phy of humanism will provide more man-centred activities than just a communal way of life,” he said. He noted that it was better to promote Zambian philosophy in line with Christian values adding that the country should not be ashamed to pursue a better destiny. Col Muyoba explained that Zambians integrity is unique hence there should be a unique philosophy which was founded by UNIP under Dr Kenneth Kaunda. He stated that it was prudent to have one philosophy to promote traditions of communal way of life on which all political parties’ vision or programmes should be based.

GOVERNMENT has received a grant of over US$6 million dollars from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) to address effects of climate change in Wetlands. Lands Minister Jean Kapata announced at press briefing in Lusaka yesterday that the Global Environment Facility had approved Government’s proposal for a grant amounting to 6,185,000) towards the project which will be implemented by UN-Environment as the Implementing Agency. She said the project was aimed at addressing the climate change vulnerability of ecosystems and rural communities around the Lukanga and Bangweulu Wetlands, which are being affected by the on-going degradation of wetlands and forests resulting in the reduction of the provision of ecosystem services. trying to embarrass the Presidency by labelling those close to it corrupt. “ACC has been infiltrated by the opposition, it is indirectly aiming at the Presidency by making it look like his Cabinet is corrupt,” he said. Mr Bwalya said the accusations against Mr Chilufya were a grand design of enemies of the ruling party. He warned that if there were any PF members dining with the ‘enemy’, their days were numbered and would be exposed soon.

He said in as much as ACC was mandated to fight corruption, the witch-hunt that was being witnessed was unacceptable. Mr Bwalya pointed out that when President Edgar Lungu first rolled out a massive infrastructure programme, then minister of Infrastructure and Housing, Ronald Chitotela was targeted. He said in the same vein, Health Minister Chitalu Chilufya was now being targeted because he had been working closely with the Head of State. Mr Bwalya said ACC was

He said in an interview that ACC was aware that once individuals who were closest to the President were labelled corrupt, that would paint the same picture of the Presidency. GOVERNMENT should lift the ban on export of rain-fed maize to allow farmers sell to alternative markets, Zambia National Farmers Union(ZNFU) Public Relations Officer Kelvin Kaleyi has said. Mr Kaleyi said the country has produced enough maize therefore government should allow farmers to export to markets with attractive prices. He said the Country has produced 3.3 metric tonnes out of which 1 metric tonnes will be bought by the Food Reserve Agency (FRA). Mr Kaleyi said government should allow farmers to export the surplus so that they can improve their production. “3.3 metric tonnes that the country has produced this year is quiet huge and government should allow export of excess of rain fed maize. We want a good market and good prices for our farmers so that they can grow and start growing maize throughout this year to boost their income levels and national food security,” he said. Mr Kaleyi said ZNFU was interested in ensure that there is a good market with attractive prices for farmers to sell their produce so that they can improve on production and machining their farming. And Mr Kaleyi said the farmers were looking to export 83,000 metric tonnes of early maize. He said ZNFU and other stakeholders will soon conclude formalities in readiness for export. Mr Kaleyi said farmers have in excess of 83,000 tonnes of winter maize out of 135,000 metric tonnes produced last winter.
