CTC AVIATION AND L-3 COMMUNICATIONS TRAINING RESOURCING SIMULATION

TR

CTC Aviation this year celebrates 25 years of delivering high-quality airline pilot training around the world. CTC WINGS – our sponsored career programmes for aspiring airline pilots, was launched in 2003. Since then, over 3,000 of our graduates have embarked upon flying careers with our Partner airlines. Many are now flying as Captains and working in airline management. CTC TAKEOFF - our portfolio of professional pilot training courses was launched in 2012 - now also sees graduates in airline flying careers. Impressed by our commitment to excellence; coupled with the quality of our people, services and graduates, L-3 Communications purchased CTC Aviation on 27 May 15.

L-3 is a well-respected, global group of companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange - well-financed, with considerable enthusiasm to invest further in aviation. This acquisition expands L-3’s commercial aviation training portfolio that also includes L-3 Link UK - a provider of world-class flight training simulation devices to a growing portfolio of airline and third-party training company customers. CTC Aviation and L-3 Link UK will retain their individual brands and strengths as independent operational entities, while continuing to focus on our existing customers. Our enlarged vision, now within the L-3 group, is to become an even more successful and customer-focussed airline pilot training company. Bringing greater benefits to our Partner airlines, graduate alumni and new aspiring airline pilots alike, but still retaining our family values and culture for which we are well-regarded. Of particular significance will be the further expansion of Partner airline relationships for our CTC WINGS and CTC TAKEOFF graduates and the fact that the latest-generation simulation equipment upon which our trainees will learn their skills is without equal. With the demand for airline pilots expected to grow to unprecedented levels over the next 10 years, in our view there has never been a better time to consider a career on the flight deck. “We are really excited about this next chapter in CTC Aviation’s global growth. Our two organisations share the same ‘committed to excellence’ culture and exacting focus on the customer. I am looking forward to what the future holds for our companies, our staff and – most importantly our customers. We are now in a position to be able to bring our tailored, solutions-based approach to an even wider global market – our Partner airlines and our individual aspiring pilot customers”. Rob Clarke – President, CTC Aviation

This month our postcard home is from Captain Harriett Pound, easyJet. Harriett graduated from the CTC WINGS Integrated ATPL ‘whitetail’ airline pilot career programme in 2009. Placed with easyJet on completion of her training, Harriett has achieved incredible things in her airline pilot career; she recently ing completed her command upgrade train us Airb the and is now a Captain flying A320 operating out of London Gatwick.

I have been lucky enough to take part in a fundraising flight to see the Northern Lights. The flight was operated by easyJet on behalf of the charity Aerobility which helps people with disabilities achieve their dream of flying.

Want to help?

I first heard about Aerobility nearly two years ago. I volunteer as a simulator and ground school instructor helping students with both the theoretical and practical aspects of flying.

Aerobility is a volunteer-led organisation and couldn’t share the magic of flight without the help of amazing volunteers. Aerobility need the support of able bodied as well as disabled individuals, companies and organisations. To support flying days, events, exhibitions, administrative tasks, fundraising and much, much more.

The flight to see the Northern Lights was the result of a huge amount of hard work by many people behind the scenes and incredible generosity. I feel very privileged to have been given the chance to participate in this flight; the spectacular views of the Northern Lights which I saw from the flight deck will stay with me for a lifetime.” Discover more about CTC WINGS airline pilot career programmes ctcaviation.com/wings

FREEDOM OF CHOICE

Choice is important when it comes to your airline pilot career – that is why CTC Aviation’s airline placement team is dedicated to seeking out the best career opportunities with more airlines than ever for our graduates. Ryanair is the latest name to join our growing list of Partner airlines with which we have placed our graduates. In fact, ten of our CTC WINGS and CTC TAKEOFF graduates have already been offered a position as a First Officer with the leading European carrier. Alex Paton graduated from our ‘whitetail’ CTC WINGS Integrated ATPL airline pilot career programme in December 2014 and begins his Boeing 737-800 type rating this August. Alex says “I cannot wait to start flying the line on such iconic aircraft. Soon I’ll be jetting all across Europe, finally realising my dream career.” When it comes to our graduates, your career outcome with an airline is our priority. Our employment success rate is unrivalled. Through our dedicated graduate placement service, we secure airline pilot placement with our Partner airlines for 98% of our graduates. We have recently secured a record number of First Officer opportunities with airlines such as British Airways, easyJet, Thomas Cook and Flybe for our CTC WINGS ‘whitetail’ graduate pilots.
