Prayer Diary - September 2019

Sunday 1 September - Please pray for the Crusader Board as they meet tomorrow. Give thanks for the men and women who serve on the Crusader Board, who are united in the vision of sharing Jesus with a new generation. Pray that they will communicate effectively and make wise and God-glorifying decisions as they lead CRU®.

Monday 2 September - Followers in Training (FIT), a leadership training event for Year 5 and 6 students, is happening at Meriden School today and Shellharbour Anglican College tomorrow. Pray that the students will learn new and creative ways to serve others in their CRU Groups and schools, and be encouraged to live more like Jesus.

Tuesday 3 September - Praise God for the opportunity to run a Summit Camp for Mary Immaculate School for the first time. Pray that the Year 6 camp at Galston will run smoothly, that the teachers will have a positive experience, and that the school will be excited to book another camp with us.

Wednesday 4 September - Thank God for the incredible generosity of the CRU community in supporting the End of Financial Year Tax Appeal. Praise God that the $19m community fundraising goal for Stage 1 of the Lake Mac Redevelopment has been achieved. These funds will help an extra 20,000 campers each year hear the life-saving message of the gospel at the new Lake Mac.

Thursday 5 September - St Peter’s Anglican Primary School Year 5 are on their last day of camp with Summit today. Pray for safety during the activities and that the students would be able to step outside their comfort zone, learn a lot through their camp experiences and be challenged in their knowledge of God. St Philip’s Christian College Gosford are at Galston with their Year 3 and 4 students. Please pray that the campers would be keen to hear from the Summit leaders, particularly during Christian Discovery time.

Friday 6 September - Thomas Hassall Anglican College is hosting FIT today. Pray that the students will learn how to be welcoming to newcomers who visit their CRU Groups. Oxford Falls Grammar School Year 3 and Trinity Christian School Year 4 are with Summit for their school camps. Pray that everyone will be energetic and excited to be on camp, that the students will enjoy the activities, and that the message of Jesus will be boldly proclaimed.

Saturday 7 September - Pray for VOLT Spring, a camp leader training event, which will take place on 14th September. Pray that many volunteers will come along to be trained and that really practical information about camp leading will be provided to help the leaders share Jesus and connect with campers.

Sunday 8 September - The Crusader Women’s Fellowship will be meeting tomorrow to pray for the work of CRU. Praise God for these faithful supporters who give up their time to pray for specific needs at CRU.

Monday 9 September - Summit is on camp with Trinity Grammar School (Summer Hill) Years 3 and 4 at Galston this week. Praise God for the great opportunity to build relationships with these boys. Pray that they will have an enjoyable time exploring God’s creation together.

Tuesday 10 September - Praise God for the opportunity Summit has to run camp for Arndell Anglican College Year 5 at Lake Mac this week. Please pray that God will provide the leaders with spiritual wisdom and guidance as they lead these young students and that the students will enjoy the activities on camp.

Wednesday 11 September - Praise God that Summit has the opportunity to run camp for Oxford Falls Grammar School Years 4 and 5 this week. Pray that the leaders would show Christ’s love as they care for these young campers and that the team would lead with enthusiasm and excitement, ready to serve the campers, teachers and other staff.

Thursday 12 September - Praise God for Arndell Anglican College Year 6 camp happening at Lake Mac this week. Pray that the camp director will lead the team well and that the camp leaders will submit everything to God in prayer.

Friday 13 September - Rouse Hill Anglican College Year 4 are at Galston with Summit today. Pray that the staff would be a great example of lives lived for Christ and that the students would enjoy participating in the camp activities.

Saturday 14 September - Summit is running a Dads and Kids Camp for Claremont College this weekend. Please pray that this large camp runs smoothly and thank Him for the opportunity that these children have to spend a weekend with their dads – pray that this will be a fruitful time.

Sunday 15 September - Pray for the CRU® Camps Team as they coordinate and finalise camp administration for the upcoming spring camps season. Thank God for their hard work and dedication to making CRU Camps an exceptional service, season after season.

Monday 16 September - Praise God for Victoria*, in Year 6, who learnt so much about God on her Summit school camp. After a few days of learning about what it means to be a Christian, she decided to follow Christ for the first time! Praise God for the opportunity to give her a Bible and a devotion to help in her Christian walk after camp.

Tuesday 17 September - Please pray for CRU West’s Spring Leadership Camp in October. Pray that God will raise up many students to come on camp to be built up and trained in the Word of God, and that He’d start softening their hearts for what He is going to do in and through their lives for that week and beyond. Pray also that God will guide the thoughts and preparations of the speaker, directors and leaders in the lead up to camp.

Wednesday 18 September - Praise God for the businessmen and women meeting at the QVB this morning for the annual Crusader Business Breakfast. Pray that each person would be encouraged by the stories of young lives being reached with the gospel through CRU’s school and camping ministries. Please pray that God would prompt the attendees to give generously so that more young people can be reached with the hope of Jesus.Summit is running a day camp at Rouse Hill Anglican College Year 3 today. Praise God for this opportunity and pray that relationships between the students and leaders will form quickly.

Thursday 19 September - Mosman Preparatory School Year 3 are at Lake Mac with Summit this week. Please pray that the leaders would have many opportunities to share their faith with the boys, would care for them well, and that the students would have an enjoyable time on camp.

Friday 20 September - Pacific Hills Christian School are at Galston with Summit this week. Pray that these Year 3 students will have an exciting camp where they have the opportunity to learn more about themselves, their classmates and the God of all creation. Trinity Grammar School are heading to Galston with Summit this week. Pray that the Year 3 students will enjoy getting to know our leaders and our great God. St Philip’s Christian College Dale Campus is joining Summit for a City Adventure Camp. Please pray for safety as they travel, and for the students to have a great time while they explore the city and get to know each other better.

Saturday 21 September - Praise God for Linda Newman, CRU’s Fundraising Manager, who has been working tirelessly in the Fundraising Team for over 15 years. Linda’s hard work, and her understanding of all things CRU, is invaluable.

Sunday 22 September - Thank God for the great generosity of those who attended the CRU West Partnership Dinner that was held in May, and give thanks that the fundraising target for this event was exceeded. Please pray that our funding would allow us to expand our ministry in Western Australia.

Monday 23 September - St Luke’s Grammar School Year 3 are at Galston this week. Pray for the Summit Team, that relationships with the students would form and grow over the next few years as the students return for other camps. Pray that the students will be motivated by the energy and enthusiasm displayed by the leaders who they spend time with.

Tuesday 24 September - Greenacre Baptist Christian Community School Year 3 and 4 are joining Summit at Galston this week. Please pray for great weather and for the students to step outside their comfort zone as they participate in various activities. Pray that the students would also be encouraged to learn more about who God is.

Wednesday 25 September - Summit is running camps for St Mark’s Coptic Orthodox College Year 8 at Galston and Year 10 at Lake Mac this week. Pray that the students would enjoy participating in the outdoor activities, that the leaders will be great examples of Christlikeness, and that God will provide many opportunities for great discussion throughout the week.

Thursday 26 September - St Luke’s Grammar School Year 4 are with Summit for their school camp this week. Thank God for this great opportunity to spend time with the teachers and students from this school and pray that the students will enjoy all the planned activities. Pray that students will respond positively to hearing about Jesus and for opportunities to hand out devotions to students who are keen to continue their Bible reading after camp.

Friday 27 September - Praise God that the Summit Team are able to run a camp for Trinity Christian School Year 4 this week. Please pray that this is a time where students will build stronger connections and friendships as they participate in fun activities and share new experiences with each other.

Saturday 28 September - As the spring CRU® Camp season begins, please pray for Last Chance Study A being held at Galston this week. On this large camp, Year 12 students will be fitting in any last-minute study before their final written exams in October. Pray that God would grant the students peace and confidence during this potentially stressful time.

Sunday 29 September - Pray for the Year 12 students on Last Chance Study B this week. Give thanks for the way CRU Study Camps give students perspective on life after high school and help them consider things that matter for eternity. Pray that the students will be productive as they finalise their Year 12 study.

Monday 30 September - Praise God for Splash and the fun outdoor activities that campers can enjoy at Lake Mac this week. Pray for great weather and many opportunities for gospel conversations while sailing on the lake.
