By: Franz Eugenio (Golden Valley) On September 23rd, Division 16 North participated in Santa Clarita’s River Cleanup and Environmental Expo. During this time, people were able to help clean the Santa Clarita River from 8:00 am to 11:00am. People from Golden Valley, West Ranch, Saugus, Hart, and Valencia came to participate in this annual event. With so many people, Key Club was not even a small portion of people in this massive event. Families, clubs, and many youth groups joined in to help clean the river. Many participated in order to preserve our dried river. The reason being is that many want to preserve the natural beauty of the once filled river.

Although it may not have water like other rivers, this river has provided us a lot and in order to show thanks people all over Santa Clarita join to clean up the trash that is left behind. Key Club participated in this event to not only clean up the river, but to show an example to the community around us. We are able to show the community that we as a society should preserve our environment. Overall, the River Cleanup and Environmental Expo that the City of Santa Clarita created was a success.

VALENCIA FALL RALLY PROMOTION By: Denise Cruz On the 21st of September in this particular club meeting, Valencia's officers decided to do something fun to encourage the members to participate at Fall Rally! To better promote the event, the editors wore true Fall Rally attires, complete with the division shirts and tutus. The other officers prepared printed out promotional posters that the editors later gave away to the members. Our LTG, Nikki Sohn, even brought the spirit stick. The editors, Skylar Cho and I, hid outside the theater until it was time for Fall Rally to be talked about. We entered by asking the officers presenting how they felt to get them to do the cheer and ran down the theater giving the members the mini posters. Afterwards, we presented to them all the details on the event. Thankfully, the members seemed more intrigued and excited about it! We can't wait to see all the member cheering and dressing up for his year's Fall Rally! See you there!

ARLETA FOOTBALL GAME CLEAN-UP By: Manuel Duran On October 5 , Arleta High School's Key Club was given the opportunity to assist in cleaning up after our school's second football game against Venice High School. Arleta Key Club is known for beautifying our campus after every major event at our school. Also, showing other students that Key Club is willing to support our student body by providing a safe and clean place at Arleta. Our principal, Mr.Brown, saw that there is a group of people at our school that are willing to improve our community by providing services without people having to pay. Arleta High School Key Club was given the chance to show the Arleta High School student body that Key Club is willing to become critical thinkers, community contributors, and effective communicators. Also, allowing other schools to see that the Arleta Key Club doesn't only represent Arleta but an entire society that is willing to work on creating world peace by providing community service to the rest of the planet. In Key Club, students are given the chance to have an opportunity to clean our campus due to the fact that students after the game tend to leave a mess after the game. Again, Key Club is willing to create a clean environment.
