“Every time I talk to a professor, they're always talking about an internship that I can apply for. They provide us with a lot of opportunities, and I feel like that's special.”
Nakayla Centeio ’27 Forensic Science
“As a former field practitioner in the areas of law-enforcement, forensic science, and investigations, I think the absolute key to success of the Forensic Science program at Curry is the application of hands-on activities throughout all the courses. The ultimate goal in keeping students interested is to engage them in real-world scenarios with industry-standard equipment in the lab.”
Jim Jabbour Assistant Professor Forensic Science
Nakayla Centeio ’27 brings energy and enthusiasm to every aspect of her college experience, whether it’s assisting in the campus mail room, planning events as a Resident Assistant, or analyzing mock crime scene evidence in Curry's Forensic Science Training Center lab with state-of-the-art equipment. As a hands-on learner with a passion for solving mysteries, Nakayla thrives in the classroom, where her professors have been her biggest supporters, helping her grow both academically and personally.
In Professor Jabbour’s classes, students learn how to process crime scenes, analyze physical evidence, and apply scientific techniques used by professionals in the field. Through hands-on learning and simulated investigations, they explore everything from fingerprint analysis and blood spatter interpretation to forensic biology and digital forensics. With decades of experience in law enforcement and forensic investigations, he brings a wealth of knowledge that inspires students to think critically and pursue their own investigative interests. wooded acres for research and exploration

“The second I came to Curry, I gained hands-on experience doing exactly what I wanted to do. I’ve learned so much about other people here, and also about myself. Because of Curry, I’ve become a better person.”
Josh Bracken ’25 Media and Communication Arts
At Curry, you can forge relationships with industry leaders who connect you with jobs, internships, and future opportunities.
Josh Bracken ’25 came to Curry College to pursue a career in sports media where he could get hands-on experience and work closely with faculty members who knew his name and his goals. From the start, he immersed himself in sports broadcasting—doing play-by-play commentary for Curry athletics, as well as high school and club-level sports. His passion and commitment led to an internship with Boston’s 98.5 The Sports Hub during his junior year, where he helped produce one of the region’s top sports shows.
His dedication and talent to broadcasting earned him a nomination in the DIII Hockey News Broadcasters Bracket for Curry College and a chance to commentate one of the biggest stages of his college career: the NCAA Frozen Four Semifinals matchup between the Curry Colonels and the Utica Pioneers.
Our dedicated professors and proximity to Boston mean you can build your own professional network—in healthcare, media, research, or any other field—right from the start.

Curry was the first college in the nation to create a program specifically designed to support students with ADHD and other learning differences. Our nationally recognized Program for Advancement of Learning (PAL) offers tailored accommodations and tools for test taking, time management, self-advocacy, communication and social skills, and more. Work with your PAL advisor to choose the accommodations that work best for you.
For Cheryl Kohl ’26, Curry’s personalized support meant meeting with her PAL advisor to create a study schedule and improve her time
At Curry, we’ll show you how to advocate for your needs and goals, so you can embrace everything that makes you you
management skills. She also received extra time for her exams in Nutrition. In Chemistry, where she felt more comfortable with testing, she told her advisor she didn’t need the same accommodations. Tailoring her support on a class-by-class basis gave her the freedom to advocate for herself and trust in her strengths.
Cheryl also found a community within PAL— through meetups, trivia nights, donut-eating contests, and residence hall hangouts—where she knew her experiences and perspectives were embraced and understood.
This new program, launched in 2024, is made for academically capable students with neurodiverse profiles who benefit from individualized support to reach their full potential in a college environment. SAIL-appropriate students thrive when provided with social coaching, transitional assistance, selfadvocacy support, and sensory-friendly housing. Our students often have diagnoses of ASD, non-verbal learning disorder, social-pragmatic language disorder, and/or co-occurring diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, and executive functioning challenges, or self-report a demonstrated need for social supports.
The SAIL team includes a Speech Language Pathologist and a Wellness Coordinator, along with Community Directors with specialized training in students’ social, behavioral and organizational needs.
Curry’s resources prepare you to succeed in and out of the classroom:
• Accessible textbooks
• Computer labs
• Disability accommodations abroad
• Emotional support animals
• Exam accommodations
• Housing accommodations
• Kurzweil readers and audio support
• Meal plan accommodations
• Multilingual support
• Technology accommodations

“Programs like PAL ease you into college while still giving you autonomy and control. A big draw for me was getting to choose my accommodations— and not having to take the ones I didn’t need. That gives you the space to bloom.”
Cheryl Kohl ’26 Public Health and Wellness

Skubie Mageza ’14 knows the power of preparation. Moving to Boston from Zimbabwe with his mother and brother at seven years old, Skubie came with a dream—working on-air for ESPN. Soon after, Curry’s career resources connected him with an internship at NESN, which led to his first job in the industry working behind the camera at FOX25 in Boston. By 2021, he found himself on set at the largest sports broadcast network in the world. Just like he’d planned.
