www.easyhealthcare.com.au Delivering Quality NDIS Support Services with Compassion. THE SYDNEY DISABILITY CONNECTION EXPO MAGAZINE 2024 DEVELOPING AUSTRALIAN COMMUNITIES WELCOMES YOU TO THE SPONSORED BY EASY HEALTHCARE THIS EXPO IS PROUDLY BROUGHT TO YOU BY DEVELOPING AUSTRALIAN COMMUNITIES
Connection Expo 2024, sponsored by Easy Healthcare!
This event has been created and shaped by people living with disability, for people living with disability. We hope you enjoy yourself, and make lasting connections and relationships that advance your disability journey.
This year we are delivering the biggest series of Disability and NDIS related events in Australia’s history in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Perth. We are also working with providers in every region around Australia to understand the local issues and opportunities via our Virtual Connection Expo platform. This will enable the 4.4 million Australians living with disability to access essential information, connect with service providers, see updates, watch on demand content, join in with virtual conferences and topic days from leaders all around the world.
With the Royal Commission and the huge amount of work being done by our Minster the Hon Mr Bill Shorten and his state colleagues we have seen the Government focus on change and improvements.
Now is the time for people with lived experience to lead meaningful conversations, and for more collaborations to be forged between Advocacy Groups, Advocacy Leaders, Service Providers and political leaders to work together to execute solutions for the recommendations - together.
The last few years have taught us all more than ever that we need lots of different ways to connect and stay connected. This is why we are partnering with so many great sponsors and building a huge network with participants, families, carers, service providers, and Guardians from all over Australia to help us create a disability sector we can all be proud of.
We invite you to enjoy yourself over the two days. As we always say, we don’t do halls, stalls
and pamphlets alone. We know that getting out and connecting needs to be supported and an opportunity for the community to come together and spend time together. Our Expos are community events held over two days and we make sure there is plenty to do, lots of space, seating, food, entertainment, and a great atmosphere so people can enjoy their time connecting.
Don’t forget, if you have a burning NDIS question, make sure you swing by the NDIS Information Hub, sponsored by GNA Services, and enjoy the range of Main Stage Entertainment with interactive performances throughout the day for you to get involved in.
This year we are showcasing sponsors in innovative ways, from Specialist Hub and Specialist Partners, to Recharge, Chill Out Zones, and Activity sponsors. To all providers who have stepped up to support this huge community event, thank you! Your support is essential.
Over the last three years we have been featured on hundreds of items of coverage across radio, TV and print media, raising awareness of important issues and changes in the disability sector and NDIS space. The media is now seeing DAC as a source of information for the sector, and we’re now attracting weekly media invitations to help raise awareness for key topics.
If you have opinions or solutions on the direction NDIS should head in, and you’re looking to raise your media, please contact us if you’d like to explore this opportunity.
For now, we would like you to enjoy your time at the expo, take in as much information as you can, and connect with as many providers and people who will support your journey. On behalf of the entire DAC team, we hope that this is a moment in time that you’ll reflect on, that seriously progresses your disability journey.

24/7 Care Disability Services and Activity Hub
We welcome 24/7 Care Disability Services and Activity Hub as a Platinum Sponsor of the Sydney Disability Connection Expo 2024.
The people they support, their voices and their aspirations are central to how 24/7 Care Disability Services and Activity Hub goes about delivering services.
Their refurbished hub on the Central Coast might be the heartbeat of their activities, but their people are the brains behind the programs that they offer. It is a very niche model that listens and learns from participants and delivers what they want and need to achieve their goals.
The program changes rapidly, as they undertake a great deal of consultation, communication and collaboration that drives the activities and groups that are coming up.
Even nonverbal participants have a voice at 24/7 Care, to ensure they are included in the outcomes their ongoing consultation achieves. 24/7 Care
Disability Services and Activity Hub are like a family. Clients’ parents have even established a community of support as well that sees them gather regularly.
They use a traffic light system to guide the responses they receive and where everyone gives feedback to get to the point where they know that what they are offering people with disabilities and their families is what they want and need.
The hub that they’ve created is a hive of activities and groups with different experiences available all the time that respond to what clients want to achieve.
24/7 Care Disability Services and Activity Hub have seen some very complex and challenging behaviours but can say with absolute conviction that their success stories are exceptional and clients who have been excluded from other providers have found a home with 24/7 Care.
Offering Community Access, Daily Living, STA, a dementia support group, and handyman services 24/7 Care Disability Services and Activity Hub are all about taking a different and more inclusive approach to support that incorporates the voice of the participant every step of the way along the continuum of care.
They operate across the Central Coast, Lake Macquarie, Newcastle and The Hunter Region so there are plenty of opportunities for you to get involved.

What sets them apart is their deep commitment to making a difference. Every day, they strive to create a

Neufit ANZ
We welcome Neufit ANZ as a Specialist Hub Partner of the Sydney Disability Connection Expo 2024.
NeuFit ANZ’s participation at the Sydney Disability Connection Expo as a Capacity Building Rehabilitation Specialist provides a unique opportunity for rehabilitation and disability support, to allow for the integration of advanced technological solutions to empower individuals with disabilities. At the core of NeuFit ANZ’s presentation is the groundbreaking application of Direct Current (DC) therapy, a method that stands at the frontier of rehabilitative treatments, offering hope and tangible results to those it serves.
Direct Current therapy is more than just a treatment; it’s a gateway to unlocking the body’s intrinsic healing potential. Unlike conventional alternating current (AC) therapies, DC therapy applies a steady stream of electrical flow, mimicking the body’s own natural electrical impulses. This method has shown exceptional efficacy in stimulating muscular activation, promoting recovery, and enhancing the functional abilities of individuals with varying disabilities.
Central to the discussion will be the concept of neuroplasticity – the brain’s
remarkable ability to reorganise itself by forming new neural connections throughout life. This ability is essential for rehabilitation, as it underpins the body’s capacity to recover from and adapt to neurological challenges. NeuFit ANZ’s approach leverages neuroplasticity through targeted direct current stimulation, facilitating the re-education of the nervous system and encouraging the restoration of lost functions.
A significant portion of the presentation will be dedicated to addressing muscle spasticity, a common challenge for many individuals with neurological conditions. Muscle spasticity can severely limit mobility and independence, reducing the quality of life. Through the application of direct current therapy, NeuFit ANZ has achieved remarkable success in reducing spasticity, thereby improving muscle function and comfort for countless individuals. This approach not only alleviates physical discomfort but also enhances participants’ ability to engage in daily activities and therapies more effectively. Finally, the Expo will spotlight breakthroughs in the field of neuromuscular re-education. NeuFit ANZ’s innovative use of the Neubie device, a direct current therapy system, exemplifies the cutting edge of these
breakthroughs. By pinpointing and stimulating muscles that are not receiving proper signals from the brain, the Neubie device facilitates a level of muscular engagement and recovery previously thought unattainable. This technology represents a leap forward in the treatment and management of neurological conditions, offering new hope and possibilities for individuals under the NDIS.
NeuFit ANZ’s sponsorship and participation in the Sydney Disability Connection Expo are not just about showcasing technological advancements; they are about paving the way for a future where disability does not dictate capability. Through the integration of direct current therapy, an understanding of neuroplasticity, and innovative approaches to overcoming muscle spasticity, NeuFit ANZ is setting new standards in the empowerment and rehabilitation of individuals with disabilities.
