Crossroads This Week
A new direct line to the North Pole is open for families across the region this holiday season.
For the first time, Twin Valley Co-op has introduced the “North Pole Mail Drop,” a program collecting letters to Santa Claus. While the initiative is open to everyone, the dedicated drop-boxes are located specifically at the Twin Valley Food Stores in Birtle, Elkhorn, Miniota, and Russell.
The program is currently active and allows children to drop off their wish lists while parents handle their regular grocery shopping.
How does it work?

According to Marketing & Community Relations Manager Kari Fouillard, the initiative aligns with the cooperative’s broader mission.
“The Holiday Season is all about giving and Twin Valley Coop values community giving,”
Any child is welcome to bring their letter to the “North Pole Mail Drop” displays found inside the four participating food stores. The process is simple… letters are collected daily from the stores and transported to the administration office for processing. Organizers emphasize that any child who includes a return address on their envelope will receive a personal response from Santa.

Fouillard said. “Our Co-op strives to partner with local organizations and give back within all of our communities throughout the year.” So far in 2025, Twin Valley has invested over $69,000 back into local communities through donations and organizational support.
