Prayer Diary - November 2019

Friday 1 November - Praise God for the senior lunchtime group at Sydney Grammar. Give thanks that the boys faithfully attend each week and find great encouragement from studying the Bible and praying together. Pray that each student would stand firm in their faith and be a great witness to their friends at school.

Saturday 2 November - Thank God for the volunteer members of the Lake Mac Fundraising Committee, led by David Braga as Chair. Thank God for their service and expertise in steering the Lake Mac Fundraising campaign since September 2017.

Sunday 3 November - Pray for the CRU Fundraising Team as they continue to prepare reports for the various grants that have been won for the Lake Mac Redevelopment Project. When liaising with the Government and private grant bodies, pray that we will clearly and effectively communicate the benefit that their support will make on the project.

Monday 4 November - Scots All Saints College Year 6 is at Lake Mac with the Summit Team this week. Thank God for the opportunity to run this new camp program and serve the students and teachers at this school. Pray for safety as the students enjoy all the planned activities, especially while on the water.

Tuesday 5 November - Please pray for the Divisional Heads as they meet on the 7 th and 8 th November. Give thanks for those God has called to serve CRU in this way, and how God has equipped them for their roles. Pray that they might make wise decisions as they lead CRU.

Wednesday 6 November - Claremont College Years 3-5 are running their camps with Summit this week. Pray that the students will be enthusiastic and eager to participate in the programs. Please pray for the leaders, that they will be full of patience and show Christ’s love in their interactions with the students and teachers.

Thursday 7 November - Praise God for the opportunity to run so many Summit school camps with Claremont College. Pray for strengthened relationships between leaders, teachers and students. Please pray for the students attending the Year 6 camp at Lake Mac this week. Pray that they would be challenged to grow in their knowledge and faith in Christ.

Friday 8 November - Praise God for the opportunity to run the school camp for New Hope School Years 3-12 at Galston this week. Please pray for the Summit leaders as they love and care for these students with additional needs.

Saturday 9 November - Praise God for His provision for both the Lake Mac Redevelopment Project and CRU’s operational needs in the past year. Please pray that He will provide the funds we need to sustain CRU’s key ministry areas for the remainder of this year and in 2020.

Sunday 10 November - Please pray for the Summit trainees during Term 4 as they complete all their training assignments and assessments for their Certificate II, III and IV. Pray that this may be a smooth and stress-free process and a time where they are reminded of God’s sovereignty.

Monday 11 November - Please pray for the construction happening at our Lake Mac campsite as the redevelopment takes place. Please pray that during this time, Summit will continue to run exceptional school camps. Pray there will be minimal impact on the camp programs and that they will continue to present the gospel effectively.

Tuesday 12 November - The Summit Team will be with Burgmann Anglican School Year 7 at Lake Mac this week. Pray that the students would be able to understand who Jesus is and be challenged to live as great witnesses for Him. Pray that the students would enjoy spending time at the lake as they participate in various activities.

Wednesday 13 November - Burgmann Anglican School Year 6 are on camp with Summit for the remainder of this week. Pray that the students will be challenged to live for God and be struck by His love for them. Pray that the Summit leaders will bring much glory to God while they serve on this camp.

Thursday 14 November - Pray for Burgmann Anglican School Year 8 who are at Galston this week. Pray for safety as the Summit Team leads them on a hike, a campout, and other activities. Pray that the leaders will be bold in asking thoughtprovoking questions during the discussion groups and conversations on this camp.

Friday 15 November - Pray for the many students who will be gathering from all over Sydney at today’s Mega-CRU ® (an interschool CRU Groups event). Pray that they will be encouraged and spurred on in their faith to live for Jesus at their school. CRU West’s final Inter-CRU for the year will also be held today. Please pray that those who attend will be encouraged by the fellowship with other Christian students and be built up in their faith.

Saturday 16 November - We are looking to grow the Summit Team and the number of camps we can run across our sites, especially with the anticipated growth of the new Lake Mac. Ask that God will bring many suitable and passionate applicants to apply for the January intake of Summit’s Ministry Training Program.

Sunday 17 November - Give thanks to God for Gary Hill and the 26 years he has led CRU. Pray that God will continue to uphold him in this work and grant him physical and spiritual health as he leads the organisation. Pray that God will grant him great wisdom and time management as he undertakes the variety of tasks laid before him.

Monday 18 November - The boys from Barker College Year 5 are joining the Summit Team for a leadership camp this month. Pray that the boys will grow in their knowledge and learn practical leadership skills to use in their roles at school.

Tuesday 19 November - Give thanks for the passion and work of the chaplaincy team at Kambala. Pray that God will continue to work through them and inspire students to have faith in Him.

Wednesday 20 November - Please pray for the students in St Paul’s Grammar School Year 3 who are on their school camp at Galston this week. As this will be their first camp with Summit, pray that they will enjoy their time with the leaders and grow in their understanding of the gospel.

Thursday 21 November - St Paul’s Grammar School Year 5 are at Lake Mac with Summit this week. Pray for the students, that they will gain a new appreciation of the outdoors and of God’s amazing creation - especially through activities such as fishing and sailing.

Friday 22 November - Greenpoint Christian College Year 10 are with the Summit Team for a City Adventure Camp this week. Pray for safety as the large number of students travel around the city and pray that God would grant the leaders wisdom in arranging the logistics of this camp.

Saturday 23 November - Praise God that each week, over 60 students meet at The King’s Junior School lunchtime group. Pray that he students who attend the CRU ® Group will continue to stand firm in their faith and live boldly as Christians in their school.

Sunday 24 November - Praise God for Jonnie*, in Year 6, who didn’t think he would be able to participate in abseiling, but agreed to just look over the edge. Through the encouragement of the Summit leaders, Jonnie ended up abseiling down the wall and even came back up for a second turn! Praise God for the way He helps these campers step outside their comfort zone and overcome their fears.

Monday 25 November - Please pray for the camps that are scheduled to run during the remainder of the Lake Mac Redevelopment. Pray that the campers will continue to have fun and enjoy their time at Lake Mac, and that they will respond positively to the gospel. Please also pray for the safety of the workers involved in the redevelopment project.

Tuesday 26 November - Praise God that on a Study Camp survey, a camper wrote that they grew in their faith because they “got to ask questions and received good Bible-based answers.” Praise God for campers like these, that they are an encouragement to the leaders who open the Word and share it faithfully with the campers.

Wednesday 27 November - Shellharbour Anglican College Year 8 are joining Summit at Galston this week. Pray for safety, great weather, and many gospel conversations as they hike along the Great North Walk and camp at Crosslands Reserve.

Thursday 28 November - Praise God for the opportunity to run a camp for Lakes Grammar Year 3 for the first time at Lake Mac. Please pray that the students and teachers will feel welcomed and comfortable with the Summit leaders, and that they will have a greater understanding of who God is.

Friday 29 November - Charlotte on CRU Quest (a holiday camp in WA) said, “It [camp] answered my questions about everything and helped me study Jesus more. I feel more encouraged in telling my friends about God.” Pray that more campers, like Charlotte, would go home and talk to their friends and family

Saturday 30 November - Praise God for the junior leaders at Arden’s CRU Group. They love coming to Followers in Training (FIT) events, growing as leaders, and sharing Jesus with their friends in their school.
