World Dairy Expo has some tricks up its sleeves to make its 50th Anniversary memorable for everyone. “We just keep piling on new things,” said Liz Matzke, World Dairy Expo’s Attendee Services Manager. New social engagements and new avenues of sharing results from the Showring are only a few of the new features World Dairy Expo is unveiling to enhance the experience for all the attendees. “That’s our biggest focus,” Matzke said. “We want to make every attendee feel special and provide something for them, whether they’re here for two hours or two days.” Expo is accomplishing this through a new feature that shares show results through text messages. “Texting is a popular and prevalent form of communication,” Matzke said. “It made sense to do this. It’s a great step forward for Expo.” Attendees can text

Results from the Dairy Cattle Shows are now available at your fingertips. Simply text WDERESULTS to 727-4-WDEXPO.
WDERESULTS to 727493-3976 or 727-4-WDEXPO and choose any combination of Breed Shows they want results from, including results from all of the shows. “When you text that number and choose what shows you want results for, the name of the first place animal and owner will be texted to your phone as soon as the class is placed,”
Matzke explained. “This will allow attendees to stay in touch with what’s happening in the ring no matter where they are – somewhere else on the grounds or at home in the barn or a field.” They will also be using texting for the scavenger hunt with FFA on Tuesday. FFA attendees can text HUNT to the same number, 727-4-WDEXPO and re-
ceive their questions for the scavenger hunt. The system will give them 25 random questions, leading them across the grounds to learn more about Expo. “Expo is excited about offering this,” Matzke remarked. Another new feature this year at Expo will be the Dairy Happy Hours, which Turn to EXPERIENCE | Page 3
