Our U8’s enjoying phase of the season 1st successful a after Futsal 2nd phase

The U8’s have started the second phase of the season which is futsal. Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced form of the game that originates in South America. It is generally played indoors on a smaller pitch (we are in the gym at Richmond School) and the ball is heavier than a normal ball. The smaller space helps to accelerate the players development in terms of their technique and skills. As the ball is heavier than a normal ball, play tends to stay on the ground which helps to encourage the children to keep the ball and play a quick, short passing game. The game is fast paced and has an emphasis on passing & moving and players expressing their individual skills during the games. We have had two weeks of futsal and it’s been great to see the children develop and implement the skills we have been working in in training.

The frst phase of the season went very well. We were competitive in every game and won the majority of them (results are not logged at U8’s and there is no league table). All of the children seem to enjoy the games and it has been very encouraging to see them develop in the matches and go home with smiles on their faces.

Our Football U7’s Adapting to Competitive an Introduction to

U7’s Football insight into how our to Transitioning an Team, coach Adam provides an younger players are adapting to league football.

Normally the jump from organised training to arranged games can be daunting but the players have taken it all in their stride.

As a group we have now grown to 19 players, which is an amazing achievement. So much so we now have two teams, JAGUARS and PANTHERS.

The frst third of the season saw both teams playing in the Hambleton and Richmondshire junior league and there hard work during the summer showed as we hit the ground running against good opposition.

Although not always getting the results the players wanted, the hard work, effort and development from both squads has been amazing to watch and has drawn plenty of positive comments from the coaches and supporters of other teams.

We are now into the second phase of the league which sees us moving indoors to play futsal. A new type of challenge for the players to overcome but both teams have adapted well to playing indoors.

It been brilliant to watch each players journey so far and we look forward to what the remainder of the season has.
