• Five 9-hole matches against each team in your respective flight
• Flights are determined based on combined handicap index
• In case of identical team totals, the team with the lower index player will be in lower flight
• Matches are played off the low handicap player in the match
• You will receive 1 point for winning a hole, 0.5 points for tying a hole and 0 points for a lost hole, each match therefore is worth 9 points total. NO BONUS POINT for winning the match.
• Each flight winner along with any undefeated teams will compete in the shootout following golf on Saturday
• Members handicaps will be based off their 6/01/23 revision and guest handicaps will be their lowest index between 6/01/22 - 6/01/23
• All play will be from the silver tees using the old rotation for matches (holes 2-10 & 1, 11-18). Players may move forward to White Tees by Rule of 90 (Age + Handicap equals 90).
• Cash Pool - $250/player mandatory to be paid prior to Round 1 on Friday
• In the event of a tie for flight winner, the tie will be broken by the headto-head matchup, if that was tied then a 4 person chip off will take place with the closest to the hole winning. However, both teams that tied for high points will advance to the shootout.
• Pari-mutuel wagering will take place for the top 3 team total of the field on Friday and a separate bet for the overall WIN, PLACE, SHOW on Saturday shootout. Saturday bets must be placed before round 4 begins.
• ALL USGA RULES WILL GOVERN PLAY
Saturday following completion of play, the winner from each flight along with any undefeated teams and the death flight will play a five-hole shootout. The shootout will consist of 5 holes 14-18. Format of play will be true alternate shot and we will eliminate a certain number of teams after each hole. Chip-offs will determine who moves on in the event of any ties. The final two surviving teams will play hole #18 for the Green & Gold Championship. We will eliminate 6 teams on hole 14, 3 teams on hole 15, 1 team on hole 16, and 1 team on hole 17 to get to our final 2 teams playing #18. This is if we have 13 teams in the shootout, this will be adjusted if more or teams are added. Each team will receive 40% of their combined team handicap, the low handicap team in the shootout will then become a 0 and everyone will play off them. Handicaps will be adjusted after each hole if necessary.
• There will be a golf shop raffle available on Friday. All money taken will be raffled off in merchandise on Friday night. Cost of raffle squares are 3 for $20, 10 for $50, and 30 for $100.
• On Saturday, there will be a Beat the Pro on hole #15. $10 to $100 wager. Test your skills against a member of the Crystal Tree Golf Staff. You hit first, Golf Staff hits last.
Payouts are as follows: Hit the Green - DOUBLE YOUR BET Hit the Green & Inside Golf Staff – TRIPLE YOUR BET Miss Green – LOSE YOUR BET
• All day Friday, we will be conducting a putting contest at the practice putting green. The game is 3 putts for $10. The Putting Finals will be conducted on the 18th green at 8:00 on Friday night. At the Finals, the winner will receive a Bettinardi putter, while 2nd and 3rd place will receive shop credit.
• At the Friday Night Stag dinner, we will be doing a little contest into the baby pool out on the pond by the 18th green. Entry is $10 per player and there is no limit to the number of times a player can enter. The number of guys that make it into the pool at the end of the night, will split the pot with Golf Staff.
• Question as to DOUBT OF PROCEDURE - In Match Play, the players choose how to proceed (DO NOT play two balls in match play). If the opponent disagrees, the opponent must make a verbal claim before teeing off on the next hole, or in the case of the last hole, before he leaves the putting green. The rules committee will decide on the matter as soon as possible.
• ADVICE RULE – A player shall not give advice to anyone in the competition except his partner. A player may ask advice from only his partner or either of their caddies.
• FOURTEEN CLUB RULE is in effect
• LOCAL RULE – Distance - only measuring devices are allowed as part of a player’s equipment.
• LOCAL RULE – Embedded ball rule is in effect through the green. A player may lift, clean and drop the ball as near as possible to the spot that it was embedded, not nearer the hole. A player may do this anywhere on the course, except a bunker or other hazard.
• LOCAL RULE – The one-ball rule is not in effect. However, changing balls during the play of a hole is not permitted except when the rules allow it (i.e. – switching to a ball for putting disqualifies a player for that hole).
• LOCAL RULE – The flower beds behind the 3rd and the 8th greens are deemed ground under repair.
• LOCAL RULE – Designated drop areas are available if the ball enters the penalty area beyond the drop area on holes #7, #15 and #18. The drop area on hole #18 is the white teeing ground.
• LOCAL RULE – Lost Ball or Ball Out of Bounds- A player may choose to drop a ball at the nearest point the ball crossed the boundary or is deemed lost. A player may also choose to drop the ball at the nearest fairway edge from where the ball was lost or crossed the boundary.
• For applicable areas on the course (left side of #6, right side of #7, left side of #18, right side of #1, etc.), a player may drop on the opposite side of the cart path if:
1. The player’s ball is in a penalty area and elects to take the stroke penalty and drop but the cart path is within 2 club lengthsof the hazard, or
2. The player’s ball is on the cart path, and a hazard is within 1 club length of the nearest point of relief from the cart path.
