canyon CHRISTMAS CARD MAKING By: Alyssa Santos

This Christmas season is filled with love and joy as Canyon Key Club members unite on December 7 during lunch to make cards for the children in the

hospital! Members choose festive colored pencils, such as red, green and yellow, and begin making the cards with the company of other fellow key club friends to give them inspiration. Each card is filled with festive drawings and personal messages to spread merriness within the kids. It is such a simple gesture, yet can mean so much to the children and their families. There is the undeniable excitement of gifts and the idea that Santa Claus may be climbing down your chimney in the middle of the night, eating the cookies and drinking the milk you have set out on a silver platter for him, floating in the minds of children as well as ourselves. However, there is also the aspect in which children enjoy the happiness and love that this cheerful holiday brings forth. Canyon Key Club is ecstatic about spreading joyful cheer to young and excited children. Christmas brings out the best in all of us, as Canyon members gather in a classroom, ready to ensure the fulfillment of a merry Christmas!

vaughn CHRISTMAS FAMILY NIGHT By: Luis Lopez

With Christmas coming right around the corner, Vaughn had the opportunity to help our neighboring school with their Family Night Christmas Celebration. We sent six of our members to be a part of an amazing event for the community. As a request from the school, the members dressed up as little Santa’s helpers. The members had no problem with it and loved the idea of dressing up for the little ones. Throughout the night, members helped

manage the crafting table and the pony ride line and greeted families as they entered. They got to experience the true meaning of Christmas by giving back to our community. One member, Allyson, says, “It was good, fun, and a very nice experience”. Another member, Kimberly, says. “My favorite part was the pony and helping with the arts and crafts.”
