Prayer Diary - October 2019

Tuesday 1 October - Give thanks for Brightwaters Spring and the way this CRU Camp continues to grow season after season. Thank God for the camp’s volunteer leaders and how they faithfully serve in the lead up to, during, and after camp. Pray for fun and safety on the water as the campers enjoy God’s beautiful creation.

Wednesday 2 October - Pray for the students attending CrossTrain this week. Pray that on this leadership training camp, God will challenge them from His Word, grow them in their faith, and inspire them to serve in their CRU Groups and schools. Pray for Ben Staunton as he speaks about our unshakeable God and pray for Nigel Vaux as he directs the camp.

Thursday 3 October - Pray for CRU Craze Day Camp at Arden this week. As they have a great week on camp with new friends and lots of fun activities, pray that they will also understand who Jesus is and what He has done for them.

Friday 4 October - Pray for schools in WA that are without a Christian lunchtime group. Pray that the Christian students in these schools will have opportunities to meet and encourage each other from the Bible and in prayer. Ask that God will raise up people who will be godly witnesses and shine His light into these schools, and pray that CRU West would be able to support the work that God begins to do in these schools.

Saturday 5 October - Give thanks for Last Chance Study C at Galston this week. Pray that God will use the talks on this Study Camp to encourage students to investigate the claims of Jesus and keep life in perspective. Pray that these Year 12 students will feel confident and calm as they begin their final written exams soon.

Sunday 6 October - Thank God for the valuable study that the Year 12 students will do on Last Chance Study D this week. Pray that God would work through encouraging conversations on camp and that the students will be moved to explore who Jesus is.

Monday 7 October - Praise God for another year of Mac Time, a CRU Camp being held at the stunning Lake Mac. Give thanks for Bonnie and Brooke’s work in creating a great camp program. Pray the campers will be enthusiastic to participate in all the planned activities and will be attentive during the Bible talks.

Tuesday 8 October - CRU Camp’s Frantik will be held at a new campsite this year. Pray for the smooth running and logistics at this campsite so that the campers will have an enjoyable time as they participate in all the activities. Pray that God would be preparing the hearts of the campers as they hear about who Jesus is during the week.

Wednesday 9 October - Praise God for His provision in allowing CRU West’s 3rd Spring Leadership Camp to run this week. Pray that the Bible will be taught faithfully, that the leaders will be humble and Christlike as they serve on camp, and that the campers will grow in their personal faith and in godly leadership.

Thursday 10 October - Praise God for CRU Bolt Day Camp at The King’s School this week. Pray for great creativity for the leaders as they run activities and talks, and pray that God would be working in the hearts of campers to investigate more about what Jesus has done on the cross.

Friday 11 October - Pray for CRU Coast Day Camp, a new camp that was held at Gosford this week. Pray for the strengthening of partnerships with churches in the area so that follow up after camp will be effective. Pray that God will keep working through CRU to reach kids in this location.

Saturday 12 October - Thank God for the protection of the Properties team at Galston as they undertake numerous projects and pray for continued safety as the team continues to perform the various tasks needed to run and maintain the site. Also pray for continued diligence for the catering team as they serve thousands of meals to guests with varying dietary needs.

Sunday 13 October - Please pray for James Carroll as he recruits the January intake of Summit trainees. As he interviews the applicants, please pray that God will fill him with the wisdom and discernment he needs for the hiring process.

Monday 14 October - Please pray for the Crusader Board as they meet tonight. Give thanks for the men and women who serve on the Board, and for their love of the Lord Jesus. Pray that they might continue to lead CRU® well, and engage thoughtfully and prayerfully with all the challenges and opportunities that arise.

Tuesday 15 October - Please give thanks for the opportunity to install solar panels at our Galston campsite. As we exercise good stewardship of environmental resources, please pray that the panels will continue to function to their maximum capacity to help ensure our electricity bills are as low as possible each month.

Wednesday 16 October - Please pray for St Peter’s Anglican Primary School Year 4 as they join the Summit Team at Lake Mac this week. Pray for great weather so that the students can enjoy the outdoor activities, and pray that all the logistics of camp will run smoothly. Ask that God will be helping the students understand who He is and know of His great love for them.

Thursday 17 October - Praise God for Tara*, in Year 12, who showed great interest in the talks and discussion groups while on camp. At the end of camp, she told her leader that she enjoyed the Christian Discovery sessions and learnt a lot. She also shared that she was interested in investigating Christianity further and exploring the idea of Christian faith for herself. Praise God!

Friday 18 October - Thank God for our CRU West Staff Worker, Sheridan Raston, and our CRU West Ministry Assistant, Hannah Killow. Please pray that they will grow in Christlikeness as they faithfully carry out the work of CRU in Perth, and pray that He will continue to sustain them in their roles.

Saturday 19 October - Please pray for Gary Hill, Matt Seidl, Nigel Glasby, and others as they oversee the redevelopment of Lake Mac. Pray that God might give them great wisdom in decision-making for the project. Give great praise to God who has brought the project this far, and pray that He might bring Stage 1 to completion in 2020.

Sunday 20 October - Praise God for the various skills in outdoor recreation and facilitation that the Summit trainees are able to achieve through their Training Program. Please pray that they will continue to grow in these skills and that they will not only help the trainees run great school camps, but also be useful in other areas of life.

Monday 21 October - Praise God for the new CRU Group that has started at Belmont Christian Junior School. Please pray that God will sustain it and that many more students will attend and be encouraged as they study the Bible together.

Tuesday 22 October - Praise God for the students and teachers involved in starting the senior CRU Group at Calderwood Christian School. Pray that God will guide them as they meet together and that He will raise up many more CRU Group leaders who are passionate about seeing the gospel flourish throughout their school.

Wednesday 23 October - Please pray for Rouse Hill Anglican College Year 5 who are on camp with Summit at Lake Mac this week. Pray for safety as they sail and participate in various water and land activities. Ask that God will provide many opportunities for thought-provoking gospel conversations and that the students would be challenged to grow in their knowledge of His character.

Thursday 24 October - Give thanks for Howard Petts and Emily Thuaux who lead the CRU Groups at Nowra Christian School. Pray for the students who enthusiastically attend each week, that they would continue being excited to learn more about Jesus and have fellowship with each other.

Friday 25 October - CRU Wills Days will be happening today and tomorrow. Supporters will have the opportunity to have their Will updated or written for free. Give thanks for the solicitors donating their time and pray that many will take up the offer. Give thanks for those who prayerfully decide to leave a gift in their Will to support CRU in the long-term.

Saturday 26 October - CRU Ball, a night to thank our volunteers and celebrate all God has done through CRU Camps, is happening tonight. Thank God for His sovereignty in allowing CRU Camps to run every year, and give great thanks for the hundreds of volunteer leaders who sacrifice their time and energy to make CRU Camps happen.

Sunday 27 October - Danebank Anglican School for Girls Years 3-6 are with Summit at Galston for a Mother and Daughter Camp. Pray that the mothers and daughters who attend the camp will enjoy spending time together as they participate in various activities.

Monday 28 October - Thank God for the work done by Dan Perrott in writing and designing the new CRU® Groups resource.Pray that the resource on Colossians will aid the leaders in making the book an effective and engaging teaching series for lunchtime groups.

Tuesday 29 October - Meriden School Year 5 are with Summit this week. Pray that the Summit leaders will work and communicate well with the teachers, that the students will have a great time completing activities together, and that many students will be curious to learn more about Jesus.

Wednesday 30 October - Please pray for the girls in Meriden School Years 3 and 4 at Galston, and Year 6 at Lake Mac. Pray for the Summit leaders as they lead discussion groups, that God will provide them with wisdom in answering difficult questions and that He will be working in the hearts of the students. Pray for great weather as the students enjoy all the outdoor activities on camp.

Thursday 31 October - Meriden School Year 2 are at Galston for a day camp with Summit today. Pray that the students would be eager to participate in all the activities and that the Summit leaders would be clear in explaining who Jesus is.
