D16W, where do I even begin? I want to start off by saying THANK YOU. Serving as your Lieutenant Governor this term has been absolutely life-changing, and I feel I’ve grown in ways I’ve never thought imaginable. Starting this term, you guys don’t understand how nervous I was. I didn’t think I would be able to live up to the bar that our past LTGs have set. I was filled with self-doubt and unease about how this term would go. Throughout this term, planning events and having members attend was shocking and so exciting. Even if I didn’t show it or you didn’t recognize it, anytime you showed up to an event, I became super giddy inside. I appreciated every single member who attended any of our events. Thanks to YOU ALL- members, officers, DLT members, region partnersyou have positively shaped my outlook on myself and got me out of a really dark place. Meeting every member, training every officer, and hosting every event has made this experience something I will never, ever forget. I will always remember our 100-degree DCMs in the summer, our insane spirit sessions, and exhausting service events. We all made a collective effort to change our community for the better, and I couldn’t be prouder of all of you. For my final remarks, I would like to give special thanks to Sophie for keeping up with our newsletters every month. In these letters, I feel like I’m always
able to share a bit of my heart with you guys! Well, that’s all from me! Thank you, Division 16 West, for an amazing term.
Forever Bubbly In Service, TAYESANGKHAE
24-25LIEUTENANTGOVERNOR
I can’t believe it’s my final time writing a letter for the Axolotl Chronicles. This term flew by so fast, and I’m so grateful that I got to be apart of such an incredible leadership team. Through this position, I have been able to improve my design skills on a whole different level, and I am so apprieciative that I can make such an informative newsletter for D16W! It was amazing being able to connect with different clubs through articles and visuals, along with getting to make little notes for readers every month. I really love how creative I am able to be through the newsletted, and I really have been changed through this position. It gives me something to look forward to every month, something I can strive to perfect. This club is such an amazing organization filled with such unique people and I could not be more happy to be part of such an amazing team. I hope I was able to show the love you all have shown to me through these newsletters, and the countless hours I have worked to bring you a different newsletter filled with new content every month. The Axolotl Chronicles are an awesome way to stay updated with Key Club, and it’s an honor to take part in such an amazing
SOPHIE SOPHIE

Until next term, SOPHIE APOLAYA 24-25 DISTRICT NEWS

What’s bubblin’ axos! Can’t believe my term as treasurer is already wrapping up! This past year has
been a journey– from working with a dedicated and inspirational team to making life-long memories, I’m grateful that I got the opportunity to serve as D16W treasurer. I’m honored that I was able to work with a team that was not only supportive, but also passionate about Key Club. I’ve met wonderful people throughout my term that inspire me to be a better person and accomplish more of my goals in life. I’m grateful for all of the memories that were created (such as watching people buy my snacks at DCM’s) and grateful for all of the people I met along the way. Thank you Taye <3 for giving me the opportunity to serve as treasurer. Key Club will be a life-long cherishment!

ALEJANDRO GARCIA 24-25 SPIRIT COORDINATOR
I can’t believe it’s already the end of my term and time in Key Club This term has been so special to me and it’s surreal that it’s coming to an end so
soon. Key Club has meant so much to me throughout high school and being able to serve on your DLT has truly made my senior year so special. It has been such a memorable and formative experience, giving me the opportunity to meet amazing people, allowing me to express my creativity and explore my artistic style, and opening many more doors for me. And although my time in D16W is coming to end, I’ll always carry with me the bonds and silly memories I made, along with all my little axolotl drawings. It’s bittersweet having to say so many goodbyes at once, but I’m honored to
have gotten the chance to get to know so many of you So for the last time, splash you later, Axos!

It’s been a huge honor to be able to serve along with all of you guys and
watching the DLT work together as a team and to see the end product of what we have accomplished is truly amazing. This term has felt so short and I’m sure going to miss it. I would like to thank you all everything. Can’t wait to some of y’all next term, for those graduating it has truly been a great

I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who participated for your
incredible support and for giving your all during those unforgettable spirit sessions. Those moments were seriously so much fun, and I’m so grateful I got to be a part of them. One of my favorite Key Club memories will always be selling Dubai chocolate in the freezing cold, running around trying to find the perfect spot. Even though it was so chaotic and stressful I really got to get out of my comfort zone This term has been so memorable and I can’t want to come back strong next year! I’ll see you all then!
ZAHARA HAQUE 24-25 SPIRIT COORDINATOR
It's been such an honor serving you as one of your executive assistants for the

We just held our elections for the 2025–2026 school year, and we’re beyond excited to officially welcome our brand-new Board! This incoming board is filled with passionate, creative individuals who are ready to make a positive impact on our club and community. Each of them brings something unique to the table! This ranges from fresh ideas and strong leadership skills to a genuine enthusiasm for community service and connection. As we transition into this new chapter, we want to thank everyone who ran and showed interest in being part of our leadership team. The future is looking bright, and we can’t wait to see what amazing things this group will accomplish together. Let’s give a warm welcome to the 2025–2026 Board!
Our club recently hosted one of the most exciting events of the year our elections for officer positions! For the Vice President role alone, we had six dedicated candidates step up to the challenge Each candidate was given two minutes to present a speech where they highlighted their qualifications, leadership experience, and goals for the club It was a great opportunity for members to get to know each candidate on a more personal level and to see their personalities shine through. Overall, the event was a huge success! It was fun, engaging, and gave everyone a chance to participate in shaping our club’s future. We’re so proud of every candidate who ran and showed dedication to making our club the best it can be.
The Track Meet took place on March 7 and was a significant event that supported Taft’s track and cross country teams. Volunteers assisted with various tasks, including setting up hurdles and organizing other track-related events to ensure everything ran smoothly Taft Key Club members were among the dedicated volunteers who contributed their time and effort to make the event a success Not only was the meet an exciting and engaging experience, but it also provided a fresh perspective on the value of volunteering within the school community
