill, thus clearing the passage and opening all frequencies to the truth. “Enlightenment is man’s emergence from self-incurred immaturity. Immaturity is the inability to use one’s own understanding without the guidance of another.” –Immanuel Kant But seeker of enlightenment beware, particularly of the teacher who longs to jam even the red pill down your throat. The choice must be yours, and yours alone. A good teacher

These 5 Things Will Influence Your Health More Than Anything Else In Your Life By Karen Foster

www.wakingtimes.com

M

OST EDUCATIONAL AND government institutions around the world have a very poor track record when it comes to influencing the practical habits that keep their populations healthy. They say we are destined for disease depending on our genetics and biology without ever addressing some of the most significant determinants that shape our health.

1) What Your Skin Absorbs Our skin’s production of vitamin D dramatically influences our health. It is influenced by age (people ages 65 and over generate only one-fourth as much as people in their 20s do), skin colour (African Americans have, on average, about half as much vitamin D in their blood as white Americans), and sunscreen use (slather on sunscreen in the summer and you’re guaranteed to eliminate prime opportunities to soak in Vitamin D). Spraying toxic bug repellents, creams and other cosmetics influence your immunity. Children have a large body surface area and tender skin, making them more prone to cross-skin absorption. People over 65 tend to have thinner skin and have had years of exposure to sun, which also makes their skin absorb more of these chemicals. The last thing you should be doing after 60 is applying cosmetics, moisturizers (unless they are natural), makeup, and using conventional shampoos and conditioners. Researchers have discovered specific molecular signaling events by which vitamin D via skin production prevents inflammation. In experiments, many researchers have shown that low levels of Vitamin D, comparable to levels found in millions of people, failed

to inhibit the inflammatory cascade–a series of rapid biochemical events which propagates and matures the inflammatory response within the immune system.

2) What You Ingest These days, what you are not eating is far more important than what you are. Artificial flavors, colors, preservatives, emulsifiers, sweeteners have saturated the food supply for more than four decades. Avoiding these ingredients goes a long way in at least preventing toxic overloads. Trying to consume organic produce and avoiding glyphosate driven GMOs may very well add many years to our lives. Some nutrients such as wheat and soy are practically unavoidable when eating any kind of processed foods and each is profoundly inflammatory, immunotoxic and neurotoxic. When most people remove these from their diets, they lose weight, decrease inflammation and often increase the functionality of their immune system. The nutritional quality of our foods influences the nutritional status and immune system of the nation. Eliminating vaccinations, medications and other artificially manufactured substances only improves our health in the long-term. Although diet plays an integral role in the functioning of our immune system, it is only one of many elements that contribute to its full function.

and ER visits for cardiovascular diseases, increased respiratory symptoms such as coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath, and lung function changes. What you breathe influences the full gamut of physiological and cellular processes that allow you to keep living. The cleaner your air, the more functional your immune system.

4) How Much You Move Regular physical activity, fitness, and exercise are critically important for the immune system of people of all ages. Research has demonstrated that virtually all individuals can benefit from regular physical activity, whether they participate in vigorous exercise or some type of moderate health-enhancing physical activity. Even among frail and very old adults, mobility and functioning can be improved through physical activity. It has been shown to reduce the morbidity and mortality from many chronic diseases and immune functioning is directly correlated to how much we move. Studies have linked sedentary lifestyles to more than 25 percent of deaths from major chronic diseases where immunity was fully impaired. Millions suffer from chronic illnesses that can be prevented or improved through regular physical activity which can be anything from walking to swimming, riding a bike or engaging in team sports.

3) What You Breathe

5) What You Think

The health effects linked to exposure of even short-term fine particle pollution are highly detrimental to human health. They include nonfatal heart attacks, increased hospital admissions, emergency room (ER) visits and doctors visits for lung diseases, increases hospital admissions

Perhaps the most significant factor in our state of health is what we think and feel about our lives and ourselves. Epigenetics is the phenomena whereby genetically identical cells express their genes differently, resulting in different physical traits. Biologists have suspected for years

Zen Gardener from page 12

and encourage the same in others while maintaining their dominance. Be it corporatism, capitalism, communism and socialism, fractional banking or base line competition for resources and day to day needs, this system is rigged to the core.

Agreeing to help foment this dog-eat-dog mentality under the guise of survival or “rightful competition” only perpetuates the problem. To become free and help build the better world we know exists, requires conscious disconnection with this systemic disease. It begins in both small and big steps. But the underlying propellant towards change is identifying the problem for what it is. A parasitic disease, promulgated by

that some kind of epigenetic inheritance occurs at the cellular level. The different kinds of cells in our bodies provide an example. Skin cells and brain cells have different forms and functions, despite having exactly the same DNA. There must be mechanisms–other than DNA–that make sure skin cells stay skin cells when they divide. According to Dr. Bruce Lipton, gene activity can change on a daily basis. If the perception in your mind is reflected in the chemistry of your body, and if your nervous system reads and interprets the environment and then controls the blood’s chemistry, then you can literally change the fate of your cells by altering your thoughts. Our genes are quite dynamic in their expression and the calmness of our mind can actually have a potential influence on their expression. “The major problem is that people are aware of their conscious beliefs and behaviours, but not of subconscious beliefs and behaviours. Most people don’t even acknowledge that their subconscious mind is at play, when the fact is that the subconscious mind is a million times more powerful than the conscious mind and that we operate 95 to 99 percent of our lives from subconscious programs,” says Lipton. The new science of epigenetics promises that every person on the planet has the opportunity to become who they really are, complete with unimaginable power and the ability to operate from, and go for, the highest possibilities, including healing our bodies and our culture and living in peace. those who stand to gain, and realizing their mindset is a pathological, direly destructive one that seeks to exert its twisted idea of oligarchical as well as personal control at any expense.

Step Up First, do your part. Realize what is transpiring before your eyes, no matter how horrid it may first appear. Second, disengage in any and every way possible. Just take steps in that direction and the mounting freedom it engenders will empower you to take the next step. Third, tell others – like a house afire. Use wisdom but never hold back. The hour is late as they are entering their last phases of implementable programs and are getting desperate to throttle humanity’s awakening. Fourth – stand strong in your convictions. Feed those convictions, strengthen them, and encourage the same in others, as the mainstream of society is a nasty polluted river we must avoid, resist, oppose and most of all penetrate and reverse with everything in us. Fifth – Stand fast in your convictions. Live a life committed to your newfound awakened understanding, fearlessly. The presence of awakened individuals does more than we’ll ever know. See greed for what it is, but most of all don’t comply with their fabricated hierarchical world of abuse. It’s fraudulent, manipulative, destructive and a de facto form of voluntary enslavement. See the world for what it has become. But more importantly, see the world as it should be and operate within that paradigm. Their fabricated world of lies will then crumble at our feet. O ONE REALLY KNOWS the true cause of autism, but the numbers are rising, with approximately 1 in 50 school-aged children in the United States diagnosed with autism (2011). Taking into account that in 2007 this ratio was at 1 in 87 children, by 2025 it is predicted that half of United States children will have autism. Effective treatment for autism is desperately needed, but the medical establishment has been largely unsuccessful. This is why parents of autistic children, such as Kerri Rivera, often have no choice but to take matters into their own hands when learning to cope with raising an autistic child. To share her amazing discoveries in treating autism with the world she wrote the book Healing the Symptoms Known as Autism, which explains the treatment protocol she developed. Rivera developed the Chlorine Dioxide (CD) autism treatment protocol that addresses the presence of pathogens, such as fungi, bacteria, heavy metals, parasites, candida, etc., found in almost every child with autism. She believes that CD treatment effectively kills off these pathogens that are causing inflammation and autoimmune response, which in turn manifest themselves into a complex of symptoms, which we call autism, that produce near complete impairment of social interactions. Rivera’s treatment has reportedly resulted in the recovery of over one hundred autistic children, and many parents would even consider her protocol to a possible autism cure. In her book, Rivera states: Today more than 115 children globally have lost their diagnosis of autism (meaning an ATEC score of under 10

Mother of Autistic Boy Discovers Treatment That Cures Hundreds points). Additionally, thousands of children around the globe have dropped points on their ATEC and are moving towards recovery. 27 children in less than 1 year in Venezuela alone lost their diagnosis of autism with a combination of diet, CD, and ocean water to the surprise of the doctors who diagnosed them in the first place. Many of those same doctors are now looking at CD for other patients. Update: More recently, Rivera claimed 164 children were cured using her treatment via her Facebook page, although the page is no longer active. Note: ATEC stands for Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist Dr. Lorna B. Oritz, President of Curando el Autismo, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing information about successful autism treatments in Spanish to Hispanic families, believes Rivera is one of the first courageous leaders who have dedicated their lives to understanding the mysterious connection between the immune system, the brain and human behaviour. “Kerri’s protocols have been indispensable to the full recovery of many of the kids in our Cuarando de Autismo Foundation. These protocols represent a readily available and effective solution to alleviate most of the pathogenic insults to the immune system.” Why are potential solutions such as Rivera’s treatment for autism often ignored or ridiculed by the medical establishment? Currently, there is no mainstream

support for research into why CD helps treat the symptoms known as autism. The medical establishment is profit centered and acceptable treatments and cures must pass through an impossible maze of corporate competition and government red tape. Simple, affordable solutions to complex problems are not elevated and promoted in this environment. These types of solutions continue to also find it difficult to receive approval among medical journals, which by the way are compromised and increasingly funded by drug companies. Here’s Rivera’s take: The development of this protocol has been a growing grass roots effort, in sharp contrast to how modern medicine usually works. The reason for this is clear: Modern medicine has not really helped to heal autism and may very well be part of its cause. While we don’t have any double blind studies to rest on, we do have a slew of anecdotal evidence, which may not mean much to those in the arena of modern medicine or modern science, that doesn’t make it any less real. Grass roots movements such as the parents following Rivera’s CD treatment for autism are becoming more common and are creating a paradigm shift in the way that the world views the role of mainstream medicine in treating autism. Many in the medical profession scrutinize this type of behaviour and even regard it as dangerous. Perhaps if medical researchers were keener on evaluating all possible treatments not just those that are sure to

result in giant profits, parents would have less need to find their own solutions to living with children with autism. OW MORE THAN ever before our society is seeing the need to take matters into our own hands and not rely on others to get the job done for us. The topic of un-schooling has become quite popular and with good reason. According to Wikipedia: “Unschooling is an educational method and philosophy that advocates learner-chosen activities as a primary means for learning. Unschooling students learn through their natural life experiences including play, household responsibilities, personal interests and curiosity, internships and work experience, travel, books, elective classes, family, mentors, and social interaction. Unschooling encourages exploration of activities initiated by the children themselves, believing that the most personal learning is, the more meaningful, well understood and, therefore, useful it is to the child. While courses may occasionally be taken, unschooling questions the usefulness of standard curricula, conventional grading methods, and other features of traditional schooling in the education of each unique child.” I couldn’t agree more. It’s about taking the reigns in our children’s education to ensure that they are not just getting a good one but they have the opportunity to see the great joy of learning. After six years of leaving it up to the system, my son lost that great joy.

All Children Love To Learn All kids love to learn and my son was not excluded from that. After a couple years of school, I noticed that school didn’t feel like a place of learning for him. Learning was something that naturally manifested into his life. I taught him sign language before he ever said his first word. He loved books, songs, art, counting and all the stuff a child his age liked to learn about. As early as grade one, he began showing signs that he would prefer not to go there. Recently I saw an episode of The Simpsons titled, ‘Lisa’s Sax’ from Season 9, which shows a flashback to Bart’s first day of kindergarten. Some of you may know the one. In the episode, Bart starts his first day saying, “School will be fun.” Shortly after, his initial enthusiasm is crushed by an uncaring and bitter teacher who says that he would be a failure at life, and he draws a violent sketch of his feelings. I feel that’s what it was like for my son (and many other kids) when they entered school for the first time. They go in with enthusiasm and excitement and end up with disdain and confusion. In grade four, he began to ask me questions regarding the structure of school. He told me he didn’t like that the kids were constantly being told to be quiet and sit still. He didn’t understand why he couldn’t eat when he was hungry. He was confused why he couldn’t

learn about the things that he liked or was interested in. He asked why the teachers stopped using games and songs and kept playtime to a scheduled time once a week. Prompted by my son’s inquires, I was compelled to do research about public education and its origins which I will share my findings later in this article. When my son was in grade 5, I noticed that he didn’t understand basic math concepts. Concerned, I reached out to his teacher who told me that she hadn’t noticed. She said she would look into it and I put my faith in her that she would get to the bottom of the problem. She never did and before I could follow up with her as to why nothing had been done, the teachers went on strike until the following school year. My son entered grade 6 and more problems regarding school began to arise.

The Move That Changed Our Lives By February of this year, school had created a horrible rift in our home life. When I would try to help my son with his homework, he would become extremely emotional and shut down. This made it almost impossible to help him. Eventually he had an emotional breakdown. He began by telling me that he was not going back to school. After asking him why he felt so strongly about this, he listed numerous reasons over the course of two hours. The things he brought up were that he felt like school was militarized. When asking why he felt like that he said because of the rules, the loud sound of the bell and that they made them run outside in the winter rain and cold everyday even if they didn’t want to. He felt like school was boring because he never had the opportunity to learn what he was interested in. How many of you reading this ask your children what they learned about in school when they come home and they reply with, “Nothing” or “Boring stuff”? My son disagreed with how the kids were treated, specifically that the teachers were above the students and that they were like masters and the kids were like slaves (his words). He didn’t feel like what he was learning about would benefit him in any way, not now, not ever. He felt stupid and the

pressure of “competing” with his peers was unbearable. This incident deeply saddened me. From what I could see, my baby was suffering and as his mother, it was my duty to find a solution to this and I feel I have. I had been toying with the idea of home education for years. Every day after school, I would tutor my son on things he would never learn while attending school which I think was the basis for him to be able to have an awareness that something just wasn’t right at that place. I so badly wanted him to see the joy of learning and how beneficial it is to be educated but felt with the lack of funding and set curriculum that was not possible. After laying out my options with home education and studying the philosophies and methods of un-schooling, I pulled my son from the school.

The Teachers Know That Public Education Is Horribly Flawed I sent an email to his teacher explaining a bit about why I was taking my son out of public education, which prompted the teacher to call me. We had a very long, enlightening conversation regarding the school system. The teacher told me that he completely supported and agreed with my decision to educate my son at home. He knew that the system was outdated at best and the kids are not benefiting from it in anyway. He stated that most kids in his class were having meltdowns at home and in school regarding it. He agreed with me that the system doesn’t teach the kids how to be critical thinkers and that can be very dangerous for a society as a whole. He told me that he would not be putting his kids in public education. That statement alone was enough to tell me I was doing the right thing. My son was in a split class and had two teachers. Between the two teachers, they shared 65 students. That is unbelievable! The teacher stated that he so badly wants to teach but it’s so conflicting because as a teacher, his hands are tied. He has to stick to a set curriculum and can’t really go outside of it. He said that there literally is no funding. Most teachers

pay for a lot of school supplies out of their own pockets. This morning I read a Polk county public school teacher’s letter of resignation [http://wusfnews.wusf.usf.edu/post/polk-teachers-resignation-letter-hits-nerve#stream/0). To me it’s more proof that the teachers know that the system is horribly flawed!

How My Son’s Life Has Changed Since we started our journey of unschooling, he now understands basic math concepts. His mood has also improved greatly. When I first caught wind to him being behind, I knew that it stemmed from his grade two year and he couldn’t get caught up because the teachers unfortunately don’t do one-on-one help. He got behind in the first place because he was being bullied and his teacher at the time was also doing questionable things like not letting him go to the bathroom. That was a bad year for him. I know that experience had a part in his perception of school and him falling behind. Regardless, nothing was done on the teacher’s part to rectify the problem and how could they if they don’t have the time or resources to give one-on-one help. The principal of my son’s school said that they don’t offer one-on-one help at that school and most public schools. The change from my son while he was in public school to un-schooling is like night and day. Now, he has complete say in what he learns about and because I know his interests, I can incorporate them into all subjects that he’s doing for that week. For example: he is completely obsessed with Samurais. So he completed math worksheets that had samurais on them, we explored the science of making katana swords, the geography of Japan, the history of the Edo period (time of the Samurais), writing assignments based on monks and Buddhism, the culture of Japan throughout history

I so badly wanted him to see the joy of learning and how beneficial it is to be educated but felt with the lack of funding and set curriculum that was not possible. After laying out my options with home education and studying the philosophies and methods of un-schooling, I pulled my son from the school. As a parent and an enthusiastic student of the universe, I believe all these things and more should be taught through public education! We must fill in the gaps whatever way we can in our current situations. The system is broken and the children are suffering.

I couldn’t believe how I could incorporate samurais into every single subject. Eventually, he started having self-directed days where he is his own teacher. He has the reigns and can decide what pace to go at and how much he wants to complete in one day. Some people have asked me if he does anything on the days when we’re not working together. Through un-schooling he has learned the importance and magic of learning. It’s all centered on his interests, passions, and curiosities so of course he does. He has the awareness that learning can manifest in anything. Whether it’s practicing his archery, tending to the plants, cooking, travelling, engaging in his passions and spending time with the ones he loves; he knows anything he engages himself in can teach him. When he was in school, he never set goals. Since we’ve been working together he sets goals and achieves them all the time. We have no set curriculum; he is in control with me as a guide. The greatest thing that I’ve learned through this experience is that we must be engaged in our children’s learning. Even if un-schooling doesn’t seem like an option. We can’t expect that all their education needs will be met at school. For example, the things he has learned through un-schooling that he could not learn while attending public education include: cooking, the Japanese language, Nikola Tesla, how to take notes, the power of one, philosophy, philosophers, astronomy, Gandhi (and other greats like him), quantum physics, Buddhism, Jesus, yoga, meditation, critical thinking, archery, how to grow food, laws of attraction, the power of gratitude, wilderness survival, various conscious documentaries like “I Am”, in depth political history and how society was built, natural healing and medicines, knowledge of self and so, so, so much more!

What Is The Solution? I’m all about creating sustainable solutions that we can start implementing today. I wanted to share my story about my son in hopes that it will help other parents who are watching their children suffer in the school system and to know that there are other options. I believe that our children are the future and as such, it is our duty to make sure they have not just a good education but an inspiring and enlightening one so they don’t make the same mistakes my generation and generations before me have made. There has been a large increase on discussions regarding public education and the effect it’s having on our children. I personally believe that the whole system needs to be changed. It’s outdated and has sinister roots. We have the power to change things and talking about the solutions is a good start. Recently, I read an article titled, ‘Why every parent should consider un-schooling’. In it, it states that with programs like No Child Left Behind (millions of children have actually been left behind) and Common Core (otherwise known as Common Conformity) in the United States, parents are finding the educational climate so unacceptable that they are willing to take a radically different path. Upon reading that, I was reminded of another article I read regarding director James Cameron (Titantic, Avatar) and his wife Suzy Cameron creating an innovative school called Muse. The concept behind MUSE

came about after Suzy, a global environmental activist, mother of 5, and proud wife, grew tired of watching her older children struggle in the traditional education system, and sought an alternative and more environmentally aware option. I definitely think creating new schools with the basis of the “un-schooling” philosophy is what we need but for many parents that can seem like light years away especially when our children are suffering now. I’ve written many articles on how any parent can adopt the philosophies of un-schooling or home education even if they have to work during the day. There is always a way. It really depends on how much work you are willing to put in. I will list the articles below as well as some other resources about un-schooling. I hope they are helpful for those who are considering like I was. Above all, I think if we work together, we can create a better, happier and more sustainable world for ourselves and generations to come and I believe the key to this is conscious education rooted from passion and expansion with no child ever being excluded or left behind.

N THE JOURNEY OF LIFE, many of the blessings that steer you towards the right path, and keep you on that path, often appear at first as personal crises. A challenge to your well-being is precisely what it takes to catalyze lasting and meaningful personal transformation, and you must awaken and overcome, facing the worst of yourself in order to discover the better version of yourself in waiting. When I experienced this personally many years ago, the crises in my life stacked up and became utterly impossible to ignore or cover up. Life slowed down to a suffocating pace while I grasped for direction and meaning. Happiness was a daydream. My fantastic corporate job, my good marriage, my friends, and all of my possessions were meaningless, and at every turn the world looked dark and unforgiving. Life sucked… to be more succinct. I’ve come to recognize that this was my ‘dark night of the soul,’ as many others have called similar trials and tribulations. It was an almost unbearable turning point when I had to gather all the facts of my existence and overcome my learned helplessness and dependence, completely recreating myself in order to survive. Much as a caterpillar leaves behind the comfort of the cocoon in order to set wings, I had to make the discovery that many of things

5 Signs

That You’re Outgrowing Yourself that were comfortable had become limitations to my progress, and therefore had to be tossed overboard. It’s not always easy to recognize when a great change is underway. Even the greatest of earthquakes is the cumulative result of many tiny shifts in the earth, and so too our lives can evolve in rapid, sweeping upheavals that almost go unnoticed. When you rise to the occasion and take an honest look within, the universe conspires to come to your aid, and anything becomes possible. Here are 5 signs, or clues, that you may be outgrowing yourself and that a more concentrated effort on your personal evolution is in order. The reward is well worth at least double any effort you put toward cultivating balance and positive energy in your life, and the world so desperately needs more awakened, selfactualized people who cannot be bent to conformity.

1. You Are Not Happy Are you happy? It seems that almost no one is these days, but happiness is the birthright of all human beings and the prize of those who muster the courage for honest self-discovery. We are trained to

view happiness in material terms, with an image of ‘success’ as the payoff for a lifetime of devotion to the consumer/corporate cultural paradigm. In the end, however, this paradigm only offers lifestyle tweaks, not genuine inner peace. If inner peace is unfamiliar to you, then the actions in your life are not supportive of your inner drive to discover meaningful, organic happiness of your own creation. The self that you’ve manufactured for yourself is no longer serving well your true self, and a re-construction of you is required.

2. You’ve Become Self-Destructive

Personal annihilation is now popularized in mainstream culture and the prevailing remedies for crises of the spirit are medication and self-medication. This comes in every possible form, from pharmacist to fetishist, and it is easier and more socially acceptable to suffocate and drown out any inner conflicts than it is to honour the drive for self-actualization. You already know if you are being self-destructive or not, but knowing this is not the same as knowing how to be self-constructive, which is what your soul is demanding of you. It wants you to re-connect and re-build, from the ground up if necessary, but, your habits and your environment want to grind your inner ambitions into dust because they don’t want to lose you. You must choose. Rock bottom is called that for a reason, and it is painfully familiar to many of the world’s happiest people. If you are sinking lower and lower into the abyss of self-destruction, it may be a sign that you’re trying to leave the womb of unconsciousness that has so many of us trapped. You can wait till you achieve rock

OME HAVE CALLED ignorance bliss. But if you actually look into it, there is an incredible cost and consequence to ignorance; and there is no free ride for anyone. There is also a huge range of things both physical, emotional, and metaphysical we can be ignorant of, each with their corresponding consequences.

On a Physical Level On a physical level, living a life of being ignorant of where our food comes from, its nutritional value, what is in vaccines, buying endless goods as if they come out of thin air, the existence of chemtrails, etc., means that not only do we cause suffering to animals, the planet, fellow human beings, and future generations, but also that we are subjected to poisoning, carcinogens, and chemicals even in our food, water, and air that causes us sickness, suffering, and premature death. Being ignorant of the hidden networks of shadow governments, of the worldwide banking system and how it works, of the real causes of many wars etc., means that we become its complicit supporters—perpetuating a system that enslaves us through debt where the individual is no longer the citizen of a country but the collateral of banks. People work their whole lives to pay off vast bank mortgages and debts of one kind or another in an endless trap of wealth harvesting for those who pull the strings in the economic system. As mega corporations churn out a stream of mass produced throw-away goods from the precious resources of the earth using what is effectively slave labor in exploited countries, people work for hours and hours a day just to have the passing pleasure of the next toy or gadget that soon breaks and becomes redundant, which they have become utterly

Ignorance is not free convinced they must have, leaving vast piles of toxic rubbish in their wake. This cycle of raping and pillage is causing massive amounts of suffering whether we see it or not, and is feeding into a system of insanity that is destroying our planet.

On an Emotional Level But ignorance is not just in relation to the things around us, it continues in relation to ourselves too, and it’s our inner life that creates the outer world we live in. On an emotional level, being ignorant of our own inner deficiencies, of our aggression, prejudices, bigotry, lethargy, apathy, arrogance, greed and perversions etc., means that those around us suffer their consequences. Our children, partners, friends, and family, for example, suffer the untoward negative vibrations from our angry thoughts and hurtful words. These deficiencies are ultimately the root cause of much of the suffering in our lives and the world. Imagine for a moment that we were all magically free of greed—we would instead become a humanity that cares for the welfare of others rather than the next self-indulgent pleasure that comes at the expense of others. But not only do others suffer the consequences of our selfishness; we too suffer from a lack of inner peace and love. When we are angry, where is inner peace? When we are constantly thinking about ourselves, where is the love? The lack of these higher feelings is one cost, but the path that greed and anger takes us on is yet another. From anger for

example, we can lose relationships, our health, our opportunities, and live in a self-imposed inner poverty despite whatever material wealth may surround us (albeit for a passing time). If we are ignorant of them, these negative inner states then determine the course our life takes beyond our knowledge, affecting our decisions, our actions, and thus what we spend our life doing.

On a Spiritual Level And then there is the ignorance of wider realities beyond our physical senses. For many it seems so inconsequential to laugh it off and say it doesn’t exist, but for the thousands of survivors of near-death experiences (NDEs), realities beyond the material plane are no joke. It’s so easy for people to rubbish religious texts, mystical experiences, and spiritual knowledge, and feel a sense of intellectual superiority since metaphysical things cannot easily be tested or demonstrated through physical means. It takes exploration of non-physical reality via metaphysical means to know about the non-physical, and that has always required an individual discipline of inner practice and exploration. It’s easy to spend vast amounts of one’s life playing games and watching entertainments, but what a waste to spend so much free time like that whilst giving no time to the exploration and understanding of the process and purpose of life, whether non-physical dimensions of life exist, what we have come here to do, and whether what is written about in

sacred texts is real or not. If we take our life as something that exists beyond physical reality and death, then the consequences of ignorance become far greater than we can even imagine. Being ignorant of something is to be a victim of it; at the end of the day, we are the ones who suffer. Ultimately every effect in our life and the world has its cause, and to be ignorant of the cause is to continuously suffer through what can sometimes be devastating effects without being able to break free of them. One of the things knowledge does is to give the ability to make choices about our destiny based on a wider understanding of reality. So it’s important to be informed about our physical world, about ourselves, and also about non-physical realities to be able to create the potentially wonderful consequences that action based on the knowledge of wider realities brings.

The Mother Of All Antioxidants

By Joe Martino

www.collective-evolution.com

W

E HAVE ALL heard of antioxidants, but has anyone heard of the mother of all antioxidants? One that is the secret to preventing cancer, heart disease, aging, neurological issues, and more? This single antioxidant has been studied in great depth yet most of us know nothing about it, and many doctors have no idea how to address the epidemic of its deficiency in humans. We are of course talking about glutathione (pronounced “gloota-thigh-own”). This is a powerful detoxifier and immunity booster and is crucial to a healthy life. Although the body does make some of its own glutathione, poor food quality, pollution, toxic environments, stress, infections, and radiation are all depleting it from our bodies.

What is Glutathione? Glutathione is a simple molecule produced naturally in the body at all times. It’s a combination of three building blocks of protein or amino acids — cysteine, glycine, and glutamine. The best part about glutathione is that is contains sulfur chemical groups that work to trap all the bad things in our body, like free radicals and toxins such as mercury and heavy metals, and then flush them out. This is especially important in

our current world of heavy metal bombardment.

Where Can You Get Glutathione? The body makes it, but it’s often not enough in our strenuous environment. This is another big issue with our diets. We consume a lot of junk, meat, dairy, and processed foods, items that have been clinically proven to be the number one causes of heart disease and illness, yet we consume them in huge quantities. The key is to limit these and

S IT POSSIBLE that a thread of unity ties together even the most disparate of forces? Are we actually that different from those who we think are our mortal enemies? Is it possible that all humanity shares one collective unconscious mind? These are important questions, because the old weapon of ‘divide and conquer’ is exercising an almost total paralysis over society at this time. Nothing new, you might say, but the remorseless sowing of the seeds of division has once again become a key weapon in whipping up factions to accept ‘war’ as the only, and inevitable end point. But this war cry can only work if and when we fall prey to the corrosive indoctrination that accompanies the rhetoric of ‘us and them’. Wars would not happen if the fuel for vindictive finger pointing was no longer so easily assimilated into our everyday lives. Now some might say that what’s going on now is beyond such logic – that it’s a whole other dimension of insanity that’s driving the apocalyptic state of affairs on this planet. That can be a persuasive argument. However, it would be most unwise to leave ourselves out of the picture, as though we were mere observers and not players. For all that happens ‘out there’ has its seed in something that happens ‘in here’. Events could and would be different if we could learn to recognize the symptoms of division both within ourselves and in our interactions with others. So how do we best get a handle on this seemingly pervasive human weakness for ‘us and them’, which appears so open to exploitation by those who prosper from

Us and Them? As Inside – So Outside

inciting faction and discord? The first response that I try to turn to when feeling irritably vulnerable to accusing someone of having wronged me is what the French call ‘mettre en place’ – put yourself in the other’s place. If one can master this technique, it gives the opportunity to have a look at what we are about to do or say, as though we ourselves were at the receiving end of it. Now, when one gets a dose of one’s own accusatory medicine it can have a quite dramatic affect! “Oops, better not launch into that one – it’s bound to provoke an equal or likely even stronger reaction.” A reaction likely to be based more on defensiveness or anger than on reasoned argument based upon true feelings. For a ‘reasoned argument based on true feelings’ should be the goal of all dialogue, of all intercourse. And if it were, we wouldn’t have war, because war starts with, and in, us. Our war-state is unavoidable so long as we remain divided against ourselves. So long as the way we interact with others is clouded by egotistical and selfish concerns, rather than illuminated by reasoned and considered responses. Now, a ‘reasoned’ response demands a pause. A reflective moment or two to take-in just exactly what it is that’s going on. And in the space created by that reflective pause, we are able to reorder our emotion-

al self. We are able to catch the moment and slow things down. Take a look in the mirror. Or stand in the shoes of the other party and consider just what we look/ sound like to them. Nine times out of ten, neither the accuser nor the accused has reflected for even one moment, on what is driving the emotional exchange. So unless one of the participants (and ideally both) can step back and establish this reflective space – this non-partisan territory – then all too often things run quickly out of control. A blood rush leads to an irrational tit for tat exchange, which in turn creates further disharmony and a lingering sense of suspicion. This suspicion in turn, becomes a fecund breeding ground for differences to become hard wired and seemingly irreconcilable. Irreconcilable difference is a stones throw away from a war-state. We know our world is teetering on the brink of major conflict. We feel disempowered by the sheer scale of the engineered divisions that stand behind this dire state of affairs. It is not an easy predicament for any of us to cope with. Yet the source of the insanity that is so readily on display on the global stage is not a far cry from that listless state of irritation and edginess that manifests within all of us when we feel cornered or unreasonably provoked. How can we respond to the threat of war when we have not yet come to grips with our own unconscious reactionary responses

within our day-to-day life concerns, let alone when faced with the irascible volatility of a planet on the edge of global conflict? That ‘pause’, which I recommended in order to set our house in order, is the key. It’s a technique employed by the most seasoned diplomats when faced with the need to diffuse and temper potentially dangerous accusation and aggression. But to deal with the world scale madness of today, such defusing skill needs to be magnified, deepened and made manifest as an expression of profound intent: Intent to uncover lies and falsity and to manifest truth, whatever the cost. For this is the only genuine antidote to the slippery slide into war. Truth emerges out of inner peace. But such ‘peace’ is by no means passive; it is burning with conviction, determination and a rock hard steadfastness of intent. The will to bring this world through – however badly scarred – and bring it to life once again, like the smile that lights up and transforms a baby’s once forlorn face. Why else are we here, if not to achieve mission impossible? There is a collective unconscious. It is (slowly and quickly) awakening and transforming into a collective consciousness. It is happening mostly on unseen levels, yet it can be felt. Anyone can feel it, but not everyone will. That is because it is a seriously inconvenient truth for those whose wills are obdurately directed elsewhere. Towards the absolute denial of their reason to be, and then towards the annihilation of that which attempts to remind them. Yet screaming murder at those trapped souls will do nothing to ameliorate their fate or ours. For so long as we remain caught in a world of ‘us and them’ we are unable to achieve the breadth of vision

ITHIN 20 YEARS, according to top Artificial Intelligence (AI) researchers, nearly half of all jobs currently occupied by humans will be automated by computers or robots. What purpose will these formerly employed individuals fulfill? The elite of society have been discussing this epic moment for decades. In April of 2000, Bill Joy, co-founder of Sun Microsystems, wrote an article for Wired magazine called “Why the future doesn’t need us.” The premise of the article revolves around the potential for humans to become obsolete. Joy’s work begins by describing his experience of reading a portion of Unabomber Theodore Kaczynski’s manifesto. Kaczynski targeted and injured computer scientist David Gelernter, one of Bill Joy’s friends. To his dismay, Joy had to agree with Kaczynski in his outlook. Kaczynski’s manifesto describes a dystopic future in which a ruthless elite eradicates useless humans in the wake of the technological revolution. In an alternate scenario the elite are “good shepherds” that make sure “…everyone’s physical needs are satisfied, that all children are raised under psychologically hygienic conditions, that everyone has a wholesome hobby to keep him busy… These engineered human beings may be happy in such a society, but they will most certainly not be free. They will have been reduced to the status of domestic animals,” writes Kaczynski. In the interim between the robotic takeover and our potential extinction, our lives as human beings will be greatly impacted. The industrial revolution triggered similar apprehension with the threat of mechanical automation. This new revolution is altering the very genetic code of humanity, re-wiring our brains, and creating new forms of life unknown to history. Technology has enabled our world to be digi-

from the

Before Our Brains are Totally Rewired tally connected 24/7. Tele-medicine will allow doctors to remotely monitor patients’ health at home using a system of sensors, including your toilet. Yet what of the human element? We are in an age of seeming connection, but are we actually entering an age of disconnection? Recent news headlines seem to suggest this may be the case. Our social interactions are changing dramatically due to the prevalence of technology. Our brains are being literally re-wired. Human instincts are being twisted. Our drive to connect with others still exists, but it is directed into artificial settings. Technology is augmenting – and may eventually replace – parts of our humanity that have helped us to survive and thrive for ages. Will we be fully domesticated by our technology? One thing is certain: The idea of being human is about to change dramatically in the digital hybrid age we are entering.

Social Media: Not So Social? Social media is a great way to stay connected with your friends online. But how do our digital lives impact our real ones? Researchers at the University of Benedictine at Mesa, Arizona found that Facebook users exhibited signs of anxiety in face-to-face meetings with people they “met” online. The Daily Mail reported recently,

“The current tendency for people to use Facebook to ‘lurk’ or ‘creep’ on other people’s profiles raised the question of what such activities do to change later face-to-face interactions, particularly among the socially anxious,” explained the researchers. To test this theory, researchers from the University of Benedictine at Mesa, led by Shannon Rauch, fitted 26 female students with electrodes that measure galvanic skin response (GSR). These electrodes are used to measure changes in physiological arousal. Individuals who “lurked” on the person they later physically met recorded a higher amount of anxiety. How else are we being impacted upon by “social” media? We usually associate 16th birthdays with driver’s licenses and sneaking off for a drive. For newer generations, this is no longer the case. In the United States, the number of teens with driver’s licenses is dropping dramatically. In 1983, 69% of 17 year olds had a license. In 2010, only 46% of 17 year olds had one [W.T. Editor’s Note: A similar statistic in Australia’s largest state NSW: in 1991, 79% of young people aged 20-24 held a license; by 2008 the figure had dropped to 51%]. A 19 year old told the Washington Post that, “If I couldn’t get a ride to see my friend who lives a town over… I could talk on IM or

Skype.” New York public radio reported on the dropping number of teen drivers in 2012. Young listeners responded to the question of why they are not driving, or driving less. Poor economic conditions were cited. Some said they are simply “going green” in response to global warming. One said, “I drive less because I have become a couch potato. The Internet takes me anywhere I want to go. And services like Netflix provide entertainment at the touch of a button. It’s also a lot more affordable.” Krystine Batcho, a professor of psychology at Lemoyne College, told CBS news recently that social media is causing a “distancing phenomenon” among users. “The greater the social media use over time, the life satisfaction decreases,” Batcho said. Batcho also pointed out that young people are not developing the language of face-to-face communication. Outside of the impact on their personal lives, Facebook users are in fact helping to create artificial intelligence systems when they share their information online. These selflearning systems are expanding more every day as more information is posted. The CEO of Digital Sky Technologies, a Russian venture capital company, invested heavily in Facebook in 2010, saying that it would be “…one of the early platforms for artificial intelligence sometime in the next 10 years.” Your life and vitality are literally being used up to create a real life matrix. As James Bamford reported for NOVA in 2009, the US National Security Agency (NSA) has been developing – and are likely now actively using – what whistleblowers have called “HAL.” It is an artificial intelligence that taps into phone calls, cell phone geolocation, emails, and you guessed it, Facebook. The “Digital Now” “The self as we once knew it has ceased to exist. An abstract digital universe is now a part of our identity.” – Abha Dawesar As the world around us crumbles, will we be trapped in a state of complacency so long as we are still “connected”? The perception of contentment and the feeling that “everything is O.K.” is more and more tied to the ability to log on to the web, browse our Facebook feeds, and keep up to date on a never ending stream of data. Digital technology and social media have altered our identities and our perception of the world. Indian novelist Abha Dawesar discussed this issue in a 2013 TED Talk. The digital now “…isn’t the now of a shooting pain in your foot or the second you bite into a pastry or the three hours you lose yourself in a great book. This now bears very little physical or psychological reference to our own state,” said Dawesar. The Internet has expanded our awareness of global issues, and allowed millions of like-minded people to communicate. This is undoubtedly a positive consequence of technology. This same technology can also be profoundly disconnecting. The digital world has created another layer on top of our existing reality. It has mapped our streets, profiled our tastes, and wired everyday objects into the Internet cloud. Google Glass and augmented reality technology allow individuals to interface with this digital reality layered on top of the physical world. Eventually an artificial lens will allow us to view this augmented reality right before our eyes. Are we fully present when we are absorbed in our smart phones? Many of us have seen people walking obliviously while texting on their phones. How many moments of potential connection with other people are we missing? More and more people are investing more time in creating and managing online identities while real-world ones are neglected. There are numerous companies that offer “online identity management” services. For those who want to remain anonymous, other services offer to erase you from the web. In this age of disconnection, the “digital now” is disconnected from our present lives. It is a distraction, but an especially enticing one. It calls us back even when part of us resists. As we are finding out, the devices that deliver digital content may be altering our brains.

Digital Dementia: Outsourcing Human Memory Our smart devices capture the moment for us. Researchers are finding that due to the dependence on electronic gadgets, we are no longer remembering things themselves. Instead, we remember where to find them. We use Google to find the answer. Our phone has the information we need. Human memory is in fact being outsourced. Will our brains adapt to this new technology in a way that we no longer need to remember people, places and things like we used to? This phenomenon has become a recognized issue by scientists in South Korea, who have named it “digital dementia.” South Koreans are heavy technology users who are quick to pick up new gadgets. This makes the population a “canary in the coal-mine” for detecting hazards to humanity posed by technology. In 2011 scientists from Columbia University, Harvard, and Wisconsin University conducted a study on how human memory is impacted by Internet use. Two groups were

Page 22

given information to type into a computer. One was told that the information would be saved into the computer. The other group believed the information would be erased. As the New York Times reports, “The subjects were significantly more likely to remember information if they thought they would not be able to find it later. ‘Participants did not make the effort to remember when they thought they could later look up the trivia statement they had read’, the authors write.” Wearable technology like Google Glass will record our lives in every detail. Sleep patterns, eating habits, social connections and more will be recorded. Will our entire lives be outsourced? Our ‘friends’ are floating in the Internet cloud. What happens when the grid goes down and the technology we have become dependent on to manage our lives is no longer there? Will we still know who we are? Our internal lives are intimately connected with vivid memories. Increasingly, our online identities are taking precedence over our realworld ones. According to Ray Kurzweil, Google’s top technology engineer, this problem could eventually be “solved” by connecting our brains to the Internet cloud. This could be accomplished using devices “…the size of blood cells… we’ll be able to send them inside our brain through the capillaries, and basically connect up our brain to the cloud,” Kurzweil says.

Unplug From The Matrix Just as power vacuums develop when super-powers collapse, there is a power vacuum that forms when you leave the helm of your mind, body and spirit. You will be filled by other people’s agendas and fall victim to circumstance. In this state you will function as an unknowing, unconscious biological android living out someone else’s scripts. Unplug from the matrix and take back your consciousness. In an ae of rising tyranny we need to be alert, discerning and clear-eyed. The technological grid that is infiltrating our lives has the potential to cut us off from ourselves and the wider world, while at the same time giving the illusion of connection. Paradoxically, technology is assisting in the process of becoming aware of this situation. The Washington Post published a startling article in 2008 titled “Washington’s Future, a History.” The article looked into the future of America, with a focus on Washington D.C. Multiple experts in the fields of economics, technology and politics contributed to the piece. It described a high tech society in which “small scale” terror attacks and angry rioters plague the streets while implantable ID chips allow government workers to pass through checkpoints. As the outside world crumbles, “Google Life Services” replace big box stores and malls long abandoned. They provide people with prepackaged experiences of outdoor activities and life experiences. The Post article speculates that ultimately there will be a revolution against these trends. They foresee a “paper nostalgia movement” that encourages people to write letters and neighbourhood newsletters after the postal service is disbanded. The fictional characters in the piece reflect on the old days of “…simple pleasures of lingering over meals or discovering some new path through the woods.” The individuals engaging in this revolution of true connection are seen as “political or religious extremists” because of their desire to unplug. In 2010 the United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defense released a document titled Global Strategic Trends – Out to 2040. By 2040 – and likely before then – many futurists and scientists are projecting that technology will have advanced exponentially, bringing the much anticipated ‘singularity’ closer to reality. The Ministry of Defense hints at some of these possible developments, including the

emergence of an “Internet of things,” radical life extension technology, and surveillance of personnel via wireless mood-sensing devices. Ultimately, due to pervasive technology in the environment, it may become difficult to “turn the outside world off.” The document states: “… Even amongst those who make an explicit lifestyle choice to remain detached [from the technology grid], choosing to be disconnected may be considered suspicious behaviour.” We need a revolution of true connection before we get to the point of no return.

In the end, we all play our part in hastening the madness of war, unless or until we can dissolve the imaginary, deeply toxic dividing lines that set man against man, country against country, belief against belief. The division lines are actually an illusion. An illusion made to feel real by the fear and falsity that builds-up brittle walls of concrete instead of dissolving into flowing rivers of empathy. vanquished and consigned to the annals of history. At this time of unmitigated warmongering and provocation, it’s vital that we redouble our efforts to come together, both internally and externally, so as to expose that which feeds on the cancer of ‘divide and conquer’ – on the falsity of ‘us and them’. Those crazed forces that are willing to terminate life on Earth, just for the sake of an insatiable ego. Let’s remember that we are not actually hermetically sealed from that which appears to be alien to our own emotional condition. For in the end, there is no us and them. There is only us.

and dry skin.” (8) It can also reduce the risk of certain types of cancer, and some people swear by cancer-curing cannabis oil. “Hemp contains lots of plant sterols and antioxidants that can help reduce risk of colon, breast and prostate cancers.” (9) Diabetics would benefit from eating hemp seeds, because they help control sugar levels. “Hemp seeds are also helpful if you are at risk of diabetes, or are diabetic, as they can control your sugar levels. This is mainly due to its healthy fats that help in the quick absorption of glucose from the bloodstream and its conversion into energy. Therefore, your sweet cravings will decrease, and energy levels will increase. Lastly, you can also add hemp seeds to your smoothies, sprinkle them in salads and cereals, or substitute them for nuts in your baking. They are also best for sprouting, for making refreshing hemp seed milk or to be ground into a meal.” (10) Hemp’s numerous health benefits might have you wondering why it’s illegal, and more people than ever are questioning why the government forbids its cultivation. A little bit of research makes it clear that cannabis and hemp are illegal for corrupt and dishonest reasons. Now that we’re collectively realizing this and our governments are at least somewhat willing to change the laws, we can finally admit the hypocrisy behind them and take cannabis and hemp seriously. (Strange how that works. Ed.) Most people don’t know that wealthy businessmen with investments in resources like cotton and timber were responsible for making cannabis and hemp illegal. They realized early on that hemp, with all of its industrial benefits, would put them out of business. They didn’t want any competition, because their businesses were already well established thanks to the resources hemp would blow out of the water. Thus, draconian laws were enacted so the rich could get richer while the average person is thrown in jail for growing or using a plant that’s clearly meant to help mankind. Fortunately, the laws are slowly changing as people look past the propaganda and discover the benefits of cannabis and hemp, and I think the cannabis plant will become much more important to our society in the next decade. We’re already realizing how silly it is to demonize cannabis when its positive uses are obvious, and this plant is finally being given its day in the sun. So before you reject it, consider that it isn’t the devilish weed we’ve been taught to fear. It’s more of a savior, but we won’t know what it can do for us until we open up to it. Hopefully, more people will open up as cannabis legalization picks up pace and farmers start to succeed in demanding the right to grow industrial hemp without prosecution. Everyone should be able to utilize this plant, because it has everything detailed above (and more) to offer a society that’s on the brink of destruction and transformation. Cannabis and hemp can help us mend the damage we’ve done to the planet, but only if we let them.

3. Your Relationships are Changing, and Not Necessarily for the Better When we first meet a person we establish a subconscious relationship with them that will furthermore determine our role in each other’s lives. When you meet a teacher, you understand immediately your position as their student, and behave accordingly. When you meet a lover for the first time, you know instinctively what this person’s role is to be in your life. ‘Role locks,’ as they are called, are broken when you outgrow yourself and change beyond the expectations of others, and the people in your life will notice this in a nearly imperceptible, energetic way, if not outright. You might see that relationships with friends are unusually uncomfortable, you might feel like you are outgrowing an old mentor, or you might find yourself acting dangerously overconfident around your boss. Change typically makes people uncomfortable, and if your relationships seem to be strained or uneasy, it is a clue that some shifts within you are being felt by those in your life. Subtle communication does not lie.

4. What Use to Amuse No Longer Satisfies Entertainment is a distraction from reality, an escape, and your familiar escapes no longer satiate. More attention is needed for yourself, and the cultural ritual of always being entertained is now useless to your personal progress. It becomes obvious that many people intentionally distract themselves from life, and you feel like you’re missing out on something important when doing many of the things you’ve always done before. It no longer matters who has the most toys, and the silly things that people do for

cannabidiol (CBD) 75 mg/day or CBD 300 mg/day. Increases in well-being and quality of life were observed in the 300 mg/day groups versus the placebo groups. The researchers hypothesized that these improvements may have been due to cannabidiol’s “anxiolytic,” “antidepressant,” “anti-psychotic,” and “sedative” properties. These results, taken together with the results from the animal models of PD, indicate that CBD may provide a drug alternative in PD patients. Additionally, a new study published in Toxicology In Vitro titled,”The neuroprotection of cannabidiol against MPP+-induced toxicity in PC12 cells involves trkA receptors, upregulation of axonal and synaptic proteins, neuritogenesis, and might be relevant to Parkinson’s disease,” makes the case for using cannabidiol in PD even more compelling by helping to illuminate some of the molecular mechanisms beneath its benefits. The study found that cannabidiol protects against the neurotoxin known as MPP(+), which is widely believed to be responsible for the damage to the dopamine-

In this process, the truest things in your life will emerge from the clutter of your life and be seen for what and who they really are. Good friends will endure, but that and those who cannot support and empower your progress will fade into the background.

5. You Begin to See and Understand How Fabricated Consensus Reality Is Your perception of the world is deepening and the reality machine is no longer capable of fooling you. Pop culture is so obviously more contrived and spiritually debilitating than ever. The so-called ‘news‘ is recognized as the theatre of the absurd that it is. Conformity is easy to spot, especially in those who are trying hardest not to conform. The lies of the government and the war machine are easily decoded, and the opinion leaders and sell-outs that dominate the media are quickly recognized as charlatans who only work to manufacture consent for the oligarchy. Many ‘normal’ aspects of modern life are revealed to you as elaborate traps designed to drain you. Just grand illusions that occupy your attention and energy, almost comical in their overtures at you. None of this impresses any longer, but the ridiculousness of it all serves a high purpose, to drive you inward towards the discovery of the real presence of spirit in

producing cells in the substania nigra of Parkison’s patients, by preventing neuronal cell death and inducing neuritogenesis (a neuro-regenerative process for repairing damaged neurons). This mechanism was found to be independent of the neural growth factor (NGF) pathway, even though it involves NGF receptors. Cannabidiol was also found to increase the expression of axonal and synaptic proteins. The study concluded that CBD’s neuroprotective properties might be of benefit to Parkinson’s disease patients. For additional research on how cannabis can contribute to mitigating neurodegenerative diseases read our article, “Marijuana Compound Found Superior To Drugs For Alzheimer’s,” and peruse the cannabis research database on GreenMedInfo.com. Also, for an extensive set of data on natural interventions for Parkinson’s disease, view our database on the topic: Parkinson’s disease research. In Conclusion Our culture celebrates death and destruction over evolution and adaptation, and so it is our revolutionary task to overcome this and evolve beyond the low expectations of a culture in decline. This one is arguably the most painful. The death of the ego is no walk in the park. It is more like a walk through a dark night of the soul surrounded by an angry abyss that’s really just the small-minded version of you not wanting to lose what it feels is the essence of you: your ego. But the ego is not the essence of you, and it never was. The real you is an interdependent cosmic force, an interconnected frequency, a unified cosmic agent going through the motions of being a mind-body-soul. “But the worst enemy you can meet will always be yourself; you lie in wait for yourself in caverns and forests. Lonely one, you are going the way to yourself! And your way goes past yourself, and past your seven devils! You will be a heretic to yourself and witch and soothsayer and fool and doubter and unholy one and villain. You must be ready to burn yourself in your own flame: how could you become new, if you had not first become ashes?” –Friedrich Nietzsche Ego annihilation leads to the ashes from which the phoenix of the soul rises. But first there must be descent. There must be a tearing part, a burning down, a sacred disintegration. But the task of severance is repentance. It speaks the language of vicissitude. It howls inside you like old night. It moves through you like fresh smoke. It is the blood of a full moon’s howl. It is a cruel wheel spinning its cycle of animal angst, of species-crimson. It is in this moment. Here, at the crux of the cross, at the knot on the wood, where the crooked trees mock your martyrdom and all your ancestors can smell the scent of your heart’s full blossom, blinking in and out of the ether, screaming at you, “It is time! There

Page 24

may not be another life to love.” And so you descend. And so you cross the Rubicon of the self, bridging the gap between Man and Over-man above the Existential Black Hole. And so you lose yourself in the blue smoke, in the loose shadows. You scream out like Yin. Your fists clinch like Yang. The fish feed on their tails. The snakes do the same. It’s like heaven and hell in your body. People can smell the animal in you, the wild-self coming to life. Death hums a eulogy in the trees, and you die a small death: the exulting death of your ego. And then you’re quiet as a doll, vulnerable, astonished, and cataleptic from the fall. But now you’re a force of nature first, a person second. And the Earth has finally discovered its salvation: the awakened human soul.

4. Fearless Forgiveness

“In conclusion, there is no conclusion. Things will go on as they always have, getting weirder all the time.” –Robert Anton Wilson

Fearless forgiveness is scary because it is uncomfortable on an ontological level. It’s both a tearing down of the walls that protect us from the world and an unlocking of the prison door of our expectations. When we tear down the walls, fear is paramount and must be faced, and that can be dreadfully uncomfortable. But like Farrah Gray said, “Comfort is the enemy of achievement.” So it behooves us to get uncomfortable. Not unlike Neo waking up from the Matrix for the first time, when we unlock the door to our prison, the way the world truly is despite us, and in spite of our expectations and worldview, becomes the harsh Desert of the Real, which only we can face and resolve for ourselves. But at least now we have the double-edged sword of fearless forgiveness to cut through all the red tape. Forgiveness hurts because it is the ultimate letting go. It’s a deep, visceral acceptance of the way things are, regardless of our need for things to be a certain way. It’s a decisive shedding of the burden of what we cannot control. Tantamount to Buddhist

non-attachment, fearless forgiveness is a reckoning of existential proportions that turns the tables on the concept of control itself. It gives us permission to authentically and sincerely go with the flow. With fearless forgiveness it suddenly becomes okay that the game of life is “rigged,” because our fearlessness is a willingness to transform whatever negative, counterproductive, unhealthy shit gets thrown at us into something positive, progressive, and healthy. And our forgiveness is a giant sigh saying, “It’s okay.” It gives us the insurmountable courage to transform demons into diamonds, fear into courage, anger into strength, and disdain into compassion. Fearless forgiveness is allowing ourselves to be intimate with the cosmos as it truly exists. Like Dōgen said, “Enlightenment is intimacy with all things.” And intimacy with all things is just as likely to hurt, as it is to feel good. But that is perfectly okay. It gives us permission to take the good with the bad, the unhealthy with the healthy, and the immoral with the moral. And then it gives us the courage to transform it all into our own amazing thing: art, adventure, love. In the end, enlightenment is scary and painful, but it is so amazingly rewarding that it doesn’t even matter. As Camus said, “Life should be lived to the point of tears.” We must ride the fine-line between ecstasy and misery in order to enjoy the great mystery. Question thyself, overcome thyself, forgive thyself, then rebirth thyself, ad infinitum, and the path toward enlightenment shall not elude you. Gary ‘Z’ McGee, a former Navy Intelligence Specialist turned philosopher, is the author of Birthday Suit of God and The Looking Glass Man. His works are inspired by the great philosophers of the ages and his wide-awake view of the modern world.

is used widely by politicians and the media. Media Brainwashing — News simply repeats the same taglines & phrases OVER and OVER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jH8dejYGa5A The same tactics are used in any subject they deem does not fit into the government’s agenda. Divide and conquer tactics have been used by empires for thousands of years. The media does this brilliantly by making people divided and suspicious of each other. We are forced inwards to the point of not even knowing our neighbours’ names. This is why our communities are failing. One big keyword used is “immigration”. Everything is immigrants’ fault - this is yet another tactic called misdirection where they focus on one area. Divide opinion. While our attention is focused there the game pieces are being moved elsewhere. This is only scratching the surface. The same patterns can be seen in all areas they control.

Why should we not be forced to work? I believe every human being on this planet is equal and is entitled to a life. Every human should have a right to life, and this means everything they need to survive. Everyone should have a basic wage (not a benefit) but a living wage that is given to everyone at birth. This basic wage should cover all the costs of life, including food, water, housing and clothing. No one should be forced to work and any work should be on a volunteer basis. If the wealth were divided up equally around the world, this would be easy to achieve.

How would anything get done? Humans are lazy, right? With the media, monetary and central control removed from focus we would naturally move to a community-based structure. We would need to converse with our fellow neighbours to survive, and naturally trust would grow and a family environment would blossom. Health would improve; crime would fall, as everyone’s needs would be met. With time to live life and care for others, we would have time to volunteer skills to the community. Bartering could come into effect. I will fix your taps if you fix my garden fence etc. For those who do not have any skills or may be disabled, people would still volunteer to help them in a caring community. Humans are very kind, loving and helpful by nature. If we see someone fall in the street, our natural reaction is to go and help. When I have a few weeks off work, I always look forward to returning to something to do. To much time off is boring and, I believe, we would all do our best if we were rewarded in the community for our efforts even if it is just benefiting from the knowing that we have contributed to the whole. Local growing projects and a sense of pride will come back into the community. Cooperation and creativity are given room to flourish. Within this environment, new ideas could flow. We need to change our way of thinking in order to change our world dramatically. “You cannot solve a problem from the same consciousness that created it. You must learn to see the world anew.” – Albert Einstein Watch this great Raw Footage interview with Michael Tellinger on the origins of humans: https://www.youtube. com/watch?v=yHu1x0k8T-0 This is how life was supposed to be. habits. Every tomorrow that we wake up is then determined by our nature and character. The human genome is packed with at least four million gene switches that reside in bits of DNA that once were dismissed as “junk” but it turns out that so-called junk DNA plays critical roles in controlling how cells, organs and other tissues behave. The discovery, considered a major medical and scientific breakthrough, has enormous implications for human health and consciousness because many complex diseases appear to be caused by tiny changes in hundreds of gene switches. As scientists delved into the “junk” — parts of the DNA that are not actual genes containing instructions for proteins— they discovered a complex system that controls genes. At least 80 percent of this DNA is active and needed. Another 15-17 percent has higher functions scientists are still decoding. The Russian biophysicist and molecular biologist Pjotr Garjajev and his colleagues also explored the vibrational behavior of the DNA. The bottom line was: “Living chromosomes function just like solitonic/ holographic computers using the endogenous DNA laser radiation.” This means that they managed for example to modulate certain frequency patterns onto a laser ray and with it influenced the DNA frequency and thus the genetic information itself. Since the basic structure of DNA-alkaline pairs and of language (as explained earlier) is of the same structure, no DNA decoding is necessary. This finally and scientifically explains why affirmations, autogenous training, hypnosis and the like can have such strong effects on humans and their bodies. It is entirely normal and natural for our DNA to react to language. While western researchers cut single genes from the DNA strands and insert them elsewhere, the Russians enthusiastically worked on devices that can influence the cellular metabolism through suitable modulated radio and light frequencies and thus repair genetic defects.

Physical Pain Is A Warning Sign of Emotional Trauma Often, physical pain functions to warn a person that there is still emotional work to be done, and it can also be a sign of unresolved trauma in the nervous system. Even if one has grieved and processed the emotional impact of a trauma, the nervous

occur. To support nerve and brain function we can look to herbs like Skullcap, Passionflower, Ginkgo, Gotu Kola, Lemon Verbena, Holy basil, Mucuna, and Lion’s Maine. v EMOTIONAL Often people battle the blues and other tough emotions during the winter months. See this as an opportunity to look at your commitment to selfnourishment. At this time, feelings of emptiness, loneliness and isolation are easy to fall into, and understandably as the elements outside are much less hospitable than other seasons. In Traditional Chinese Medicine philosophy, winter holds the emotion of fear. This is the base state behind many of our hardest to deal with feelings. When we start

system might still unwittingly be in survival mode. Maggie Phillips, author of Reversing Chronic Pain, writes: “Whether or not trauma was connected to the event or condition that originated their pain, having a chronic pain condition is traumatizing in and of itself.” Each body area has a language as to what the organs do, the muscles, the nerves, etc. When a condition occurs in the body in a localized area, it’s to help us discover what we might need to change in order to keep “homeostasis” in our emotions, mental reasoning, and spiritual living. Depending on whether we are happy, sad or angry, we have physiological sensations that are located in different areas of the body. We overlook this reality from one day to the next (the famous “lump in the breast” generated by anxiety, the feeling of warmth that pervades our face and our cheeks particularly when we feel the shame...), and do not consciously realize how much the location of these body areas activated by our emotions and how they vary considerably depending on the nature of the emotion. In a work published in the journal Proceedings of The National Academy of Sciences under the title “Bodily maps of emotions”, Finnish scientists, for the first time, mapped areas of the body activated according to each emotion (happiness, sadness, anger, etc.). The researchers proposed that emotions represented in the somatosensory system are culturally universal categorical somatotopic maps. Perception of these emotion-triggered bodily changes may play a key role in generating consciously felt emotions.

greater life expectancy has come at an enormous cost in the quality of life of our elders, for they are suffering with more pain and greater disability than ever before in last 15 years of life. What controls pain is thought and our perception of what it is we feel. Because we are not taught the importance and power of thought, we have never consciously been in control of them, with the result that when unpleasant things enter our life, we do not realize the connection between the thought-vibration and the effect it has on us. Uplifting thoughts allow us to elevate our consciousness and awareness; non-inspiring thoughts tend to drag us down. It should come as no surprise to anyone that every part of our physical body vibrates at a precise frequency. Thoughts that are not in harmony or in “sync” with our body cause impedance to our health. All organs, all tissues, membranes, glands, cells, vibrate in precise frequencies in a healthy body. All positive, inspiring, loving and kind thoughts are in harmony with those physical vibrations and help to continue to keep the body in perfect health, with the circulation of the blood going to all the necessary parts of the body, with the digestion working perfectly and the body able to correctly and easily eliminate toxins and waste matter, also allowing proper refreshing sleep to the body.

Unify and Harmony Within

The power structure that controls the disease industry understands these concepts very well. That is why from the time we are born, until the time we die, they want to control this emotional energy matrix. From the very first vaccine to the very last dosage of medication on our deathbeds (and everything in between), we have been conditioned to accept that external factors and disease treatments are what can help control our pain and suffering. This is true to a certain extent as we are led down a path to believe that we must suffer and must experience pain to live, so we must then engage in pain coping mechanisms in the form of medications to keep living. It’s just one of the reasons that a

For every effect there is a cause, so when there is enough human intent and energy towards health, love and respect towards our planet and ourselves we will only create a better world and a better life for all people on Earth. Start by loving yourself, who you are and why you are here experiencing this life. It’s not a coincidence. You designed it. So take responsibility for your wonderful creation. If you want to change your experience, send out the message and the universe will respond. To the trained eye of a gardener, the symptom of withering leaves is not a dreadful disease. He recognizes that the dehydrated state of these leaves is but a direct consequence of withdrawn nourishment that they need in order to sustain themselves and the rest of the plant. We must recognize the symptoms of imbalance and dysfunction within ourselves before they even have a chance to produce disease. Disease is the absence of health...darkness is the absence of light. Health is not the absence of disease. Light is not the absence of darkness.

to harness the energy of fear, we begin to recognize our own cobweb of patterns and habits that no longer serve us. The inner sanctuary of winter offers the opportunity to deepen our commitment to self and loved ones through simplifying and slowing down. In this space we can more easily cultivate new rituals instead of repeating habits, and get clear on how we are choosing to show up in the world. The worst thing we can do for emotional growth in the winter is to distract ourselves by overloading our senses with media, social obligations, excessive alcohol and drug use, or a heavy workload. Instead look to create time for hobbies, personal connection, and (S)elf nourishment. Similar to emotional health, our spiritual health can often feel hungry for nourishment in the winter months. This is a time to deeply root our dreams and aspirations. A time to align our choices for

the year, or years to come and get clear on how we are creating purpose and value in our lives. Practices like meditation and reflective writing can help stimulate our winter spiritual cleansing muscles. It is our deepest spiritual work that is ripe for engagement through this slow season. Winter reminds us to look internally rather the externally for the answers to our big questions in life. Once we start to unravel the codes of characteristics and natural flow in ourselves and our surroundings, we see that good health choices can become easy common sense practices; even if they are not all that common these days. There are no hard and fast rules to live a healthy life by, just a basic flow that governs the natural cycles life unfolds in. It is in our highest alignment to accept and work with these cycles, if we are to achieve lasting vitality and harmony in our lives and on our planet.

We Believe We Must Be First Diseased, Suffer and Then Treated To Live

Antioxidant from page 19

eat a lot of fresh, lively foods that provide nutrients and don’t ask the body to perform a mega job to digest. Glutathione production also increases when you exercise, so increasing your activity level will help as well – and is something worth striving for anyway. Breathing and sweating are also great ways to get rid of toxins in the body.

Glutathione Protects Against Chronic Illness What makes glutathione so important and powerful is that it recycles antioxidants. When your body is dealing with free radicals, it is essentially passing them from one molecule to another. They might go from vitamin C to vitamin E to lipoic acid and then to glutathione where they are cooled off. Antioxidants are recycled at this point and the body can then regenerate another glutathione molecule to go back at it again. Glutathione is crucial for helping your immune system fight chronic illness, as it acts as the carrier of toxins out of your body. Like a flytrap, toxins stick to glutathione and they are carried to the bile into the stools and out of the body. Glutathione is also powerful enough that it has been shown to help in the treatment of AIDS greatly. The body is going to get in touch with oxidants and toxins, and the more we can deal with them the better our body will be at staying strong – this is why glutathione is so important.

9 Final Tips Dr. Mark Hyman has given 9 tips to increase your glutathione levels. Check them out! 1. Consume sulfur-rich foods. The main

ones in the diet are garlic, onions and the cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, kale, collards, cabbage, cauliflower, watercress, etc.). 2. Try bioactive whey protein. This is great source of cysteine and the amino acid building blocks for glutathione synthesis. As you know, I am not a big fan of dairy, but this is an exception – with a few warnings. The whey protein MUST be bioactive and made from non-denatured proteins (“denaturing” refers to the breakdown of the normal protein structure). Choose non-pasteurized and nonindustrially produced milk that contains no pesticides, hormones, or antibiotics. Immunocal is a prescription bioactive non-denatured whey protein that is even listed in the Physician’s Desk Reference. 3. Exercise boosts your glutathione levels and thereby helps boost your immune system, improve detoxification, and enhance your body’s own antioxidant defenses. Start slow and build up to 30 minutes a day of vigorous aerobic exercise like walking or jogging, or play various sports. Strength training for 20 minutes 3 times a week is also helpful. One would think it would be easy just to take glutathione as a pill, but the body digests protein – so you wouldn’t get the benefits if you did it this way. However, the production and recycling of glutathione in the body requires many different nutrients and you CAN take these. Here are the main supplements that need to be taken consistently to boost glutathione. Besides taking a multivitamin and fish oil, supporting my glutathione levels with these supplements is the most important thing I do every day for my personal health. 4. N-acetyl-cysteine. This has been used for years to help treat asthma and lung disease and to treat people with life-threatening liver failure from Tylenol overdose. In fact, I first learned about it in medical school while working in the emergency room. It is even given to prevent kidney damage from dyes used during x-ray studies.

5. Alpha lipoic acid. This is a close second to glutathione in importance in our cells and is involved in energy production, blood sugar control, brain health, and detoxification. The body usually makes it, but given all the stresses we are under, we often become depleted. 6. Methylation nutrients (folate and vitamins B6 and B12). These are perhaps the most critical to keep the body producing glutathione. Methylation and the production and recycling of glutathione are the two most important biochemical functions in your body. Take folate (especially in the active form of 5 methyltetrahydrofolate), B6 (in the active form of P5P), and B12 (in the active form of methylcobalamin). 7. Selenium. This important mineral helps the body recycle and produce more glutathione. 8. A family of antioxidants including vitamins C and E (in the form of mixed tocopherols) work together to recycle glutathione. 9. Milk thistle (silymarin) has long been

used in treating liver disease and helps boost glutathione levels.

Qwest 4 Health Service Review By Glennis Taylor

W

E OFTEN HEAR the phrase that the eyes are the gateway to the soul. It implies a mystical depth to a gaze and what lies beyond the gaze. Likewise we are familiar with reference to blood as the River of Life. Both the eyes and blood have held ‘powers’ in civilizations throughout time. Myths and legends in so many cultures have some tie to the once unexplored vistas of the eyes and the blood. We have coined many phrases that are still used today based on these two parts of our anatomy. Cold blooded...hot blooded...it’s in his blood...you can see it in her eyes. As our ability to understand so much more about how the body works grows with incredible leaps forward in technology, we can now explain, to a larger degree, the complicated and intricate nature of vision and the chemical processes that take place within the blood and the eyes. We can define abnormalities and nutritional deficiencies that compromise the functions of these organs.

We perform delicate surgeries and corrective procedures. Science and medicine have made inroads in giving us answers to many of the mysteries that intrigued our forefathers for so long. Outside of the mainstream medical arena, there has developed an alternate medical approach to viewing the health of the body through the eyes and blood. For many years iridology has been used to map the eyes and give us information on how well the body is functioning. Edgar Cayce regularly used iridology to help him understand his patient’s health issues. When something is imbalanced in the body, the problem is reflected in the eyes and a trained iridologist can pinpoint problems that often escape the scrutiny of mainstream medicine. To study the blood, live blood analysis and darkfield microscopy has come a long way in being able to give another view of the health of an individual. The blood tells a story. We can see microbial activity and how well the immune system is functioning. Telltale signs of malabsorbtion and fatty acid issues in the blood help to paint a picture of general health and where some weaknesses

may lie. These are all very helpful diagnostic tools, but as I have recently discovered, there is much more to tell. I had the opportunity for an engaging conversation with John and Diane Blackburn of Qwest 4 Health. At their health clinic of the same name, John and Diane are kept busy in their passion to help people discover and address health issues that may have plagued them for some time. They bring to the patient’s attention some until then undiscovered imbalances and put the puzzle pieces together to give a comprehensive health picture. Using the state of the art tools of iridology, live blood analysis and biofeedback, the Blackburn’s have a wealth of knowledge and understanding to delve into complex cases and connect the dots. They make recommendations regarding lifestyle and nutrition based on their findings. But what intrigued me the most was the in depth study they are applying to both iridology and hematology. What they are discovering goes far beyond the mechanical aspects of the science. It is the quantum realm that presents some amazing and useful insights. Termed quantum hematology and quantum iridology, these give a new and very valuable dimension to their work; offering them a way to glimpse into and understand the subconscious aspects

of the individual. “Blood is the mirror of consciousness” Diane explains. As the blood circulates and bathes every cell in the body, it carries with it energetic information that the cells throughout the body “hear” and respond to. Every thought we think or belief we hold has an energetic pattern that is carried in the blood. The blood is the messenger. The emotional state of the person, which is related to the “I” or ego self, is reflected in the way the blood organizes itself and shows up in patterns discernible in the blood. They may perhaps be from ancestral energies passed down or have been created in this lifetime through traumas or experiences perhaps consciously forgotten, but the energetic imprints remain and continue to alert the cells and organs in every drop of blood that circulates. These patterns can be interpreted to reveal hidden problems not visible or even measurable by conventional methods. Blood is a mystical fluid that has the power to change the dynamics of the whole being. It is the link to the brain body connection. As an example, when thinking negative or fearful thoughts you can see the way the blood

5 Plants That Will Absorb Dangerous Airborne Chemicals By Ariana Marisol www.naturalblaze.com

VERYONE KNOWS THAT growing plants inside your home can bring beauty, vitality, and life into any living space. Did you know that growing certain plants in your home could also have wonderful health benefits? Everyday household objects can release harmful gases into the air that we breath. These pollutants can have a serious effect on our health. Plants are able to breathe in bad air and turn dangerous toxins into harmless substances. Poor air quality from pollution, odours, moulds, and chemicals can impact your breathing which can have a variety of negative effects on your health. These five plants have purifying benefits that help promote relaxation, which can lead to healthier sleeping patterns and all around better days. A healthy home has approximately 1 houseplant per 100 square feet. It is a good idea to have more plants per square feet if you live with multiple people or pets.

1. Aloe Vera Aloe Vera is well known for soothing inflammation, scars, and burned skin. It is also among the most powerful air purifiers in the world. While Aloe Vera helps clear chemicals like formaldehyde and benzene from the air, it also lowers carbon dioxide levels at night. This

responds. Not only does the pH change, but also the way the blood cells relate to each other changes. If the person then thinks of something joyful or loving, you can actually see the immediate changes in the blood patterns. It reacts that quickly. When one considers that it is the blood that nourishes all of our cells, it becomes clear how important it is to monitor our thoughts and beliefs and allow positive energy to bathe our bodies. Ill health and disease states are now being studied with regards to the huge effects of epigenetics: our extra cellular and intracellular environment. If we become aware of how we can influence our state of health by changing our blood energy patterns, we can give ourselves the best chance of wellbeing. Both John and Diane are enthusiastically pioneering groundbreaking territory in their work. Combining the information of quantum hematology with the emerging fields of quantum iridology and quantum biofeedback (which also gives information on personal energetics) makes for a synergistic and potentially powerful diagnostic tool. This may be the very thing that offers key information in our understanding of ourselves, enabling us to return to vibrant health and happiness. I am excited that this is available to us here in the lower mainland. And as the word quantum implies: time and space are not a problem as Qwest 4 Health can help people from far and wide. www.qwest4health.ca

rare ability to absorb CO2 levels in the dark makes Aloe a wonderful bedroom companion that can help you get a more refreshing sleep. Aloe Vera is very easy to care for, needing minimum water and attention. The Egyptians called it the ‘plant of immortality’ because it is so resilient. It is important to keep it in direct sunlight.

2. Snake Plant (Mother-in-Law’s Tongue) NASA conducted a study about houseplants and air purification. The study shows that the snake plant can reduce respiratory symptoms, eye irritation, and headaches, while also reducing the need for ventilation. During the study, NASA sealed a snake plant in a chamber with various noxious gases for 24 hours and found that it reduced the amount of Benzene in the air by 53% and the amount of Trichloroethylene in the air by 13.4%. Snake plant is also a great bedroom companion because it can provide a significant amount of oxygen to indoor environments at night. Snake plant can be neglected for periods of time because it is a sturdy plant. It will thrive in the sun or shade, but should not be kept in an environment below 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

3. Areca Palm The Areca palm is a very popular office and household dweller. Its popularity grew

is the new vibration. The universe is subjective. Only subjective. Only experiential. Matter, data, knowledge, even the words themselves are becoming less dense. Necessarily emptier. It’s not the words that are spoken; it’s how they are delivered. Intent, tonality, resonance, emotion, focus.

Defiantly Elegant & Impetuously Creative Human culture is asymmetrical. Mainstream culture is symmetrical. This is how we can tell the difference between what is real and what is unreal. What is manifested through unique evolutionary loving intent and what is not. What is magick and what is not. Symmetry is necessary for mass production and prefabrication. It can also be utilized as a framework for separation; for holding negative resonance, as in Control System street geometry and Masonic architecture. The absence of right angles in nature encompasses a wider teaching that questions the wisdom of man’s insistent propagation of boxes, squares and rectangles in the 3D earth realm. The angular distortions of restrictive geometry can be formulated to confine a specific movement of energy. At extremes, it can contract energy to such a degree that it becomes stuck and forms a negative singularity, a subtle energetic

when it scored very high in all categories when NASA tested 50 plants for their ability to filter the air around us, ease of care, and for the ability to add moisture to the surrounding atmosphere. It can purify benzene, formaldehyde, and trichloroethylene from the air. It is also a very effective air humidifier. Areca palms prefer bright sunlight but too much light can scorch the leaves. It is important to not overwater these plants and they do best in moderate temperatures.

4. English Ivy A NASA study concluded that English Ivy is the number one best air purifying houseplant because it is the most efficient plant to absorb formaldehyde. Its leaves can improve symptoms of allergies and asthma. The American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology reported that, in a 2005 experiment, English Ivy removed 94% of airborne faeces and 78% of airborne mould in as little as 12 hours. English Ivy is easy to grow and survives in moderate temperatures with medium sun exposure. The vine looks great in a hanging basket or on a ledge where the leaves can trail down. This plant can be toxic is ingested by kids or pets so make sure to keep it out of their reach.

black hole that begins to compromise the evolutionary trajectory of the whole system. This is what all illnesses derive from: ‘stuckness’ and contraction of energy. To release stuck energy patterns, one needs to open the shape, re-wire the circuit so the system remains open. Energy can flow inward and outward. This is the pattern of nature. In the unhindered natural expression of earth, there is only curve. Even the hardest, sharpest angles are all vector points along a smooth curve. There is only curve. Only flow. Even in the deepest stillness, when motionless beside a tranquil lake, there is a deep harmonic throb. The graceful pulse of supremely elegant planet Earth. The conscious solar wind blows through us. There is no hiding, no possibility of concealment. Clinging to the old, leads to falling. Acknowledging the new, leads to ascension. All perfectly natural. All is as it should be. The evolution of the galaxy proceeds no matter what. The trick is to know that we are not simply galactic inhabitants – we are the unfoldment itself. We are it. There is no separation. We switch from being objects to being the thing in itself. We join a myriad other intelligences and conscious vibrations to create what we choose. Zooming out, we perceive that indeed we are the transdimensional object of all existence. It is only the needless magnification of self that brings the polarity of being zoomed-in; the perpetually regressive pickle of seeing only that which lies under one’s own nose. The ego fears loss of self, because it believes self is essential for survival. Not

5. Chrysanthemum This colourful plant can brighten any room or office. Its blossoms can also filter out benzene, which is commonly found in glue, paint, plastics, and detergent. The name “Chrysanthemum” is derived from the Greek words “gold” and “flower”. The flower also has many medicinal benefits. It can be used to treat chest pain, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, fever, cold, headache, dizziness, and swelling. When combined with other herbs, it can also be used to treat prostate cancer. Chrysanthemum tea is a very popular summertime beverage in areas of southern China. Chrysanthemums need bright sunlight to flourish indoors. It is important to find an area that gets sun even in the winter. Water the plant often, keeping the soil damp at all times. so. There is absolutely no loss of consciousness in dissolving the boundaries of self. Identity can, if one so wishes, remain perfectly intact, pristine and whole. That is, if one would wish to carry that energetic weight any further along the journey, rather than depositing it respectfully in the galactic record for future public reference. It is a peculiarly human trait to imagine that dissolution means loss; that giving away means losing. Quite the reverse. By removing the boundary markers, by opening the energetic portals, the sublime unity of consciousness can be allowed to flow inwards and outwards. We become what we were, what we really are. Ironically, it is in connecting with the totality that we regain our real distinctiveness. We begin to conceive of the fact that we do not require a self to anchor experience. We do not need to exist only in one place at one time. When the temporality of the 3D is cast aside, having beautifully served its purpose as a phenomenal teaching device (in every sense of the word), then a beautiful wholeness of being can finally unfold, no longer polarized, no longer pulled away from the perfect centre. For it is here, at this point of pure equilibrium, that we divinely dwell.

OU ARE THE AWAKENING” is 467 pages of inspiration and empowerment now available on Amazon.com. Spread it far and wide! A full on read that can also be used as a handbook of standalone essays for regular uplifts and insights for the awakening warrior at any level. Here are some reviews so far: “Zen Gardner’s book is a welcome contribution to a gathering challenge to the Matrix of deceit, illusion and programmed perception. Lies got us into this mess – only truth can get us out of it.” – David Icke “Zen Gardner is a remarkable man with a profound insight into the game of life and the art required to effectively travel its pathways. He is one of a rare breed of spirit warrior able to offer realizations that affect people on a soul level and has been blessed with the ability to be able to communicate them simply and powerfully. This book is a must have for anyone on the path to true knowledge and a deeper understanding of both themselves and the reality they inhabit.” – Max Igan “Zen Gardner does an adventurous thing and a right thing and an exciting thing: he knocks down the wall between consciousness and the world, without diminishing the heights to which consciousness can rise. Think about that. And read what he writes, because he’s also updating original Zen to make it relevant to today and tomorrow. He shreds the illusory barrier between wisdom of the past and life as it is this minute.” – Jon Rappoport “Zen Gardner is a sparkling and

unusually clear voice in today’s information madness. His prolific writings and unique presence have touched millions with a thoroughly informed yet deeply perceptive outlook on a troubled world desperately in need of an honestly enlightened and empowering perspective. ‘You Are the Awakening’ is a directional milestone and, as always with Zen’s writing, it is presented with a sincerity and compassion for mankind that not only will further open and inspire your mind but will touch you at your deepest level. ing…who is? This is a wonderful journey to a very special place.” – Jeff Rense “My dear friend and brother Zen Gardner has an absolutely magical and divine touch to his words. He is one of our times greatest and most important writers and philosophers.” – Ole Dammegärd “For Zen Gardner writing, thinking and doing belong in the same world of absolute immediacy. His compassionate grasp of the human condition unearths the inner calling in all of us and throws a great arc of light upon the spirit led aspiration of humanity as a whole. In ‘You Are the Awakening’, Zen draws deeply on his own life experiences and reveals that a passionate quest for truth is the key to the human awakening to which this book is dedicated.” – Julian Rose “Zen Gardner’s new book “You Are the Awakening” emerges at a most critical time. Knowledge about the control mechanisms we face demands new responsibilities from those who have pursued independent thought. Zen deftly weaves the “real world” dots of daily news into a higher understanding of why we find ourselves in this particular time and space. With insight, wit, and compassion, he encourages each individual to begin their own path of self-reflection and uncover the single biggest secret that keeps humanity from realizing its true

potential.” – Michael Edwards, Editor of ActivistPost.com “‘You Are The Awakening’ exposes the occult agenda for mankind and the ongoing assault on human consciousness. Zen Gardner’s words are a compilation of courage, vision and inspiration, a clarion call for action in an increasingly violent and dangerous world.” – Elva Thompson “‘You Are The Awakening’ – the title spells it out exactly. Zen’s inspirational writings let knowledge seekers understand they are not alone as the great cycle unfolds, memories return and we begin to shake off the shackles of suppression. Zen’s book is history in the making. Generations to come will be able to look back and see how it all unfolded.” – Steve (Philosophers Stone/ Phoenix is Risen) “Zen’s work is potent and powerful. He truly has his mind and heart tuned to the many facets of the Awakening.” – Sharron Rose, Producer, The Last Avatar Enjoy!
