HELLO UNICORNS! My name is Hyewon Lee and I am extremely excited to be serving as the Division 16N News Editor for the 2017-2018 term! I will make sure to showcase everyone’s dedication to Key Club so make sure to stay updated on the monthly newsletters! Thank you to the Bulletin Editors of each club for their hard work because newsletters would not be possible without your BEEutiful help! Have a great summer!

HELLO UNICORNS! Is everything going well now that summer has started for you all? I am personally taking my time to regain my lost hours of sleep from school. Now that Officer Training Conference has passed, I hope that all of you had the opportunity to learn more about the duties of each officer as well as the leadership and service opportunities that Key Club International offers. There are going to be many other division events that will take place in July and the following months so please keep in touch with us, whether it is Facebook, Instagram, Remind, or E-mail. I'd just like to remind all of you that service never ends, even during the summer. I encourage all of you to go out to serve your community! Unicorns, you make me proud everyday with all of the amazing things that we do to change our community and the world. This year, I hope that we can take things even further to serve and lead.

GO UNICORNS!

-Nikki Sohn

RECOGNITIONS Congratulations to:

MEMBER of the MONTH:

OFFICER of the MONTH:

CLUB of the MONTH:

SHARE-TIME Francoise Morada (Golden Valley)

Shane Cho (West Ranch)

“The GV Banquet was a success with giving out the medallions to the seniors and to just enjoy our accomplishments as a club this past school year.”

“We are looking for ways to raise member retention and participation, and I have been getting a lot of good ideas!”

Isabel Medrano (Arleta)

Denise Cruz (Valencia)

“We’ve been motivating members by having Member of the Month awards and encouraging them to join by stressing the importance of giving back to the community.”

“The Remind app is such a great tool in letting the members know about events and such.”

Aastha Randhawa (West Ranch) “Community service is an excellent way to get to know other volunteers from other schools.”

Alyssa Santos (Canyon): The Newhall Boys and Girls Club swarms with activity and enthusiasm on June 11 during the June DCM. Starting the event off right, everyone shares names and their most desired super power as a short introduction. Next up is the first game of the day where everyone gathers in the gym. When a certain number is called, you must get into a group with that many people. In a way, it helps everyone become acquaintances with fellow members while extending out an extra hand to those who need a group.

Next, a spirit battle takes place to see who can memorize and present this year’s cheer the best. As groups, everyone gets to combine their energy and molds it into the passion we share for the club. The spirit battle helps us get out of our comfort zones and show just how crazy we can be. Even the eLEMONate activity helps bring ‘soul mates’ together! Though only two people come together in the end, those who stay standing throughout the game get to find things they have in common with everyone else who is also standing! Yes, there is only one person being asked questions, however, the whole gym is actually answering it! Without consciously realizing it, with every activity we participate in, we get to know our members better. The in-n-out lunch and blanket making festivity gives time for us to not only create stronger bonds, but to also help warm the hearts and bodies of others with the fleece blankets we make and donate.
