Andrew Wright | Managing Director #WeChangeLivesWe have a host of tips and advice on the Knowledge Hub area of our website. You’ll find everything from understanding inheritance tax and the secrets to a good divorce, and what you need to know when leasing a commercial unit. Here are a selection of our recent guides and articles:
• Are you too young for an LPA?
• Quick guide to LPAs
• A quick guide to wills
• How often should I review my LPA
• Five life events when you should seek financial advice
• At what age should I write a will?
We are delighted to introduce and be able to share with you our new logo.
The new logo has been designed to truly reflect our business aspirations as a modern, dynamic, and progressive firm. The use of a modern typographic style along with all lower-case lettering results in a contemporary corporate identity.
Additionally, we are more than a legal practice, we offer both legal and financial services. As such the new logo reflects this by dropping the word “solicitors” and introducing the “Legal | Financial” supporting copy.
Our new logo will start to appear across our marketing collateral over the coming weeks including signage at out new offices, as well as across our print and digital channels. The new logo will also appear on the Chester Rugby Club shirts following an extension of our current sponsorship agreement.
As an organisation we are very proud of our long-established history and heritage, however we are driven by our passion to move forward and constantly evolve.

Continuing our long track record of investing in tomorrow’s legal professionals, we are delighted to announce the promotion of three colleagues as they make progress in their legal careers.
Property Litigation paralegal Isabella Martindale has been awarded a training contract and will take up the position of trainee solicitor.
Isabella joined our litigation team in November 2021 as a legal assistant and was promoted to the role of paralegal in August 2022.
Chloe Halpin, who originally joined our Litigation team in September 2021 as a Legal Assistant before moving to our Family Law team, has been promoted to the role of Paralegal. Chloe who graduated from the University of Law in Chester with a first-class law degree in 2019 stated: “I am delighted to be starting my new role as a Paralegal. This is a great step in my legal career, and I appreciate the opportunity to continue to grow, develop and learn with our fantastic team.”
Isabella, who graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2020 with a first-class law degree before completing both her Legal Practice Course (LPC) alongside a Masters in Business Law at the University of Law in Liverpool in 2022 said: “I am so pleased to be awarded a training contract here at Cullimore Dutton, qualifying as a solicitor has been my career goal since high school and to now be in the latter stages of that process is very exciting. I know I have two intensive years of combining both my studies with my new role, but I also know the team here have a great track record of supporting trainees through the process of qualification.”
Meanwhile in our property team, Ethan Cartwright who joined us in February 2022 as a legal assistant has also been promoted to the role of paralegal within the residential conveyancing team. Ethan who graduated with a first-class Law degree from the University of Law in Leeds in 2021 said: “I am really happy to be awarded this promotion and to continue my career progression with Cullimore Dutton. I have already learnt so much since I joined the team, and I am confident that in my new role this will only continue.”
…qualifying as a solicitor has been my career goal since high school and to now be in the latter stages of that process is very exciting.
“
Alongside his new role Ethan will be undertaking the Solicitors Qualification Exam (SQE), an 18-month programme of study which will support his long-term goal of qualifying as a solicitor.
Managing Director Andrew Wright added: “We are pleased to be able to reward these three great colleagues with these promotions. I know all three deserve this opportunity to progress in their careers and that they will all relish the new challenges their new roles will bring. I have every confidence that all three will be very
successful and I know the rest of our team will continue to support them.”
All three promotions are active with immediate effect.
We would like to wish all three colleagues every success as they begin this new chapter of their careers, and to offer our continuing support throughout their training and beyond.
Good luck all.

#INVESTCHESTER is an inward investment marketing campaign currently being delivered by Chester BID, the Business Improvement District (BID) for Chester City Centre.
With the recent opening of the first phase of the £72m Northgate Development there has never been a better opportunity to shout about Chester and the range of development opportunities the city has to offer. An investment of this scale in a city the size of Chester demonstrates anything is possible and we are a city that is open for business.“
The focus of the campaign is to engage the property, finance and investment sectors who may not have previously considered a city like Chester.
Carl Added: “Chester has a unique offer that most other cities would struggle to match. With a perfect blend of connectivity, great schools, and lifestyle opportunities on our doorstep, Chester appeals more than ever to those looking to strike the perfect work-life balance.”
With the support of Grosvenor and Cheshire West & Chester Council the campaign aims to capitalise on the recent opening of the Northgate Development and New Chester Market to promote Chester as a city open to investment.
Chester BID CEO Carl Critchlow explained:
“Chester BID represents over 460 city centre businesses so it’s crucial for benefit for our members and the long-term development of the city that we continue to attract new investment.
The campaign has already reached well over 1 million people through a mixture of events, PR, and online marketing. These included a visit from TV property expert Tim Heatley who packed out Chester’s Storyhouse theatre
to talk about the creative ways his business has repurposed unloved spaces turned them in to desirable residential development.
Tim Commented: “Following the recent progression of Chester BID’s #INVESTCHESTER campaign, the future is looking bright for the city, they’re doing a great job of highlighting some of the fantastic investment opportunities that will reinvigorate and regenerate parts of the city that are ripe for development. Chester has some incredible collections of both historic and contemporary buildings – making it perfect for repurposing and reimagining. Some of the opportunities Chester BID have highlighted have real scale to them, projects that can help level up Chester, creating a positive social impact lasting generations to come.”
The #INVESTCHESTER campaign has also heard from local stakeholders and influencers who have spoken about what Chester means to them in a series of short interviews branded ‘This is Chester’. Contributors include Sam Dixon, the newly elected MP for Chester,
Richard the personality behind the famous @Sh*tchester twitter account and Louise Stewart, CEO of Chester Race Company.
Ian Macdonald, Digital Channel Manager for Chester BID explained: “The #INVESTCHESTER campaign has grown over the last few months, and we thought what better way to showcase the potential Chester has than to highlight the people who have made Chester the fantastic city it is today.”
Carl added: “We are so proud to have commandeered so many inspiring and influential people into the This Is Chester campaign – it really proves that people are proud of the city and are happy to spread the word about how brilliant it is. What has been great is to hear how well-networked people are in the city, how connected it is in terms of infrastructure and what a great community there is here”
