About the role

The Head of Project Development is a member of the Senior Leadership Team. The post holder will lead the programme of development work required to enable a decision to invest in the construction of a new nuclear power station at Trawsfynydd. In addition, the post holder will establish and lead the Programme Management Office for the whole project. The post holder will play a critical role in defining the scope of the project, securing the required consents and licences required for construction and defining the delivery strategy, working with the Head of Commercial to establish key supply chain partnerships. The post holder will need to build an in-house development capability and relationships with supply chain partners to ensure effective and efficient delivery of the development programme.

Key responsibilities

• Defining and managing the overall plan for development of SMR at Trawsfynydd

• Establishing and leading the PMO function for Cwmni Egino, including scope, schedule and cost control and risk management

• Development of the site including site characterisation, environmental surveys, layout design

• Construction planning, including access to utilities, access to site, worker accommodation and interface with Magnox decommissioning programme

• Confirm the land requirements (permanent and temporary) and support the Head of Commercial in securing access rights

• Define the strategy and deliver the plan for securing the consents and licenses required for both the development work and construction

• Manage the day-to-day site interface with Nuclear Decommissioning Authority/ Magnox

• Support Head of Commercial in the selection of the proposed technology and manage the technical relationship with the selected partner to ensure efficient and effective delivery of the development programme

• Develop the scope and integrated schedule for construction
