Five years of Croda Foundation: From idea to global force for good
In 2018: a group of our people proposed a bold idea: to create a Foundation that would channel Croda’s commitment to people, communities and the planet into something lasting. The concept was simple: we could do even more to improve lives by harnessing our greatest asset: our people.
If we can achieve this impact in just five years, imagine what we can achieve in the next five.
Rommel Moseley, Croda Foundation Executive Director
The idea became a reality in December 2020 with the launch of the Croda Foundation, a philanthropic initiative powered by Croda people and rooted in the belief that science and compassion can transform lives. Appointed in 2021, Executive Director Rommel Moseley was tasked with turning this vision into action.
Built by Croda people, for the world
From the outset, the Foundation was designed to be more than a funding body. It would add value through the passion, expertise and creativity of Croda people. Every project begins with a nomination from an employee, with the goal of sustainably improving lives.
In just five years, the Foundation has received over 310 nominations, resulting in 53 projects across 23 countries, positively impacting 23 million lives. For every £1 invested, £8.33 has been generated in social value. On average approximately £30.55 improves one person's life in the Foundation programmes.
Behind the numbers are powerful stories:
• In Kenya, mobile clinics are reaching 68,867 people in rural communities with vital healthcare services, from child immunisations to treatment for non-communicable diseases.
• In the UK, 600 young people furthest from the labour market are breaking the cycle of generational unemployment through skills training and work experience.
• In Chile, smallholder farmers are transitioning away from harmful pesticides, improving both their health and the sustainability of their land.
• In the US, the Navajo community have access to clean, running water, historically this community has been excluded from water infrastructure.
• In Brazil, 7,455 Indigenous people have improved food security and economic opportunity, while 3,300 hectares of Amazon rainforest were restored.
• In India, women now earn up to 30% more through skills training.

It makes me proud to see the Foundation evolve from Croda’s vision of doing good through our Purpose into a reality that has permanently improved over 22 million lives. A heartfelt thank you to Rommel and the team for everything they have done for Croda and the Foundation over the past five years

Powered by our people
What sets Croda Foundation apart is not just what it funds; it’s who powers it. From all areas of our organisation, our people have shared their time and expertise with partner organisations around the world. Whether mentoring on vaccine delivery in remote areas or helping charities strengthen their strategies, our people bring science, creativity and compassion to some of the world’s biggest challenges.
This collective effort is supported at every level, from the Executive Committee to labs, offices and manufacturing sites. The pride is profound: Croda’s impact through the Foundation is real, lasting and transformational.
Visiting the Jaipur project with Croda Foundation was an incredibly humbling experience. Seeing how women are coming together through self-help groups to build sustainable livelihoods and lift their communities out of hardship was deeply inspiring. The project is not only creating economic opportunities but also helping to ensure that children stay in school and away from child labour. It’s a powerful example of how empowering women drives lasting social change. Every woman trained and every child in school represents a step toward lasting transformation
Rakesh Kothare, Site Engineering Manager at Thane
Looking ahead: Transforming Lives
As the Foundation celebrates its fifth anniversary, it’s preparing for the next chapter. The new strategy, ‘Transforming Lives’ (2026–2030), will deepen impact, strengthen partnerships, and embed Croda’s ethos even further.
In 2026, Croda will also launch the Centenary Fund, celebrating Croda’s 100-year legacy. One flagship project in each of Croda’s four regions will receive £200,000, with ideas championed and endorsed by regional Vice Presidents.
A shared legacy
Croda Foundation stands today as one of the most efficient, people-driven models in global philanthropy but more than that, it stands as a reflection of who Croda is. The Foundation was born from Croda people. It is powered by Croda people. And it embodies Croda’s values, Responsible, Innovative and Together.
As we celebrate five years of Croda Foundation, this is not just a story of milestones and metrics, it’s a story of people. Of imagination turned into impact. Of ideas from our people changing lives across the world. Because Croda isn’t simply in the Foundation’s name; Croda is in the Foundation’s DNA. Play me
Transforming for the future:
In conversation with Thiru Selvan JM
Appointed to the Executive Committee as President of Supply Chain Operations in July, Thiru Selvan JM is bringing fresh energy and a clear ambition to build a smarter agile supply network that powers our growth. Croda Way caught up with Thiru to hear about the first few months in his role, the transformation work ahead and how our people are helping to shape the future.
Q: What first drew you to Croda? And how have you seen Croda evolve over the past five years?
Thiru: What initially attracted me to Croda back in 2020 was a strong sense of purpose, using Smart science to improve lives™. Over the past five years, I’ve seen how deeply our Values guide our actions. For me, operations isn’t just about making and moving products; it’s about enabling the business to grow efficiently, reliably, and sustainably every single day.
Q: What defines Croda’s culture for you?
Thiru: For me, it’s collaboration, engagement and a relentless focus on customers. Our people always go the extra mile to meet and exceed expectations. That’s what Croda is known for and what will continue to define our success for the next hundred years. We also live Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) as a value through our
caring culture and it’s vital that we keep looking out for one another everyday. I’m particularly passionate about mental health. Recently, to mark World Mental Health Day, I shared a personal story about my own sleep challenges to highlight the importance of the Health aspect of SHE, especially mental wellbeing.
Q: What’s the supply chain vision?
Thiru: Our customers are at the heart of everything we do. We are Purpose-led and customer-driven, and the work we do in supply chain operations must reflect that. The key markets we serve are highly differentiated, with unpredictable demand and requiring ever shorter lead times. Traditional supply-driven models won’t work anymore. We need an agile, demand-responsive approach that senses changes early and responds fast, without compromising cost, quality or safety. Building an agile supply chain isn’t optional, it’s essential to remain competitive and credible.
Q: What does success look like for you?
Thiru: Success means making the availability of our products and services our defining strength, and the reason customers choose Croda time after time. We already know that our customers value our products for their quality and performance but now we want our customers to experience service and delivery reliability and for this to be our true differentiator that builds trust and long-term partnerships.
Q: What work is taking place as part of the Supply Excellence transformation pillar?
Thiru: We’re building a network that’s adaptive, digitally connected, and performance-driven, where we’re able to anticipate demand, optimise flow and deliver when and where customers need it. We’re investing in digital tools, data transparency and supporting teams to feel empowered to make faster, smarter decisions. Over the next 12–18 months, success will mean visible progress in agility and service excellence: faster responses, fewer bottlenecks, and stronger customer confidence.
Q: What role do our people play in this journey and how can we all stay motivated during such a big change?
Thiru: At Croda, our people are our difference. Transformation is shaped by our teams, and we’ve set up a Transformation Office to ensure structured change management and clear communication, so everyone knows the direction and destination. Change brings opportunity and helps us move forward, but we also recognise it can create uncertainty. That’s why we’re committed to making sure transformation supports SHE as a Value and that everyone feels informed and supported throughout the journey.

Bringing Our Pharma Story to Life with Project Flagship
We have launched Phase 1 of Croda Pharma’s Flagship Project, a globally led and regionally delivered programme designed to accelerate growth across our excipients business. It brings a renewed focus to our legacy strengths including our lanolins, key Super Refined™ ingredients, and selected emulsifier, emollient, and solubiliser ranges, and presents them in a fresh, modern way that connects with customers on a deeper level.
Steve Mellor R&D Director, said;
“It’s fantastic to see Phase 1 of Project Flagship launch, our broad portfolio of ingredients are used across so many topicals formulations and really make a difference to everyday lives. We have a great team in Croda Pharma and we truly are more than an ingredients supplier –we’re proud to be part of our customers journey.”
Flagship takes a more human approach to communication. It highlights the people and expertise behind our products, showing how our science improves lives every day. Rather than leading with technical detail, we are leading with purpose, telling stories that help customers understand not just what we make, but what we make possible.
Why Now?
Marco Ciancia, Account Manager, said;
“Project Flagship has come at the right time - utilising our well established Health Care portfolio to reinvigorate and leverage our strong footprint in the pharma sector”
The timing is right. The excipients market is growing at 4 to 7 percent, with strong demand across topical, oral and parenteral applications. With focus and consistency, Flagship has the potential to deliver significant growth over the next three years while strengthening our longterm brand presence.
Kacee
Simms, said; Head of Insights & Innovation – “… the launch video
really enthused me and the team over in the States. We’re all raring to go now…”
With early results have been encouraging. Wave 1 exceeded its sample request targets, and our LinkedIn engagement now outperforms competitors with far larger followings. It proves that when we tell a clearer, more human story, grounded in science but delivered through
people, customers respond.
Danielle Sykes, said; Senior Marketing Lead
“It is very interesting to see that there were over 20,000 Topical related keyword searches every month. These are enquiries our target customers are making and now we’re telling them we’re here for them.”
Now the task is turning attention into action. Regional teams are building the next layer of engagement through nurturing email journeys, targeted mailers and the rollout of Derma Academies in 2026. Internally, more than 90 percent of teams are trained on our Topicals portfolio and supported with new tools and case studies to ensure confident, consistent conversations.
Flagship, shaped by a passionate crossfunctional team, is a strong example of Great Minds Think Differently. It is only the beginning, but it is already helping customers see what makes Croda Pharma truly stand out .
I feel proud and inspired by our Flagship project because it reinforces our commitment to strengthening our core ingredients portfolio in a meaningful way. It’s not just about our proven products, it’s about how we position, promote, and support them to create real impact. Our success in the Pharma market has been built on decades of expertise and a deep understanding of customers’ challenges. For me, the most rewarding part is knowing that our purpose goes beyond delivering products; it’s about improving lives and contributing to a sustainable future. By combining innovation with responsibility, we’re solving critical challenges and making everyday life better. Being part of this initiative has been a truly fulfilling experience, and I’m grateful for the collaboration with such an exceptional team. I wholeheartedly wish the project continued success and impactful outcomes.

In conversation with Thomas Riermeier LIFE SCIENCES
Eight months into his role as President of Life Sciences, Thomas Riermeier has gained valuable insights into Croda and the opportunities ahead. With recent organisational changes, including the introduction of Pharma Ingredients and Pharma Solutions, Life Sciences is evolving to meet the growing demands of health, food security, and sustainability. Croda Way caught up with Thomas and Claire Hunt Head of Marketing, to hear Thomas’s reflections so far, his vision for Life Sciences, and why transformation is critical to our success.
Your journey to this role
CH: What has surprised you most about Croda since joining?
THR: Before joining, I had time to prepare and knew about the portfolio, so much was as expected. What surprised me most was the complexity and fewer formal processes than I anticipated, but that’s balanced by Croda’s collaborative culture and strong networks, which have driven its success.
CH: Which part of Croda’s culture resonates most with you and why?
THR: Croda’s culture resonates deeply with me because it’s driven by a strong purpose, Smart science to improve lives™. Across regions, that commitment to impact and sustainability is consistent. I also value the collaborative, constructive way we work together as one team, focused on customers and shared success.
CH: What’s the biggest insight you’ve gained so far, and how has it shaped
My biggest insight is that transformation is essential. It’s not about small improvements, we need changes that make us fit for the future, with better data, updated processes, and renewed focus on innovation. This has shaped my priority to drive meaningful change that strengthens performance and customer value.
Ambition for Life Sciences and recent organisational changes
CH: What’s your vision for Life Sciences?
THR: My vision for Life Sciences builds on Croda’s purpose. We aim to enable customers to innovate and succeed in areas like food security, human health, and sustainability by delivering highquality products, supply security, and innovation that creates shared value.
CH: Why have we introduced Pharma Ingredients and Pharma Solutions, and how does this recent organisational change set us up for success?
THR: We introduced Pharma Ingredients and Pharma Solutions because our portfolio spans very different needs –established products and long-term innovation projects. Two distinct models let us focus locally on heritage products while managing global innovation effectively. This structure strengthens customer support, pricing, and processes, setting us up for sustainable growth.
Transformation and Commercial Excellence
CH: Can you explain what transformation is and why it’s important for us to act now?
THR: Transformation means making Croda fit for the future by simplifying processes, improving efficiency, and using data to work smarter. It will make life easier for our people and help us serve customers better. Acting now ensures we stay competitive, deliver quality, and create a high-performing environment for growth.
CH: You are the executive sponsor for the Commercial Excellence pillar. What does ‘Commercial Excellence’ mean for Croda, and how are we working towards it?
THR: Commercial Excellence means improving how we serve customers and capture value. We’re mapping the customer journey and tackling key pain points like pricing and large account management. These changes will make us more systematic, professional and better positioned to deliver quality and growth.
CH: How will transformation help us serve our customers better, faster and more sustainably?
THR: Transformation will improve supply chain reliability, forecasting, and product availability, ensuring customers get the
right quality at the right time. It will also empower our teams with better tools and processes, enabling faster decisions and stronger partnerships, all focused on making our customers successful.
Closing thoughts
CH: If you could fast-forward 12 months, what would make you proud of what we’ve achieved?
THR: Seeing a big step forward with transformation, where our people feel performance has improved, workload is at a manageable level, and everyone knows what to do with the right tools at hand. This will translate into better customer service and satisfaction, reflected in stronger financial results.
CH: What’s one mindset shift that will help us thrive as we transform?
THR: I don’t think we need a mindset change; we already have what we need. The key is to keep communication open and to share honest, constructive feedback. We must keep a close eye on market trends and customer insights so we can translate them into innovation and ensure they guide our transformation.

Cyber Awareness at Croda: Staying secure together
With the holiday season beginning, cyber scams often increase. Attackers exploit busy inboxes, travel plans and online shopping. This makes it even more important to stay alert and maintain good habits. Cybersecurity is everyone’s responsibility and a vital part of how we work safely.
CyberWise: Turning awareness into action
July’s CyberWise campaign made security awareness part of everyday work. It helped people spot phishing, strengthen passwords, and protect devices. The campaign reached all regions in ten languages, delivering practical lessons on phishing, social engineering, password security, and home device protection reducing risks and boosting digital resilience.
Since then, teams have adopted simple habits that safeguard data and each other. More people are identifying suspicious emails, password strength has improved, and engagement shows a strong commitment to a safer digital workplace. These efforts support Croda’s focus on responsible operations and protecting the data that underpins our business.
Dan Savage, Information Security Director, told us:
Keep the momentum going
Cybersecurity awareness doesn’t stop here. Thank you to everyone who took part, shared feedback, and helped make cybersecurity awareness part of daily life. Keep using what you’ve learned by thinking before you click, creating strong passwords, and staying alert to anything unusual.
Linz Phillips, Chief Information Officer shared:
“2025 has seen a sharp rise in cyber attacks, many designed to trick employees into giving away credentials through phishing, fake websites, or AI-generated deepfakes that look increasingly real. We need everyone in the company to stay alert to these risks, think carefully before clicking, and report anything that doesn’t seem quite right. Cybersecurity starts with people, and together we can stay aware and keep Croda safe.”
“Cybersecurity isn’t just a department; it’s a mindset and a shared responsibility. The more aware we are, the stronger Croda becomes. Every good decision made in the moment helps protect our business, our customers, and each other. When we stay alert, question what doesn’t feel right, and act early, we turn awareness into action and defence into

Stronger together
Solus, a leader in biotechnology-derived ingredients such as ceramides, and phospholipids, joined Croda in July 2023. The acquisition not only strengthened our Beauty Actives portfolio but also established a new biotechnology R&D hub in South Korea, Asia, accelerating innovation and collaboration across regions.
As part of our ongoing efforts to build collaboration across our sites and internationalise Beauty Actives, Jae Cho, Business Development Manager at Solus, recently completed a ten-month secondment at our Sederma Beauty Actives site in France. Croda Way caught up with Jae to hear about his experience, what he learned, and how it’s helping shape the future of our Beauty Actives business.
Interview with Jae Cho: Building bridges across borders
Q: What were the goals for your secondment?
The objective was to give the EMEA sales team confidence that technical support would be prompt and reliable when promoting ceramides to customers. Sometimes people don’t know who to contact, or how to respond quickly to customer enquiries. I became a control tower and acted as a bridge between the two organisations, helping us to behave more like one Croda.
Q: Do you feel you achieved what you set out to do?
Yes. I facilitated communication between teams in Korea and Europe and built a strong network across the EMEA region. I gained insight into different ways of working, which helps me manage potential conflicts and align goals across regions.
Q: How does this link to Croda’s consumer care strategy and the internationalisation of beauty actives?
My role focused on bringing Solus products into Europe. I trained sales teams, visited customers, and helped them understand our actives from Korea. It’s about making sure our products are well understood and effectively sold in new markets, while partnering with customers through work requests to deliver tailored technical support and solutions. There are multiple ongoing projects between the regions, including technology transfers, relaunches, and new product developments and I hope my experience keeps the momentum going and unlocks more business potential.
Q: How did you find living and working in France?
It was great, I felt fully integrated into the Sederma team. I loved experiencing the French culture, particularly hearing “bonjour” everywhere I went and the relaxed café culture at weekends. I’d studied in the USA before, so I’m comfortable adapting to new environments and I think that helped me settle in quickly. I was provided with French lessons which also helped.
Q: Any final thoughts?
I’m proud to be part of this journey. The acquisition of Solus is helping us evolve from a local player to a global one. By leveraging Croda’s network and Sederma’s insights, we’re building something stronger together. Collaboration is strong, enabling us not only to achieve business goals but also to grow together by understanding each other.
The Croda Korea team is extremely knowledgeable in the GMP manufacturing space, and their development team shares the same values and drive for innovation as is becoming of the Avanti
In the first half of this year, Solus achieved a major milestone by working closely with the Avanti global team. The Solus Iksan site is now proud to serve as the Asian manufacturing base for GMP synthetic Avanti™ lipids. This enables us to provide customers across Asia with localised access to high-purity synthetic AvantiTM lipids and the natural NatraphosTM phospholipid series, strengthening our regional capabilities and customer service.

Turning YourVoice feedback into real improvements across Croda
YourVoice is more than listening, it’s about action. Across Croda, feedback from teams is driving change that makes work better for everyone – here are three great examples of this.
Poland: Flexibility is making a big difference
In response to YourVoice feedback, Croda Poland employees can now arrive at the office between 7.30am and 8.30am. This has been received with great enthusiasm, particularly for those with long commutes.
Singapore: Tackling workload challenges head-on
Earlier this year, the Customer Care team in Singapore identified “Workload” as a key focus area from their YourVoice feedback. To address this, the team collaborated to list pain points and propose solutions, resulting in four major improvement categories. Two have already been implemented:
• Resource sharing: There was a resource challenge in Shipping so the team now share resources between Customer Service and Shipping.
• Going digital: Discontinuation of hard copy shipping documents supports sustainability efforts, reduces courier costs and increases the efficiency of the team, while maintaining compliance with all customs and regulatory requirements.
Jennifer Ng, Customer Service Manager, said:
These changes have eased internal resource challenges, boosted productivity, and reinforced Croda’s commitment to sustainability.
LATAM: Building clarity and connection
In the LATAM region, the Excellence and Sustainability team – spanning Regulatory, Quality Assurance, Sustainability, Continuous Improvement and Customer Service – have been reviewing YourVoice feedback and identified four key themes for action:
• Diversity and inclusion
• Benefits and clearer communication
• Professional growth and recognition
• Workload
Based on this feedback, they organised several in-person sessions, inviting HR representatives when needed, to discuss these topics openly with the team and provide practical tools and information. While many of these actions are still in progress, they’re already seeing positive outcomes and greater clarity across several areas.
Sandra Mara, Director of Excellence and Sustainability, said:
The
ongoing feedback through YourVoice is so valuable, as it helps us to better understand concerns and continuously improve together.
Why YourVoice matters
YourVoice is Croda’s continuous listening and engagement platform, designed to turn employee feedback into meaningful action. Each month, you answer a short set of questions – quick, anonymous, and focused on what matters most, like recognition, wellbeing, and growth. Your comments give real context, helping managers understand and act on what you need. It’s simple, transparent, and already driving positive change across our business
North America: Clarity of Croda Beauty strategy
One big insight from recent YourVoice feedback in North America was that people wanted a clearer understanding of the Croda Beauty regional strategy and regular updates. The team acted by focusing on an important pillar: increasing engagement with Contract Manufacturers to drive growth.
Sally Hashemi, Contract Manufacturer Business Manager, hosted a collaborative session, covering the current state of our contract manufacturing business, our strategic approach and progress and the outlook for 2026.
This brought teams together, boosted collaboration, and gave everyone a stronger sense of belonging across Croda Beauty.

New carbon insights to help customers drive sustainable innovation
Empowering better choices for a low-carbon future
Our Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) statements have been enhanced Croda has taken another step toward supporting sustainable innovation with the release of enhanced Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) statements, now including biogenic and total carbon content data. These insights help customers design products with measurable climate benefits and align with Croda’s updated sciencebased targets, which underpin our decarbonisation strategy.
To date, over 2,700 updated PCF statements have been generated for 2024, with more than 80% featuring the new data, demonstrating our commitment to transparency and climate action.
What is biogenic carbon and why does it matter?
Biogenic carbon is absorbed by renewable materials like plants during growth and released at end-of-life. Unlike fossil carbon, it cycles naturally, helping maintain atmospheric balance. Quantifying biogenic carbon removals enables customers to assess the environmental value of biobased ingredients and compare them fairly with fossil-derived materials, unlocking hidden climate advantages across the product lifecycle.
Driving sustainable choices with data
Enhanced PCF statements enable smarter decisions, support scope 3 goals, and highlight the climate benefits of bio-based innovation.
By providing timely and accurate carbon footprint data, we’re enabling smarter, more sustainable decisions. These statements reflect our commitment to environmental responsibility and positive change across the value chain
Phil Ruxton, Chief Sustainability Officer
This is more than a data update – it’s a strategic enabler. With product-level carbon emissions data, customers can make informed choices aligned with sustainability goals and scope 3 targets. Including biogenic carbon allows for the illustration of the power of Croda’s biobased raw materials.
Nicola Daniels, Marketing Director, Life Sciences Customer Engagement

SHE as a Value
SHE as a Value shapes our everyday life at Croda. In this edition we explore how it drives learning, supports change and can help to strengthen our mental health and wellbeing.
Learning together, improving together: Croda Human Performance Programme
The Croda Human Performance programme supports safety, health and environment (SHE) as a value by focusing on how people work, encouraging open conversations, and learning from everyday challenges. With over 6,000 improvements across 40 sites, it’s driving real change.
A people-first approach to safety and improvement
The Croda Human Performance programme began at Rawcliffe Bridge, UK, with a simple idea: what if we changed the way we engage with our teams? The programme introduced a fresh perspective: that human error is normal, that systems influence our behaviour, and that creating
a safe space to speak up is essential if we want to improve our SHE performance. Thanks to the success of that pilot, Human Performance has grown steadily and is now active in 40 sites across the Group.
What is Human Performance?
Human performance is a set of guiding principles that help us work better together. It focuses on:
• Understanding human behaviour and what influences it.
• Recognising that systems and processes don’t always behave as expected.
• Encouraging open, empathetic conversations, especially when things go wrong.
• Emphasising that learning is essential if we want to keep improving.
Click here to access the Croda human performance principles
The eight Human Performance Principles have been enhancing our “SHE as a Value” culture, since our Learning Team leads discussion with all the Site members to identify issues, develop improvement plans and implement them together

Japan
Next steps
While we’ve made great progress, there’s still more to do. Many incidents start in our everyday routines, which is why regular conversations about risk and continued use of learning teams are essential. Every conversation is a
chance to learn. Every improvement makes us safer. Stay involved, keep sharing, and keep making a difference.
SHE and Mental Health: Let’s keep the conversation going
On 10 October we marked World Mental Health Day – a powerful reminder that mental health is just as important as physical health and is central to living SHE as a Value. Throughout October, it was great to see the many thoughtful ways our teams across Croda have created
Keeping SHE front and centre while navigating change
Croda is transforming at pace and with change comes the need to manage it well, especially when it affects SHE. That’s where the Organisational Management of Change process comes in.
Organisational Management of Change is a clear, structured way to assess and guide changes, ensuring they’re safe, well-documented, and
people focused. It helps us protect wellbeing, reduce risk, and keep performance strong as we grow.
Explore the Management of Change policy here to see how you can help keep SHE front and centre in every change.
moments, including SHE Moments, opportunities to share resources, and create safe spaces for open conversations. These actions show the strength of our care and connection.
Let’s not stop here. There’s always time for a conversation about mental health and wellbeing. Let’s keep the momentum going, keep talking and checking in with each other. These conversations are part of how we continue to build a supportive, inclusive culture every day

Board Visit to Singapore –Recognising Safety Day 2025
On 22 October, Croda Singapore welcomed our Board of Directors to the Seraya site – and what better occasion than Safety Day, which is a powerful reminder that Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) sit at the heart of everything we do.
Safety Day highlights
This year’s programme was all about interaction and learning, with three dynamic streams designed to spark conversation and deepen understanding:
Leadership Engagement – Led by Esther Tay, SHE Executive Lead
A site walkaround brought human performance and manual handling improvements to life. It was a great example of how visible leadership drives safe, stable operations.
Quality – Led by Chow Guo Cong, SHE Manager
This session explored the close link between safety and quality, highlighting how operational discipline and learning from incidents are key to delivering both safe and high-quality outcomes.
The visit ended with a closing talk on key learnings and future priorities, reaffirming Croda’s commitment to safety excellence through teamwork, vigilance, and operational discipline.
Process Safety – Led by Zhang Xiu Hui, Lead Process Engineer
Through a scenario-based inspection at the biopolymer plant, we saw how layers of protection and risk mitigation work together. It was a practical look at how process safety principles are woven into daily routines.
These sessions encouraged open discussion between the Board, site leadership, and our people, reinforcing our culture of continuous improvement.
Leadership Reflections
Steve Foots, Group Chief Executive, praised the Singapore team for their energy, engagement and dedication to safety.
It was an excellent visit to the team in Asia. We were impressed with everyone we met, the commitment to Croda and the level of innovation. Thanks to everyone from the Board for all your hard work especially in this challenging year.

Introducing Great Minds Think Differently: How our people drive Croda’s
innovation
As we look to the future, one belief continues to guide us: our people are our difference. Innovation has never been only about ingredients, technology, or platforms, it is driven by our culture, collaboration, and the diversity of thought that sparks creativity and progress. Great Minds Think Differently reflects our commitment to creating an environment where every perspective is valued, every individual is respected, and every voice can contribute.
Our purpose, Smart science to improve lives™, relies on teams who challenge ideas, listen deeply, and approach problems from varied viewpoints. When people feel they belong, innovation thrives. This is why our values of Responsible, Innovation, and Together must matter in practice, not just in principle.
Great Minds Think Differently reinforces that we are more than the products we create. The real value we provide comes from the insight, curiosity, and problem-solving skills of our people. Different backgrounds, disciplines, and experiences strengthen how we design solutions, support development programmes, and build trusted relationships in a rapidly changing world. Our goal is simple: ensure everyone can contribute and create value.
What Great Minds Think Differently aims to achieve
• Embed diversity, equity and inclusion into the fabric of our organisation and make it central to our success.
• Bring our ‘Together’ value to life by caring for one another, embracing constructive conflict, showing empathy, and creating a positive culture for all.
• Support learning and open dialogue around diversity, equity and inclusion, promoting a culture that recognises and celebrates our differences.
Our Employee value proposition
• Continuously evolve our culture so every person feels valued, included and respected.
When people feel confident to share new ideas and different ways of thinking, collaboration strengthens, performance rises, and innovation accelerates. Inclusion, development and shared learning ensure that talent and opportunity move forward together. This is how we continue to innovate with purpose, improve lives, and make a lasting impact for generations to come.
We all build our culture by bringing our value to it, its all of us together that will ensure we thrive through entrepreneurial innovation for the next 100 years
Great minds think differently when they think together.
It takes self-awareness to notice when diversity is missing and the willingness to bring new voices into the conversation. Reach out to someone new, invite a different perspective, and look for the insight you haven’t heard yet, through this we can create opportunities where ideas can grow.
I believe diversity, equity and inclusion is about creating an environment where everybody has the opportunity to be heard, respected and thrive. When this is valued we innovate and collaborate more effectively.
Joining Croda in 2024 and engaging with Great Minds Think Differently has shown me Croda’s DEI efforts are about more than just metrics. We are aiming to build a workplace where innovation and belonging go hand in hand

with a product spotlight on Versathix™
Versathix™ is an exceptionally versatile rheology modifier that provides viscosity building across a wide variety of surfactant systems, with a neutral effect on foaming. Versathix provides excellent thickening in traditional, as well as sulphate free systems, coupled with shear thinning rheology which is especially important in bath and shower gels.
MNC Business: Kenvue and Unilever
Below you will find some examples of products from our multinational customers that contain Versathix™, maybe you’ll recognise them!
We spoke to Dr. Echo Hu , Business Development Manager at Croda China about the recent successes in China with this product as a hero, heritage ingredient:
Previously in China, we relied on multinational customers for this business, mainly from body wash. Over the past two years, we have enhanced the promotion to local customers, targeting both transparent shampoo and body wash. In line with customer requests, we have collaborated with country technical and marketing teams to update the performance in recent formulation systems.
Although there are already copycats from local suppliers, our product is more widely recognised, leading to successful new business growth
Dr. Echo Hu , Business Development Manager

Final
stop is Industrial Specialties with a product spotlight on Hypermer™ KD99S, which is helping to keep electric vehicles and AI data centres cool.
Two megatrends that have been dominating conversation and investment in recent years are artificial intelligence (AI) and electric vehicles (EVs). The data centres required for AI computing and rapid charging of EV batteries generate huge amounts of heat which can reduce computing power, battery efficiency, or even be a fire risk. The solution to this has been to use silicone compounds to control the heat generation as these materials are naturally resistant to being degraded by the heat generated. The drawback is that silicone compounds are insulators that trap heat, and this is where Hypermer KD99S can help.
Hypermer KD99S allows our customers to easily add conductive materials into the silicone compounds and to process them, maximising both the heat-resistant and heat conducting properties of the formulation. In this way Croda is helping both the AI and Electrification revolution and driving sustainable solutions to challenging problems.
Keep an eye out for the formal roll out of Hypermer KD99S, which will be in North America first.
A key customer in South Korea has successfully used our technology in a conductive silicone formulation targeting the EV market, specifically the thermal management of onboard chargers in EVs. Onboard chargers play a critical role inside EVs to convert incoming alternating currents to direct power, regulate charging and monitoring battery life. These create large amounts of heat within a challenging electronics system that require high performance cooling reliant upon ingredients such as Hypermer KD99S.
