

Cefnogaeth i Gŵyl Agor Drysau Arad Goch yn dathlu 10 mlynedd gyda chefnogaeth Cronfa Ffyniant Gyffredin y DU ac ARFOR
Nol yn mis Mawrth eleni bu Arad Goch yn brysur yn dathlu 10 mlynedd ‘Gŵyl Agor Drysau’ a sefydlwyd yn 1996, gŵyl theatr ryngwladol Cymru ar gyfer cynulleidfaoedd ifanc a chafodd ei drefnu gan Gwmni Theatr Arad Goch yn Aberystwyth.
Cynhelir perfformiadau, gweithdai a sgyrsiau yn nhref Aberystwyth, sef cartref yr ŵyl, ac mewn theatrau eraill yng Nghymru Nod yr ŵyl yw rhoi’r cyfle i blant, pobl ifanc a theuluoedd yng Nghymru weld rhai o gynyrchiadau theatr gorau’r byd, a rhoi cyfle i raglenwyr a chynhyrchwyr rhyngwladol brofi cyfoeth celfyddydau perfformio Cymru.
Nod strategaeth economaidd Cyngor Sir Ceredigion yw rhoi cyfleoedd i bobl ifanc sy'n dymuno aros a datblygu gyrfa yng Ngheredigion sy'n cyd-fynd â'r gefnogaeth y mae’r ŵyl ‘Agor Drysau’ wedi ei dderbyn drwy Cronfa Ffyniant y Deyrnas Unedig (CFfGDU) ac ARFOR Mae’r gronfa CFfGDU yn rhan ganolog o agenda Ffyniant Bro Llywodraeth y Deyrnas Unedig a weinyddir gan dîm Cynnal y Cardi y Cyngor Prif nod y gronfa yw meithrin balchder mewn lle a gwella cyfleoedd bywyd ledled y DU sy’n agor y llenni i ‘Gŵyl Agor Drysau’
Opening Doors Festival, Arad Goch celebrated 10 years with the support from UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and ARFOR Back in March of this year, Arad Goch were busy celebrating the 10th anniversary of their ‘Opening Doors Festival' which was established in 1996, the Welsh international theatre festival for young audiences which was organised by Arad Goch Theatre Company in Aberystwyth.
Performances, workshops and talks took place in the town of Aberystwyth, the home of the festival, and at other theatres in Wales The festival aims to give children, young people and families in Wales the chance to see some of the world's best theatre productions and give international programmers and producers the chance to experience the richness of Wales' performing arts.
Ceredigion County Council's economic strategy aims to provide opportunities for young people who wish to stay and develop a career in Ceredigion that aligns with the UKSPF and ARFOR support Arad Goch have received for their festival The UKSPF is a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda and is administrated by Cynnal y Cardi, Ceredigion County Council The main aim of the fund is to foster pride in place and improve life chances across the UK which opens the curtains to the 'Opening Doors Festival'
Yn ôl Nia Wyn Evans, Cyfarwyddwr Busnes Arad Goch: “Rydym yn falch iawn o gyhoeddi llwyddiant ein 10fed Gŵyl Agor Drysau, Gŵyl Theatr ryngwladol i gynulleidfaoedd ifanc, a gynhaliwyd rhwng 12fed a 16eg o fis Mawrth, 2024
Cynhaliwyd cyfanswm o 53 perfformiad theatrig hudolus, gan arddangos talentau 19 cwmni gwych o Gymru, Yr Eidal, Gwlad Belg, Iwerddon, Awstralia, a Lloegr Daeth 5,705 o gyfranogwyr/ cynulleidfa i’r perfformiadau yn ystod yr ŵyl Roedd ein rhaglen amrywiol yn cynnig gwead o straeon a pherfformiadau, gan ddarparu adloniant ac ysbrydoliaeth i gynulleidfaoedd o bob oed Rydym yn edrych ymlaen at barhau â'n cenhadaeth o ddod â phrofiadau theatrig o ansawdd i gynulleidfaoedd ifanc am flynyddoedd lawer i ddod.”

Nia Wyn Evans, Business Director at Arad Goch, said: "We are delighted to announce the success of our 10th Opening Doors Festival, an international Theatre Festival for young audiences, taking place from 12-16 of March, 2024 A total of 53 magical theatrical performances took place, showcasing the talents of 19 great companies from Wales, Italy, Belgium, Ireland, Australia, and England 5,705 participants/audience attended the performances during the festival Our diverse programme offered a variety of stories and performances, providing entertainment and inspiration for audiences of all ages We look forward to continuing our mission of bringing quality theatrical experiences to young audiences for many years to come."

Dywedodd llefarydd ar ran y Cyngor: “Bu’r ŵyl yn llwyddiant ysgubol, yn hyrwyddo Aberystwyth a Cheredigion ar blatfform rhyngwladol drwy weithredu fel ffenestr siop i'r dref yn ogystal â'r gwaith a ddangosir Cyfrannodd at economi'r ardal wrth ddenu ymwelwyr o rannau eraill o Brydain ac o dramor gan hybu twristiaeth drwy gyfrannu at ddelwedd Aberystwyth fel lleoliad twristaidd diwylliannol. Bu’r ŵyl yn gyfraniad at adfywio economaidd drwy godi proffil yr ardal a'i adnoddau naturiol.”
Cronfa a fu’n gefnogol iawn i Gwmni Theatr Arad Goch oedd ARFOR, rhaglen a ariennir gan Lywodraeth Cymru sy'n gweithredu yng nghadarnleoedd traddodiadol yr iaith Gymraeg; yn Sir Gaerfyrddin, Ceredigion, Gwynedd ac Ynys Môn
Four full days of performances were hosted for Ceredigion children, young people and families The vision is to provide the only international theatre festival in Wales, and to give Ceredigion's rural audiences the same access and opportunity to international events as the larger towns and cities.
World-class learning and creative activities were provided for children, young people and adults within their communities Ceredigion primary schools attended performances, giving local children from all walks of life the opportunity to visit the theatre and consider Aberystwyth as part of global culture There have also been performances at Theatr Mwldan, Cardigan and Theatr Felinfach, Dyffryn Aeron
A Council spokesperson said: "The festival was a huge success, promoting Aberystwyth and Ceredigion on an international platform by acting as a shop window for the town as well as the work on show It contributed to the economy of the area while attracting visitors from other parts of Britain and from abroad and boosted tourism by contributing to Aberystwyth's image as a cultural tourist location. The festival has been a contribution to economic regeneration by raising the profile of the area and its natural resources."
ARFOR is a fund that has been very supportive of Cwmni Theatr Arad Goch, a Welsh Government funded programme operating in the traditional Welsh language heartlands; at Carmarthenshire Ceredigion, Gwynedd and Anglesey.
Ychwanegodd Nia: “Cwmni Theatr Arad Goch yw un o’r ychydig sefydliadau creadigol sydd yn gweithredu’n llwyr ac yn gyson drwy’r Gymraeg, yn creu eu holl gynyrchiadau yn y Gymraeg a’u trosi, wedyn, i’r Saesneg ac ieithoedd eraill. Er mwyn cyfrannu at y broses o wireddu strategaeth Cymraeg 2050, mae’n rhaid cynnig cyfleoedd cadarnhaol i blant a phobl ifanc, a’u teuluoedd, ddefnyddio’r Gymraeg yn anffurfiol.”

Gweithgareddau Cyfranogol i Deuluoedd: Prosiect ar gyfer teuluoedd; plant a’u rhieni / oedolion i drefnu gweithgareddau sy’n ymwneud a tu-cefn y llwyfan
Cyrsiau Technegol: Prosiect sy’n darparu cyrsiau ymarferol drwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg i bobl ifanc hyd at 25 oed
Nia added: "Arad Goch Theatr Company is one of the few creative organisations that operates completely and consistently through Welsh, creating all their productions in Welsh and translating them, afterwards, into English and other languages. To contribute to the realisation of the Welsh 2050 strategy, children and young people, and their families, must be offered positive opportunities to use Welsh informally."
The campaign consists of four elements under ARFOR support:
Arad Goch Swnllyd: A new music project that will be developed with other organisations such as Y Selar and Gigs Cantre'r Gwaelod to bring together experienced Welsh musicians and young people to write, record and produce music.
Welsh Amateur Drama Company: A project to establish a Welsh drama company for adults at Canolfan Arad Goch which will focus on preparing theatre productions for children using Arad Goch resources

Family Participatory Activities: A project for families; children and their parents / adults to organise activities relating to the backstage
Technical Courses: A project that provides practical courses through the medium of Welsh for young people up to the age of 25
"Children and young people in the area will benefit from these projects as well as families and the local community. It is important as a company to offer a broad cross-section of activities in order to be open to all ages to join in our work/activities. Now in its eighth year, The Small Awards is a nationwide search for the smallest and greatest firms in the UK, across all sectors. It is organised annually by Small Business Britain, which champions, inspires and accelerates the nation’s 5.5 million small firms.

Jan Martin and Jon Sayer started The Snail of Happiness to sell pre-loved crafting supplies and new British yarn to promote sustainability and a circular economy within the community. As a part of that, they also run drop-ins and classes in making and mending. It has been selected as one of just eight finalists in the High Street Hero category for best high street business, which celebrates the nation’s standout independents that play a key role on their local high streets and within their communities
With eleven different categories, the Small Awards celebrate the dynamism and resilience exhibited in the UK’s small business sector, across everything from sustainability heroes to digital stars, to long-standing family businesses

Judged by a panel of industry experts, the winners of all categories, including the overall winner of the Small Business of the Year award, will be announced at a splendid awards ceremony in London on 16th May, 2024.
The ceremony will this year be held at St Mary’s church in London, with plans underway for a night of entertainment, inspiration, and celebration for UK’s greatest small businesses.

The Cynnal y Cardi Events Programme Fund is open until the end of May
A funding opportunity has been launched to support the Council’s commitment to attract more international or national events to Ceredigion. The focus of Cynnal y Cardi’s Events Programme Fund is on attracting visitors to the County. Applications must demonstrate how the event will have a County-wide benefit, as well as possible wider regional and national benefits.
Support the growth of linked businesses (indirect business benefits) and development of highervalue job creation.
Development and promotion of local year-round events and experiences which encourage people to visit and explore the local area Applications must demonstrate how the event will make a difference to individuals, communities and the local economy
Support for local arts, cultural heritage and creative activities
Events must support ambitions around climate change or the transition to a green economy through sustainability and waste reduction
The minimum grant available is £30,000 with the maximum grant available being £100,000. Each grant award will be subject to meeting grant criteria.
