Happy December! I can't believe this year is almost over! I hope everyone had a relaxing Thanksgiving break. I also wanted to send my love and well wishes to everyone who was affected by the Saugus shooting. If you're reading this, just know that I'm giving you a big hug right now. I know you all will survive these last few weeks of school! I hope you have a nice winter break and happy holidays!

I just want to thank you all who attended Fall Rally South 2019! Also thank you for those who supported the Pediatric Trauma Program, this wouldn't have been possible without you all! This isn't the end of the term so make sure to keep coming out to DCMs and other Key Club events. I promise you all they’re going to be really fun!! Thank you all once again and have a great Thanksgiving

spotlight on service providing basic needs The Spotlight on Service program for December is "Providing Basic Needs". During this time of the holidays, Key Club emphasizes giving and helping. Project ideas are listed below to help Key Club members give back during this holiday season. Letters to Santa Clause:

Supply Drives:

Blanket Making:

Gift Wrapping:

Adopt-a-Family:

Write letters to Santa, and Macy's will donate $1 to Make-A-Wish Foundation for each letter. Organize a supply drive for warm winter clothes, food, or toys and donate these supplies to a local organization Make no-sew blankets with fleece and donate it to your local hospital. Many organizations like Project Linus participates in this activity. Contact a store or mall for permission and set up a gift wrapping table there. Donate all the profits from gift wrapping to a charity. Collect donations to help out a family in need. Toys, clothes, food, gift cards, and other gifts are very much appreciated by these families.

Fall Rally South by Daira Merino, Golden Valley Bulletin Editor As Fall Rally approaches, members prepare, practice, and grow their excitement and spirit. Until finally the most anticipated day has arrived. On November 9, 2019, Key Club’s annual Fall Rally South took place at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Starting as early as 7:00 am and ending until we cheer with the stars in the night. Our excitement begins at the Golden Bear Theater where LTGs are “auctioned”off to Divisions. The Division who won will be able to spend time at the park with the LTG.

All the money that was auctioned, raised, and some portion of the ticket sale went towards the Pediatric Trauma Program. In addition to the auction, Division Spirit Rallies are held in between each auctions. These spirit rallies allowed divisions to compete with one another to show who has the best cheers and spirit until the final winner wins the spirit stick. After the spirit rally and pictures, we enjoyed the rest of the day at Six Flags by going on rides and participating in spirit battles.

Many Key Club members were able to catch up or meet friends from different divisions and regions. This event allowed for members to create special bonds while focusing on raising money for PTP. As the stars come out in the night sky, many say goodbye to their regional friends. Looking upon on everyone's smiles, laughter, and cheers, we hope to enjoy another day together. We encourage many others to participate in the fun next year.
