Prayer Diary - Dec 2019

Sunday 1 December - Pray for the CRU Camps Team as they organise camps, recruit directors and teams for camps, talk to parents and coordinate bookings. Pray especially for Phil Rawnsley, the Director of CRU Camps, as he leads the team and visits many camps over the summer camp season. Pray that he will connect with directors and encourage volunteers as they serve on camp.

Monday 2 December - Please pray for the Crusader Board as they meet tonight. Please pray for Dr Tim Wright as he leads the Crusader Board as Chair. Pray also for Helen Burgess (Deputy Chair) and Santino Dimarco (Treasurer). Give thanks for their love for the gospel of Jesus, and the way this guides them in their hard work for CRU. Please pray that God will keep them standing firm in their faith as they serve Him.

Tuesday 3 December - Shore Preparatory School Year 5 are joining the Summit Team for a school camp at Lake Mac this week. Pray for great weather and for safety as the students spend time on the water. Pray that the Summit leaders will be great models of Christ’s love and that relationships with the students and teachers will be built throughout camp.

Wednesday 4 December - Please pray for the boys from Shore Preparatory School Year 6. As they end their school year with a Summit Camp at Galston, pray that the boys will be well behaved and be eager to participate in the activities. Pray that they would be attentive during talks and that God will help them understand the gospel.

Thursday 5 December - The CRU ® Thanksgiving Service is happening tonight. Even if you are unable to attend in person, please join us in prayer in thanking God for the work He’s done in and through CRU in 2019.

Friday 6 December - Praise God for the Galston Property and Development Committee and for the work they do in ensuring that the site continues to be maintained and developed to meet the needs of its clientele. Thank God for David Attenborough who sacrificially serves this committee as Chair.

Saturday 7 December - Please pray that the building works at Lake Mac will continue to remain on track and thank God for His hand over the work completed so far. Pray that the site staff will continue to provide a great experience for all guests as the redevelopment progresses.

Sunday 8 December - Pray for the Galston campsite, that God will continue to grant guest bookings for the coming year. Pray that God would give the Bookings Team great wisdom as they approach clients and propose our facilities and services for their camps.

Monday 9 December - Pray for Meg Anderson and Emily Braga as they direct Christmas Capers this week. Give thanks for the young directors who volunteer with CRU and the way they are stepping up to lead amazing, God-glorifying camps.

Tuesday 10 December - Pray for the boys on Game Zone this week. Pray that the campers will connect with each other, build great relationships with the leaders, and enjoy all the indoor and outdoor activities. Pray that many campers would be curious to find out more about Jesus.

Wednesday 11 December - Pray for Sail Mania, a popular CRU Camp held every summer. Give thanks for the young people who are on camp this year and pray that they will enjoy the week of sailing with the CRU leaders. Pray that God will prepare the hearts of the campers so that they would be open to the message of the gospel this week.

Thursday 12 December - Give thanks for CRU Burst Day Camp at Arndell Anglican College this week. Thank God for the great enthusiasm the school and local community has for this camp and for their partnership in the gospel. Give thanks for the opportunity to provide the community with quality holiday care, while also sharing the good news of Jesus with the children who attend.

Friday 13 December - Pray that while building work for the Lake Mac Redevelopment Project continues during summer, CRU

Camps will continue to run smoothly. Pray that the camps will have access to the space and resources they need for a great camp where the message of Jesus can be communicated effectively.

Saturday 14 December - Praise God for Chloe*, in Year 7, who came on her Summit school camp and was reminded of how faithful God is. As a result of what she learnt on camp, Chloe decided to recommit her life to Jesus. Praise God!

Sunday 15 December - Pray for Survivor Jnr happening this week. Thank God for the amazing work of the leadership team who create a fantastic camp program with exciting activities that the campers will enjoy. Pray that the Bible will be taught faithfully and that many campers would respond positively to the claims of Jesus.

Monday 16 December - Give thanks for the Survivor Snr team for creating a unique camp experience involving laser tag missions and village setups. Pray that the campers will connect with the leaders and have encouraging conversations that glorify Jesus.

Tuesday 17 December - Thank God for the Waves and Wind team and campers as they have adventures at Lake Mac this week. As they sail on the lake, pray that there will be many opportunities to admire creation and give glory to God. Pray that conversations would point to Jesus.

Wednesday 18 December - Thank God for the boys on Treasure Island as they have lots of fun getting muddy and having adventures this week. As camp is at a new site this year, please pray that the program runs smoothly. Praise God for the volunteer leaders who are excellent male role models on this camp.

Thursday 19 December - Praise God for CRU Surf and the way this camp allows kids to enjoy the ocean while also introducing them to the creator of the wind and the waves. Praise God for the leadership team who help create a positive Christian surf culture on this camp.

Friday 20 December - Pray for the kids who are able to attend CRU ® Camps through community supported care. We hear so many stories of campers returning home and being calmer, more helpful and even-tempered after camp. Thank God for His love and care that is expressed through the leaders on camp. Give thanks that our camps provide respite for carers and a lifechanging week for the child.

Saturday 21 December - Pray for Piper who attended Autumn Trails. In her survey she shared, “The sessions have helped me realise that God is important in every moment of every day. Camp taught me how to pray.” Pray that Piper still remembers God every day and that she still brings her prayers to Him.

Sunday 22 December - Pray for a camper on Autumn Study Camp who recommitted her life to Jesus. In her survey she said, “I think it’s important to have a personal relationship with the creator.” Pray that she is growing in her personal relationship with God and being supported by Christian contacts.

Monday 23 December - Please pray for the Summit trainees who are finishing up with us in December. Praise God for the work that He has done so far in and through them. Pray that they will complete their time with us well and that God will continue to use them and grow them outside of CRU.

Tuesday 24 December - Praise God for a great year at Summit. Give thanks for the opportunity to have run 116 camps for 52 schools, and impact approximately 9,555 students with the good news of Jesus. Pray for our partnership with these schools and ask that God would enable us to work alongside each other well, to help further the students’ development in their love and knowledge of Christ.

Wednesday 25 December - Thank God for the wonderful gift of Jesus, sent to die for us. As CRU staff celebrate Christmas, pray that they will be great witnesses for the gospel and be bold in proclaiming Christ to non-believing friends and family.

Thursday 26 December - Pray for CRU staff who are on holidays over Christmas and New Year. Ask that God would grant them good rest and refreshment.

Friday 27 December - We give thanks to God that Alice Henderson has returned from maternity leave. Pray that as the routine of part-time work in CRU’s admin and accounts team becomes familiar, she will quickly feel settled.

Saturday 28 December - Praise God for David*, who joined Summit for his Year 7 school camp. He was very excited to share that he became a Christian on his Year 6 Summit Camp, one year earlier. Praise God that David was very enthusiastic and willing to share his faith with all his friends in his discussion group.

Sunday 29 December - Pray for the Summit trainees as they have a break from running school camps during the holidays. Pray that this time would be restful and refreshing for the trainees.

Monday 30 December - Give thanks for the Fundraising Team who seek to glorify God by resourcing the work of CRU on camps and in schools. Pray that God will provide the team with encouragement, inspiration, creativity and wisdom as they continue their work.

Tuesday 31 December - Thank God for his goodness and faithfulness in 2019. Thank God for His provision and blessing towards CRU’s work this past year, and for enabling us to reach thousands of young people with the hope of Jesus!
