Take the opportunity to network and receive training on critical issues faced in this line of work.

Enjoy your time in Dallas, y'all!

HOSTED BY

DCAC is the only agency of its kind in Dallas County, working in agreement with public and private agencies to investigate, prosecute, and provide healing services for child abuse cases in Dallas County.

We reduce the re-victimization of the child, remove barriers to investigation and treatment, and enhance criminal prosecution with our distinctive multidisciplinary and united approach to these complex and severe cases.

WHO WE ARE

Thirty-six years ago, the Crimes Against Children Conference started with just 50 attendees! That year, two speakers –Brian Killacky, who was a detective with the Chicago Police Department, and Ken Lanning, who was a Supervisory Special Agent with the FBI – provided training to this small group of law enforcement professionals.

Since 1988, CACC has become the largest conference of its kind providing practical and best practice instruction to those fighting crimes against children and helping children heal. There were more than 5,100 professionals from around the world in attendance in 2024!

Our outstanding conference faculty provides an unmatched variety of workshops and case studies that address the most important issues faced in this line of work. CACC has established a reputation among professionals for high-quality training and great networking opportunities.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

The conference is conducted for the sole purpose of providing specialized training to only those currently employed in various critical fields involved in crimes against children such as law enforcement, prosecution, child protective services, probation, and parole. Organizations focused on child advocacy, social work or medicine who work directly with child victims of crime and whose intent is to help children in their healing process may also be eligible for consideration.

The links to these room blocks will be included in your registration confirmation email after you register for the conference. You may only make a reservation in one of the conference’s negotiated blocks by using these links. We cannot guarantee the accuracy of the information provided if you contact the hotel directly or through their central reservations agents.

Upon registering for the conference, attendees will receive links to the negotiated hotel room blocks in the confirmation email.

The link is meant to be used by one person to make one reservation in the name under which they are registered for the conference.

The links should not be shared or used to reserve rooms for others who have not yet registered.

You must currently be registered and paid to attend the conference to reserve a room in one of the conference room blocks.

We encourage you to periodically check the Sheraton, or room links of other soldout hotels in your confirmation email, for availability due to cancellations. As cancellations occur, rooms will open up until the links close in July.

ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE DATES

A common issue that occurs when making hotel reservations is the arrival and departure dates entered. When entering an arrival date before August 3 or departure date after August 7, you will likely receive the message that no rooms are available. This is because our contracted room block dates begin on Sunday, August 3 and ends on Thursday, August 7. The conference ends at noon on Thursday.

Any extension beyond these dates will require you to contact the hotel directly to add the extra room nights. The conference cannot guarantee the conference rate will be offered for additional nights you may wish to add to your reservation.

HOTEL CANCELLATION POLICY

Please be sure you understand the cancellation policy for each hotel. You can be charged for one night’s stay if you do not cancel your reservation thirty (30) days prior to your arrival date.

AIRFARE & TRANSPORTATION

When planning your travel and making your flight arrangements, remember:

• The Opening Plenary is Sunday afternoon from 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM.

CACC SCHEDULE

DO I HAVE TO SIGN UP FOR CLASSES BEFOREHAND?

During the conference there will be approximately 30 workshops operating concurrently. All workshops are firstcome, first-served. If you have your eye on a specific class, arrive early. Have back-up workshops in mind in case your first choices are full. Most workshops are repeated. Many are also offered on demand. Pictures and videos are prohibited in workshops.

NETWORKING EVENTS

Monday Night Networking

Get ready to mix and mingle with other attendees, check out our exhibitors, play some games, and swap swag. This is a great opportunity to meet colleagues from around the globe! Bring your challenge coins, patches, and other gear to trade downstairs on the first floor of the conference center Monday evening!

Conference Celebration

Keeping with our tradition, the Wednesday night conference celebration is all about honoring the remarkable work in child protection. Attendees can enjoy bites, drinks, and music during the event.

MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR LUNCH BREAK

You are free to enjoy your lunch whenever it suits you. However, opting for a lunch break during the day may mean missing a workshop. We understand your eagerness to make the most of your time and attend as many sessions as possible. Don’t worry about missing out because most workshops are repeated or readily available on demand. Trust us, this works better than having 5,000+ people going to eat at the same time!

ON DEMAND

(included in registration fee) Attendees will receive access to 50+ on demand sessions, which will be available from August 3 - September 14, 2025 .

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

DO YOU HAVE A HOTEL ROOM?

Hotel blocks sell out quickly. If attendee room blocks at the Sheraton are full, please check availability at the overflow hotels listed in your registration confirmation email.

PREFER PAPER HANDOUTS?

You will need to print your own handouts before the conference, as printed handouts are NOT provided on-site. Not all speakers provide a handout. Handouts can be accessed via the CACC mobile app or eventScribe website. The app has notetaking capability directly on your device.

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?

The dress code is casual for our event. Inside the Sheraton, it can get pretty chilly. Despite the blazing 100-degree temperatures outside, it's wise to pack some extra layers. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes because you'll be doing quite a bit of walking to and from workshops.

CAN I BRING MY CHILD?

Minors are prohibited from attending the conference. Under no circumstances are infants, toddlers, or school-aged children allowed to be in workshops. Children are not allowed to be left unattended in any area of the hotel or conference center. Please have child care arranged if your children are traveling with you.

WHAT ABOUT MY PET?

With respect to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), no animals are allowed on the premises unless they are recognized service animals as defined by the ADA.

ARE MEALS PROVIDED?

A light breakfast of pastries and coffee will be provided daily. Food will be provided at the Wednesday night Conference Celebration; however, this event is optional. All other meals are on your own.

ARE YOU A NURSING MOTHER?

We will have a private space located in Pearl 1 for nursing mothers to pump throughout the week. Please visit our Volunteer Lounge - Pearl 4 located on the second floor of the Sheraton Hotel for access to this room.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY CERTIFICATE?

Certificates will be accessible through the Conference app and eventScribe site immediately post-conference. The final conference certificate will list all sessions and credit hours received from successfully completed session evaluations. Please see important details below to ensure you receive your final conference certificate reflecting your participation at the conference and correct number of credit hours.

A unique verification code will be provided at the end of each 75-minute block of instruction by the presenter. This will be your only opportunity to receive the code so be sure you record it exactly as provided.

The verification code is required to “unlock” the evaluation for each session. Evaluations will be completed on the conference app or the conference website by logging in using the email address used to register for the conference along with your unique conference registration confirmation number.

You must be logged into your account on the conference app or website. Accounts cannot be shared.

Substitutions: Attendees who are attending in place of another should never sign in as the other person. Make sure YOUR NAME is in the system correctly.

Failure to use your own login credentials will result in another person’s name on “your” certificate.

You must complete a session evaluation for each 75-minute block of instruction attended for the course and course hours to be added to the total hours displayed on your final conference certificate.

Two-part presentations will require two evaluations: one evaluation for Part 1 and another evaluation for Part 2. Each part will have its own unique verification code.

Repeated sessions will each have a different unique verification code.

You must also complete the overall post-event feedback survey after all session evaluations have been completed before you can print your final conference certificate.

Your access to the evaluations and certificates closes on September 14, 2025, at 11:59 PM CT. After this time, you will no longer have access to complete evaluations or print your certificate. Conference staff will not have access to assist you after this date. No exceptions.

All continuing education credit is self-reported. The conference does NOT submit continuing education credits on behalf of any attendee.

Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT)

Texas Center for the Judiciary (CJE)

TCOLE

Per TCOLE: Texas peace officers should submit their request for credit through their department training division under their ‘departmental’ tab in their TCLEDDS account.

The minimum documentation required is the certificate of course completion and the OPTIONAL “Outside Training Verification” form available on the TCOLE website, filled out by the attendee.

Webinars and recorded on demand sessions are NOT eligible for TCOLE credit. Only sessions that are attended in-person qualify for TCOLE credit.

For any other questions regarding TCOLE credit, please contact TCOLE directly at 512-936-7700.
