This iteration will see coaches permitted to provide vocal support to their players, whilst spectators will be requested to provide silent support through applause only. This change is based upon feedback from the frst weekend and will see a greater emphasis given to the desired coaching behaviours the FA believe are required for developing a positive playing environment.

Safeguarding Awareness Course for Parents & Carers

This free course is available for parents and carers to raise awareness of your responsibilities in the football environment. The course should take at most 30 minutes to complete. You can even complete it on your phone while watching your children train or warming up for a game. the A New Look for our U15/16’s as Easy on Eye Football Takes Over and Style

With 10 games of the season completed, our U15/16 squad sits 8th in the table. The boys have adapted to a new approach to play this season under the coaching

of Andy and Mike, assisted by Daz and Paul, with the emphasis on passing and movement, working for each other, and playing neat, possession based football. The fresh approach has also meant that the team now utilises the home team changing rooms for pre-match team talks, promoting a togetherness that the team can take onto the pitch.

The performances have been a joy to watch this season, drawing compliments from opposition coaches and spectators alike. While the squad have not come away with the points that they have deserved, we are looking forward to a successful second half of the season as the players continue to fourish under the new system of play.

the Players Biography’s Go Live on Club Website

Our players have been encouraged this season to secure their own individual player’s sponsorship from local companies and complete their own biography for display on the club website. With the coaches joining in too, the results have been overwhelming and to read what the players think about themselves is an eye opener! Read more at

High Partnership with club in the Spotlight 5 puts

The squad has been a registered partner with High 5 this season, allowing us to purchase products at discounted rates. Recently we were approached by

Samantha Akhurst, Affliation Executive with an offer to promote the club and to send samples and sports

bottles for the players. The boys were delighted with their freebies and a photo of them will soon be displayed on High 5 social media.

Having only played 8 games in the Harrogate and District League so far this season we currently sit second in the league, and are unbeaten with 6 wins and 2 draws and a healthy stack of goals.

We have had a great start to the season playing some outstanding football at times. I have received a lot of good feedback on how the squad

conduct themselves on the feld which is encouraging. Both the squad and the coaches are looking forward to the rest of the season, with the team often asking if there’s a trophy for the league champions (Got to love to optimism)!

Attitude, Attendance, Effort

The CVJFC Under 13s are currently in 1st position in the Harrogate and District U13s B League. This has been achieved through hard work in training, teamwork in matches and by following our three Team Core Values. Attitude, Attendance and Effort. By following these core values, we have grown as a Team and the Results are now starting to refect the effort and attitude all Squad Players show every Tuesday and Saturday at our CVJFC Training Sessions. This extremely rewarding as a coach to see the whole Squad not only improving as Football Players but also as people.

Match Day HOME Experience

This year we have taken over the CVJFC Away dressing room for the Under 13s HOME Matches at CVJFC. This was designed to build team spirit, friendships and further enhance the overall match day experience. The Kits are hung around with numbers displayed for Player arrival, we then have Team Talks and Game Tactics before Warm Up. All Squad Players who have experienced this agree it has enhanced their experience of a Match Day and it looks to be working as we remain unbeaten at HOME this Season.

I am proud of this team which went through a real tough season last season but all still have everything they had and also progressed and improved at the same time Within this squad we have a bunch of players I call the class of 92 as they have been here since tots. We started the season quite low on numbers but all mucked in and got the team back together and really started to show our talent in the Harrogate league.

The team and coaches work hard together to improve experiences for everyone including the parents.

We have an group of amazing supportive parents who travel where ever needed for their kids to play the game they love.

Within the team we promote fun and equality, giving all members the same game time and same opportunities.

Myself, Jay and Dave are proud of how far they have come and how far they are going go.

The CVJFC U9 Jaguars team are now well into phase 2 of the season, as a team they have been displaying all of the clubs values and ethos and are an absolute joy to coach.

We’ve been working on a number of different things in training, like spacial awareness, movement, passing, shielding the ball and individual ball work, all while using fun and enjoyable ways for the whole team to develop.

All this is refecting on the pitch on a Saturday morning with the whole team putting in some fantastic displays while maintaining the main aim, which is having smiling faces throughout the team, the progress that each individual is making really is phenomenal and it’s an honour to be part of their junior football journey.

This team goes from strength to strength and the togetherness they show is brilliant to see.

We’re looking forward to carrying this on throughout the rest of the season and into the next season as U10s.

U8

Our U8’s enjoying phase of the season 1st successful a after Futsal 2nd phase

The U8’s have started the second phase of the season which is futsal. Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced form of the game that originates in South America. It is generally played indoors on a smaller pitch (we are in the gym at Richmond School) and the ball is heavier than a normal ball. The smaller space helps to accelerate the players development in terms of their technique and skills. As the ball is heavier than a normal ball, play tends to stay on the ground which helps to encourage the children to keep the ball and play a quick, short passing game. The game is fast paced and has an emphasis on passing & moving and players expressing their individual skills during the games. We have had two weeks of futsal and it’s been great to see the children develop and implement the skills we have been working in in training.

The frst phase of the season went very well. We were competitive in every game and won the majority of them (results are not logged at U8’s and there is no league table). All of the children seem to enjoy the games and it has been very encouraging to see them develop in the matches and go home with smiles on their faces.

to Transitioning an Team, coach Adam provides an younger players are adapting to league football.

Normally the jump from organised training to arranged

games can be daunting but the players have taken it all in their stride.

As a group we have now grown to 19 players, which is an amazing achievement. So much so we now have two

teams, JAGUARS and PANTHERS.

The frst third of the season saw both teams playing in the Hambleton and Richmondshire junior league and there hard work during the summer showed as we hit the ground running against good opposition.

Although not always getting the results the players wanted, the hard work, effort and development from

both squads has been amazing to watch and has drawn plenty of positive comments from the coaches and supporters of other teams.

We are now into the second phase of the league which sees us moving indoors to play futsal. A new type of challenge for the players to overcome but both teams have adapted well to playing indoors.

It been brilliant to watch each players journey so far and we look forward to what the remainder of the season has.

The Costa Daurada Cup

Creating a Legacy for future CVJFC U16 Squads

in Village Junior Football Club to compete Costa Daurada Cup

For the frst time in over 10 years, the club will have an U16 team competing in the Harrogate and District Junior Football League. With many of the squad being at the club since primary school the club are embarking on their Spanish adventure in recognition of the service that the boys have given to their team. The club are trying to make the trip as close to a professional experience for the squad as possible where they will all travel together on a team coach in CVJFC clothing, eat together at the same meal times in resort, train together and experience tournament football against European teams. The end of the tournament will culminate in a stadium tour of the Nou Camp in Barcelona.

After what started as a conversation between coaches a few years ago to get together for a family football holiday, the idea was set aside before being resurrected in early 2022. The club’s Development Offcer, Darren Rhodes wished to leave a legacy to the club that would remain long lasting and reward the players for their long service and dedication. The idea grew to reality when, put to the parents, it was evident that there was massive support and from then, planning started in earnest. Fundraising events have been undertaken and continues to ensure that the trip goes ahead. A session will be arranged with our coaches after the tournament to set the template that will enable future squads to embark on the trip of a lifetime.
