Prayer Diary - January 2020

Wednesday 1 January - Please pray that God will continue to bless and grow CRU’s ministries in schools and on camps in 2020. Pray that God will be glorified in everything CRU does this year.

Thursday 2 January - Pray for preparations for the CRU AGM, to be held on Thursday, 30th January. Pray for Gary, Nigel and the Board, as they prepare items for the members. Pray that the members will give thoughtful consideration to the papers they receive.

Friday 3 January - Praise God for the new Summit trainees who have just started with us. Please pray for them as they go through training in January, that they will be able to learn and retain all the knowledge and skills required for the upcoming Summit camps in February.

Saturday 4 January - Give thanks for the men and women who serve on the many Board Committees. Praise God for their love of Jesus and their desire to make Him known. Pray that God will give them wisdom and skills as they serve, and that they might depend on Him in all things.

Sunday 5 January - Praise God for the opportunity to grow the Summit Team and train more people for gospel ministry. Please pray for a great sense of community and unity within the team as they serve together. Praise God for the extensive Bible and leadership training the Summit trainees receive each year as part of their Training Program. Please pray for those running the training, that they will manage their workloads and be equipped with the knowledge and wisdom needed to train the Summit leaders well.

Monday 6 January - Thank God for the young campers on Extreme Games at Galston this week. Pray that as they have a great time on camp, they would be stirred to ask many questions about Jesus and the Bible.

Tuesday 7 January - Praise God for Summer Games Day Camp at William Clarke College. Pray for Mike Lihou as he leads the team and for the junior leaders in high school who are stepping up to lead. Pray that the leaders will connect well with the campers and that the camp will encourage greater unity between the junior and senior schools.

Wednesday 8 January - Pray for the campers on Escape who will be participating in various activities this week. Pray for great weather as they visit the Raging Waters theme park and pray that God would provide many opportunities for encouraging conversations about Jesus.

Thursday 9 January - Pray for Sailing Adventure and the dedicated team as they teach kids how to sail at Lake Mac this week. Give thanks to God for the provision of sailing boats and equipment that enables CRU ® to run these unique camps.

Friday 10 January - Thank God for CRÜTech and the leaders who have a specialised set of skills that are needed to run this CRU Camp. Pray for the campers who attend, that they will not only grow in their knowledge of all things tech, but that they will also be eager to learn more about Christ.

Saturday 11 January - Thank God for the girls on Mountain Muster this week. Ask that God will grant them safety as they ride their horses and travel to and from camp. Please pray for great camp community amongst the campers and leaders.

Sunday 12 January - Give thanks for After the Mast and the amazing opportunity the campers have to spend a week sailing Lake Mac. Thank God for those maintaining the boats and pray that they would be diligent to keep them running safely throughout the summer camp season.

Monday 13 January - Please pray for CRU Break Day Camp at Shellharbour Anglican College. Thank God for the partnership CRU has with this school, and for the support and enthusiasm from the teachers and wider community.

Tuesday 14 January - Praise God for the amazing Brightwaters volunteer team. Thank God for their dedication and service in running quality camps year after year. Pray for the boat drivers on this camp, that they would be wise and careful in their driving and pray the leaders will be great witnesses of God’s love to the campers.

Wednesday 15 January - Thank God for Summer Spectacular Day Camp at Mamre Anglican School. Praise God that this camp encourages many young children to step outside their comfort zone and have fun, and pray that camp will be an engaging way to hear about Jesus.

Thursday 16 January - Give thanks for CRU Study Camps and pray for the students starting their Year 12 study on Summer Study 1. Pray that this camp will set them up for a great year of academic success and help them keep life in perspective.

Friday 17 January - Thank God for the campers on Getaway this year. As many of the kids will be first-time campers, pray that they will feel welcomed, make friendships easily and enjoy hearing about who Jesus is.

Saturday 18 January – Today is the last day of CRU Hype. Thank God for the amazing team members who start planning the next camp the moment the current camp ends. Pray for the many planning meetings they have throughout the year so that camp is always enjoyable and creative.

Sunday 19 January - Praise God we have January Leadership Camp (JLC) on again this year. JLC aims to equip young leaders in camp ministry and grow their faith. Please pray that many leaders will register and that camp will provide them with valuable training, equipping them for a lifetime of ministry on camps and in other contexts.

Monday 20 January - Pray for Summer Thrills Day Camp at Terry Hills as it continues to grow in its relationship with the local community. Pray that the campers who come along will have lots of fun, make new friends, and enjoy hearing from the Bible in exciting ways.

Tuesday 21 January - Thank God for Sailing Masters being held at Lake Mac this week. Pray that there will be a close-knit community on camp where campers feel comfortable sharing and asking questions. Pray that the leaders would answer any questions faithfully.

Wednesday 22 January - Pray for Beach Blitz as it’s held at a different campsite this year. Pray that the logistics of camp will go well, that camp would run smoothly, and that there will be lots of opportunities to share Jesus with the campers this week.

Thursday 23 January - Give thanks for Summer Study 2 and the way this camp gives many students more confidence in their Year 12 study. Pray that students will gain a more balanced perspective of Year 12 life and be curious to learn more about the hope Jesus brings.

Friday 24 January - Please pray for Triple G that is back at Galston this year. Give thanks that the team is able to lead the campers in various fun activities. Pray that the campers would enjoy the great outdoors and ask many gospel questions during the week.

Saturday 25 January - Praise God for a great summer CRU ® Camps season and give thanks for all the campers that attended a camp. Praise God for the work He is doing in the lives of the campers who decided to follow Christ this season. Pray that they would be supported by their school lunchtime groups and local churches.

Sunday 26 January - Give thanks to God for IT systems that make our daily work lives more comfortable and productive. Praise God for David Czapala, CRU’s IT manager, who maintains these systems and supports our various divisions, two remote locations, as well as the Head office at Eastwood.

Monday 27 January - Praise God for the hundreds of directors, leaders, cooks, speakers, boaties and all the other volunteers on camp over the recent summer season. Thank God for their faithful service, sacrifice, and the way they helped make CRU Camps so enjoyable for the campers.

Tuesday 28 January - Please pray for Sue as she co-ordinates payroll and pays all supplier invoices. Her work allows our field staff to focus on serving in their roles and spend less time on admin tasks as they connect with schools, campers and leaders.

Wednesday 29 January - Summit’s first school camp of the year is happening this week with Abbotsleigh Year 12 at Galston. Pray that camp runs smoothly and pray for the students as they participate in various activities and sessions to help them prepare for the year ahead.

Thursday 30 January - Pray for the CRU AGM and Board meeting being held tonight. Pray for Gary, Nigel and the Board, as they discuss various items with the Members. Pray that God would grant everyone great wisdom in their discussion and decision-making.

Friday 31 January - Please continue to pray for Gary Hill, our Executive Director, as he provides the strong and godly leadership that is so vital to CRU. Pray that God will sustain him through the many meetings, internally and externally, and as he prepares talks and speaks words of encouragement to staff, leaders and campers. We thank God for the relationships Gary has developed with many stakeholders who have supported CRU throughout the years.
